I would say that there is some premium on this next snap.

For Bryce Underwood, that game,

it was a very interesting experience to watch.

COMMENTATOR: Bryce looking,

delivers over the middle and it's intercepted.

Underwood, he's going to fire over the middle. Intercepted.

I felt like Northwestern was a step back towards USC.

COMMENTATOR: Bryce takes the snap and Wolverines fumble.

It's the fifth turnover of the game for Michigan.

Again, true freshman, youngster, and it showed in that game.

MAN: Michigan comes into this game with two losses.

If you lose that,

most of your season goals are dashed.

COMMENTATOR: Each of Michigan's last three drives--

interception, interception, a fumble, and a fourth-down stop.

It's a sloppy performance, an undisciplined performance

that's allowing the team to lead in the fourth quarter.

But fast-forwarding through all the trouble was the finish.

COMMENTATOR: Third and ten for Michigan,

trailing 22-21, fourth quarter.

DAVIS: This is where a quarterback is born.

COMMENTATOR: Looking, steps up in the pocket.

He's going to deliver and it's caught.

Wow. What a throw and what a catch.

BRYCE: With those situations, you can't be too high,

you can't be too low.

Keep striving at it, keep being great.

COMMENTATOR: Huge play here, third and five

from the 37-yard line.

Underwood takes the snap, back to pass,

looking to his left, bails out of there

to his right, looking downfield.

He's going to run across the 30

and he dives for the first down.

BRYCE: I feel like that's what I was taught from my dad

going to every single workout.

It's about what you do when things get hard.

Do you finish or do you lay down and quit?

COMMENTATOR: Here we go.

the kick is up and the kick is good!

And Michigan survives at Wrigley.

If we want to get to where we've got to go, you know,

we can't lose another game throughout this entire season.

The goal is to win every day.

COMMENTATOR: Michigan keeps its playoff hopes alive

by an eyelash at Wrigley.

REPORTER: The truth is with Bryce,

he was brought into Michigan for one reason above all.

That is to win championships.

Whether or not this team wins those championships

will fall on the shoulders of their young quarterback.

You hit November. They know what the stakes are.

Big Ten Championship game. How are you going to finish?

They remember what you do in November.

REPORTERS: The Ohio State Buckeyes have five games

coming up in the month of November.

You've got a couple weeks left in the laboratory.

It could be a fascinating end to the season for Ohio State

'cause there's a lot of opportunities on the table

for this team if they can continue

to handle their business.

DEVIN: After starting against Illinois,

one of my first starts out the way,

I started the week after too against Wisconsin.

Getting into the part of the season where,

you know, these games are really going to count.

Penn State is going to count.

Got to get ready for it.

I learned to watch film when I got to high school.

I was watching the best receiver,

if it was an outside receiver or a slot receiver.

My DC and my corner coach

and my head coach had trust in me

to go take that receiver out the game.

But then you get to college, it's a whole different thing.

Obviously, you still watch the best receiver.

But it's weird now in college.

It's a lot of shifts and motions and formations.

You've got to watch everything. You've got to watch the O-line,

the running backs, quarterback, receivers, obviously.

Formations, what formations they like the most.

And then, you know, you play a team like Penn State

that we play this week.

They obviously got two good backs.

They're going to try to get them going.

They got a couple good receivers.

They got some guys that can go deep.

So, I mean, you've got to take them serious.

[fans cheering]

COMMENTATOR: Top-ranked and unbeaten Ohio State

hosting 3-4 Penn State.

The Nittany Lions 0-4.

Lorenzo Styles comes in for Ohio State

as the DB replaces Devin Sanchez.

DAKORIEN: Going back into that role was kind of hard.

I came off a two-week start and I felt like

I was playing good and I was getting into a groove.

COMMENTATOR: They're going to stay with this OG lineup,

stay with what's worked.

And Devin Sanchez, he's the situational corner.

DEVIN: Now I just have to work harder.

At any point in the game, I could be in there again.

It's really just about me just going out there competing

and trying to get back on that field.

COMMENTATOR: And a throw goes up the left side

and it is caught by Hudson

right there at the 39 of Penn State.

Makes the grab, tippy-toeing the sideline.

So, if Buckeyes get corner Devin Sanchez

into the defensive secondary...

Second and eight, Grunkemeyer faking the handoff,

sets up at his 31.

Pass down the right seam and it is caught.

And the receiver is going to be wrestled down by Devin Sanchez.

DEVIN: My coach told me early in the week,

they're going to throw you one

and regardless of when it happens, just be ready

because it's going to come your way and that's what happened.

COMMENTATOR: Third and goal.

Penn State at the seven of Ohio State.

And a blitz coming. Throw will go incomplete.

Ohio State had Devin Sanchez covering the receiver.

So Ohio State defense certainly have answered the call today.

Ohio State remains undefeated, knocking off Penn State.

DEVIN: Been through some ups and downs this season,

but obviously snaps are going up.

I'm not done, obviously I want more.

Hopefully these games coming up.

DANIEL: I usually just get the New York strip.

DEETRA: Do you feel more comfortable?

DEETRA: That's what me and Coach Walton

was talking about last night too.

He said, you can't-- you're not like a normal freshman.

You can't say that, you know,

you're going to be sitting on the sideline.

LINDA: It's just like when you went to North Shore.

You know how you subbed in and out?

This is just another-- on another level.

It's a start of another level like you did

when you first went to North Shore.

And then what happened?

It's going to be one game and you'll be, like,

wanting to get out and get a breather because...

No, I was never going to do that.

My dad used to tell me I got to be urgently patient.

You may not be in the spot that you want to be right now.

But just continue to do everything

that you've been doing.

And I feel like that's what I'm doing right now.

I have a lot of goals that I'm, you know,

trying to get done throughout these last few games.

Obviously, the stats that I want

and make the push to get back in that starting role.

And then make a Big Ten Championship game.

What do you guys think y'all need to do, man,

to get there, Devin, get to this--Indianapolis?

The only way to get there is beat Michigan.

Because, I mean, we'll get through Purdue.

We'll get through UCLA, get through Rutgers.

Only way, like, we got a set shot to there is beat Michigan.

If we don't beat Michigan, then it's going to be

up for grabs between three, four teams.

So, right now, beat Michigan is the way to do it.

I'm sure they feel the same way.

But Ohio State is everybody's championship.

COMMENTATOR: Heck of a win for the Oregon Ducks against Iowa.

They're saying not season-ending for Dakorien Moore.

So, something to keep an eye on.

REPORTER: Next game that we've got, USC at Oregon.

It's a potential do-or-die game for both teams

In order to have a shot to make it to the Big Ten title game.

Alright, tight week. Quick turnaround for us.

But everything's going really well so far this week.

REPORTER: Talk a lot about trying to get

your players closer to each other

so they can fight for each other in those moments.

I'm guessing that's kind of what you saw on Saturday.

Yeah, I thought our guys had great composure.

It was kind of, you know, each guy had to do their part.

Like, you know, obviously, Dakorien wasn't playing.

But every time I turned around,

he was asking what's the play call.

He's cheering on his teammates.

I know everybody wants some updates

on injuries and where guys are at.

Dakorien kind of tweaked his knee

on a non-contact play in practice.

I think he's going to be okay.

But was obviously out this week.

DAKORIEN: The week of Iowa was when I hurt my knee.

I think it's something that happens often, you know.

So, like, I wasn't too mad about that.

But, it was just like, dang, why me?

You know, tight moment.

We're gonna work around

right around the edge of that sit bone.

Keep the knee straight to begin with.

[Dakorien exclaims]

DAKORIEN: That whole week was probably, like,

my best week of practice ever since I've been here.

The plan going in, I was probably

going to get the most targets that week.

STEPHANIE: There you go.

And then you're going to rotate your pelvis that way.

- [Dakorien groans] - Perfect.

And now move the knee back and forth.

That was probably God trying to sit me down

'cause I was going to probably do something crazy.

Push back. So that's going back to your heels.

Perfect. Once you get back there give me a little inhale, exhale.

He's down, but he's also handling it

incredibly well for a guy that's down.

I kind of feel it, like, the whole time in the back.

But, it's like-- it's not resisting.

DAKORIEN: I think it's probably like a strain, sprain,

or something being tight.

- Yeah. - Perfect.

LANNING: Dakorien's an impact player,

and we'd love to have him back yesterday.

Ultimately, we want to protect the player

and look out for his best interests as well.

It starts with a lot of daily work.

Stabilizing. Get an opportunity

to create movement to where we feel comfortable

and not putting himself at risk.

Like, when I'm on one leg, it feels unstable.

so you got to get used to it.

LANNING: He's a guy that's anxious

to be out there on the field right now.

So, we got to protect the player from himself

a little bit and say, we got to show

some of these benchmarks first

before we put you back out there.

DAKORIEN: In high school, I didn't really,

like, prioritize my health.

I never really took the training room serious

for real, for real.

All my little small injuries I had,

I kind of played through all of that.

[exhales sharply]

Just try to make it as even as you can.

DAKORIEN: You know, right now, honestly,

we got to win out, you know.

So getting healthy and getting back on the field

with my guys this week is at the top of the list.

to the College Football Playoffs.

DAKORIEN: This game is huge.

You know, this is another ranked matchup.

USC has been a dominant team, you know, this year.

They're scoring a crazy amount of points.

The importance of it, like, everybody understands.

Everybody, for a second, just take a minute.

Close your eyes.

I want you to picture the calmness

that you're going to operate with

getting to the next rep, the next moment.

We've got a mission in front of us right now.

And if they got the opportunity to, like,

I think it was just like another game to wake the nation up.

You know, just like, I feel like they had forgot,

you know, who we were.

At the end of the day, like, yeah, I'm hurt.

But if I'm not ready,

I'm not going to force myself to go out there.

And I think it's good

that the coach is not doing that either.

They don't want to rush me back.

So just making sure I'm available for my guys

when the most important time comes.

COMMENTATOR 1: Oregon to take on the Huskies next Saturday.

And then Oregon ended up

maybe being in that Big Ten Championship game.

So there's still so many scenarios.

COMMENTATOR 2: Yeah. It's just crazy.

REPORTER: Oregon's not the only team in the hunt.

Ohio State and Michigan, they're both playing

to keep a path to the Big Ten Championship game as well.

COMMENTATOR: Ohio State. Rutgers.

Cuts to the middle of the five and takes it into the end zone

for a 15-yard touchdown run.

Sayin will lob that right corner of the end zone for Inniss.

And Devin Sanchez continues to get a lot of playing time.

He wasn't a starter,

but he was able to come in and play a lot of snaps.

I just jumped it and it just felt normal.

It felt like I was back in high school.

Michigan has a really good game against Maryland.

Two weeks ago against Northwestern,

they just looked so tight.

They finally just went out and played.

COMMENTATOR: Bryce back to pass.

Now splits the defense and into the end zone.

And that will pretty much take care of it.

Ohio State defeats Rutgers 42-9,

and it is officially the start of Michigan Week.

REPORTER: The moment this game ended,

it did become Michigan Week.

How prepared are you and this group to go get it done?

The guys are already talking about it on the sideline.

And everybody's already locked in and fired up.

It's going to be a hell of a week.

REPORTER: How can a win like this set you up

for a big, challenging game next week versus Ohio State?

MOORE: I mean, it's the game, right?

I'm proud of this guy right here.

I'm proud of this team

and the way they responded in what they did.

And it's time to go prepare for the game.

Ohio State's ready for Michigan. It's a nasty rivalry.

Michigan still with an outside shot at the Big Ten title

and a good shot to go to the playoff with a win.

There are only four teams who are still in the race

for the Big Ten Championship.

And there are only three games

that really matter this upcoming weekend

who plays in Indianapolis.

Isn't this going to be a fascinating week?

Ohio State, Indiana, Oregon, Michigan.

Those four teams,

they want to make it to the Big Ten championship.

As of right now, it's looking like Indiana.

They're in the driver's seat. You're playing Purdue.

They should win that game.

For Oregon, obviously

they've got to beat Washington this weekend.

And if Ohio State loses to Michigan,

they're probably going to be facing Indiana

in the Big Ten Championship.

But if Oregon loses, and Michigan,

if they take care of business against Ohio State this weekend,

now you're in the Big Ten Championship.

Ohio State, all you have to do is beat Michigan.

One thing I will say that Ohio State has on their side,

every single player that's in that locker room,

whether they were a part of the team last year or not,

they saw Michigan go in and plant that flag on the logo.

Do you think they're not going to be motivated

to go in and play this game?

Ooh. [laughs]

BUD: When you say Ohio State, Michigan,

it's a blood feud there.

One of the best rivalries in all sports.

There's a lot of history in this rivalry.

When I would visit Ohio State's campus, right,

every street sign, every building sign

that had a letter M in it, it had a big old red X in it.

You know what I mean?

Two teams, two programs that completely

and holistically embody what the Big Ten is supposed to be.

JENNY: The best of the best in the Big Ten

going at it this week.

And the expectations are so high.

I just woke up, so I have a lot of comments left to give.

So where we're actually going is where that blimp is.

The blimps are the things that's in the air.

I remember asking my little sister for a shirt

'cause I couldn't find a mask, so I wrapped it around my face.

That's the first thing I thought of.

Any way possible for me to go out and get work,

no matter what the circumstances is.

JAY: Where the foundation was built.

How did you enjoy working out during COVID?

When everybody was inside, you was outside.

It felt like I was doing something wrong.

Like, it felt illegal.

JAY: You were doing something wrong.

- It felt very illegal. - [both laughing]

JAY: During COVID, you couldn't be outside.

So, you know, officers would give out tickets

for you riding your bike or, you know, just being that.

So give them a ticket just for being out here.

You know, but again, we came out here so much

that they would just sit and watch.

They didn't bother us. They knew

what we was coming up here for, so, you know...

That was the great part about it, you know?

That's how-- that's how we knew

that we was actually doing the right thing, you know?

When the cops say, "You know what?

We'll give you a pass. So we were good with that."

BRYCE: Training with my dad, I used to get upset

when I missed a pass.

Pissed all the way off.

And then when the opportunity came, like this game,

okay, you made a few mistakes, a couple mistakes.

Now, it's about what you do after.

It's about how you finish. It's about how you end it.

And I feel like that's what I was taught

from my dad, you know, going to every single workout.

It's about how you finish.

It's about how you go through adversity.

It's about what you do when things get hard.

You know, do you finish or do you lay down and quit?

JAY: We used to leave the field about 9:00 or 10:00.

So, now that you're in college

and we're on the second half of your season,

you know, what are you doing to prepare for it?

Especially without me.

For me, I feel like the difference

in the preparation style

is it was more physical when I was younger, probably.

Now it was getting more to, like, the mental aspect of it.

Just the mental strength

to go 12 or however many weeks

and still being able to keep your mental strength

and keep your mindset just strong to push another week,

and I feel like that's the real honesty.

These last couple of games I've been preparing,

you know, like I've never done before.

I just feel way, way more comfortable,

you know, but this week is a different week, you know.

Which one?

Yeah, sure. That works.

A team that wears the opposite of blue.

PRODUCER: How much does Michigan hate O.S.?

BRYCE: You know, I hate them now, so...

I can't even say bragging rights

because I feel like it's more than that.

I feel like it's bigger than the national championship.

And. yeah, that's all I'm going to put it for real.

Honestly, as far as, like, pressure,

inside of the game, there is none.

Because from times out here,

we act like it's the last play of the game

to you got to score the touchdown.

You got to get the ball right where you need it to be.

You need to make a play with your legs

and then throw, like,

I feel like every opportunity that I had going into, you know,

the moments that I'm having in college has just been done.

On the outside looking in, you got a lot on your hands.

You know, you got the whole stadium on your hands.

You got a whole state in your hands.

You got a whole fan base in your hands.

But in my head, it's me and my team versus another team.

Both trying to win a game, you know?

Best man win. That's all it is.

COMMENTATOR: It is rivalry week. It is Ohio State and Michigan.

We've got just seasonably frigid temperatures set for Ann Arbor.

DANIEL: Let's go, man. [whistles]

- WOMAN: Not bad. - DANIEL: Nothing.

DEVIN: My dad's the hard supporter.

DEVIN: You know, he supports me on a different level.

You know, he supports me as a dad,

but still as that coach.

DEVIN: You know, I know why he's so hard.

Because, you know, this is a grown man's sport.

And we got the big one coming up.

This weekend we're playing the team from up north.

No player on this team can say that they beat Michigan.

It's the biggest game of the year now, man.

This week's biggest game of the year.

I know.

I'm anxious about it, you know.

I'm anxious for, you know, the team, Coach Day.

They've worked hard for it.

I'm just ready for them

to get ready for this playoff win.

So that's what I'm looking forward to.

DANIEL: That time of season.

DEVIN: It's a big rivalry game.

I know we haven't won in, what, five years now.

So, it's just something that we...

that we need.

Especially for a chance to make it to the Big Ten Championship.

A place we haven't been in a long time.

It's a playoff game. That's the best thing about it.

You know, you got the opportunity

to send them guys home.

DEVIN: Also having a chance to repeat,

which no team has done in Ohio State history.

So that's really what we're playing for.

And all that comes down to this game.

We're going into their place. It's a hostile environment.

Probably going to be the most crazy environment

we're probably going to be in all season.

DEVIN: It's going to be a dirty game.

Probably a lot of flags thrown.

DANIEL: Yes!

DEVIN: It's going to be a physical game

from the first whistle to the last whistle.

This is definitely a big one to this team.

And, you know, I'm not going to take it lightly.

We're playing for an undefeated season.

DEVIN: For that number-one seed going into the playoffs.

It comes down to one game.

I'm starting to really think this table is crooked.

The rivalry, that was one of the things that they showed us

when we first came here.

We found out really more about the tradition between Ohio State

and what they call it, Itch-igan, or the team up north.

We're now in it. We're part of the rivalry.

Well, the first thing that will shock you

is the number of people that are in this place.

You go to pro games, you get 60, 70,000.

It's another thing when you got 100 in that place, right?

The pressure that these young men are under.

These young men have a bad day at their jobs,

you got a million people that see it on TV

and another 100,000 that see it live.

The banter back and forth is cool.

It's just when it starts to get crazy,

that's when you got to, okay, step away from it.

DANIEL: Nothing better than walking

in somebody else's house

and putting your dirty-ass feet on the couch.

[laughs] Wipe 'em off.

We have got to win this.

So Michigan will have, we would think, a field goal try.

And he knocks it through

to give Michigan a 3-nothing lead over Ohio State.

Sends it up the left side. Intercepted!

Jyaire Hill picks it off

and he brings it down the right sideline.

Jyaire Hill jumped in front of Jeremiah Smith

and gets his second career interception.

And Michigan has the football in Ohio State territory.

and the Wolverines have run 24 plays.

DEVIN: I can praise any quarterback

that can read our defense.

'Cause it's very hard.

Yeah, he may have won some games.

But he hasn't played the Ohio State defense.

But any small thing can happen.

Like, when you just let up on one play,

'cause, like, you can get towards the end of the game,

like, ah, they haven't scored all game.

And then you get lazy, and then they just pop one on you.

DEVIN: There's been guys on that team that's been here,

you know, four or five years that have never won that game.

And I really felt for those guys

that went through those hard times.

Those have been hard times with the Ohio State.

Just to see, like, the guys that are seniors

and fifth-year seniors, you know,

just the smiles on their faces when they win that game,

you know, for the last time ever playing that game.

It was crazy.

throughout the course of the year,

and they came up a little bit short today.

what did you think was the difference in this game?

MOORE: Yeah, they just played better.

They executed better. We didn't play good enough.

We didn't execute enough and they did when it mattered.

And they played a better game.

It was a great moment for our players.

I thought they played really well

and strong and physical in this game.
