more than a decade for the two of us to

half the reason is because I'm terrified

of the hot wings, and the other half is
because we're both busy. So I'm excited

we can make it work.

So psychology is woven into the fabric

classic ethical debates like the trolley
problem, which was featured in season

one. Yeah. What, if anything, have you
learned about human behavior hosting

show? Like, are there any patterns
you've observed?

you would think people would be way more
ruthless than they are. That's what

I've noticed watching the video. The way
people sacrifice themselves for the

team, it happens much more often than I
think. Exactly. And so we have the

largest cash prize in history they're
competing for, yet sometimes people do

something that worsens their odds.

Help a friend they just met two weeks
ago. And so, honestly, BCM kind of

out my faith in humanity quite a bit
because I'm like, wow.

that person just turned down a million
dollars for these strangers and so i

don't know but there's also double side
of it because they know the show's going

to get tens of millions of views and so
they're also worried about how they'll

be portrayed on it so it's not also just
you know helping people out but it's so

it's interesting to see all these
dilemmas and to see what people care

more than others um and then the really
funny part is seeing like on tick tock

after we drop these things everyone's
like no i would have just taken a

dollars and so it's kind of funny
because that's what people say but then

they're in that spot they always act
differently

what's the most you've ever put yourself
in the noble pursuit of entertainment?

So there's three things I hate. I really
hate being in the sun because I'm

we did a video of seven days on Desert

Island, it was basically everything I
hate, like being sleep deprived. And

I also really hate insects, like having
bugs bite you is annoying. And so on day

two, on seven days on Desert Island, I
woke up after sleeping on the beach. I

didn't know sand fleas were a thing. And
my leg is just covered with thousands

of little, I thought I was going to die.
I was like, what?

Like everywhere from my waist down, just
like bug bites everywhere.

I mean, I couldn't see my skin there so
much. And then I was like slightly

sunburned and I was really hot. And I
was like, nah, I'm out. I'm out. So I

quit. It's one of the few times I've
ever quit a challenge.

And I was just like, no, we got to go
back. And we went back out there and we

did it.

That first time, like, it was the most
miserable I've ever felt in my life.

My nose is, like, dripping snot. I don't
know if that's a side effect, but let's

keep going.

not gatekeeping the lessons that you've
learned along the way. So, if you'll

I do think the background's a little
noisy, especially because if you were to

shrink that thumbnail down for a
phone... Wow, my tongue is actually

need to stop letting this touch my

It would be kind of hard to tell.

So maybe just a little less noisy
background. But for the most part, this

what people have come to expect from
your brand. So it'd be weird if you

deviated too much, to be honest.

If there was going to be an evolution or
change, I think it would have to stem

from you because...

People can tell when it's authentic to
you. Hot Ones is you. You know, there's

no Hot Ones without Sean and Vice versa.
So it's like, if it doesn't come from

you and the audience doesn't feel that,
they're just going to revolt. So I can

say whatever, but honestly, whatever I
say, if you actually did it, it would

just piss them off.

You know what I mean?

Do you have a take on the way the legacy
chocolate giants have reacted to

upstarts like yours? And are you at all
motivated by rivalry?

A big part of Feastables is there's over
1 .5 million kids in illegal child

labor. And Cote d 'Ivoire in Ghana,
where almost all the world's cacao comes

from, it's in West Africa.

And so I actually talked to a lot of
other big chocolate companies, and

just kind of like, yeah.

Child labor is just how you get cacao.

There's nothing you can do about it.

So anyways, I'll save the long story,
but that's why with Feastables, we pay

our farmers a living income reference
price. We use fair trade beans, but in

exchange, they have to let us audit and
remediate the child labor on the farm.

So we do sourcing completely different
than big chocolate companies do. So I

imagine they're not the happiest because
now that we're doing that and we're

proving that you can ethically source
the cacao, it shows that they could. If

they wanted to, they just don't.

Would you believe me if I told you we're
at the halfway mark?

that you create for yourself can be

Do you ever think about the ceiling of
that, or is the constantly accelerating

spectacle the thing that's fun for you?

Yeah,

so we do always, while speaking, while

We do always one -up everything, but the
thing I think most people look at one

-upping yourself as linear.

The only way to do it is to give away
more money or do a bigger set, which we

quite a few times, increase your prize
pool or build bigger sets.

You're right, it is getting harder to

People have seen me give away a bunch of
money, a bunch. They've seen me build

big sets, a ton.

Now, the thing that will keep them
coming back, because eventually they'll

numb to those two things, I think is
good stories that make you feel

And that's been my main focus. And
that's like theoretically a lever over

if that makes sense.

that much to you where you can't

envision yourself being happy unless you
achieve it. And I think maybe you'd

really, really love what you do and love
creating content, like, You're going

to, if you were in my shoes, you would
get trapped in a hell accidentally.
