Going to Israel under any circumstances would have been exciting.

But arriving on the 35th anniversary of its independence from the state was

overwhelming.

All of us were affected by the strength, courage, and will of the Israeli

people, feeling that we carried with us back home.

But what was truly wonderful about our stay was the warmth expressed to us at

every place we visited along the way.

We talked and listened to people our own age, ignoring the language barrier for

the entire time we were there.

And I know we learned one thing about the people who live in this world.
