This is the most fun I've ever had.

Season two, we have Chopper.

I'll join you.

He's a talking reindeer who's a doctor, and he fights.

I don't think it could get better than that.

It was great to see a Chopper actually move and talk and scream.

Chopper ate the Human-Human fruit

and became a cute hybrid reindeer-human little boy

who can change form to this abominable snowman

who can take out anyone in a fight.

Casting Chopper,

we knew we needed somebody who can have the emotional resonance on screen.

Good afternoon.

Good after…

-Shit! -You can talk?

Why haven't you said anything before?

Because it's weird for a reindeer to talk.

When I auditioned for Chopper, I didn't know who he was.

It said a ugly little forest creature.

So I had created a little character already just based off his description.

Then when we started getting in the booth, the directors and producers,

we found common ground on how we kind of all wanted him to sound.

Oh, cool pirate's flag.

-Leave that alone! -Whoa!

Don't touch it. You hear me?

And I'm not a raccoon.

I was a reindeer.

Framestore visual effects, they do an amazing job

making Tony Tony Chopper all CG,

and at the same time, doing facial capture.

What's a pirate?

So Mikaela's emotions and her facial performance

will be driving the 3D model.

Getting to see the little facial expressions that I make in him

is the coolest thing ever.

She just captures Chopper's vulnerability in such a genuine, heartrending way.

And for production, we knew we needed something on set

for everyone to play off of.

We have this Chopper stuffy,

and then we have our Chopper proxy, which is N'kone.

She's an actress, and she's the one that's acting in the scenes with us.

Tony Tony Chopper here.

I wore a one-piece suit,

shin pads, knee pads, the skeleton of the hat,

not the actual hat, and a GoPro,

which captures footage that will go onto Chopper's eyes for his reflections.`

It really is so special to get to have an actual person there with us

to kind of capture the emotion and the feeling of these scenes.

I will become a doctor.

Please teach me everything you know.

It's been an interesting process.

But it's been like working with any other actor,

which is the best way to do it.

What the hell is that thing?

My name is Tony Tony Chopper.

When Chopper transforms, he transforms into Chopper Heavy Point.

That's played by Gavin Gomes.

When he puts on the suit,

he's like such a special thing to watch walk around.

There's no CGI.

Whereas other things, we have more visual effects on them,

and you have to picture it in the room.

He walks around as Heavy Point Chopper.

It is the most fun I've had on a project.

Wearing the suit is challenging, all the elements that come with it.

That part of my fingers, that is me. And everything else is covered.

There's contact lenses, teeth, the suit, prosthetics.

Is that Chopper?

The suit is designed by Jaco Snyman,

who's done an incredible job.

For Tony Tony Chopper's muscle suit, we started with a scan of Gavin,

and then we 3D printed molds

and cast all the muscle groups separately, assembled all of this onto a mannequin,

and covered it with fur.

The whole system just works incredibly.

Come on out, reindeer.

Let's go be pirates together.

I would love to be a pirate with you all. But I can't.

Chopper represents the part of a lot of people

that really just want to be seen and accepted

and loved for who they are.

He's a character that a lot of us can relate to.

I am so excited for everyone to meet Chopper this season.
