A little pause...
and we are back.
A little pause... and we are back.
A little pause...
and we are back.
But, that doesn't fit the plan.
Nerd is all flustered about the time.
Randy likes to keep things on schedule.
I rush for no man.
I know, but he's my cousin's best friend from college.
And they can wait for me.
And he agreed to drive us to Mammoth for the weekend.
And they'll say thank you once I'm good and ready.
Can you cut him some slack?
That little dweeb doesn't know the meaning of slack.
This is a copy of the itinerary for this weekend.
This is a copy of the itinerary for this weekend.
750 AM.
Warning call for pickup.
755 AM.
Arrive for pickup.
Bags should be on the driveway ready for loading.
757.
Load bags into the car.
8 AM.
Leave for Mammoth.
One rest stop allowed en route and only during the first fuel stop.
Optional food stop possible at the discretion of the driver.
Becca.
What?
Please.
Fine.
But only if you promise he won't touch me.
Deal.
Besides, if we get up there early, we can get in a few runs.
Deal.
Besides, if we get up there early, we can get in a few runs.
Before we get our hands on in the hot tub.
Ski all you want.
I'm gonna find some rich dude to take me shopping.
Um... I said he couldn't touch me.
I never said he couldn't lust after me.
Morning, soldier.
Time to report for duty.
Wade?
Wade, get your military ass in here.
I've been taking care of myself for two years.
It's your turn to do all the work.
Wade?
My brother and his retard friend took off already.
They're just out having fun.
They're gonna get busted.
I know it.
They'll be fine.
If they get caught on the other side of the mountain, then we get banned as well.
They're 17.
Cut them some slack.
That's what you do when you're 17.
Yeah?
What do you do when you're 28?
When your girlfriend's 26?
Other things.
Like what?
You have to be 28 to figure that out.
Are you 28?
I've got an ID.
Then let's get started.
Yeah.
Where are we?
Almost there.
You slept the whole way.
Now you're all rested up for us to party.
That'll happen.
What?
Nothing.
Can we stop?
I gotta pee.
We already made the fuel stop.
That was your last chance to pee.
Where are we?
Excuse me?
It's all clearly spelled out in the travel itinerary.
I'll spell this out for you.
You either stop at the next rest stop, or I will pee in your car.
Dork.
How do you know I won't like that?
Ew.
Seriously?
Look, I'll make a deal with you guys.
You let me try out my latest story, and I will make an unscheduled pee stop.
How about you shut up?
Right?
Tell your story.
I don't know if Becca will give it a fair shake.
We will.
All right, Becca?
Tell your stupid story.
I won't make it stupid.
Okay.
This is my latest and greatest.
Mammoth Mountain is cursed by a demon the locals call Skookum.
Wait.
Why do we have to listen to this story anyway?
I'm trying to impress the ladies, you know?
Maybe scare them into bed with me?
You'll definitely be scaring them out.
She's just kidding.
Go on.
So, Skookum is this beast that lurks in the
mountains, preying on hapless skiers and snowboarders.
But how did he get there?
That's a great question.
To answer it, we need to look far, far from Earth.
To a distant galaxy.
Far, far away.
Really?
If this story has a little robot in it that beeps
when it talks, I'm going to shoot you in the face.
Shh.
Many millennia ago, a planet of intelligent sharks struggled to save their race.
Their planet was dying.
Think about it.
If
they were there, they'd be cosmopolitan.
So, everything is else.
Yeah, it does.
So, there's no als.
..
They're all torn away from us, rolled on sheets.
We're just like littleOS.
Find something else to eat.
I'm a Marine.
That was R&R.
Oh, you're such a tough guy.
Prince Charming.
Mammoth certainly isn't the mean streets of New York, eh, Sheriff?
We made it halfway down the bunny hill.
Yeah, in Canada we come out of the womb in skis.
So you're saying you're a little slippery, is that what...
I think this is for lost and found.
What is that?
Um... you don't want to know.
Hey, don't be home too late tonight.
It's our six month anniversary.
And the little kid says it's a good night to you-know-what.
Oh, I won't be.
Don't be late.
I won't.
I won't.
Oh, yeah.
Half a century ago, I wouldn't have given them what for.
They're back.
Can't
we go there instead?
Seriously?
You're lucky I have a guy- And Ross, remember?
I'm the cute guy.
I know, I know.
I'll announce on the PA.
Ross and Carol are cousins.
Please, feel free to take advantage of her.
Oh god, you're such a jerk!
Are you okay?
You are so dead.
What?
I'm the jerk.
Come on!
Hurry!
Do you want the whole forest to go up?
Yeah!
More gas!
More gas!
More gas!
Wade!
Madison!
Wade!
How are you?
Hi!
Good to see you again.
Have you seen my brother anymore?
Your brother?
He's probably on the mountain snowboarding with a flashlight.
Yeah.
So, where does this look do that, huh?
I can't hold this thing any longer.
It's gonna pop!
That's so gross.
Come on!
Don't you like it?
These are alert.
I don't know.
There's probably a few more of these we won't see half bad.
Has the vampire seen us yet?
I don't know.
As evidenced by the lack of large flames.
He's dead.
We're missing him.
Party time!
Dude likes to torch up on the peat by flanking Capernix in CO2 Olympics!
Through the power invested in me by the god of the mountains,
Skokum, I declare Spring Break week officially open!
Come on around!
Come on around!
Don't be shy!
Come on around!
Come on around, guys!
What did he say?
Skrodom is like a god that lives in the mountains?
Skokum!
It's an Indian legend.
You know, like Sasquatch or Wendigo?
Are they rappers?
Shredder wouldn't miss the bonfire.
Where do you think he is?
You know what they say?
No.
What do they say?
Lobsters scream in pain when you drop them in the water.
Is that true?
No.
As a scientist, my opinion is that it's just the escaping seam.
But all creatures deserve a dignified death.
So I knocked these guys out first.
You are so humane and so sexy.
You are the sexiest marine biologist I know.
Do you know any other marine biologists?
Well, my great uncle was a marine biologist.
But you're way sexier.
No, thank you.
And anyway, he's dead, so it's a moot point.
Sheriff.
Yeah.
Did you lock anybody up tonight?
No, it's been a slow day, but I'm gonna be at it again tomorrow.
What's the problem?
Uh, my brother and his friend need to make it to the party tonight.
And, um, it's been a while, so I'm getting a little concerned.
Try ski patrol first, and then, um, if they don't find him, give me a call.
I can't initiate an official missing person search for 24 hours.
Listen, I got my hands full here, and someone's actually knocking at the door.
I said, okay?
Okay.
I'll try ski patrol.
Thank you.
Oh, man.
Oh, man.
Man, I love lobster.
No word of anything?
Nothing.
What are you gonna do?
You're ski patrol, right?
That is... that's correct, sir.
And you are?
Madison?
My brother and his friend, they went missing today.
They were boarding, and I think I...
Yeah, now he's, you know, hitched up with some hottie from an adjoining township.
It's spring break, partner.
Partner?
Yeah, well, uh, I think he hiked up Backside Mountain.
So, is there any way we can take a look?
You can do something about it?
It was skunker!
Hey, Duffy, could you stop sneaking up on people, please?
How many times do I have to tell you?
Okay, you're an old man who looks crazy, and when you do stuff like that,
you know, you just... You freak people out.
Hey!
Look!
There's nowhere to hide from skunkum now!
They've tasted human flesh!
I know!
I've seen it before!
Excuse me, guys.
They're gonna keep feeding and feeding!
They're not gonna stop!
Listen, Duffy, listen, listen.
See?
You sound like a crazy lunatic.
I mean, can't you hear yourself?
Hey, listen to me.
I want you to get a book.
It's called Wherever You Go, That's Where You Are.
And I want you to read it.
Okay?
Dale, you don't give a damn about me.
But they're all gonna die!
Duffy, listen to me, okay?
It's time for you to get going now.
It's time to go, okay?
Okay.
Okay.
Because you're not the type of person that people like at these parties.
Okay?
Okay, Dale.
Thanks.
Remember to get that book!
And that little lift ticket that you got attached to your ski jacket?
It says ski at your own risk, not mine.
So if your boys went up the backside, they can find their own way home.
So you're not gonna do anything?
Let's go.
Did you say you saw this before?
Snow's gonna run red with your blood.
You'll see.
Okay.
Have a good one.
Okay.
Have a good one.
Welcome to Mammoth Mountain today, kids.
We've got some fresh snow up there.
Don't forget about our bikini competition.
It's on at 2 p.m.
This is a reminder to all those that haven't renewed your tickets.
Get your MVP pass.
Come to the main lodge.
We'll set you up with half-price discounts.
Stan Spry, Eric Woods, please come to Lost and Bound.
We have your car keys.
Other than that, just have a safe day out there.
Don't forget there's a beer special at the top of McCoy.
And when you're hungry, get a bit of beef brisket at the Milk Cafe.
Stay warm, stay good.
You should have texted me by now.
I mean, I know it's spring break.
It's probably with some girls, but...
He needs to be more responsible, you know?
You've been gone.
He's not used to checking in with you.
Yeah, well, he needs to know that I'd at least be worrying.
About what?
We're not at a combat zone.
We're at a ski lodge with lots of hot girls.
He'd be doing the exact same thing at his age.
Which reminds me.
What do 28-year-olds do?
I thought we went over this.
Yeah, but with the confusion and the stress of it all, you know, I simply forgot.
What am I gonna do with you?
That's exactly what I'm trying to find out.
Get up!
Good dogs!
Come on!
Get up!
Good dogs!
Good dogs!
It's your job to search for missing people.
Persons.
My brother and his friend are missing.
Every spring break, your kids are all over each other like rabbits on biagra.
Look, I want you to search Backside Mountain.
The avalanche risk is too high.
There's nothing you can do?
I made out a report.
My squad is keeping an eye on it.
They'll be announcing it over the PA.
That's the SOP.
Stands for Standard Operating Procedure.
I know that means pizza.
Look, tough guy, just chill out until the end of skiing, okay?
What?
The knuckle-jaggers usually come in when they're
out of booze and they're looking for women.
If anything happens to them, I'm coming back for you.
I'll be right here.
And stay off the Backside Mountain.
Spring break.
I hate it.
Yeah, me too.
Except when the hotties come out at night to play.
Because they love a man out of uniform.
Hey.
Excuse me.
Hey, sweetheart.
Can I help you with anything?
My cousin Ross is missing.
I'm starting to freak out.
Well, have a seat.
Tell Uncle Lars all about it.
I came home this morning.
He wasn't in the room.
He didn't sleep in the bed.
I tried to call him.
He's not answering his phone, not responding to any of my texts.
Well, you know it is spring break.
Maybe he found himself a little spring bunny
out there and got some nasty business with her.
You know what I mean?
He didn't get some nasty business with someone.
I've looked everywhere.
I think something's wrong.
Well, I'll tell you what.
Don't worry your sweet little body about it.
I am the owner of this resort.
I'm making my personal apathy at my scapegoat.
What's your name again?
Ross.
Coffee to go.
Make it black.
Alright.
Thanks.
Excuse me.
Sheriff?
My cousin's missing.
I'm really worried.
His name is Ross Hamilton?
Since... Since last night.
It's not like him to disappear like this.
I was just telling this beautiful young lady that
I'm going to send out a ski patrol to look for him.
And we had some really good snow up top.
So, you know, he's probably in the alpine slope somewhere.
He'll be down in no time.
No need to bother the sheriff here.
He, uh...
He's a busy man.
Likes to work alone.
I've got ten highly skilled ski patrol guys up there.
They're going to find him.
If he doesn't show up by the end of ski day, we'll stop by the station.
Can you put out an alert or something?
Not quite.
Richie!
Hot chocolate?
Whipped cream?
Maybe a strawberry on top?
No thanks.
I have to find him.
Well...
Hello.
How are you?
No speak English good.
Uh, my name is Lars.
I own the resort.
Do you need to rent skis?
Oh.
Yes.
You're a hero.
Tomarogato.
You rent skis.
Expensive skis.
Good?
Yeah?
Okay.
Let's go.
Come on.
This'll be good.
Fun.
Fun.
Yeah.
Shredder!
We'll find him.
Shredder!
So ladies, what do we think?
More shots?
Yeah!
Carol!
The water's warm.
And wet.
There's room.
He still hasn't come back.
He's probably looking for you too and you keep missing each other.
No.
Something's wrong.
I'll help you find him.
Thanks Randy.
What are you doing?
Playing the concerned friend card.
Once we find Ross, Carol will be down for a little boarding.
Oh!
Oh!
Oh!
Why do we have to do this?
To see the scenery?
But we're on vacation.
We should either be high, or drunk, or both.
I mean, this is ridiculous.
I thought you loved to ski.
Ski jump.
And only on Xbox.
We're doing this for our relationship, Mike.
We can't just sit around, drink beer, and have sex all the time.
Why not?
Because.
I thought you liked beer.
Alright, hold up.
Just give me a minute.
Not so fast.
Barb!
Barb!
What?
Barb!
Yes, what?
Can I just get a minute?
Look, I'm not in shape and I don't exercise well when I'm not high.
It's just a little bit further.
Alright.
Just give me another minute.
If you keep up with me, I'll give you a sex treat.
A sex treat?
What kind of sex treat?
Dale.
Dale.
Dale, come in.
What's up, Chief?
Yeah, I gotta add another kid to that list.
Uh, what's his name?
Ross something or other.
I'll let him tour.
Watch four of us.
Dammit!
Dale.
Nothing scares away skiers faster than you.
Listen, search and rescue is dragging corpses out of here.
Listen, my squad is all over it, okay?
There's no need for search and rescue.
Let me remind you, if we don't have a good weekend,
we're all gonna be looking for work next fall.
Boss got a burr up his butt?
Yeah, every time a kid goes missing at lunch, old Lars just flips out.
Watch.
Watch!
Pass me through the PA system.
Good afternoon, skiers.
Maximum amount reminds all skiers and snowboarders
to only ski or board in designated areas.
With Shredder Thompson and Hucker O'Neal,
please contact ski patrol for an urgent message.
Ross Hamilton.
Carol wants you back.
All right, folks.
After a ski, Mammoth Lodge is offering you world-famous hot-blooded rock at 25% off.
Just again, have a great skiing day.
Stay safe.
Stay within the borders.
Thank you.
Go home!
Get the hell out of here!
This girl's gonna die!
Get out of here!
That guy needs some serious electro-shock to help him.
I know.
The hell's with it with you?
You're tired.
You're hungry.
You complain all the damn time.
Here.
Have a kind bar.
Thank you.
All right.
I thought I caught you.
And now it's sexual treat time.
Out here?
Can you see anyone?
I'm all alone.
I'm in the middle of nowhere.
No.
No way.
You don't want to say we should try new things.
Why do you guys always think that means sexual treatment?
We're in two equal positions.
As opposed to what?
Do you love me?
How did we get to this?
To answer the question.
Of course.
Say the words.
Barb.
Say it!
Fine.
How did you do it?
Barb!
Wait!
Barb!
Barb!
Wait!
For what?
So I can waste another year of my life with someone who doesn't love me?
Are you going to say anything?
Done.
I'm leaving.
And you're never going to see me again.
Sam!
How much longer do you want to look for him?
I don't know.
As long as it takes.
Bad feeling about it.
We'll find him.
Don't worry.
Just stresses me out.
Back for two weeks, you know?
He's no responsibility.
Now I'm out here wandering.
Sheriff!
Get your guns!
You're not kidding me.
Can you just put him in a cell until he, you know, sleeps it off?
Skookum ate my Luna!
What?
What ate what?
Luna!
They ate my Luna!
My lead dog!
They weren't supposed to come back!
Something's happened!
Look, can you just lock him up?
What's he talking about?
Well, I don't know.
It really doesn't matter.
But it's causing a menace to all the skiers out there.
So if you could just put him in a cell and watch him.
They haven't eaten for 25 years until now.
You know what?
He used to be pretty harmless.
But something set him apart.
I know.
I mean, if you need to press charges...
Well, I'll deal with it.
Okay.
Well, just make sure he's locked up.
Well, if he does something illegal... I'll handle it.
See to it.
The blood!
The blood's gonna flow like a river!
Okay.
Um...
First name?
Duffy.
Duffy Dufferin.
They're all gonna be shredded to bits.
Okay.
Um...
Date of birth?
Barb.
They killed Barb!
Oh, what happened?
Who's Barb?
Was she hurt?
They ripped her to pieces.
Who did?
The animals.
The animals?
Yeah.
What animals?
Were they wolves?
I mean, why didn't I tell her?
I mean, she was right in front of me.
Why didn't I tell her that I love her?
Were they wolves?
Is that what you saw?
Why didn't I?
I mean, what's wrong with me?
Sharks, man!
I mean, sharks!
Okay, they swarmed up and they ripped her to pieces.
Okay, we're gonna get some help, okay?
This guy's lost it.
You're coming with us, okay?
We're getting out of here.
Now, now, come on, go, go, go!
I had to let you go, Dovey, but this time they want to press charges.
Somebody's gotta feed my dogs.
Adam, I brought the leftover lobster for lunch.
Adam, I brought the leftover lobster for lunch.
Oh, really?
Mm-hmm.
Because I thought I hid everything inside.
Why didn't you ask her about it?
Honey, just put it on the desk.
Dovey got himself into real trouble yesterday.
She's seen it, too.
Dovey, calm down.
What's going on?
Scoot comes back.
They've come back again.
Now, Dovey, it's just really hard for me to take anything you say too seriously.
Adam, open the file from March 14th, 25 years ago.
What?
Just look in the file.
All right.
I'll show you what I'm looking for.
What's this?
Something killed my parents.
It came from me, but an angel picked me up and carried me to safety.
I did.
I pulled John to my sled.
So you're saying you believe him?
Look, I've been searching for proof of these creatures my entire life, Adam.
It's why I'm still here.
So what are you saying?
What the hell's going on here?
The blood's gonna flow, Sheriff.
Duffy?
There's a Native American myth that white sharks swam
up a river into an alpine lake caused by a great spirit.
Skookum.
They swim through the snow like other sharks move through water.
And they love people meat.
He's telling the truth, Adam.
So what am I gonna do?
Call up the State Patrol and say, send me your Ghostbusters unit?
Alright.
Alright.
I'm gonna go check out Alpine Lake.
Just, uh...
I'm coming with you.
No, no.
You keep him company.
In his condition, I don't want him being alone.
You're okay, right?
See?
Now I can come with you.
Alright.
Okay.
You're one tough customer.
Hey, girls.
Cheers, ain't you?
The girls got wild!
Cheers!
Cheers!
Two of my best friends ever.
Cheers!
Cheers!
The kids have been telling me that Duffy's been spreading
stories trying to get these people off the mountain.
Again?
That guy's bad for business, eh?
Well, I got this sheriff open.
You make sure he keeps him.
Couple more days like this, he'll be debt free.
Bahamas, baby.
Bahamas.
Guys, I still don't have bars.
On the other side of that hill.
I couldn't do anything.
I couldn't help her.
There's nothing you can do now, except get help.
Maybe she's... maybe she's still okay.
She's not okay.
I mean, she was mauled to death.
I mean, there was nothing left to make a sloppy joe.
I mean, she's not okay.
I should have told her I loved her.
I should have told her.
We gotta keep moving.
We gotta keep moving, man.
Guys, we have to go.
Mike!
That's it.
That's what got Barb.
Mike, come on.
I got this.
I know what it is.
It was love.
No, come on, man.
You gotta come with us.
This is crazy.
I know that I'm not afraid anymore.
I love you guys.
And I love Barb!
You see?
It's working.
I love you guys.
You're not thinking straight.
Mike!
And I love my life!
Mike, we gotta move now!
Come on!
I love Barb!
I love my parents.
And I love my job.
And I'm not gonna smoke dope anymore!
Because...
You see?
It's love!
Mike, come on, man!
It's love.
Love is the answer.
It's all about...
Love!
Love!
Okay.
So where was the last place you saw him?
At the bonfire.
Do you think he could have come all the way out here?
I don't know.
The snow covered all the trails.
Wait.
What's that?
What is that?
They're goggles.
Yeah, they're Ross's.
Yeah.
Something happened to him.
I'm sure he just dropped them.
No.
Something happened.
What am I gonna do?
I don't know.
I'll take you to the sheriff.
Yeah?
You should never have left him alone.
It's not your fault.
You shouldn't have wandered out here like that.
My grandma's gonna kill me.
What's going on, guys?
There's a creature down the hill.
Sharks?
Really?
Yeah.
Has everybody gone crazy at this point?
We saw them under the snow.
Hold on a second.
Where are they now?
In the big field west of Duffy's house.
There's two people who were killed up there.
You guys saw it?
Yeah.
Where's the body now?
His stomach.
I don't know.
He's eaten.
He's dead.
There is no body.
That's it.
Adam, shoot!
Wait a minute.
Adam!
What is that?
Adam!
No!
Don't!
Wait.
What was that?
Skookum.
Come on.
Come on.
I don't understand why you're so disorganized.
Just to ask everyone to please... I'm trying to run a business.
Listen!
Arguing is getting us nowhere.
You need to call for help.
Listen to him, Adam.
No one is calling anybody, alright?
Simple as that.
It's out there right now.
Go smoke some more weed, kid.
Look, I saw it tear somebody apart.
Adam and I saw it too.
A shark!
Yeah, it swims in the snow in packs.
Listen to yourselves.
Alright, alright, alright.
Everybody calm down, okay?
Now something strange is going on here, because
we've got five missing persons, alright?
Mayor.
Thank you.
Finally.
Sheriff, what's this about closing them out?
We've got five missing people, okay?
Something strange is going on there, and I don't know what it is yet.
Snow sharks.
Hey!
It ate my dogs, dammit!
I'm sorry to hear that.
A man should be able to live in his community without
having to worry about snow sharks eating his dog.
Hmm.
Adam.
Ameth Mountain Ski Area is the bread and butter of this town.
Global warming is shrinking the ski season every year.
We need this weekend to survive.
Mayor.
I saw something myself out on the cross country trail, okay?
What did you see?
I don't know.
It was moving fast, okay?
What you saw was a prank, I mean... It wasn't a prank.
It was skookum.
Mayor.
If this was New York, would you have enough evidence to shut down the city?
No.
Adam.
You're new around here.
Every spring break, the kids pull some prank like this.
Last year, they clogged the sewer pipe leading up to the mountain.
It was certainly unpleasant, but the mountain stayed open.
Sheriff.
You know what you saw.
Hey, Wade.
Let the important people make the decisions, okay?
Okay, okay.
Take it easy, okay?
Because his brother is one of the missing kids, alright?
Hey.
My cousin is missing too.
Which is exactly why we need to call in search and rescue.
No, that is not why we need to call in search and rescue.
Because if we do, they just charge me money and they find nothing.
Mayor.
I will have the ski patrol search the backside trails.
They know the terrain better than anybody.
If their friends are on the mountain, they will find them.
Good, good.
It's all settled then.
Agreed?
Agreed.
Agreed.
Excellent.
Let's go up that mountain.
Have a nice day.
It's no profit keeping them.
Dale.
You up to being sheriff for the rest of the season?
Yes.
I should have had the job in the first place.
Good.
I'll swear you in and draw up the papers to relieve Adam of duty.
Great.
Best snow in 25 years.
There's no way we're losing this week to some crazy kids and a cop with cabin fever.
That's the way I like to do business.
Let's do it.
Adam, you have to do something.
Think about it.
We need to warn everybody.
Where are you going?
Gonna get to the bottom of this.
A shotgun's not gonna do a thing, Sheriff.
Told you I don't want another word out of you.
We need a deputy, Sheriff.
You?
Second battalion.
First Marines.
Alright.
Better get the orders.
Adam.
Honey.
Please stay here, okay?
I love you.
Everybody just stay put until I figure out what's going on.
I obviously missed all the fun.
Where's Joe?
Dumped me into the sheriff to report Ross missing.
Come on in.
Tempting.
But I gotta get some runs in.
Good plan.
There's still some time left to catch a lonely skibliner before it gets dark.
Bye.
I think it was headed towards the ski area.
We'll circle around and then go back to the lodge.
No!
No!
Stop!
They're over there!
The sheriff's over there!
Come on.
You know, Dale.
I don't know what's going on.
You know what?
The sheriff is heading up to Augusta's patch.
He'll meet me up there right away.
Over there.
No!
No!
Is everything okay?
Hey, what are you guys doing?
Yeah.
Everything's...
Everything's fine.
Did you find your snow shark?
Listen, the mayor...
told me you have 12 hours to pack up your stuff.
There's a new sheriff in town.
This is crazy.
My first duty as sheriff is to lock you up.
Oh yeah?
And what charges?
I don't know.
How about impersonating a police officer?
Excuse me everybody, but your sheriff has
just been relieved of his duty due to stress.
Excuse us for a moment, please.
Folks, just go back to skiing.
You know, it's the best weather we've had all year.
Enjoy yourselves.
Give us a minute.
Thank you.
Adam.
I'm sorry.
Seriously?
So I'm gonna need the gun too.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Well, you've got five missing persons.
So I suggest you find them.
There are five dead people on this mountain.
I suggest you get off it.
Don't worry about it, folks.
Let's go about your business.
Don't worry.
We'll tell you if there's anything wrong.
Don't forget, bikini skiing, half hour... Orders.
We'll get through it though.
Let's go.
Go!
See something you like?
Very much so.
So you ski here often?
Hey, can you come sit over here?
Yeah, of course.
So you know there's a story around here about a
mystical creature summoned to protect the mountain.
They call it the Legend of Skookum.
Excuse me?
Apparently it's a creature that hunts in the snow.
Sure.
They say it swims through it like a shark.
Swims?
Through the snow?
How is that possible?
Some say it's actually made of snow.
They say it's a cursed place on this land.
Okay.
It's a long gondola ride.
Let me hear it.
So, the way it was told to me is...
In the mid-1800s, people from all over flocked to these hills.
Their backgrounds may have differed, but they all came for the same reason.
To strike it rich.
The gold rush.
That's really mystical.
Would you hold on, okay?
I'm getting to the good part.
I'm just trying to paint you a picture.
Okay, okay.
Go on.
Anyways...
What they hadn't planned on was the native people living here.
They saw these mountains as... sacred.
The home of their gods.
Their reverence for the land put them into direct conflict with the miners.
So it wasn't long before full-scale war broke out.
The battles were short, bloody.
Why didn't they just leave?
Duh.
Um...
On that bluff up there, the tribe made their last stand.
Men, women, children.
Pushed to the edge.
And then over.
They massacred them all?
Every last one.
Only the tribe's shaman remained.
Hidden high atop the mountain, in a cave the natives
believed contained the power of their god of vengeance.
Skookum.
The shaman summoned their god, and from the blood, tears,
and sorrow of the fallen tribe, a horde of demons arose.
Sounds like my ex.
They flowed down the mountain, with fury and revenge.
Mining settlement after mining settlement was wiped off the face of the mountain.
And just as the miners spared no one, neither did Skookum.
After the land had been cleansed, the creatures were captured in powerful totems.
The shaman placed these totems on the mountain, so that if they were ever
disturbed, Skookum returned to protect the mountain once again.
Yeah.
Wow, right?
Well, thanks for the story.
Um, you should write that down.
Maybe make a movie.
Yeah.
Sheriff, any sign of Ross?
He's not sheriff anymore.
What?
Yep.
I almost shot a snowblower.
Why?
Well, Dale's sheriff now.
We have 12 hours to get out.
Get out from where?
From here.
We're meant to move out of here.
What is this?
Oh my god, you ain't even kidding me.
Well, can I go?
Yeah, you can go.
Just keep your head down.
Don't let Dale see you.
Damn my dogs.
Maddie, let's go.
Shatter's dad is me.
Yeah.
And Ross?
Looks that way.
Sheriff, we're gonna go.
Do whatever you want.
Just be careful.
We did everything we could.
All right, boys.
I have to pee.
I'll be right back.
Don't go anywhere.
Now that right there is the problem.
What?
That.
What?
That right there.
That what?
The whole thing.
She's totally not into you.
Why is she always hanging out with me?
Because she always wants to talk about me.
That's crap.
We don't talk about you.
Oh, come on.
You always tell me she's asking questions about me.
It's only natural.
You're my friend.
My friends are a reflection of me.
What, are you some sort of psychic?
Yeah, a little bit.
Not at all, man.
I'm taking her out for drinks later and I'm gonna make my move.
Good luck with that.
I got a date with her later.
Better not.
That's cute.
You guys argue over everything.
All right, all right, all right, all right.
Let's settle this.
The manly way.
I have an idea.
A race.
First one to Suicide Hill and back gets to have...
this.
Oh yeah.
All right, let's do this.
All right.
Now we're talking.
Three.
Two.
One.
One.
Two.
All right, he's dead.
It's time to claim your prize.
So is this your first time up Mammoth Lakes?
I know English.
Yeah, so do I.
Oh, you don't know English.
Okay.
No problem.
I mean, what would we talk about anyways?
I mean, I like green tea and sushi.
So we might have that in common.
Not to assume that just because you're Asian you like those things.
I'm just trying to find common ground.
I'll shut up.
Oh.
Oh my God.
Oh my God.
Oh my God.
Oh my God.
Oh my God.
You look like you've seen a ghost.
You guys need to get out of here, okay?
Out of the top or the whole area?
Something's killed five people, and we think it killed Hugger and Shredder.
No lie?
Is this some kind of sick joke?
Because you guys are totally bringing me down.
This isn't a joke, okay?
We're getting out of here, and I suggest you guys do too.
Okay, that doesn't make any sense.
People don't just randomly die.
Somebody probably just took somebody else's car by mistake,
and so it seems like they're missing, but they're not.
Look, there's a creature.
It's a killer.
Well, you know, Cheryl said Ross was missing.
Maybe he's in the car.
What car?
Hey, you can bring up the hotel party.
Get out!
Now, now, now, now!
Go, go, go!
That was awesome!
What the hell?
Nothing's going to happen.
So, I'm an Olympic snowboarder.
You know the halfpipe?
You probably recognize me.
Yeah.
That's me.
I don't like to brag about it, though.
Sorry, I didn't bring a pen.
I could have signed your jacket or something.
So, you maybe want to ski for a while?
You, me, ski?
Taboon.
I don't...
I'm sorry, I don't understand.
We go... that way.
EA.
Backside.
Me?
Extreme.
Okay.
Awesome.
You know, I saw you flying down the Paranoids and you were just phenomenal.
Thank you.
You know, one race, I bet the ski team that I could beat them skiing down backwards.
Really?
Well, you know, I don't...
Hey, slow down, will ya?
Yeah, no, I did win.
Would you like to get a halfpipe out of Drum Riders?
Listen, you gotta get out of here.
Go.
Get out of here.
Hey!
Turn it off!
What?
What the hell?
Just turn it off.
Wait!
No!
Wait!
Get off him!
Go to hell!
Baby, I am so sorry.
Oh my god.
Baby, are you alright?
Look at me, look at me.
I'm so sorry.
I didn't mean to do that.
Wait!
Wait!
You were right, okay?
You gotta get these girls to safety now.
Okay?
Go!
Go!
Come on, let's go!
Go!
Can we move?
Get them out!
Look, Mayor.
I don't know what's going on.
Everything keeps changing.
Look, I got people disappearing.
I got five missing skiers.
I'm beginning to wonder if there's something you didn't tell me.
It's been five years since you sold me Mammoth.
You told me that I had to come in here.
Hold on.
Hold on.
Hold on.
Oh crap.
Are you okay?
Are you okay?
Hurry!
Get inside!
Everybody inside!
Come on!
Come on!
You want me?
Come on!
Let's go!
Come on!
I'm right here!
Damn!
Get over here!
Come on!
You want me?
Come on!
I'm right here!
Come on!
I'm right here!
Come on!
Come on!
Let's go!
Come on!
Come on!
Come on!
Get the cab!
Get the cab!
Damn!
Help me!
I need another gun!
Help me!
Don't leave me out here!
Please!
Please!
Please!
Dale, we'll come and get you!
Dale, we'll come and get you!
They're using him as bait.
Bait?
They want us to go get him.
They can't be that smart.
They're just circling him out there.
We have to do something.
Are you crazy?
That's suicide.
We should all just sit tight and wait for help.
I'm not leaving him out there.
Look, he's already as good as dead.
If we bring him in here, he'll just warm up and bleed out faster.
If we leave him outside, he'll freeze and die simultaneously.
He won't feel any pain.
He'll die with dignity.
Athena, shut up, all right?
Has anybody gotten a call for help?
My cell's dead.
No, I've got no signal either.
No.
What is this?
It's not the first time the sharks have appeared on this mountain.
Are you kidding?
What the hell did they use last time?
The town hired shamans to remove the curse and cast off the spirits.
Shamans?
Yes.
No guns?
No ammo?
Nothing?
I was just a kid.
That's all I remember.
No tear gas?
Grenades?
Backup?
Reinforcements?
Nothing?
No, that's it.
That's it.
Help!
Oh my god.
Help me!
I'm going out there.
No, please.
Don't go.
You can't make it past ten feet.
Don't!
Come on!
Just go!
I know you're out here!
There you are, you son of a bitch!
I'll show you.
Why not?
Because he doesn't know I'm here.
You bleed like a stuffed pig!
They know exactly where you are!
Please, don't... Listen.
That's for Luna!
That's for Thunder!
That's for me!
Oh, my side.
I didn't think you'd come.
I'm not so sure about that.
Kill me!
I ain't gonna shoot you, old man!
I'll shoot you!
I know you would.
I ain't a crazy old bastard like you!
Get it done!
Get it done!
Jesus, I was just kidding, man.
You're like a brother to me.
Help me out.
Pull!
Pull!
Pull!
Hey!
Come over here!
Hey!
Come over here!
Don't get me!
Maddie!
Maddie!
Maddie!
We have to make a run for it!
And go where?
Out of here!
Oh, my God, you guys.
So we can drive!
What makes you think sharks don't eat the metal?
What makes a shark eat a truck?
The same sharks that sweat through snow and eat people in jacuzzis!
Have you not been getting on with the fun of it?
Come on!
Come on!
Okay, hold it!
Hold it!
When I say go, okay?
Go!
Go!
Don't leave me!
Listen!
Wade's gone!
There's nothing you can do!
Pull up!
Listen!
You can save me!
And you can save me in Wade's honor!
Alright?
Let's get out of here!
No!
Come on!
We have to go save him!
She's right!
We can't leave him!
Are you crazy?
This is our last chance!
No!
She's right!
We can't leave him!
Stop!
Don't move!
Stay absolutely still!
Wade!
You're alive!
Are you sure?
He's not dead.
He had me in his mouth!
I'm not happy!
He's disappeared!
And maybe he just doesn't like the way you taste!
Are you sure about this?
No!
They're coming straight for us!
If it's still mostly a shark, it might only sense our movement!
He's coming right at me!
No!
Stay still!
Don't move!
He's coming straight at me!
Help!
Stop!
Hey!
Hold on!
What about me?
He's coming back!
Girls!
Come towards me!
Hey!
Get in the truck!
Hold on!
What about me?
Stay there!
Don't move!
What am I supposed to do?
Get down!
Oh my God!
What the
hell is going on around here?
Listen.
Maybe it's over.
Maybe he's gone.
Dale, would you shut up for a moment?
Hey, I'm in pain, man!
I've been half eaten by a shark!
I've been dragged across the snow and been slammed into a truck!
Are you crazy?
No, Dale.
I'm not crazy.
I'm a marine.
So why don't you just shut up?
Let me figure out where we're at.
And then we'll get you a band-aid for your boo-boo.
A band-aid for my boo-boo?
Where the hell is this guy?
I'm going somewhere warm.
Forget the snow.
Florida or something like that.
Not Florida.
Not the ocean either, man.
I hear they have sand sharks.
Let's go!
Come on!
Come on!
Let's go!
Come on!
He beats up fish like you for breakfast!
Come on!
Go help the girls!
I'll distract them!
Come on, shark!
Come and get me!
Get out of here!
Come on!
You want me?
Come and get me!
I'm the one you want!
I got a bronze medal in the Olympics!
Come on and get me!
Come on, you son of a bitch!
I think it's gone!
How do you know?
It disappeared.
Just like when I was on the station.
I think he's right.
Come on.
It's gone.
No!
It's not over!
Let's get in the truck, including me, and get the hell out of here!
Maybe he's right.
Of course I'm right!
I'm as right as rain!
Now let's go!
I bet my life I think it's gone.
Well, it's swell.
But not my life.
Now let's go!
We have to go back and get our stuff.
We don't need stuff!
We don't need stuff!
I'll buy you stuff!
Oh!
Oh!
Oh!
Oh!
Oh!
Don't look back.
We don't need stuff!
Thank God for this ะฐะฑัะพะปััะฝะพ ugly screenplay.
Take a rest or beat me up!
There is a storm in the wind!
