to turn into a caterpillar?

But from egg to butterfly, usually about four weeks.

Yeah, three to five days for the egg to turn to larva.

Which grow into caterpillars.

That's right. And about ten days

for the caterpillar to turn into a chrysalis.

And about two weeks after that, a butterfly comes out.

I always used to just take that stuff for granted,

but it's pretty amazing.
