Evil triumphs when good men do nothing.

Fighting back is not a part of our culture.

There are influential people who have gone to court.

But how many of them go to prison, Intan?

This is what I'm talking about.

This woman is a braveheart.

Didn't you say you have given it? -When?

So, don't you ever dare involve my family in this!

Do you know why I love dogs?

Because a loyal dog will never bite its master.

If you want to attack this place, follow my lead!

My friends died because the police were looking for you.

Hurry up, Iman.

300 million. -We got it?

For everyone who stands up to fight,...

...what is the price they have to pay?

Old friend.

Long time no see.

We live in a peaceful world.

We let ourselves swayed by our dreams.

We shut our eyes off from the wars outside.

The wars that have existed since the beginning of time.

The war between the oppressors...

...and the oppressed.

But amid the heedlessness,...

...there are those who are still willing to fight.

To them, there is no such thing as peace...

...as long as the oppressors...

...are free from punishments.

D.

What are you doing?

Do you know why I didn't bring any weapon?

Because a lot of people have died.

I didn't mean for Chen to be captured.

D.

If you want to hate me,...

...there's nothing I can do about it.

But I can help you save Chen.

Darling.

Wake up.

Darling.

Darling.

Wake up.

Mei.

I had the weirdest dream.

I dreamt I was in a group.

We are fighting for karma. -Karma?

Karma?

Oh, Chen.

Since when did you become so religious?

Mei?

Mei?

Mei?

Mei?

Oh my God.

You're still single?

You haven't moved on?

We haven't started anything and you've already gone crazy?

So? Do you like my reunion setup?

You and me here. It's like a miracle.

I believe in God now.

How long has it been?

Has it been 10 years?

Do you remember when we're in office last time?

There was this girl.

What did you call her?

You called her "hamster".

The girl that you harassed with your smile every day.

Guinea pig.

You called her "guinea pig", boss.

Guinea pig?

Kill me if you want to. I don't have the money for you.

It's just money.

It's nothing. No problem.

You know, when I went to jail,...

...all I thought of every day was...

..."Why me?"

But then I thought, as soon as I got out of jail,...

...I would kill the bastard who betrayed me.

But then now,...

...when I finally caught him,...

...I was like, it was so long already.

I have considered it.

Learn how to forgive and forget.

That's what Jesus said.

I bless you.

Amen.

But then again.

Now that I see you,...

...suddenly my heart feels the pain.

Then I remember.

Hello. Test. One, two, three.

My name is Chen Kai Leong. Assistant Manager,...

...Mortgage and Loans, Mentari Bank.

I am recording my conversations with David Yap,...

...my manager, to be used as evidence...

...in case anything happens to me or my family.

Some things in life,...

...you can't just simply forgive and forget.

Who is that?

I open the City Council database...

...and find information on Nirvana Casino.

It didn't state the owner's name.

So, I search the company database.

"Now it's easier with SSR i-DATA"

Nirvana Casino.

Catherine Loo.

Usually the owner of an illegal business...

...would use a different name.

David. He owns the place.

He uses his mother's name.

We have signed the first phase agreement...

...of a RM1 billion investment...

...between TIF and Interzone from Russia.

For the second phase, we will increase investment.....

"Technology Investment Fund (TIF) invests monetarily...

...in overseas technological development."

Intan.

Remember that night, I told you that Iman called me?

He called again?

Two days ago.

He said he will call me back.

But he has yet to do so.

I have a bad feeling, Intan.

How am I supposed to help if you didn't tell me?

I am telling you now. -After two days?

I knew it. You're still angry about the other thing.

I am not angry that Iman called.

What angers me is that I was detained by the police...

...for hours because nobody told me Iman called!

Are you blaming me?

How about you? You haven't showed like you care about Iman.

You're the one who said...

...that I don't love Iman.

David is not here. Neither is his daughter.

Where is your son David?

Hey, D!

I am asking you. Where is your son?

Our Father who art in heaven,...

...hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come.

Thy will be done here on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day of deliverance.

What are you doing, Iman?

Have you forgotten how people broke into your house?

When did you become this person?

And forgive us our trespasses...

...as we forgive those.....

Do not play with me. Where is he?

Lead us not into temptation...

...but deliver us from evil. -D.

Darn it.

The granddaughter.

Grandma, why make me wait such a long time?

I was cooking.

Cindy, how was school today?

There was this boy, Clarence. He kept pulling my hair.

And he likes to pick his nose, and wipe it on the girls' skirts.

Tell her we're David's friends.

These are your daddy's friends. They've come to visit.

Why don't you hurry up and go to your room?

Cindy.

Are you hungry?

I'm very hungry.

Catherine.

What if we all have lunch together?

Sounds like a good plan.

Let's go.

Okay. Step one, done.

Step two, make sure she doesn't kill anybody.

We can't allow this to happen, right?

Why?

Why can't we allow this to happen?

We don't know where the money is coming from.

Now, do you remember what you did to me?

Of course I remember.

You were the one who approved loans for criminals. Not me.

Do you think my memory is that bad?

Chen,...

...do you know what we do in this department?

Approve loans. -Yes.

Approve loans. Clever boy.

I did a background check on Madam Zara.

Her Zara Foundation.

A lot of money that go through her business...

...that I can't account for.

It's clear she's laundering a huge sum of money...

...through her business.

Why do you care so much about her business?

You're kidding, right?

We can't approve this.

What if she is into something illegal?

We could end up going to jail. -Who?

Who will go to jail?

Who will go to jail?

This is how banks make money.

Off of interest of loans.

Since the times of your grandfather,...

...it has always been that way.

Do you know why nobody went to jail?

Because no one cares.

No one cares...

...where the money comes from.

Not the shareholders, not the customers. No one cares...

...as long as we keep making money.

Chen.

I want you to think.

Think about your beautiful wife, Mei.

She's pregnant, right?

Settle this...

...and I will guarantee you a promotion.

You win, I win, everybody wins.

It's so hard to admit, isn't it?

You stabbed my back.

What I don't understand is...

...what wrong did I do you? Why did you hate me so much?

I was in jail for nine years...

...because of you.

My daughter grew up without a father...

...because of you!

You could have just walked away, but no.

"I must record him...

...and send it to the lawyer."

Why?

Just to prove that you're a good man?

And be a hero?

Heroes die young.

I've died a long time ago, boss.

Really?

Okay.

We listen to the next part.

Darling, what are you doing?

Just office stuff.

I made soup for you and yet you don't drink it.

Catherine?

Do you want my help?

Cindy, stop playing with your phone and eat first.

Step three,...

...make sure everybody is calm.

Do not trigger anything unnecessary.

Cindy, can you please call your father first?

Tell him that the auntie and uncle are here.

Her dad is busy with work.

We can't bother him. Let's eat.

It won't take long.

Cindy.

She needs her vitamin D.

Her supplements. Vitamin D.

What's up with you two?

Cindy.

Is that true?

Oh, no.

Catherine.

Relax.

Darn it.

It's okay.

I won't be long.

I'll get going soon.

Sorry.

My ex-wife.

She won't let me see my daughter.

It's been a year.

I'm so sorry to hear that.

Let me guess.

Boyfriend?

More like family. -Family?

That's way more complicated.

But then again,...

...if you think about it,...

...it's not that complicated.

What I'm trying to say is...

...sometimes, we do a lot for the people we love.

But they never asked for that.

They only want us to listen...

...because they don't have anybody else.

We're the only ones they have.

Anyway, I have to go.

It was nice talking to you.

Good luck with your family.

Good luck with yours.

Office stuff?

When did you take these things to the office?

You finally did it, did you?

Isn't that why you do this?

I will guarantee you a promotion.

You win, I win, everybody wins.

Darling, what are you doing?

Just office stuff.

I made soup for you and yet you don't drink it.

Office stuff?

When did you take these things to the office?

You finally did it, did you?

Mei,...

...what if I'm wrong?

You did the right thing.

Why doubt yourself all of a sudden?

I mean, what if something happens?

That woman is capable of doing anything.

I don't want anything to happen to you and our child. Understand?

Like what?

Nothing's going to happen.

And you know why?

You are my husband.

You won't let anything bad happen.

My man isn't afraid to fight for the right thing.

Believe in yourself.

Could you please repeat that again?

Just in case you change your mind.

No.

Darling.

I can't believe we're going to be parents.

Knowing us, we might leave the baby in the car.

Or the shopping mall.

I'll never leave you in the shopping mall.

I love you too much.

What about me?

I'm the one carrying her.

That depends on what happens in the next few seconds.

Why? What's going to happen? -Let's find out.

I don't know. -You don't know how I know.

Who are you? Get out!

Stop. Stop it.

Mei!

I said stop it!

Stop it! I will kill you!

Stop it! I'll kill you!

No!

Stop it! I'll kill you!

Mei!

This is the best part. Listen.

I'll kill you! Let her go!

Let her go. I will kill you!

Let her go!

You let her go!

This is why you are here with me today.

Karma is like rain.

You'll never know when it's going to fall.

You let her go!

I want to kill you!

Ibu Zara sends her regards.

Grandma.

Cindy, come to grandma.

Come.

Step four, do not panic.

Relax.

Do not use violence.

Call David now.

D.

D, let her go.

Relax.

I just want to make things right.

Why is this happening?

This is not me. -Come out!

Catherine, listen.

I'm not trying to cause trouble.

I just want you to contact David.

That's all. I promise I won't hurt you...

...and Cindy.

Uncle?

Why didn't you eat what I cooked for you?

I am not hungry yet, Intan.

Where are you going?

I don't know. Wherever.

I don't want to trouble you.

Do you remember when I was a child?

My parents were busy at work.

Nobody cared about me.

Everything was an issue.

If not for you and Iman,...

...nobody would have looked after me.

You always told me,...

...a problem will become a burden.....

Unless we carry it together.

I have no one else, uncle.

I only have you and Iman.

I promise, from now on,...

...we will carry any burden together, okay?

Come on. Let's eat.

Boss.

Follow me.

Didn't you say not to let Intan know about our operation?

She has never seen you, right?

What's the problem then?

What did the Chief say about the operation?

Did he know you asked me to record Intan's calls...

...with her lawyer?

What's with the questions?

I gave you an order. Just do it.

Captain Chandran?

Miss, we have new information regarding Mr. Iman's whereabouts.

May we come in?

Who are they?

UKJ. They have information about Iman.

Have you found Iman?

Sir, I am Captain Chandran, and this is Sergeant Dzia.

He's the guy who appeared that night.

Look. What's going on here?

Dzia.

Seize her phone and laptop. -What?

Dzia, do it now.

No.

No! -Miss Intan!

Stay calm, okay? Let us do our duties.

Where is your warrant?

You have no right to come into my house.

You can't do this to me. Is this even legal?

Why the need to seize my phone and laptop?

Miss Intan!

This is a police investigation.

Please cooperate, okay?

Sergeant!

Miss Intan, please follow us.

No.

Until you tell me why,...

...I am not going anywhere.

Arrest her.

Uncle.

Come here, Intan. -Uncle.

You!

Don't just do whatever you want! -Sir!

Please cooperate.

I didn't do anything! This is wrong!

I know my rights! Uncle!

Is it so hard to just follow my order?

Do you have to be bad too to go against a criminal?

Are you stupid? What makes you different than Ibu Zara then?

Do you know why bad people exist?

Because good men are scared to do anything.

That is why people like Ibu Zara is still alive today.

Go to hell.

Ibu Zara killed my family.

My desire to go against her makes me a bad person?

Don't you have any shame?

Kidnapping an old person and a child too?

And people call me the criminal?

What the hell?

Where is Chen? -Why?

Do you miss him?

Don't you want your family back?

Papa! -D.

Don't worry mum, Cindy.

Mum. Don't worry.

It will be over soon.

Come.

Iman, take cover!

Papa!

Papa!

David!

David! -Papa!

This is karma.

When evil reins,...

...when the good ones hung their head in silence,...

Intan! What now? Will you arrest me?

Arrest me then!

Arrest me if you dare!

...powerless to fight back.

As evil runs rampant,...

...when the sins of evildoers are worshipped,...

...and injustices are forgiven,...

...karma smiles...

...as its time has come.
