It's the day after the couples' retreat...

and following an intense week away,

our newlyweds are getting ready

for the fifth dinner party of the experiment.

Oh, as much as I can be ready. (LAUGHS)

For Chris and Sam, the time spent away has left its mark.

You have a hickey on your neck. Yeah, who do you think...

That's right. It's a great step.

And, you know, like, there's times I've gotten in my head, like,

"Am I ever gonna have those feelings

"to want to take it to the next level?"

knowing that I am a bit of a slower burn,

so it's a bit of relief in a way that those feelings did come,

as I knew they would, which is, like,

what I was trying to explain to Chris the whole time.

(LAUGHS)

So, the girls and I were talking and there's, like, a black cat

and a golden retriever in a relationship.

Black cat is the one that's, like, you know, seductive,

a bit of a mystery, doesn't give away too much

and then there's, like, the golden retriever

that lays on its back and it's, like, "Pat me, I'm here.

"Like, give me your attention."

And usually I'm black cat

and I have realised that in this relationship with Sam

I'm the golden retriever because I'm, like, "I'm ready.

"Like, come and give me some affection."

So, to have that next step in the relationship

on the intimacy side of it

has just given me reassurance that, yeah, Sam's into me

as much as I'm into him.

Yeah, it feels good, yeah, so I'm feeling good.

We should not tell anyone about this straight away

and it can be our lifeline.

Like, if it gets too hectic, I'll just stand up

and be, like, "Alright, everyone, we have something to announce."

Bec and Danny's disappearance from the retreat

is still fresh in their minds.

We woke up on the last morning of the retreat -

Bec and Danny weren't there.

We don't know where they went, we don't know if they're still here.

I think maybe she's trying to scheme

some, like, sympathy points from people but...

On the last night of the retreat, Juliette's behaviour wasn't great.

She got into a fight with Bec

and she said some nasty things to her.

I was just saying what everyone else was thinking

and what everyone else was telling me all retreat.

I'm the only one that was, like, brave enough to stand up for it.

(SIGHS) I mean, there's always regrets.

I feel like... Like, my delivery was probably...

I'm regretful of my delivery.

But I'm happy I stood up for myself.

Like, I heard all the stuff she kept saying about Rach

and mocking Rach and humiliating Rach behind Rach's back.

She's constantly trying to say negative things about Gia

to get in my head.

That's why I was, like,

"Right, that's two people I care about now

"that you've been trying to mock, humiliate behind their back

"and I'm done with it.

Sometimes you just have to fight fire with fire.

You know my point of view and when I get into arguments with people,

I always like to keep it respectful.

So that's just my style.

In the back of my mind, there's always, like,

this ugly side to Juliette,

the side that gets a bit too aggressive

and gets a bit too nasty with the words she uses.

That side to Juliette is not a side that I like

and it's a side that I hope we can keep buried inside.

She wanted dramatics and she got dramatics.

She got sympathy from the others.

Like, I'm not falling for it.

NARRATOR: While Juliette has little sympathy for Bec...

Rachel and Steven are taking a more compassionate approach,

despite their friendship with Bec falling apart at the retreat.

I understand Bec and I had our thing at retreat

and I was quite hurt,

but no-one should be spoken to like that.

(SIGHS) My heart's reaching out to Bec right now

because I know how hurt I would be if I was in her situation.

I wasn't there when Juliette addressed Bec.

From what I know is this one comment that Juliette made,

calling her a dumb C-word.

And a freak, I think, was also thrown around as well.

I'm not impressed with Bec,

but I still don't want her getting called names like that...

Yeah. ..or freak or whatever.

Even though she really hurt you this retreat,

two wrongs don't make a right.

I would like to check in on Bec and be, like, "Are you OK?"

but I honestly don't think Bec wants anything to do with me.

You know, she made it really clear in the conversation,

like, we're no longer friends, we'll be civil,

so I don't know if she would want me to talk to her and just be, like,

"Hey, like, I heard what was said and that's not OK."

So, the question on everyone's lips, where is Bec and Danny?

All I know is that they left retreat. That's it.

JOHN: Well, here we are, dinner party number five

and it's one of my favourites... MEL: Mmm.

..because it comes after the couples' retreat,

which is such a pivotal part of this whole experiment.

ALESSANDRA: It's absolutely the first time

they actually really get to spend all day with one another

and I do think it's kind of like the closest to real life

they've had so far on the experiment.

All the couples get a front-row seat to the other couples.

MEL: And it's interesting, isn't it, to watch couples

to see whether they band together

and work as a team in that environment

or actually turn against each other,

which takes us back to the last dinner party with Joel and Juliette.

And, of course, sitting with them at the commitment ceremony...

JOHN: It was a shocker. That was rough.

..they were really on edge.

I'll be very interested to see what's happened with them

at the couples' retreat.

Are they still together? Yeah.

We like to give them real-world challenges...

and going away outside of their normal comfort zone

having to mix and mingle with people that they don't really know that wel

you do see some alliances, some new fresh friendships

but you also see some major conflict with people.

This is a interesting way of viewing the whole thing.

Yes. So, what has happened here?

STELLA: I'm very strategically keeping away from everyone.

SCOTT: Gia was hanging out with the boys.

I'm keeping myself away from all of this drama

because I see women changing their opinions and friendships

and how they talk about each other every 30 seconds.

My behaviour and my opinion doesn't change about people that quick.

FILIP: We got glimpses of, like... Everyone was getting along.

The day times were sick. Getting to know people.

Like, I got to know a lot more about you.
