Original subtitles

Let's bring it in, guys.

Okay.

I'll say "Agents of Mystery."

-Okay. -Hands in the air.

Agents of Mystery.

-Let's go! -Let's go!

In this adventure reality show,

six cast members will become field agents for a mysterious organization,

diving into bizarre, supernatural cases to carry out their missions.

The mysterious cases, locations, and missions

have all been meticulously planned by the creators,

but the six members are not given any prior information.

This is crazy.

Oh my gosh.

I think the gates of hell just opened.

These situations are a reality to them,

and they must take on their cases as such.

This is it!

You're amazing.

Stay tuned to see them in action.

What is this?

HYE-RI

I bet everything here is a clue.

I better get a move on.

-Eun-ji. -What is it?

I want to do my absolute best,

so I got about 12 hours of sleep last night.

HYE-RI: ESCAPE ROOM CONNOISSEUR, UNLUCKY ACE, ACTRESS

Hello.

LEE YONG-JIN

Stay there for now.

I'll do it since I pointed it out.

I'd like to be on the frontline for the team,

which involves a certain level of sacrifice.

Lead the way, Karina.

You're the youngest here.

Let's go.

LEE YONG-JIN: SELECTIVE FRONTLINER, INVOLUNTARY LEADER, COMEDIAN

-Look who's here. -Hi.

Hey.

JOHN PARK

I'm a big fan of puzzles

and brain teasers.

We did it together.

-I'll explain it to you. -Okay.

There are long dashes, dots, and short dashes.

Amazing.

Can you tell me what comes after the dot?

JOHN PARK: PUZZLE MASTER, PRO COMPETITION SURVIVOR, SINGER

Why are you both standing there?

I can't stay seated right now.

I don't know what to do with myself.

What are we supposed to do?

-Yong-jin. -Hi.

-Come on in. -Hello, everyone.

-Come in. -Hey, Eun-ji.

LEE EUN-JI

Hye-ri, Karina.

Can you keep up, Karina?

I always wanted to be a secret agent like Fox Mulder.

What's this?

I'm soaked to my underwear.

LEE EUN-JI: SYMPATHETIC GUARDIAN, FOX MULDER WANNABE, COMEDIAN

-What are we doing? -I don't know.

This feels weird.

-Hello. -Hi.

-Hey. -Hello.

KARINA

-You said you weren't scared. -Well...

I hope I can be helpful to the team.

-Anyone have a pen? -I do.

Here's a pen.

-I brought this with me. -Good call.

Wow, Karina. You're so quick-witted.

KARINA: QUICKEST AND YOUNGEST, SCARES EASILY, SINGER

-Hi. -Hello.

-Hello. -Welcome.

KIM DO-HOON

I've been waiting for this day.

We need to find something.

What's this?

What? What's that?

What could this be?

What in the world?

We'll let more water in.

Yong-jin.

Hye-ri!

KIM DO-HOON: OVERZEALOUS, INQUISITIVE, ACTOR

-Did they give you anything? -No, they didn't.

-Nothing at all? -No, nothing.

-Are you hiding something? -If you are, tell us now.

I have nothing on me.

-I got nothing. -Okay.

-I'm empty-handed. -They didn't tell me anything.

I haven't heard anything.

One of the writers gave me a glucose candy earlier.

-I got one too. -They gave me one as well.

In case your blood sugar gets low?

Careful though. They might make you pass out.

I already ate mine.

You might keel over. You can't trust anybody.

-I brought lip tint. -Me too.

-We can share then. -I brought a comb.

Nice.

So you're not empty-handed.

No one has their phone, right?

-I left mine. -They took it, right?

-They asked for it. -Really?

-They took mine. -Same here.

-Wait, I have mine. -What?

What are you going to do?

-I should've kept quiet. -He's a spy!

-"I should've kept quiet." -I'll put it away.

-He must be a spy. -He's too honest.

-He's got a conscience. -He's so honest.

He just left it outside.

What if we're allowed to use it in the first place?

I'd rather not have it.

It's best that none of us do.

Welcome.

Welcome.

We are an international organization

called the X Investigation Network,

or XIN for short.

-XIN? -XIN?

XIN investigates mysterious phenomena that occur all over the globe

and secretly solves such mysteries.

-So that's us? -Yeah.

We possess a device that can detect unique electric waves

emitted from an unknown substance,

which we call the X-Electric Waves.

-X-Electric Waves? -This device allows us

to find mysterious phenomena

and pinpoint their locations.

As agents of mystery,

you will be deployed to locations emitting X-Electric Waves

to get to the bottom of these cases

and complete the missions assigned to you.

I will now brief you on your mission.

An unusually high amount of X-Electric Waves

have recently been detected in the metropolitan area.

We have tracked the source to be a factory

on the outskirts of the city.

The factory is owned by Ko Gui-tae,

who was a suspect in a kidnapping case.

-He was a suspect. -He was arrested by the police

but eventually released due to insufficient evidence.

The factory is no longer in operation

and is known to have been abandoned.

However, over the last month,

three missing persons cases have been filed with the local police.

Are they all the same age?

They were born in 2004.

As all three missing persons have the exact same birth date,

these cases are presumed to be connected.

As the signal of one of their phones

was last tracked in the abandoned factory,

it seems likely that their disappearance is related to this factory.

Your mission of the day is two-fold.

First, investigate the mysterious phenomena

occurring in the abandoned factory.

Okay.

Second,

find out whether the three missing persons are alive

and rescue them if they are.

-Okay. -I hope they're alive.

In the drawer behind you,

you will find two-way radios and a camera.

The radios

will be the last mode of communication between agents in case of emergencies.

That sounds so scary.

My palms are sweaty.

Do we...

Do we all get one?

Are we beginning right away?

Just like this?

-The camera's for photographing evidence. -Right.

"Micro two-way radios."

"Place your device in the pouch and strap it to your ankle."

To our ankles?

That's what it says.

Before your deployment,

there is one more thing you must know.

We have developed a special device

to deploy you to the location.

-What is it? -It is...

the Teleport Chamber.

-What? -The Teleport Chamber?

That's so cool!

The chamber behind you

will allow you to teleport to any designated coordinates.

However,

there is a time limit to its teleportation.

The maximum amount of time you can spend at your destination

is six hours.

Six hours?

Five hours after you arrive at the scene,

the chamber will be ready for your return and its doors will automatically open.

The door will only stay open for 60 minutes.

Once the time is up,

the chamber will close and return to headquarters

with or without all agents on board.

-If we don't make it, we'll be... -MIA?

If you fail to return within the time limit,

you may face consequences such as dematerialization.

We have to be careful.

Therefore, you must return within the time limit.

The secrecy of our organization and agents

must not be exposed.

If you get caught in the process,

XIN will deny any involvement with this mission.

With that, I wish you good luck.

-Should we take these? -We should.

I have big pockets.

-You got the camera, John? -Got it.

-So we have to be out in six hours? -Yeah.

The door will open after five hours.

-And we'll have an hour to get in. -Okay.

My first teleportation.

-I'm getting nervous. -I know.

Now we wait to be teleported.

I have a feeling

-we have to press that button. -Right.

-Should I press it? -Yeah.

-Do it, Do-hoon. -Right away?

-Let's go! -Let's do this!

-Bring it in. -One, two, three.

-Let's go! -Let's go!

-Do I press it? -Yeah.

Let's go, Do-hoon.

AGENTS OF MYSTERY

-Do I press it? -Yeah.

Let's go, Do-hoon.

I'm so scared.

We're moving!

Make it stop!

I wasn't expecting that.

I thought they'd just edit it and have us go, "Wow, teleportation!"

I couldn't even stand straight.

I was surprised by how strong the turbulence was.

It felt like we were traveling to space.

It was as if we were traveling to a whole new dimension.

I didn't expect it to be so dynamic.

It felt so real.

I thought this might be what actual teleportation feels like.

-This is crazy. -So we have to find those girls,

find out what the owner was up to,

and take photos of the scene.

Okay?

-And remember. We can't get caught. -For sure.

We actually teleported.

How did they do this?

-No way. -Did we actually teleport?

-We did. -We did!

-We did? -Yeah!

This is nuts. Let's go.

Blood was splattered all over the walls,

and there were weapons and torture devices lying around.

We're dealing with murder.

This is bad.

We were somewhere we weren't supposed to be.

-Look at all the blood. -You're kidding me.

-This is insane. -Come on.

What the heck?

I hate seeing blood.

I'm not afraid of ghosts,

but I am afraid of people.

I have a hard time watching movies

where people hurt each other.

It feels more realistic

and that's exactly what we saw.

Someone had hurt someone.

This is bad.

Wait, Yong-jin.

Shouldn't we photograph the blood?

Should we photograph it?

-Photograph everything. -Just in case.

That's a good photo.

We should've tested the radios.

Should we do it now?

-Let's go in first. -Does everyone have one?

I think we should test our radios.

-While we're safe? -Yes.

-It closed. -We have six hours.

-Are we starting now? -Guess so.

Should we test them now?

-Yes. -Let's do it.

How do they work?

Press the button.

Let me see.

Hello, Eun-ji. Do you copy?

Good, you're coming through.

Is it working?

-It is. -Okay, it's working.

-Press and talk. -Okay.

Okay, it works.

This is scary.

It's terrifying.

-Is everyone scared by this stuff? -I think we are.

-Because I am. -Same.

Lead the way, Karina.

-Karina. -Yong-jin.

-Go on. -Go ahead, Karina.

-Come on, guys. -You're the youngest here.

-I'm so scared. -Let's go.

-So many bugs. -I know.

Hye-ri, come and take a look at this.

Something's written on the wall.

-Hey. -What's this?

It must be a code.

-Should we take a picture? -We should.

-We're photographing everything. -We should.

It's not a film camera, is it?

Shouldn't be a problem then.

This has to mean something.

This is really scary.

It's a dead end.

-I bet we have to climb through that. -What do we do?

I'm so lost.

We have to survive, Ji-min.

-We got this. -Yeah.

Don't abandon me, okay?

Let's stay calm.

Where do we start looking for clues?

I bet everything here is a clue.

Careful.

Yong-jin!

There are people out there.

People wearing white cloaks are walking around.

Let me see.

Let me take a look.

Guys, I took a look outside.

There's a huge hall,

and people are walking around in single file, all wearing white cloaks.

Don't cry.

Go take a look.

That was so scary.

We really need to be quiet.

I was so scared.

So scared.

Do you see them?

Right there. See?

This is not okay.

Come here.

I'm losing it right now.

My heart's beating so fast. I might have a breakdown.

Let's talk about this, Hye-ri. What's going on?

Listen up, guys.

-Here's what I think is happening. -Okay.

They're kidnapping people

and torturing them.

Those assholes.

They're bad guys.

They're torturing people and putting them in chains.

Right.

-They're lined up like it's some ritual. -Exactly.

The factory owner has to be involved in some way.

-Maybe it's a cult. -Exactly.

-Something religious. -That's a good theory.

That explains the hieroglyphs on the wall.

-Right. -It makes sense.

-It's like their code. -Right.

Initially, I thought the symbols

were written by the victims as a cry of help of sorts.

Scissors?

Hye-ri.

-Don't these look like scissors? -Yeah.

I think each of them might be a different tool.

-Drawings of the tools? -Yeah, that's what I'm thinking.

Are any of them repeated?

Yeah, this one.

And...

-This one too. -This one.

Do you think each tool has a different letter on it?

These shackles, for instance.

Something could be written on them.

-You mean like these symbols? -Yes.

Karina and Do-hoon, let's see if we can find these symbols elsewhere.

Or look for tools that look like them.

F8?

They weren't English or Korean.

They looked like hieroglyphics.

-Wait. -What is it?

You scared me.

This could be nothing.

-Do you want to connect them? -But take a look.

-These look kind of similar. -Exactly!

-This feels right. -This must be it.

Yeah, this has to be it.

Just like this.

-Look. Do you see it? -I don't know.

Look at the length of the blood streaks.

-That could be it. -Maybe these have to be pulled

according to the length of the streaks.

One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten,

eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen.

-One, two, three... -These spaces bother me.

-Why are there only two? -Right?

There are repeating symbols.

I bet it's in Korean.

These two repeat.

I thought maybe we'd get something

like numbers or letters if the symbols overlapped.

But there was no pattern.

There was nothing we could work with,

so it was so frustrating.

-There aren't that many clues. -No.

Maybe we need to look harder.

I'm looking everywhere.

We tried all sorts of things in that room.

Is this a telescope?

I got nothing.

Darn it.

Darn it. I don't like this.

Stay with the team.

Hear me out, Karina.

-You too, Eun-ji. -I'm scared.

-Here? -Listen.

I may be wrong,

but I think we have to reach in there and look for something.

-Wait. -Right?

-Am I wrong? -No one's putting their hand in there.

-It's definitely a possibility. -Exactly.

-Come on. -Seriously?

-Should I do it? -That can't be right.

-Your hand? -Wait.

Let's do rock, paper, scissors.

Let's do it.

-Seems fair. -Let's do it.

What if there's a corpse in there?

That would explain the maggots.

-You're right. -First...

Something has to be rotting for maggots to be there.

I'll do it since I pointed it out.

-Sounds right. -I'll do it.

-Great idea. -But hear me out.

-Let's make this a rule. -You're so cool.

If you find something, you deal with it yourself.

Are you serious?

No one would say anything then.

I'm setting an example right now.

-Okay. -We trust you.

-Let's see it. -Why are you taking off your jacket?

I don't want to get anything on it.

-I'll hold it for you. -What if there's nothing?

Well, in that case, I'd feel icky the entire time.

I can't see anything.

-Go on. -Are you sure about this?

There might be something you can feel in there,

or maybe even a note.

Cover the whole surface, okay?

Swirl your hand around like you're doing the dishes.

Don't freak out if you feel something moving.

-Just promise me this. -Okay.

If I find a clue in here,

I want a high five from Karina.

You could do that anytime.

-Just ask her right now. -No.

I just want someone to share my pain with.

You mean with this hand?

-Yeah, with this one. -I see.

I can handle that.

-Why Karina though? -Are these fake or real?

-They're real. -The maggots are real?

-They're real. -They're squishy.

Really feel around in there.

-Don't scream though. -You got this.

You look so sexy right now. No joke.

-For real. -Look at that forearm.

-You're a stud. -Please be careful.

-It's so deep! -What?

-It lit up. -It lit up in there.

-It lit up. -It did.

-Really? -A light?

-Oh my god. -It does light up.

There must be a sensor.

Why don't we put this stick in?

-Great idea. -You're smart.

Hold on.

Hold on.

Why couldn't you say that earlier?

You got poop on your hand.

-Do-hoon is smart. -Might as well keep going.

-You already got your hand dirty. -There's something in there.

Something is in there.

-You need to feel it with your hand. -That stick won't help at all.

-Not at all. -Look at his hand.

I'm sure it's a biometric sensor.

It's gotta be, right?

Hurry up.

You need to pull that thing.

There's a string.

Come on, Yong-jin.

-Pull it. -There is?

Yeah, pull the string.

I knew that wasn't it.

I knew it!

-It won't turn on. -Yong-jin.

-It actually is a biometric sensor. -It is.

-The stick didn't work. -Really?

Someone has to stick their arm in.

-Should I do it? -No, let me try again.

But I think my arm is too short.

-Should I do it then? -Should I try?

Maybe mine will fit better.

What's this up here?

-What is it? -You feel something?

No, that's just a hole.

I felt the top and the bottom.

I basically touched every inch of that hole.

-Look at his face. -We should've done rock, paper, scissors.

I swear there's nothing.

-Should I try? -We really should've.

-There's nothing. -Oh no.

-Don't. You'll get your clothes dirty. -Move aside, Hye-ri.

I can wash off my coat just fine.

Oh, it's much deeper than I thought.

How deep is this?

-Are we sure we have to reach the end? -What do we have to do?

This is hard.

-Are we supposed to see something? -I think so.

How can we get the light to stay on?

-I'll look for something. -Hey, Do-hoon.

-Yes? -Cut my finger off.

-Don't do that. -What are you saying?

-It might work. -I got just the thing.

-The perfect tool. -That's so hardcore.

Is the hole completely enclosed?

Yeah, it is.

I reached as far as I could,

but I got nothing.

I honestly don't feel anything.

I focused on every nerve in my hand.

But I couldn't feel anything.

Why does it light up then?

There's also not enough mud in here

-to bury something in. -I see.

-No chance. -Why is it there then?

Hey, wait.

Hey, wait.

-What is it? -There's a switch.

-A switch? -Yeah.

Really?

-Flip it. -Okay.

SWITCH

-No way. -That's amazing.

-Yong-jin. -Yong-jin!

You're amazing.

I finally found what I was looking for.

High five!

Thank god.

-You actually did it. -Let's go.

Let's go in.

I don't think anyone's here.

Hold on.

Just a second.

LAW OF MOLEK

They're the same symbols.

They were the same symbols we had seen in the other room.

I knew they had to mean something and that it was something important.

Guys, look!

Guys, look!

-Look. -It's the CCTV.

-Outside this room. -They're still alive.

Let's see the pictures.

-The pictures. -Who's who?

We can't be sure right now, but I don't think it's important.

They're all in the same room anyway.

-Right, that's a relief. -Yeah.

There's a prayer room.

PRAYER ROOM

Look, it's the prayer room.

It's so scary.

There's a prayer room there.

-A prayer room? -Before we move on,

let's try to gather as many clues as we can.

Where are we right now?

Since the prayer room is over there,

-this must be the security room. -Right.

There's the security room, storage room, and prayer room.

Okay, I see.

I should take a photo of the floor plan.

FLOOR PLAN

According to the floor plan,

the storage room was right next to the security room.

Next to that was the prayer room,

and then there was this wide space.

I figured that was the place where the followers were gathered.

The prayer room was right next door to where they were,

so I didn't think it would be safe

to go around poking our noses everywhere.

John.

Do you have the picture you took a while ago

of the symbols written in blood?

-We might be able to interpret it. -They're the same.

They're the same ones from the wall.

This is their law.

It's like their creed.

Here's a pen.

-Hold on. -Let's go over there.

Would you prefer a colored pen?

LAW OF MOLEK

This one is identical to that one.

And this one looks like that one.

This one, this one...

The next one looks like this.

Where are you, symbols?

-I think that's it. -Yeah.

Hye-ri.

-Yes? -We won't need these, will we?

We probably will.

-What are they? -Keys.

We'll need them for sure.

I think we might need them.

Eun-ji, see if they'll open these cabinets.

See if you can open them. Some of them are locked.

-Try them out. -Wait.

There are clothes here.

Clothes?

They must be the girls' clothes.

-They must be. -They are.

-Oh no. -Right, the girls.

The three victims.

The three missing girls.

-There's more. -Exactly.

There are more clothes.

-Hey, Eun-ji. -They're all full of clothes.

-This is crazy. -This is sick.

Sick bastards.

Did you use the keys?

-No, they just opened. -I see.

We might not need these keys.

Let's check this room.

I saw a lot of bottled ingredients.

Some of them had strange labels,

and some were empty.

Wait.

They're real.

And they're alive.

They put actual bugs in here.

-Real bugs? -Yeah.

-That's crazy. -This is the storage room.

We were just in the security room.

Why is there dog food?

Why would there be dog food?

Karina.

Are there any matching symbols, John?

There are some,

but the last part is missing.

-My assumption is that this means "law." -Okay.

-So that one is "law." -Right.

-And then this. -Okay.

And then there's a third set of symbols.

-Did you find them? -No, I haven't found them.

What else is there?

These are someone's belongings.

-They burned them. -Yeah.

Aren't these pants?

Should we try the keys?

Have we found any keys?

Yeah.

-Oh, these? -Yeah.

There's a wallet.

It has to be a small key.

Hold on.

Yes!

We found an ID card

among the burnt belongings.

JIN SIL-MAN JOURNALIST

We also found this.

He might be like

one of those journalists from movies who ventures alone to dig up the truth.

Get what I mean?

And he got caught.

That's probably how his stuff ended up in here.

Anything else?

-No, just these. -Just the ID?

-One of these keys should work. -There must be one for it.

Wait, where are Hye-ri and Yong-jin?

Over there.

-Hye-ri. -Yeah?

These were among some burnt clothes.

Okay.

We think he came here and got into trouble.

We found this wallet and some sort of case.

-What's in the case? -We couldn't open it.

But Do-hoon is trying.

Bring that with you, Do-hoon.

Let's go over there.

But keep trying.

-No luck? -None of them fit.

-None of them? -Yeah.

Is the box meaningless then?

-It won't open? -No.

-Did you try all of them? -Yeah.

-You did? -Yeah.

-There's something inside though. -Yeah, it's rattling in there.

I tried all of the keys, but none of them worked.

So I set it aside and turned my attention elsewhere.

You all know the prayer room's open, right?

-Yes. -Yes.

Did anyone go out there?

I was too scared to.

Should I go?

-Let's go. -Okay.

I should've brought a weapon.

Careful.

Look.

Let's compare that writing

with the one from earlier.

-They're the exact same symbols. -Right?

They're prayer booths.

Look, only one of them is locked.

We should be able to open it.

-Listen up. -Okay.

-There are five prayer booths. -Okay.

But one of them is locked. Where are the keys?

-Should we see if any of them fit? -Yeah.

Let's go.

They're the same symbols as before.

Right.

Right?

So this one's locked.

Okay, it's a thin one.

I'll start with this one.

-Try all of them. -I'll go clockwise.

This one...

is a bit too thin.

Hide!

What was that?

Get inside the cabinets.

Come here, Karina.

Yong-jin.

Hye-ri!

What do we do?

Holy crap.

I could barely breathe then.

The cabinet wouldn't close,

so I was holding the door like this.

But my hands were shaking because I was so nervous.

I was just trying not to let the metal door rattle.

Yong-jin!

Hide over there.

Grab a steel pipe or something.

We'll have to sweep the premises for suspicious individuals.

Check all the exits as well.

Roger that.

And we have spare master keys, right?

Where are they?

We have them. We'll get them to you right away.

No, I'll come to you.

It's closed.

The wall is closed.

Do-hoon.

What's taking him so long?

-Can they open it again? -Do-hoon, the wall is closed.

-Yong-jin. -Hey.

-Can you open it back up? -Can you open it?

-Again? -Stick your hand in the hole again.

-The switch. -He's gone now.

Was it always so far in?

Are we trapped?

No, we're fine.

-Your clothes are already dirty. -Good thing he's the one stuck out there.

I saw what the guy looked like.

He was wearing a blue plaid shirt and overalls.

And he had a lot of facial hair.

-You saw him? -Yes.

-Was it him? -Through the gap.

-Was it this guy? -No.

She's fearless. She saw everything from the beginning.

He was younger, and he went through everything.

Karina is something else.

She cracked the door open

to see what was going on.

She's fearless, that girl.

He was looking for spare keys.

And we have spare master keys, right?

Spares?

-He was looking for spare keys. -Yes.

-It's gone. -It's gone?

Yeah.

Never mind, got it.

-Got it. -You scared me.

-It's open. -Thank god.

-Did you stick your arm in again? -Yeah.

We need to unlock the prayer booth first, right?

We have to unlock the booth.

-Probably. -We have to go there again.

That'll lead us to something.

-Okay. -Should we just take that with us?

No, it's fine.

Let's go.

This is where I left off.

-Is there a way up? -You think anything is there?

There's probably nothing up there, right?

-I'll go check. -Let's unlock this and go.

-We should go together. -Okay.

-Let's go together. -All right.

Guys.

What?

I saw the followers up there.

Where?

-Where? -Up there?

Right by the door.

I saw them move.

You saw them?

I saw their silhouettes.

-Silhouettes? -Let's go together.

-We shouldn't go up there. -No?

-I don't think we should. -The silhouettes were...

-Right by the door? -Yeah, exactly.

They're moving around.

This is taking years off my life.

-You could barely breathe earlier. -I know.

Yong-jin!

-Is it open? -Hurry.

-We opened it. -Stay together.

-You got it open? -Yes.

Okay.

-I'll grab the keys, just in case. -Careful. We don't know what's in there.

What's their goal?

"The Church of Molek."

"A religious group that worships Molek."

"A satanic group."

-This is one messed-up religion. -It's a cult.

"When the gates of hell open."

"Black magic to be performed."

The gates of hell opening basically means death for all.

Our priority should be...

To save the victims and stop the final ritual.

We only have an hour left.

We might have to run.

We can't get caught.

Get them!

Hurry. We have to open it.

-Get them! -They're coming.

-We need to hide. -Hide.

Come here!

No, stop it!

Wait, stop!
