(RUMBLING)

MAN-AT-ARMS: The next thing I knew,

Rohad was pulling me out of the machine.

And then, like he knew what was about to happen,

he pulled me behind a metal lab counter.

And then things blew from here to the Vine Jungle.

And that's the strange part.

I had ruined his whole experiment,

and yet he wasn't a bit angry. (LAUGHING)

He praised me for my eagerness and told me,

"Sometimes, before you can make something work,

"you have to know how it doesn't work."

(CHUCKLES)

He saved my life.

I hope we can do the same for him.

We better be mighty careful.

There are giant flying Takdryls in these swamps.

Those big birds don't like people

traveling through their swamplands.

The Takdryls don't trust them.

And I'm not sure I trust the Takdryls.

(SHRIEKING)

Probably protecting its nest.

Here it comes again.

I've seen swirls in this fog

that could have pulled down one of those birds.

They could do the same to the Raider.

I think we just hit a swirl.

That wasn't so bad.

(CRASHING)

So much for smooth landings.

Those swirls short-circuited our main power.

It'll take days to fix it,

and we don't have days.

(CREATURE SHRIEKING)

Just what we didn't need, a hungry Mandrone.

I hope we can outrun it to the Narrows.

(SHRIEKING)

No such luck.

(CAWING)

We'll never lose him that way.

This may be just the thing.

(SHRIEKS)

Now, big friend, swoop around him.

(CAWING)

It won't take him long to get loose,

so onward through the Narrows.

MAN-AT-ARMS: Hold on, friend, just a little longer, please.

(SHRIEKING)

Father, he's here!

And if it hadn't been for a brave TakdryI

which I'm sorry to say has probably been chewed to pieces by now

by an unfriendly Mandrone,
