- Don't.

- Fall in the lava.

Rule number three is really the kicker.

(dramatic music)

Each player that gets across is worth one point.

- Woo, let's go.

- The team with the most points wins $10,000

and this very attractive $29 lighting fixture.

This time three teams will attempt to cross

the hottest room in the house, the bedroom.

It's a wild beast of a bourgeois determined to knock you out.

As soon as you enter, you'll see numerous paths

to get to the exit.

The first option requires a good grip

to swing on the drapery to the landing wall.

From there, you can leap over the furniture

to reach the vanity.

Now if your team is enlightened enough

to lower the chandelier, you'll have a straight shot

to the exit or you can book passage on another route.

Haven't been to an amusement park in a while,

take the leap to the rapidly rotating bed.

If your timing is off, those bed posts will send you spinning.

But if you make it to the mattress,

this central location can lead you in any direction.

Assuming you can avoid vertigo,

you can continue to the fireplace

where you may spot a suspicious rope.

What does it do?

They'll have to pull it to find out.

Or you can crisscross the lava slick furniture

to get to the exit door.

And that's just the beginning

of the ways you can tackle this room.

But whatever path you choose,

your team needs to hurry

because the stairs at the exit are sinking

and each step that submerges

makes leaping to the exit that much harder.

Our first team is three friends who play tennis,

Jozen, Alec and Ian.

- We've known each other for 10 years.

We've played tennis, we've been to each other's homes,

we've known each other's families.

We're just good friends who happen to play tennis.

And we're gonna win

and people are gonna look up to us.

Fame, fortune will follow.

- We make a good team because we've played together

on the tennis court.

We know how to play doubles.

We know how to talk and communicate.

And then Ian's actually an NCAA champion in gymnastics.

He won on the vault and the floor exercise.

So he definitely is the strongest.

We're gonna look to you to make sure

that you get us past that finish line.

Because if we win the $10,000,

we all wanna go on a trip to Wimbledon.

We are pumped to win this, right?

- Game set.

- Match.

- Oh my God.

- This is crazy.

That's a lot of lava.

- It is a lot of lava.

7,800 cubic feet to be exact.

Hey guys, welcome to the game.

- Hi.

- The rules are simple.

Get from the entrance door to the exit door.

Each person who makes it across is worth one point.

Go quickly because the stairs of the exit door

descend making the incredibly challenging final jump

incredibly challenging nerve.

One final rule, don't fall in because the floor is.

(screaming)

- Oh no.

- No.

- There's like the bad an exorcist.

- Spending at 20 revolutions per minute,

this bad is like a sit and sleep that's been possessed.

- I don't think we should go on three.

- Oh.

- You go first.

- Where do you want me to go?

- I think you could take that curtain maybe.

- You're gonna do the water.

- Come on, come on here.

- You're gonna try that.

- Let's go.

- Hold on, hold on.

- It's all right, let's get you.

- Come on, Ian.

- Come on.

- Hold on, hold on to it.

- I don't think it does.

- Just swing, just make sure you swing.

- Oh.

- No!

- Good.

- Ian has stuck the landing, nine point one.

- Oh my god.

- Guys, is there a way you can put that back?

- No, it doesn't go back.

- That's right Ian, this curtain's a one way ride.

Alec and Jozen will have to go to the spinning bed

to get across.

- You got this Alec.

(dramatic music)

- You just gotta time it.

- Make a nice big leap.

(dramatic music)

(groaning)

- Oh my god.

- Alec has made the bed,

but the more time he spins here, the dizzier he'll get.

- I don't, you gotta get over there

and figure out something else, right?

(dramatic music)

- Nope.

- This is crazy.

- That looks hard.

- Oh great.

- I found it.

- Alec is struggling on that rotating bed.

- Jozen, are you coming?

- You got this Alec.

- Wait, whoa.

- You got this, you got this.

- Yes, Alec lands in bounds on the ottoman.

- You're gonna go for the bed?

- All right.

- Okay, grab one of the sides.

- Got it, got it, got it.

- Grab on the side.

- I got it, I got it.

- You got this, come on.

- Ready?

- Go, go, jump, jump.

- Get it, get it.

(dramatic music)

- This is getting me dizzy.

- Oh no, Jozen's already suffering from the spins.

- I need runes to go under there.

- Which way?

- Ian's setting up for the seven foot jump to the ottoman.

- Can you help me if I jump here?

- Yeah, go, go, go, go, go.

I'm up, I'm up.

(dramatic music)

- A mighty leap for the gymnastics champion.

- You want me to step on this and push it down?

- Can there's somebody who can jump into that?

- Hold my hand, can you hold my hand?

- You gotta jump into the dresser.

There you go, you got it.

- Down goes the mirror.

- Okay, I don't know where that gets us though.

- Extending the vanity makes it easy to step on the chandelier,

assuming it's been lowered,

but the tennis trio will have to figure out

how to do that on their own.

- Jozen, you gotta go--

- Get down on the ledge, move your way down.

Move your way that way, and we're gonna have to figure this out.

Got it, got it.

- He's scary.

- Jozen's right to be scared.

He's already been spun round and round 13 times.

He's got to be woozy now.

(dramatic music)

- Oh, hey! - Swing!

- Good!

- Come on, Jozen, come on, come on.

- Jozen, fixated on the path to the rope,

not even considering the move to the Shea's lounge.

- You got it, you got it, you got it.

- Go, go, go.

- This could be a tactical error.

(cheering)

- That was hot!

- Oh, oh, oh!

- That was hot!

- But he makes it across.

- That was good.

- Jozen's showing nice extension on his lunge to the trunk,

but he gets blasted by a huge eruption

right in his midsection,

which is something we can watch over and over and over.

- Ah, I love this game.

- Move your way that way,

and we're gonna have to just figure this out.

You might have to come back.

- Yeah, no, there's no way.

- Alec and Ian trying to figure out where to go next.

Until the chandelier is lowered, the vanity is a dead end.

And they've got to hurry.

Those stairs are sinking into the lava.

- Go, go, go.

All right.

- Alec on the bed a second time,

and he doesn't look any happier this time around.

- All right, you're gonna go there?

Ian directing traffic, goes for a high five left hanging.

Oh, but Alec made it onto the side table.

- Jump to the rock and face forward

and land against the wall.

- Jozen collecting himself.

It's five feet to that rock,

and it's a very uneven landing area.

- There you go. - All right.

- Now he's got a clear path to the ropes

if he can get across that fireplace.

All right, go so I can get out this thing.

Alec stretching out onto the trunk across unscathed.

- This is tough.

I'm gonna see what this does.

- Jozen's arching for the rope.

Jozen's done it, down goes the chandelier.

- Whoa, whoa, whoa.

I'm going back this way.

- Ian heading back to the vanity towards the chandelier.

- I'm gonna have to somehow get over there.

- Both Alec and Jozen on the fireplace,

they need to start working their way to the exit door.

- Whoo!

- Ian launching himself out onto the chandelier.

- This fireplace.

Okay, Jozen.

- Alec and Jozen facing a six-foot leap

onto a very slick trunk.

- Go, go, Jozen.

- Oh no, Jozen got served.

Alec not hesitating, reaching out with his foot.

(wind blowing)

- Oh no!

- Oh, and they're wimpled, done!

Jozen made a perfect jump,

but with all his momentum,

his feet just slipped right out from under him.

Then Alec overcompensated by not stepping out far enough.

Now that's a foot fault.

And with that, the best the tennis trio can do

is hope to get one point.

- I'm stuck on here.

- Of course, Ian's got to make it to the exit door.

(dramatic music)

But now the final stair is down.

He almost got to the table,

but instead his foot dangerously grazed the lava.

- Shoot, it's hard.

(dramatic music)

- Oh, I did it.

That's a lot of work.

- It is a lot of work, but Ian's work isn't over.

He's still got three gaps to cross.

Ian's onto the circular table, well played.

- Whoa, whoa, whoa!

- And now Ian going for the painting of me.

It's a smart move from the Stanford graph.

He can use the painting to get onto the trunk,

a great way to bridge that five foot gap.

- I'm feeling stressed out now.

Oh no.

It just gets worse and worse.

- It does get worse,

because the stairs at the exit door

have sunk underneath the lava.

- All right.

I don't know if I can do this.

- Just one challenge remains,

but without the stairs, this is now a very long jump.

Can the former gymnastics champion

make the six foot leap and fault his team into glory?

- Yes, I made it.

- He's done it, game set and match.

- I feel good now, this is now solved.

- There was a lot to love about this run,

and it was advantage tennis trio

when Josin made it to the fireplace

and lowered the chandelier,

but the slickness of the lava took its toll

when Josin slipped coming out of the fireplace,

followed almost immediately by Alec,

a real double fault, but at least Ian aced the course.

- You know what, we could probably book

that those tickets to Wimbledon.

We could do that right now, right?

- Charge it.

- We can charge it.

- Get the points.

- Let's get that, let's get that going.

- I'm not sure I'd buy those tickets just yet, guys.

The tennis trio is indeed in first place,

but they only have one point,

and there are two more teams yet to play.

Our second team is three teachers from Northern California.

Say hello to Ray, Lindsay and Robbie.

- Me and Ray are probably the coolest teachers on campus.

All the students want to be in our class,

Miss Schroeder on the other hand is a little more strict.

- They get a little nervous

when they see her name on the schedule.

- Sorry.

- But we're being real.

- Sticks are high, we're nervous,

'cause between all of us,

that's 500 kids that are grossed us, hardcore,

and will never let us forget it.

And we're all just gonna have to live through it.

- I am a lone wolf in life, I'm independent,

you know, I rely on myself.

- Oh, woo!

- Hey guys, don't touch the floor,

because the floor is...

- Love on!

(bell dings)

- That's crazy.

- The teachers taking notes as they realize

this is harder than your average pop quiz.

- So, we're gonna step on that,

- Lindsay trying to solve her first problem,

the spinning bed.

And she's on!

Lindsay's students may be scared of her,

but she's clearly not scared of anything.

- Ray a bit more tentative.

But he's made it!

each rotation has to make her dizzier.

- I'm gonna try. - In that chair,

and then see if this is movable

that you could like knock it down.

- Robbie, you can go here, I think you'll make it,

and I got you.

- I think I'm gonna just say yolo and just try it.

Should we try it? - All right.

- Keep good, I wanna get to the next hill.

- Be safe, go, go, go.

Hey, remember the stairs go away.

Oh shoot, that's hella far.

It's actually a four-foot jump

onto a very slick landing area.

- I wanna need some of you to hold my hand.

You think you can do it?

That's what's up, that's what's up.

Okay, let's go, screw that.

I don't need dinner, kick that up, hey, kick that off.

- Oh, look at it, Lindsay, knock over those plates,

forget the kids, I'm scared of her.

- Know it?

- Down goes the mirror.

- That might draw something else.

You don't need to tie that rope.

- Ray's right, if Robbie can get to the rope,

he could lower the chandelier,

making his teammates crossing much easier.

But it's precarious to stop part of the course.

And he risks falling like Jozen and Alec both did.

- Should we try it?

- All right.

- Robbie looking for a way off that spinning bed.

- Really, y'all gotta do that, for real?

- Robbie gets blasted by Lava

in exactly the same part of the room

where Jozen got drenched.

Oh, I'm a simple man, I love watching this kind of stuff.

If loving this is wrong, I don't wanna be right.

- Guys, I could go that way,

or I could try to make this leap and bolt.

- Do you think you can make it to that?

I think you can get right there, Robbie.

- Robbie not liking what he sees as he eyes that rock.

But tennis player Jozen made it across and over to the rope.

Will Robbie do the same?

- Are you insane?

Oh, you're good, you're good.

- Is Robbie going lone wolf?

He jumped away from the rope.

Look at the height Robbie gets.

He leapt so far, he almost skipped a grade.

Robbie's not just a lone wolf, he's a lone kangaroo.

- Well, you gotta get over there, who else?

- I gotta do it.

- Ray, confronting his own vanity.

- How do you feel?

- Woo, I tell you guys, I'm scared of heights.

- That chair is under two feet tall.

I did not expect the fear of heights to come into play.

- All right, I'm good, I'm good, I'm good.

All right, how the heck is that gonna happen?

- I think we might have to go that way.

- Hey, Robbie, can you jump that way and get that,

pull that thing?

- Robbie chose a different path

to get to the rope than Jozen used.

There are a thousand different ways

to get across this room.

There's no one right way.

Although, as Jozen discovered, there are some wrong ways.

- Got it.

- Use that ledge, use that ledge, yeah.

Hey, that's what's up, that's what's up, that's what's up.

- Now Ray and Lindsay both have a much more direct path

to the chest by the exit,

but they need to hurry.

The first step of the stairs is gone.

That final jump will only get harder.

- Okay. - Robbie's nighttime job.

- Bruh. (laughing)

- All right, now do it, pull it, you gotta do it.

Time is up in the absence, you got this?

- Oh shoot.

- Oh, the rare simultaneous jump.

Robbie to the Shea's lounge,

Ray by a cone mirror to the chandelier.

- Hold up, I'm gonna switch. - Get your momentum.

- Ah, come on.

- Ray struggling to get the chandelier moving.

Robbie contemplating his next move.

It's a five foot jump to that circular table.

Oh my, the lone wolf almost joined

the great wolf pack in the sky.

Hey, okay.

He better hurry, that last step is almost gone.

Dude, how do people do this?

Oh, woo!

- Yes!

- And the lone wolf has made it across all alone.

And with a crossing time of 449,

Robbie has made it across faster

than Ian from the tennis trio.

The teachers have moved into first place,

but one point is a much and there's another team to come.

- Push it.

Oh shoot.

- Hey, you're gonna have to take a leap of faith, bro.

- Ray reaching out, he's got his foot on the box.

Can he hold on?

- Use one of your legs to push it back to her.

Oh, I couldn't.

- Ray unable to return the favor.

- Got the pole, got the pole.

- But Lindsay doesn't need help,

she's on the chandelier.

- Ray.

- You're there, it's like you can't move.

You gotta go over there.

- That's slippery.

- Bro, when you land, boom, just got a squat.

But could you stretch your, stretch on strong, bro,

stretch on strong, too short.

- Take a step, take a step.

- You're gonna slide, yeah.

- I'm just gonna go, I'm just gonna go.

- The circular table is covered in slick lava.

Too much momentum will lead to disaster.

(dramatic music)

- Yeah, you got it.

- Ray's got it, and now Lindsay has a place to aim for.

- Chill.

Ray, don't let the lava scare you, remember?

- Her swinging momentum is dissipated,

this could be trouble.

(dramatic music)

- Oh.

My science time!

- Oh no, it was trouble.

- Lindsay, a science teacher proving that gravity works

as she plummets headfirst onto the table and into the lava.

There you have it, kids, physics in action.

With Lindsay out, the best the teachers can hope for

is two points.

- Hey, hey, there's no stairs?

I'm gonna catch you.

- Yeah, yeah.

- If we need it, I think you can make it though.

- Overall, the teachers get good grades for their effort.

Lone Wolf Robbie led the pack in record time.

Lindsay couldn't swing a passing grade

and Ray might've been on the slow track,

but he still managed to graduate from the course.

- I don't know if I can show up to school

the next day if we fail.

I am scared to death of all this,

not just the 508th graders,

but the entire school is actually watching this.

So two of us finished.

I think we got a shot at this.

- And with that magna cum lava performance,

the teachers are at the head of the class with two points,

but there's one team left to go.

Our last competitors are three old school dads

whose kids play together on the same little league team.

Meet Scott, Andy, and Mike.

- We know each other because we've spent

the past four or five years.

Initiate the baseball field,

all of our kids play ball together.

- And we all live within a block of each other.

Go to church together.

- Three, four times a year, we'll do some Spartan races,

kill ourselves up a Big Bear Mountain,

and then on the off season,

once every three weeks or so,

we'll manicure Scott's beard.

- Yes.

- People give us grief for being dads.

You say, "Oh, you're old, you know,

"you got a dad bod."

I mean, look at this dad bod, that's outstanding.

We're vintage, we're old school,

that's just how we operate.

- Baseball, Chevrolet, and Apple Pie.

- With our money winnings,

we got some good plans.

I got this 1972 Winnebago,

it's like the most ridiculous RV you've ever seen.

It's so awesome.

But I'm gonna be fixing that up a little bit,

maybe a paint job, maybe like a flame job.

- Some new Shad carpet in the back,

Remember, if they can get all three players across,

they'll win outright.

But if they can only get two across,

the tiebreaker is time.

- Scott's sending some signals to Andy.

He wants him to make a move to the vanity.

Go in the end.

Okay, now we gotta figure out this, dude.

- Can you swing on the chandelier?

- I can't reach the chandelier from here.

- Oh, yeah, we can use that stuff.

- I don't know, they're gonna be here for a reason, right?

- Just hit it, Andy.

- Rules clearly state that everything in the course

is in play, but that doesn't mean everything

on the course is useful.

- Oh, man.

- Hold on, can I come up here with you, Andy?

Okay, I'm gonna make a move here.

- Yeah, hang on.

- Don't knock him off.

- Mike, looking to jump to the vanity.

- You can brace me.

- It's a risky move, 'cause if Mike comes

with too much force, they're both going

straight into the lava.

- So maybe we go on?

- You can hit him.

- Okay, maybe I oversold that.

- I don't know where you tried to go.

I'm thinking we'll just kinda go that way.

I'm gonna go to the bed to this.

- Mike's starting to make his way

to the rope by the fireplace,

but at the same point in the teachers run,

Robbie was already at the fireplace.

- Okay, I'm good, I'm good, baby.

I'm gonna go here.

- Okay, but the bed is much higher

than the ottoman, not an easy leap.

- All right, let's go.

- Yeah, yeah.

- He lands it.

- That is tough, dude.

That's hard.

- But now it's a race against motion sickness to get off.

- I think if he grabs that rope,

then something might happen.

- Okay, okay, okay, okay, Mike.

- Yeah, I'm listening.

If you can get over there, grab the rope.

- You gotta go for that rope, dude.

- That's what I'm gonna try to do.

Hey, just jump on that table and grab it.

- Yeah.

- Yeah, stay in one place.

- Oh, a face full of lava.

This has been a very geologically active part of the room.

Robbie and Jozen both got drenched here too,

and Jozen paid a price later.

Mike's across to the trunk.

Look at that slick lava just dripping right off of him.

- Stream me across that.

- That's a big jump, dude.

- It's six feet to that rock,

but Mike has little traction,

and you wanna come in standing up.

- Just like Little League.

You make it happen, let's go.

Come on, Mike, come on, Mike.

- I think my best bet is I'm gonna go here to here to there.

- Well, we gotta move, though, we gotta move.

- Mike is so close to the rope,

which activates the chandelier,

but instead he's heading toward the exit.

It's seven feet to the Shea's lounge,

but it's an easier place to land.

- Let's go.

- She's belly flopping.

- We gotta move.

Dude, time, time, time, time, let's go, let's go, let's go.

You got it, you got it, one, two.

- Yeah, Mike.

I'm just gonna go.

- Mike has to be careful.

That end table looks slick.

- Yeah, Mike. - But he lands it.

- Yeah, go, go, go, go, go.

I'll follow.

- Andy heading back to the fore poster,

and he's got it.

- Hold on, hold on, hold on.

- Oh, the lava's thrown some high heat at Scott.

- Let's go.

- Mike facing a five foot leap to a trunk

coated in slick lava.

Can he score the team's first point?

Oh, oh no, so close.

Things looked promising for Mike as he leapt to the trunk,

but he was simply too slick to have any traction.

A great effort, maybe too great as he couldn't hold on.

With Mike gone, it's up to Scott and Andy now.

- You can get the rope, dude, I'll go this way.

- Yeah, Andy, yeah, Andy.

- Even if they both make it across,

they'll have to beat the teacher's time of 8.35.

The race is on.

Did Andy just try and head fake the lava?

(dramatic music)

Oh, a hard hit, but he's on.

- Ow.

- Andy's body is taking a beating on these jumps
