She filed a complaint against Rebecca

after reviewing her financial statements where she found some discrepancies.

Which led to an investigation that ultimately shut down her firm.

Rebecca knew about

Miss Weston's communication with her biological son and about her millions.

So she set up a plan. Intercept the letters.

And since they had never met in person, find a fake Theo and get rid of

Miss Weston, to steal her fortune.

She blackmail her ex-boyfriend, a doctor with a bit of a shady past

into using his medical background and posing as fake Theo.

To get rid of Miss Weston so they could claim the money she set aside for her son.

And if he helped her, they'd split the fortune.

Or so Rebecca told him.

Miss Weston was communicating with the fake Theo for months.

She had her doubts, so she tried to contact Theo using the old address.

But they were intercepted by Rebecca.

She'd shared this information with John Grey.

He was doing what he could to help her, even if he didn't know all of the details.

And she wanted to return the favor.

Miss Weston was suspicious.

So she hid the whereabouts of her fortune in a place no one would find it.

Even her crooked estate manager. In her first home in Prescott.

Along with the addresses for who she believed to be her real son.

And set me up with everything.
