[Emma] I'm gonna call him... Spots.

[Tim] Look, Emma, he's got a friend.

[Tim] This is his very first day in the world.

[Emma and Tim] Aww.

[Emma] Look, Spots is learning how to walk.

[Emma] Whoops.

[Emma] Tim, is that his daddy?

[Tim] Yup, he's the King of the Forest.

He's making sure Spots is okay.

[Emma] Aw, and there's his mommy.

Spots is just like me when I was a baby.

First, some milk, and then a bath, and then a night-night.

[Tim] There, no one can see him. That's called camouflage.

[lively music]

[Tim] Look, Spots' mom is showing him around so he doesn't ever get lost.

[Emma] Is Spots in school now?

[Tim] Yup, his mom's teaching him all the secret tracks.

[cow mooing]

[Tim imitates cow]

[Emma and Tim laugh]

[Tim] Time for another lesson with Mom.

[Emma] Hmm, no, thanks, I'm full.

[Tim] Spots has to be careful not to eat the bad plants.

[Emma] But how can he tell which ones are bad?

[Tim] He just needs to watch his mom.

And see? He likes it.

[calm music]

[Emma] Wow, is that Spots?

[Tim] It is. He's really big now, isn't he?

[Emma] Look, there's another one.

I'm gonna call him Brownie.

[Emma] Oh, yay, Spots and Brownie are friends.

[Tim] Looks like Brownie wants to go for a race.

[Emma] Spots does too. But first, bathroom break.

[Emma and Tim chuckle]

[Emma] "You like my new hairstyle?"

[Emma and Tim laughing]

[Spots bellows]

[Emma] is it time for Spots to become the King of the Forest?

[Tim] Hmm, almost.

It's time to see who's the strongest.

[bellows]

[Emma] I want it to be Spots.

Look how beautiful he is.

[epic music]

[Emma] You can do it!

[splashing]

[Emma] Yes! Spots won.

[bellows]

[Tim] And we have our new champion. Yes!

[Tim] If I were an animal, I'd wanna be a lynx.

They're a super rare feline.

[Emma] Aw, look, they're so cute.

I'm gonna call 'em... Lily and Bob.

[panting]

[Tim] Look, Bob's ready to explore.

[Emma] And Lily's the best at cuddles.

[Tim] Do you see that, Emma? He's found something.

I wonder what it is.

[Emma] But he doesn't like to stay away from his family for too long.

[comical music]

[growling]

[Emma and Tim laughing]

[Emma] Look out, Bob, Lily knows karate.

[Tim] Whoa, Lily and Bob have changed a lot in just a month.

But they're still little.

[Emma] What do you have there, Bob? Is that your blankie?

[Tim] It's a really furry blankie.

He's playing hide and seek.

When he's older, he's gonna have to hide food and find it later.

[playful music]

[Emma] Uh-oh, are they angry?

[Tim] No, they're just playing. That's how they get their hunting skills.

[Emma] Phew, all that training made them tired.

[Emma and Tim chuckle]

[Emma] Hmm, why is her mom taking Lily away?

[Tim] 'Cause it's time for food.

[calm music]

[yawns]

[Emma] Look, her ears are like my paintbrushes.

[Tim] That's how we can tell she's lynx.

But I don't think she can paint with those.

[growls]

-[Emma] Is that Lily and Bob? -[Tim] Yup.

[snarling]

[Tim] Six months later,

they're still training to the defend themselves in the wild.

[Emma] It must be fun to learn by playing all the time.

[upbeat music]

[Emma] They're getting really good at this game.

[Tim] Yeah, they've gotta practice sneaking up on other forest creature.

[Emma] Well, I'm on Lily's team.

[Tim] Then I'll be on Bob's team.

It's his turn to hide.

[Emma] Ready or not, here we come.

[Tim] Come on, Bob, they're winning.

[Tim] One, two, three...

[Tim] Lynx are really good climbers.

But Bob must have forgotten that part or else he'd look up.

[Tim chuckles]

[Emma] If she didn't climb down, her brother would never find her.

[Tim] Ugh, she won again.

Nice one, Lily.

[purring]

[Emma] If I were a lynx, I'd play hide and seek all the time.

[Emma] Is Bob going for a swim?

[Tim] I don't think so, Emma.

Anyway, he doesn't look like he's in the mood.

[Emma] It looks like he wants a snow cone.

[Tim] That's how he gets his water in the winter.

[lively music]

[Emma] Lily and her mom must be in their den keeping warm.

[Tim] Actually, Lynx love the cold.

They have giant paws that stop them from sinking in the snow.

[dreamy music]

[Emma] Bob's bored without his sister just like you when I'm not there.

-[Emma] Right, Tim? -[Tim chuckles]

[Emma] Go on, go find Lily. Bye-bye, Bob.

[calm music]

[Emma] If I were an animal, I'd wanna be a wildebeest.

[Emma and Tim] Aww, a baby.

[Emma] I'll call little-miss- hooves-in-the-air, Whitney.

[bleats]

[Emma] Look, Tim, she's already trying to stand.

[Tim] That's right.

And her mother is walking ahead to show her how it's done.

[Emma] Whoa, she was just born and she's almost running.

Good job, Whitney.

[Emma] Uh-oh.

[Tim] Where did Whitney go?

[bleating]

[Emma] She isn't scared of anything.

[Tim] Watch out, that's not your mother, Whitney.

[Emma and Tim chuckle]

[bleats]

[Emma and Tim] Whoa.

[Emma] Aww, that's so cute.

But won't mama worry?

[lively music]

[Emma] Tim, do wildebeest babies and lions usually snuggle?

[Tim] No, normally wildebeest are afraid of them.

[Emma] The lioness must be a momma too.

I think she has a soft spot for Whitney.

[bleats]

[Tim] No, Whitney, if you're hungry

you're gonna have to go find your own mother.

[bleats]

[Emma] Her mama's scared to come closer.

[bleating]

[Tim] That's true, but look, the lioness is trying to make Whitney understand

she needs to go back to her mother.

[Emma and Tim] Aww.

[Emma] Do you think her mama is mad?

[Tim] She was worried but the lioness took good care of her baby.

[bleats]

[comical music]

[Emma] Do you think they know each other?

[Tim] No, but this jackal sure seems friendly.

[jackal hollering]

[Tim] "Hey, you wanna play, Whitney? Come on."

[Emma] "Hmm, I dont know."

[Tim] "Let's go."

[Emma] "Oh, okay."

-[Whitney bleats] -[jackal whimpers]

[Emma] Huh?

[squeaks]

[Tim chuckles]

[Tim] Whitney didn't really understand the game.

Maybe when she's a bit older.

[calm music]

[Emma] Whitney, you've had so many adventures.

And it's just your first day.

[snorts]

[bleating]

[Emma] Hey, look who's jumping around, it's our silly friend Whitney.

[Tim] That's what wildebeest do when they're in a good mood.

Their nickname is "Clowns of the Planes."

[Emma] That make sense.

Oh, hello, little miss lioness.

[lively music]

[bleating]

[Emma] Where is everybody going?

[Tim] Well, once a year,

all the wildebeest meet up with the zebras and gazelles

and they leave on a big journey.

It's the Great Seasonal Migration.

[Emma] if I were a wildebeest,

I'd love going on road trips with all my friends.

[Tim] Whoa, first one to the other side wins.

[Emma] I think Whitney's a little spooked by the water.

[Tim] There's a strong current so it's hard to get across.

[grunt]

[Emma] Yeah, Whitney, you can do it you're almost there.

[Tim] Whoops. [chuckles]

[Emma and Tim] Good job, Whitney. Have a great trip.

[Emma] If I were an animal, I'd wanna be a European badger.

[Tim] Then you'd live in a cozy burrow in the forest.

[Emma] Aww, his markings make him look so handsome.

[Emma] Where is he going in such a hurry, Tim?

[Tim] I think he's going to visit someone.

[sniffing]

[Emma] Oh, look another badger.

[upbeat music]

[Emma chuckles] Maybe that's his girlfriend.

[Tim] She is. She's guarding the den while he's away.

[Tim] Ah, finally.

[Emma] I'm gonna call her Betsy.

[Emma] Tim, why is she digging?

[Tim] Badgers are burrowing animals.

[Emma giggles] "Burrowers."

[Tim] That means they're experts when it comes to making holes and tunnels.

But right now, Betsy's looking for a snack.

[Emma] Dig in.

[Emma] Betsy's had babies.

They have such soft fur.

[Tim] Yeah, badgers are born with soft fur to keep them warm.

And they don't open their eyes till they are month old.

[coos]

[Emma] Oh, look at this cutie, I'll call him Blaze.

His paws look like little hands.

[Tim] More like mini shovels. Those paws are perfect for digging.

[calm music]

-[Emma] She sure is itchy. -[Tim] Sure is.

[Tim] In the wild, badgers have to scratch and wash away fleas and other bugs.

[Emma] That's hard work.

[sniffing]

[Emma] Huh? I think Blaze wants to leave.

[sniffing]

[Tim] He's two months old now,

which means it's time for him to practice his scratching and digging.

[rustling]

[Emma] If I were a badger, I'd scratch and dig all day.

[Tim] "Come on, kids, I've lots more to show you."

[squeals]

[Emma] Wow, Blaze is all grown up.

[Emma] What is he doing?

[Tim] He's looking for something to eat.

[Tim] ♪ Scratch and dig ♪ ♪ And scratch and dig ♪

[Emma] Huh?

[Emma] What are you doing, Mr. Fox?

Do you wanna come over to Blaze's house?

[Tim chuckles]

[Tim] Actually, European badgers

sometimes share their burrows with other animals, like foxes.

[Emma] But this fox is so clingy.

Good hiding spot, Blaze.

[Tim] It's okay, he shook him off.

[sniffing]

[calm music]

[Tim] Ah, he's back home with his brothers and sisters.

[Emma] They're so silly.

[Tim] This kind of badger lives with their family their whole life.

[Emma] That way, they can play forever.

[Tim] I think Blaze has had enough for today.

[Emma] He's ready for a comfy nap in his house.

[Emma and Tim chuckle]
