Underneath that layer of feel-good meditation,

I know she's out here playing a game.

I like that, though, because we both

aren't afraid to be killers.

I really wanted to work with someone who no one would expect,

and Annie is that person for me.

I also have this solid alliance with Jake and Sophi.

First person voted out of Survivor 49:

Nicole.

The tribe has spoken.

What do you think Nicole said in her,

like, parting message?

"I hate these guys."

-Yeah. - "They lied to my face."

Yeah, "I'm never talking to them ever again."

I would say Tribal Council last night was pretty successful.

Nicole going did have a lot to do with us

trying to keep the tribe strong.

But then again, Annie being here

doesn't make us any stronger.

So, winning

for the Kele tribe is essential, at this point.

Let's see. Uh, we lost marooning.

We lost the supplies.

We lost the immunity challenge.

Hard to lose over and over and keep going back for more.

We have nothing here.

We have no flint to keep us warm at night,

no fire to cook food.

We have nothing.

The food out here on the Kele tribe is-is sparse.

There's nothing. There's only coconuts.

Oh, yes.

I am so hungry out here,

and so I have a few

new friends that I met in Fiji,

and they are earthworms.

They taste a little bit dirty,

so I'm just telling myself

that I'm eating dirt that kind of moves.

I'm perfectly comfortable

And so the worse

our conditions are,

the better it is for me, because I am

fine with struggle.

My tactic is to say,

"Hey, what do we think about maybe getting rid of Jake?"

But if we go to the merge with Jake,

Jake's gonna win over all of us.

If we go to the merge with Jake, like, we're all hosed.

I'm kind of controlling the band.

Everybody's got to follow me. I'm the puppet master.

Nobody sees the puppet master.

They don't know what they're doing up there.

They just see the puppets moving around.

And then Alex and I can come together

and decide what really needs to happen

and move the chess pieces around.

We take Jake to the merge,

- he wins over us every time. - Yeah.

It does scare me about challenges,

but here's the thing.

Sophi wants to vote out Jake.

Because I'm so connected to nature,

I really respect life in everything.

So I just wanted to take a moment, as a tribe,

to respect the life that we're about to end.

So just sending some gratitude

for the life force energy within the crab,

the sentience within the crab, you know, the part

of the crab that is connected to us on a deeper level.

Uli is the kind of tribe that

wants to make space for everybody's feelings and wants

to express gratitude in a way

that I think my generation was taught not to.

Look, I'm a different generation to some degree,

so I'm not as open as you guys,

but I appreciate how open you guys are.

I am certainly uncomfortable a lot in this tribe,

and I have to mask that uncomfort

without seeming uncomfortable.

God, I love these vibes here.

-I'm a certain vibe, for sure, you know? -Yeah.

Just feeling the vibes. Exactly.

I have never

used the word "vibe" to describe a group, probably, in my life.

And I think, unfortunately,

I have to say "vibe" a lot here,

because that's the language, you know?

It's about vibe, it's about making space,

it's about things that are "fire."

The amount of times they say it is actually kind of amazing.

I don't want to, like, interrupt these vibes

As alien and foreign as it feels to me,

I do need to adapt.

And so it's been interesting for me

to try to navigate those conversations

with some people who could be my kids.

I had the same vibes that you were saying,

and I feel the same way.

The superfan inside of me jumps up for joy

because Nate and I finally crack open the coconut

and really talk about how we want to work together

in this game and solidify a core group of four

with Nate, Savannah, Shannon and I.

So...

we finally get to talk about this four

that's been percolating for days now.

- I know. - I do too. I do too.

- It's easy. It's organic. - Absolutely.

Something that this group gives is definitely loyalty.

- For sure. - Yes. - And I think we all know

how strong a four could be.

You know, I really believe

And I think,

- emotionally, strategically... -Yeah.

For sure, but in terms of getting us

I freaking love this group.

I feel like each of us have different strengths,

maybe some different weaknesses, too, but honestly,

I'm feeling great about this.

this is probably something you would hear from me.

who has turned into the warrior princess,

now kicking butt all over this island.

She's also taken three dumps in the ocean,

caught a crab,

and she's now part of the majority alliance

on the Uli beach.

In general, I'm feeling really good vibes

from this tribe.

I mean, Hina-- we won that first challenge,

which builds

a ton of morale.

We have our camp supplies.

The Hina tribe is absolutely on fire right now.

But then, also, this game moves fast.

And you got to start talking to people.

And if you don't play the game, the game plays you.

I will say, I'm getting real good vibes from the two of you.

but I don't fully trust Matt.

Matt came to me and mentioned

me, him, Kristina and Steven.

And then someone was like,

"Sophie, you know, might be dangerous."

And I need to make sure

that I'm also putting things in motion.

Because I am not going home.

And she drinks all the coconut juice.

It's mind-baffling to me, but

my strategy with Annie is just to really feed

into her ego.

The more that I say yes to her,

she's, like, getting more confidence.

And, like,

when people get confidence, you know,

the better the blindside.

I feel like, in real life, she's a Karen.

ALEX Yeah.

I'm letting her talk, and, like,

with us, she's saying you.

She's saying me?

The people she's trying to rally

to get you out aren't gonna get you out.

Annie's playing the game very, very hard--

too hard, honestly.

Little does she know, us four are super tight.

She's trying to put people against each other

that are already friends,

that already have an alliance.

And I know my name's on her ticket,

so she's absolutely digging herself her own grave right now.

I don't think Annie has any idea how much trouble she's in.

But once you screw me, it's game over, baby.

She wants me out of the game, for some reason.

and she's just trying to be the leader right now.

Annie's bossing people around. She's telling people what to do.

She thinks she's the king bee in this camp.

And reality is, I'm always one step ahead of her.

I usually

have, like, really kind of out-there ideas.

Like, a couple years ago,

I thought I might want

to try my hand at being, like, a sports mascot.

I would want to be, like, a minor league baseball mascot.

-Okay. -But I don't have any mascot experience,

so, like, they don't hire me, obviously.

However, it was around Easter, and there was

an Easter Bunny opportunity.

So I applied to it.

I was the Easter Bunny.

I love Sage because

Sage is our humor.

Sage is our unpredictability.

But there is a core four.

There's me, there's Savannah, there's Nate, and there's Rizo.

And once you solidify that four,

just naturally, the other two

start to be on the outs in one way or another.

- ...because I think she's less strategic and less social. -I agree.

Jawan-- he 100% has gone out

on his own to look for the idol...

So he's looking-looking.

-He is looking. -Like, really, he is

so strategic. Like, he's in here to play the game.

out here so far, I have seen Jawan

And I'm like, "Are you serious?

and I feel like that's very suspicious.

Jawan is putting

these dirty sticks and leaves in his bag

because he's looking for an idol or the Beware Advantage,

trying to be sneaky, but you cannot pull one over on me.

My thinking is, he's probably

doing this just in case he finds an advantage.

He can just stuff it in that bag,

and no one's gonna think twice.

He thinks we're all idiots here.

Okay, I don't know if you noticed, but he had his bag.

Jawan could come back

that could end up screwing me and my game over.

Generally, when you go on these challenges,

two people are coming back

with a loss of a vote,

and someone's going home happy.

So at the end of the day, no, I didn't bring home

an advantage. But

I am very happy about not losing my vote.

On the one hand, I can really

gain some favor from my tribe

by giving the other tribes,

either Hina or Kele,

a disadvantage at the next immunity challenge.

But I need something to protect myself.

And it would not hurt to have that extra vote

in my back pocket, so,

I have a big choice to make.

The second part is, I had to make a big decision.

The parchment said help yourself or help your tribe.

-Okay. - So by helping myself,

I could steal a vote from either Matt or Jake.

Or I could help my tribe, and I could

do a disadvantage to either Yellow or Blue.

- Wow. -Wait. -So guess what I did.

Tada!

After going back and forth, I realized

helping my tribe, making sure my family sticks together--

that's the best decision for me.

I want my tribemates to trust me.

I love these guys,

and I want to be viewed as a team player.

- It felt good. -That's awesome.

I do not think Jawan realized he's, like,

this close to going home if we end up going to Tribal Council.

But now,

if that tribe disadvantage

is something we can use to win this challenge,

Jawan might have just earned

himself several more days in the game.

I mean, we have such a positive tribe already,

I'm really glad we've got our...

our, you know, plan in place.

I think Jake is definitely the right plan.

I've run it in my head six million times,

and I'm like, "Yup, this is the way.

- This is definitely the way." - Okay.

So I've been working

the last 24 hours to try and make sure

that Annie does not know she's on the outs.

She wants Jake out, and getting Jake out

does not work for me because he's my number one.

The loyalty really lies

between me and Jake. Me and Jake

are really controlling this entire tribe.

But Jake does have

a little bromance with Alex,

and I can't lie. I get jealous at times

because I don't want Alex

being an ally to Jake over me.

No way. No way, Jake.

Hmm?

- No... - Did you just find it?

- Yeah. - Wait. Wait. Wait. What's it say? What's it...

"Beware Advantage. If you take it, it's yours,

"and you must do what it says.

Otherwise, leave it."

I think we do it, too.

It says "Beware" for a reason,

and I am prepared to suffer the consequences,

because we have this alliance of four

with Sophi, Jeremiah, Jake and myself, but

within that alliance, do I feel comfortable with everyone?

Hell no.

"Once your tribe loses, dig at the base of tree mail

"for instructions on how to retrieve the idol.

"Until you take possession of the idol,

"you cannot participate in the vote at Tribal Council.

That's why it says 'Beware.'"

Having to wait to find a clue

to the hidden immunity idol is torturous.

As soon as we lose an immunity challenge,

I have to head straight to tree mail

because that's what it's gonna take

for me to maintain my safety, regain my vote.

immunity is back up for grabs.

For today's challenge, you're gonna

race over an elevated cargo net.

You're gonna then work together

to cross a wide-step obstacle.

You'll then dig up a ladder.

You'll use that ladder to retrieve a key.

Once you have the key, you'll use it to open a rope gate.

And then get everybody to the top

of a very steep ramp.

Once you're at the top,

two tribe members will work together

to solve a Survivor logo puzzle.

First two tribes to finish win immunity.

You don't have to worry

about going home, 'cause you're not going to Tribal.

In addition, you're playing for a reward.

and it will feed you. Get in the water.

Somebody ended up with power.

All right, Jawan has...

a disadvantage to assign to one tribe

in this challenge.

What?

Before I ask you which tribe and why,

let me explain what the challenge disadvantage is.

Every person on the disadvantaged tribe

will run this challenge with 20 pounds of coconuts

on their back.

That's part one.

Part two is,

instead of one key that opens the rope gate...

...they will have ten keys,

and you'll have to sort through them

until you find the one key, so it's a compound disadvantage.

Now that you know how much power you have, Jawan,

who do you want to give the disadvantage to and why?

Yo, that sounds so savage.

Oh, my gosh.

So, it's a tough decision.

But when I look at Blue,

and I know they've been going through a lot,

I couldn't put them through that.

So I'm sorry, Yellow.

- Wow! Shocker. -I'm sorry.

I think you guys are gonna kick butt anyway,

but my choice is Hina.

All right, so Jawan, you're putting the disadvantage

- on Hina? - Yeah.

All right, so, Sophie,

let's walk through Jawan's explanation.

In a sense, he's saying, "Let me do them a solid.

Sorry, I'll give it to you."

I think it's more of,

- "Let's take a shot at Hina." - Mm-hmm.

-Yeah. -They're coming for us.

I think that's what it is.

I'm seeing this as a hit to Hina.

I'll just let that rock.

Got to get everybody across.

You've got to work together.

I'm gonna need some help.

Sophi giving it a go.

And they got her. You're good, Kele. Drop.

Sophi took a big hit.

- The mat, the mat. -You're good, Kele.

Start digging. For the first time this season,

Kele can see other tribes behind them.

You guys go.

Sophie, feel free to take a breath, okay?

- Oh, my God. -You're good, Hina.

There you go, Uli.

Jawan is up now.

- You're good, Uli. Start digging. -Let's go, Uli!

Everybody now digging for that ladder.

Kele surprised.

For once, they're actually not in last.

Jawan had the disadvantage.

He gave it to Hina.

Didn't want to penalize Kele, and it's working.

Kele has their ladder, they're first through,

winless this season.

Plant that ladder and get somebody up there.

Everybody's still digging,

trying to find that ladder.

Now you're feeling the heat.

It is hot out here in Fiji.

Don't drop it!

Kele in the lead.

You got to untie that bag. That has your key in it.

Sophi has the key for Kele.

All right, we're pushing it.

- We're pushing it. - Okay. Go, go. Drop it.

Everybody else still digging.

- It's gonna be Jake. -You got it, Jake.

The advantage of only having one key is

that's gonna open quickly.

He can start working on that rope.

This is a massive time lead

for Kele.

- Here we go. Here we go. - Hina has their ladder.

Go, Hina! Dig deep!

Even with the 20 pounds of coconuts,

they're ahead of Uli.

Now you got to get somebody

to climb up that ladder, still with the coconut.

You guys are killing it, you're killing it.

It is Uli in dead last.

Still don't have their ladder.

- Jason going up. -Let's go, Jason.

You guys are doing so good.

You're good, Jake.

Everybody through, up to the ramp.

- Oh, my God. - I mean, what is...

Oh, yes!

And Jason has the keys for Hina.

Matt is gonna work with the keys.

This is the second part of the disadvantage.

Matt has to work through a lot of keys.

That is a big time disadvantage.

And Jake makes it look easy, pulls himself up.

Gets through it quickly.

to get through that rope.

It is Sophi and Alex on the puzzle for Kele.

This is a massive lead for Kele.

There's that little bit of that "last" is over here.

working on this puzzle, but making very little progress.

This disadvantage so far has had no impact.

That's how dominant Hina appears to be.

and the way they have dealt with it.

There's gonna be two fours and two nines.

- Right, but this one goes... - This one doesn't move.

Kele struggling, and it is clear

they don't really have any pieces.

- Got it? - Yup.

The question is, who will get the big fishing gear?

All we've done is lose.

Losing that challenge was horrible.

And this immunity loss hurts even more because

one tribe had a huge disadvantage,

and we came up short somehow.

But it's not an unfamiliar feeling.

This is the fifth time we've lost in this game.

So, clearly, there's still a weak link,

and the weak link might be me.

I was on that puzzle today.

Well, O and five.

It was just a puzzle that went wrong

because we're exhausted,

and those other teams have been eating

and have fire and all the things.

- We were so close, though. - I know.

So, it's just, like, horrible

one of us has to go tonight.

Now we're O and five.

It feels horrible to lose time after time after time again.

I mean, we're just operating on such fatigue.

And we have to have food or we're gonna

lose every challenge from here until we're dead.

We got to win a challenge.

Now I'm scared, 'cause, like,

- I really thought we were gonna win today. - Me too.

So who you thinking?

I want to do Jake, but I also just... I know,

if we don't eat...

I mean, you saw what he did.

- He pulled that ladder out like He-Man, you know? - Yeah.

God, I love Sophi, but she's...

she was the weakest one today, and I hate that.

Sophi really struggled today

in the whole challenge.

And this is the way Survivor goes.

I was steadfast in my decision

that tonight we need to get rid of Jake.

I've changed my mind.

- I think... I... - I...

I mean...

If that's the plan, then

I'm probably gonna cry tonight.

-No, I know. - But... but

- I'll do it. - Yeah.

Unfortunately, it's gonna be Sophi tonight,

and it's gonna suck. It's gonna break all of our hearts to have

to vote her off tonight, but it has to happen.

I am not writing Sophi's name down.

I turned on some fake waterworks to Annie,

because we're all deceiving her,

making her feel she's in control.

But tonight's Tribal is Annie's funeral.

And Annie has absolutely zero idea what's going on.

She's clueless. She's in the dark.

Yeah, Jeremiah is in.

Annie.

I'm writing Annie's name.

- Okay, so that's the plan? - Yeah. - I'm fine with that.

Okay, we got that, and now we don't have to, like,

- make it... -Awful.

Annie's throwing out Sophi's name now, you know,

after just having her mind set on Jake.

So it's just all this chaos.

She's kind of just digging herself

into a deeper and deeper hole.

I like Annie.

Of course, I would love to try and keep her and work with her.

But right now, I have no vote, and

I have to get this idol.

The Beware Advantage said,

as soon as we lose the challenge, I have to

go dig by tree mail.

All of a sudden, here comes Sophi.

- Soph? - Yeah, come here.

I absolutely want Sophi on this,

because right now, I'm closer with Alex,

but me and Sophi are number ones.

I got two number ones, man. I can't pick.

They're both... They're--

It's potato, "potahto."

No, I'm not lying.

- You're lying. - No, but we have to...

- Yay! Yay! - So it's the three of ours.

Okay.

So I dig up this cannonball with a chain,

and my mind explodes.

I don't know what in the hell is in store.

So I have to, or the idol will be dead.

Yeah.

- Okay, look. - The key is attached to that?

Yeah, so we got to keep unwrapping this,

'cause I got to get the whole thing out.

- Oh, my God. - Can you unwrap it?

This is written out of a horror story.

There is a key at the end

of this ball and chain, heavy as can be.

- Stop. You don't have to carry it. - I'm carrying it, buddy.

With this ball and chain comes a treasure map.

There's a little lockbox right next to the water well.

How in the world am I supposed

to find this tiny box in the jungle?

It's always something.

And now, it's a friggin' ball and chain.

I have to take this ball and chain,

this heavy thing that's making noises constantly.

I don't like that Sophi

got looped into what's going on.

And I don't want anyone else in my tribe to find out.

Come on.

I don't see anything.

We find the area

of where this idol is at, but it's so big.

There are so many leaves, so many rocks.

We have no idea where it is.

And then, I actually find the box that the idol's in.

I see that nobody's around me,

and they didn't notice that I found it.

Do I tell them that I found it

or do I be selfish?

So covering up this box prevents Alex from getting it,

because I want that idol.

I don't want him to have it.

I want full control of this tribe.

Guys, I'm gonna bring the...

I'm gonna bring the chain here into this part of the woods.

I'm trying to get this key and

try and come back to this later

and open it and keep the idol for myself.

Yeah.

Wait, what-what are you doing with it?

- I'm gonna put it on that side. - Hey, hey.

Jay's coming. Jay's coming.

We're all looking for this idol.

And like it's out of a movie, Jeremiah,

of course, is incoming.

Why don't we pull him in and say we just found it?

Yeah, yeah, we bring him in.

I don't know how we lie to him now.

We are being too obvious.

Why are we looking for an idol

and why are we doing it without him?

You know, that's probably what he's thinking.

So we tell Jeremiah...

We can't do anything

without other people knowing. It's just ridiculous.

Now all four of us know about this idol,

and it makes it even harder for me to keep it for myself.

They were

searching all around me, super close to me,

and all of a sudden...

Where is the ball and chain?

Alex finding the idol is horrible for me

because I'm not his number one.

His number one is Jake,

and I know if the time comes, he's either gonna use that

immunity idol on himself or on Jake.

"Congratulations. You have found a hidden

- "immunity idol. -Yeah.

"The last time this can be used is when there are

"five players left in the game,

and your ability to participate in this vote is restored."

- Good job, buddy. -I know. This is crazy.

I'm happy that Alex has the idol

and that they told me, but

there's four of us working together,

and I'm always the last person

to find out news.

So, I don't trust the alliance of four at all.

Like, I kind of think that

Jake and Sophi are gonna stick together,

so I'm worried it's gonna be one of us.

- Yeah. - And so, if we need to do something,

we need to do something.

Everyone's so ready to get rid of Annie.

That's easy, that's the safe option,

but me having the hidden immunity idol

opens up a room full of opportunities.

They were just looking for idols.

- That's kind of what I figured was going on. - No, I know.

So I think we just kind of keeping eyes on things.

No, I know. But guess what?

- We're... - So literally, I think let's make a big move.

And so,

we just stick with Sophi tonight, and then,

this is gonna get us far, you know?

At this point, no one knows how close I am with Annie.

We are so

under the radar.

And if I wanted

to make a big move and save Annie,

she could be a number for me down the road.

Think about how big of a move it is to get rid of Sophi tonight.

But it splits the two of them up.

Jake is super close to Sophi, and that scares me.

And so, I kind of want Sophi gone.

If Sophi's gone,

Jake's just gonna keep coming to me.

He'll have no one else.

My job on Capitol Hill

is all about having power, knowing information,

and knowing what to do with it.

And tonight, I'm not afraid to make a big move with my idol.

that Sophi is talking about are all the things

that make Survivor appealing,

is how difficult

every step you take is.

Yes, absolutely.

Um, I knew it would hit us this hard.

And, um... Wait, wait.

I'm even forgetting everybody's name out here.

So, like, yeah, like,

having no nutrition,

living off of coconuts, I've been eating worms.

- It's a good source of protein. - Wow.

So, like, we all signed up for this,

but I don't think we knew, like,

how difficult it was going to be.

So, Jake, how do you

assess this group right now to try to figure out

how to shift things in a positive way?

Uh, that's it, Jeff.

We need a core four that's going to get somewhere.

And we all have our strengths. And we can all say that

all of our weaknesses are puzzles,

'cause we can't seem to get one done.

Um, but we're dissecting who needs to go

in order for tomorrow

to possibly get some food in our belly

so we can feel human again, 'cause right now,

we're living in the Stone Age.

All these other tribes-- they're eating.

They got fishing gear, they got fire.

We need to be better at this game

or else we are going to die.

Guaranteed.

Sophi, there is a track record

of tribes who start poorly, but

for those who survive,

they actually do fairly well in the game.

- Yeah. - So you're not dead in the game yet.

- You're heading there. - Yeah, and I...

I think...

I think the beauty in losing

so many times is that you're kind of forced

to have your head in the game so early on.

You know, we-we had a leak in our boat.

I think we had multiple leaks.

We're heading towards that shipwreck.

Um, but I think Survivor is a lot like life in that

you can't always control the winds,

but you can always adjust your sails.

And tonight, the goal is

to adjust those sails into the right direction,

and hopefully not end up here

back at Tribal with you.

Alex, first vote,

all six of you said, "I'm 100%.

I know what's happening tonight."

- And then Nicole was blindsided. - Yeah.

Is tonight another blindside?

I think we're ready for a blindside, Jeff.

And I think it's because most of us were out looking

for idols today because we're so not confident.

I don't think anyone found one. I hope no one found one.

But we need

to be able to go with a cohesive group,

and that means someone's left out of the group.

Annie, how do you know

that it isn't you? What is it

that takes every Survivor player

and gives them that confidence to trust

in what they think is true is true?

N-- Just-- The word "trust"

should not exist in Survivor.

It just shouldn't. People say this word all the time.

It does not exist.

This is a game of deception by design,

and we all love it for that reason.

But trust doesn't exist in this game.

So you're saying...

Jeff?

I disagree with what she said, uh, because I think

you need trust to get to a certain point in this game.

You need to rely on people

to have your back at certain points.

You know, you might not be the strongest person in the tribe,

but you still have people seeing value in you and your vote

and you being an ally to them. I mean,

I currently think I'm in the majority

of what's happening tonight, so I feel

okay with what's happening,

but I was also part of the puzzle today.

It could easily be me.

And Alex, can you relate

to what Annie's saying, which is,

"Yeah, it's trust, but it's 'trust' in quotes"?

Of course it's a little bit

of "trust" in quotes, you know?

Anything can happen on any random night,

and you never know if someone's gonna blindside you.

You think you trust people,

but we'll see what actually happens.

-Annie. - Can I just add one thing?

I think, for me,

trusting my gut is the trust

that I can rely on, and so,

I don't want to suggest that there's no trust in this game,

because we have great vibes,

and we do have great connections with each other.

But look where that has gotten us-- back with you

for a second night in a row.

You know? And so, we can

go kumbaya all the way to our death real fast.

So, we have to win, we have to eat.

We cannot compete with any other team out there

if we don't get some food in our bellies.

We're gonna die.
