I wish there were other friends here to play with

who didn't just want to look for aliens

or just sing all the time.

[groans] Looks like these two packages got paint on them.

It's all right, but we got a problem.

This paint's covering the addresses.

Addresses? What are they?

Addresses are on all letters and packages.

They have information that helps us know

who these packages are for.

See, this shows the package is going to Halcyon Person

who lives here at Tobsy Towers. Tower 1, 678 Marceline Street.

She lives in Apartment 5B. Upstairs from us.

Here's the city. Nadatown.

And here's our state, California.

And our zip code is 95801,

which is a special number the post office uses

so they know where to deliver our mail.

But this package has paint on it.

We can see a lot, but not the name of who it's going to.

But if we don't know whose package this is,

we can't give it to them.

This is a major oopsie.

Oh, don't worry, sugar.

There's still plenty of info on the address

to help us figure out who these packages are for.

Maybe we can deliver them.

Hey, Dad, Grandma, could you help us?

That's a great idea.

[chuckles] You betcha!

Now, let's take a look at these apartment numbers.

Hmm.

I see the number 4 and the letter G.

That's right.

That 4 shows us which floor the packages are going to.

Floor 4.

We live on floor 4.

? That means we know where to go. ?

To the elevator!

[Phoebe and Jay laugh]

[grunts] Wait for me.

Wait a second.

If this is our floor, maybe this package is for us.

We live in 4A. I hope it's an elephant.

I've always wanted an elephant.

Where are we going to fit an elephant in our bedroom?.

Whoa whoa whoa.

We still have more of the address to read.

We got the 4 right.

But remember, there's also a letter here, G.

Our door doesn't have a G. It has an A.

So the elephant isn't for us.

Whew!

But how do we know where to look

for the door with a G?

Well, this way-finding sign can help.

Its arrows show us which way to go

to find the right apartment.

That arrow points one way for 4A, 4B, 4C and 4D.

And that arrow points the other way

for 4E, 4F, 4G and 4H.

So 4G is this way.

[giggling]

4G. This is it.

You knock.

No, you knock.

But we don't know this neighbor.

Could be anybody.

[both] Ahhh!

Hey, we've come this far, babies.

And you don't know how wonderful a neighbor could be

till you get to know 'em.

But to find out, you gotta knock.

We brought a package for you.

We delivered the first package, and we made a new friend.

Now we just have one more to go.

Grandma, will you help us with this address?

The name is covered,

but we can see part of the apartment unit, C.

But the floor number's smudged. This could be a 3 or an 8.

Mm.

So do we go to floor three or floor eight?

Guess we gotta try them both.

[all] To the elevator.

3C, here we come.

Wait. Phoebe, look.

The sign says 3C is this way.

Not that way.

Whoops.

3C. We found it!

I was scared last time, but then we met a new friend.

Oh, hello.

Hi. I'm Phoebe, and this is Jay.

And this is my daddy and grandma.

Well, it's nice to meet you. I'm Mr. Gurley.

I don't usually get visitors. How can I help you today?

Um, is this your package?

No. Sad to say, I haven't ordered anything.

[both] Ah, we're in the wrong place.

There's still one more apartment to check, 8C.

[all] To the elevator!

Mm. Looks like 8C is that way.

8C. We found it.

That sounds like an alien.

I know a fearsome feathery beast when I see one.

This is my Daddy. And that's Grandma.

until you get to know him.

Houdini's been so excited to get his play stand.

And today we're going to learn about addresses.

Oh, yeah. I love this.

? I'm writing a letter to Grandma today. ?

? How do I feel and what should I say? ?

What do you want to write on there for Grandma?

I love you so much that you make my heart shine.

Grandma's gonna love it. So here's an envelope.

First, we'll write her name and her address,

and then we'll mail it to her.

? Write down her name, number and street. ?

? That's the address. Makes it complete. ?

So what's the last step, Luke?

A stamp.

Great job, Luke.

We have Grandma's name, where she lives.

The city, the state and her zip code.

? Walk down the sidewalk.

? Drop it in the box.

? Here comes the carrier.

? Opens up the lock.

? They read your name and your address too. ?

? They know where to take it.

? They know it's for you.

? You when you open it up. You're going to dance all day. ?

That jacket is a little stinky.

It probably hasn't been washed in a really long time.

It can't be that bad.

That jacket needs a wash before you wear it, sugar.

But that's gonna take forever.

And I really, really, really want to wear

the jacket right now.

Remember, sometimes you got to wait for something great.

I'm not sure we can wash it like other clothes.

in that big ol' washing machine.

These little shiny sequins will fall off.

But that's the sparkle.

If we can't use the washing machine, though,

how are we gonna clean the jacket?

This'll tell us.

Ha, ha!

All our clothes have tags with instructions

for how to wash them.

Even my t-shirt.

Let me see.

These pictures and words

show us the steps we need to do to wash the jacket.

Does that mean no washing machine?

Ha, ha! That's right.

These words say do not machine wash.

And see here. What do you think this means?

That looks like a hand washing something.

Does it mean we should wash the jacket with our hands?

This says, "Hand wash only."

So we'll wash the jacket with our hands

instead of the machine.

Here the tag says, "Do not tumble dry."

So no dryer machine.

We need to, "Lay flat to dry" then we'll be all done.

So many steps.

It'll take a million bajillion years

to clean the jacket that way, and I want to wear it right now.

Oh, purple glitter pen. Mom wrote this!

Will you read it, Grandma?

Mmhmm.

It says, "For extra sparkle, dry in the sun".

I remember she saved and saved for months to buy this jacket.

So she was real particular about taking care of it.

[chuckles]

She didn't even let me wash it.

This jacket helps me remember Mommy.

I want to clean it the right way to save the sparkly sequins,

even if it takes a long, long, long time.

Oh, you got this, baby girl. Do you remember the steps?

Uh-huh.

Step one. We don't use the washing machine.

We wash the jacket with our hands.

Step two. We don't use the dryer.

We lay it flat to dry on a table.

Step three. Like Mommy's note said,

we dry it in the sun for extra sparkle.

Alrighty. Step one.

To wash the jacket with our hands,

we gotta fill up this tub with water.

Then we can add soap and use our fingers

to rub the jacket till it's clean.

Ugh! Water, go faster.

Faster! Faster! Faster!

Uh, uh, uh. Remember Phoebe,

sometimes you gotta wait for something great.

Won't it be great when Mommy's jacket is nice and clean?

Yeah.

Well, sometimes waiting is easier

if we don't spend the time paying attention

to what we're waiting on.

But then what are we supposed to pay attention to?

What can we do while we wait?

Yay! The tub is full.

We're ready to wash you, jacket.

We just need the soap and-- oh, no, we don't have anymore.

Ugh! What are we gonna do now?

Oh, don't you worry, sugar.

Like I always say, if you're out of detergent,

you can use shampoo if it's urgent.

And I always got my shampoo on me.

You never know when life's gonna try and mess with your hair.

[giggles]

[both] So many bubbles.

Wash with those hands, Yarbers.

There. All clean.

Remember what we do next, babies.

Step 1 is done.

So now we gotta do step 2 and dry the jacket.

But no dryer.

We lay the jacket flat on a table to dry.

And step 3,

lay it in the sun like mommy's note says.

That's how you get extra sparkle.

Lay it flat. Check.

In the sun. Check.

Now you just got a dry, jacket.

It's probably dry now.

Ugh, nope.

Now, it's definitely... still wet.

It's gotta be...

[blows]

[chuckle]

Phoebe, it takes time for things to dry, remember?

Yeah. Sometimes you gotta wait for something great.

Mommy's jacket will be so great when it's dry.

[gasps] I know what to do.

[air horn sound]

[laughs]

We washed and waited and dried in the sun.

And now the jacket's gone forever.

And I never even got to wear it.

And you took such good care of mommy's jacket.

You know, cleaning the jacket

was such a great way to remember her.

[sighs]

Even if we don't have it anymore.
