We know the drugs originate from Southeast Asia.

What we hope to do is identify other people that are involved

and how the drugs are actually ending up in St. Louis.

What we normally see GHB associated with is date rape,

sexual assault cases, human trafficking cases.

So it's of interest just because of the negative impacts

that surround the use of it.

We already have cover in place.

We already have our pre-surveillance units already in place.

What'll happen is our UC,

the undercover, he will be making positive contact

and conducting a transaction.

It looks like the UC's, uh,

parking his vehicle directly across from target location.

UC's out of the vehicle. Rescue team on standby.

A lot of these, these deals,

a lot of the hand-to-hand deals

aren't necessarily done in a public location.

Nowadays, with technology and, and everyone with cameras,

what we're seeing more and more is it's, it's a common practice

that they're going to do it within, like, the,

the private confines of, of a residence

or, uh, places that aren't easily accessible by the public.

Unfortunately, this is always a challenge, though, for us

because we got to ensure really the priority of the safety

of the UC when conducting these, uh, illegal transactions.

another shipment coming in

from, uh, what he claimed to be Malaysia,

which is consistent with our intel we got

And we're going to start heading back to our staging location

to, uh, debrief and, uh, process the evidence.

Right now, we don't plan on doing any type of an arrest.

What we're trying to do is build up a probable cause

that we need for a search warrant.

We'll be submitting all the evidence

to the US Attorney's Office for review, and, hopefully,

it'll meet all the criteria that they need

for pushing it further for indictments and warrants later.

So at this time, we're still in the process

of running it through the x-ray machine.

How does the tank look?

The vehicle is clear.

and it will be a penalty for obstructing

a federal inspection, which he was doing.

This GHB right now,

based on the investigation,

what they're doing is, it originated from Malaysia.

They're bringing it in, uh, through international mail.

And to avoid, uh, detection,

they're putting it in lotion bottles.

So this is called a Gemini.

It's a thorough scientific... It's our drug tester.

It's a database that's inside that reads, you know,

thousands of substances.

The laser is able to read the substances

when we add it here.

And it actually gets to analyze it

without us having to get danger close to the substances.

We have a good idea of what we're dealing with,

but you never know for sure.

We're weighing that bottle

and go ahead and process and seize that as evidence.

The investigation so far has gone extremely well.

We're very happy with where we're at.

And what we hope to use is all the evidence

from the undercover buys that we've done

to get the probable cause to do a search warrant.

for GHB,

commonly known as a date rape, being, um,

imported into the US through Southeast Asia.

We've conducted numerous buy walks,

uh, into this residence, identified multiple targets

that are dealing this throughout the St. Louis metro area.

So, hoping to seize GHB, money, and any other, um,

incriminating evidence of their, uh,

narcotics entity here in St. Louis.

We're going to be executing a search warrant.

That search warrant's going to be the finality of everything,

what it's all led up to with all the, uh,

undercover buys that we've done.

We already have, uh, pre-surveillance

that was already set up on the, on the target residence,

just so we could give real-time information

to the SWAT team that's going to be hitting it.

And then when they go ahead

and execute the search warrant on the premises,

once they're done clearing everything,

then we will basically kind of go in

and start our systematic search of the residence.

GHB is an extremely intoxicating drug

that can totally, uh, incapacitate somebody

against their will.

So it's important to stop the import into America.

This is what we've been working for,

and it can go a couple different ways.

We can, uh, take these targets into custody

and, uh, they might want to cooperate

and help us further expand our case

'cause at the end of the day, our goal is

transnational and international crime.

Anytime that we're doing any type of an op,

there's always those, those, uh, those pre-jitters

and you just kind of have the butterflies.

Um, obviously, this isn't a game.

You have people whose lives are on the line.

And so, you have the confidence in your guys,

you have the confidence in the team.

But there's always just those unexpected unknowns

that can occur, and that's what

always makes me nervous.

You're not in control of what they're going to do

and it's, it's kind of that

hope for the best, but you're always, always prepared for the worst.

And basically, we're just looking for anomalies.

Vehicles have a lot of empty voids:

doors, quarter panels, fenders, bumpers, tires.

we're making sure that there's nothing there.

These packages, usually when most of them are the same,

it's going to be the same type of drug.

The important thing is we don't miss any in here.

It doesn't look like there's any more in this area.

It doesn't matter how much damage we have to do

if we're trying to find something.

Sometimes they hide it in here.

They use factory compartments and non-factory compartments.

We took two people into custody.

They're believed to be the only two inside the residence right now.

However, uh, just to be safe

and do our due diligence, uh,

SWAT's going to clear out the house, do secondaries

and once they deem it, uh, secure,

then they're going to turn it over for us.

Searching the whole entire residence,

looking for any type of contraband or evidence

of, uh, illicit narcotic sales.

- Nothing. - Okay, we're clear.

- There's nobody in there. - That's good. Perfect.

I'm assuming there's probably some stuff underneath their bed

- 'cause of the way it's built. - Okay.

So, but back there was a pretty big cavity underneath the slats.

Alright. And you said there's a safe in the bedroom as well?

There might be. I didn't go into the bedroom.

I just kind of stood outside of there.

Let's do a walkthrough and see what we got.

We have two different interview teams

right now talking to the arrestees

to try to, um,

get any more information out of them

to see if we can further this investigation

and adjust the search warrant.

So, hopefully, we can expand

to not just this house,

but to try to make it go international.

that we seized from the house, so quite a bit.

So now after, uh, we seized it here,

now we're going to go back to the office, um,

and start to process, go through it, um,

get it into our evidence system

for tracking and accountability purposes.

So all in all, it went well.

and she said these were special varieties

that she hasn't been able to easily find here

in the United States.

There was no fine associated with this. She did declare it.

Had it been the case where Phillip found it

and we brought her in and she didn't declare it,

she might have received a civil penalty,

but in this case, she was upfront with us about it.

'Cause when we're doing our inspection, on primary,

that's the first place we look is right in front of us.

Same kind as the rest of the vehicle.

Trying to get these last couple out.

Looks like all of them. It doesn't feel like there's any more.

This, they cut it out right here. You can tell by the cuts.

And that's how they place them in.

One, two, three, four.

Yeah, right now, like, uh, the drugs are most important.

We'll get 'em tested and call the agent,

and then we can inspect the rest of the vehicle

because at this point, we feel like there's nothing else,

but we'll double-check, just to make sure every spot is empty.

We're going to do a narcotics test kit

just to get a positive result to be able to contact the agent

and get the case rolling.

I'll test for cocaine first.

So I'm going to get some of it out of here.

You don't need too much but just a little bit to make sure.

Close this up and we're going to seal it.

If it's cocaine, it'll be blue on the bottom

and pink on the top.

So what we're going to do is, um, break the ampule,

get the drugs in there really good, break the ampule,

and then kind of irritate it.

Cocaine. It shows that it's positive for cocaine.

I'm going to go weigh it now.

The last one.

After this, we put 'em in boxes,

we send 'em in to our narcotics vault.

After the case is over,

they'll end up destroying all the narcotics.

We contacted HSI, they're on their way over here

to interview the subjects.

So it was a real big, uh, team effort

from the K9 officer to the AT-CET crew.

And then coming to the secondary lot,

the x-ray operator, everybody made it happen today.

That'll be the last one.

That was a really unique load that we got today.

And the cartel definitely doesn't like it

when we get the cocaine. It's the most expensive drug

and, uh, whoever is waiting for these packages

is probably going to be really upset.

The fun part's all done.

Everything we already field tested on scene.

And so it's-- now it's just processing,

doing the paperwork, cleaning it up,

and onto the next.

This was the first thing that we noticed was, was these.

Both of these have the GHB, and then there was two boxes.

And then I cut open the boxes and each box was in the Mylar.

We cracked those open and surprise.

When we've done our undercover operations in the past,

we've yielded bottles like this, which we knew that they were,

uh, smuggling them into the country.

These are all unsealed.

We did a systematic search of the residence.

We found a lot of evidence in the bedroom,

and the bulk amounts of GHB were located in the office.

And when we talk about the bulk amounts,

we're talking full bottles ready to be pieced out

and distributed in smaller amounts.

What it just shows is they got a lot of GHB.

This isn't just something that they're just doing on the side

as a, as a hobby or anything like that.

They're doing this to distribute.

And then just in the same location of the GHB

was the, uh, revolver there.

I think that's a .357.

And then we found a whole bunch of meth in different areas.

Stuff that was already individually packaged

like they were going to sell it.

And then we found some larger stuff.

The suspects were already interviewed, um, right when we were doing the search.

These two individuals were

a large source of supply for this.

It looks like we're going to just kind of collect all that evidence,

put it in a nice package for the US attorney,

and then submit that for review for them.

And, hopefully, we'll be coming down with indictments

on those individuals.

We've never really encountered, uh, that much GHB.

And so, to see that much that we seized today,

it makes you sit there and really think how many people

were being maybe victimized by this.

And so what I'm proud of the guys on, really,

is that we absolutely put a big dent

in the flow of the drugs, especially GHB,

coming into and being distributed

in the city of St. Louis.
