>> Steffy: Good little helper, aren't you?
Yeah. Hmm.
>> Liam: Hey, do you want to do baths after we get back from the
beach so we can get all the sand and sunscreen off them?
>> Steffy: Yeah.
Yeah, let's do that.
Hey, I forgot to ask you, how'd you, uh --
How'd you sleep last night?
[ Phoebe coos ] >> Liam: Yeah?
Uh, good. Great.
>> Steffy: Well, I heard you walking around.
>> Liam: Um... I...
I mean, I guess I'm just not used to the
house noises anymore.
>> Steffy: It's your first night as a newly un-married man.
We can be real with each other.
We always were.
>> Liam: I feel kind of dislocated in time, I guess.
>> Steffy: Well, this is where Hope wants you to be.
Can that be enough?
>> Liam: I sure hope it wasn't a mistake, sending all those
photos of you and your sister.
[ Knock on door ] >> Hope: Come in.
>> Brooke: Hi, honey.
>> Hope: Hi, Mom.
>> Brooke: I thought that maybe you'd like to come up
to the house and have some breakfast with me.
>> Hope: Uh...
I already ate, but thanks.
>> Brooke: You have bad news?
>> Hope: Well, Liam sent me that adorable photo of Phoebe,
but now I can't seem to find it anywhere.
[ Sinister music plays ] >> Ridge: Hey, Thomas.
I used to daydream, as well.
>> Thomas: When'd you stop?
>> Ridge: When all my dreams came true.
>> Thomas: Well, maybe all of my dreams will come true, too,
someday.
>> Ridge: Sure.
Well, that depends on what or who you're dreaming about.
♪♪ >> Liam: Uh, well,
she spit up a little bit.
>> Steffy: She does that after breakfast sometimes.
>> Liam: Yeah. Don't I know it?
[ Knock on door ] >> Katie: Knock, knock.
Oh, good! Oh, you're up.
Good, good, good.
Oh! Uh...
We didn't call.
And that's because, uh, this guy has corrupted me.
Sorry.

tell you not to.

Were you ever cute like this, or just that?

It's not that.
>> Zoe: You're having doubts.
You want to do what's right for Hope.

Even with the threats of Thomas Forrester

helps remind me of why Liam needs to be there
instead of here.

he doesn't think so.
>> Hope: Kelly and Phoebe need him, and there is a child here
at home who needs me.
>> Brooke: And Douglas is special, and he does blossom
when he's around you.
[ Sighs ] I just want you to be cautious
about Thomas, okay?
>> Thomas: [ Sighs ] I suspect you know this, but
I think about Hope all the time.
She's single now.

>> Thomas: It's gonna happen, Dad.
I mean, don't ask me how I know.
But I know.
And when it does, can I expect your support?
>> Zoe: I mean, can I just tell you how it makes me feel that
you want a happy ending for Hope, which will only mean the
end of us?
>> Xander: It doesn't have to.
[ Zoe sighs ] I love you.
You know I don't want anything bad to happen to you.
It's just...
I don't understand why you don't agree that something
has to be done.
For Hope's sake, and Beth's.

I didn't mean to eavesdrop.
>> Katie: So, a day at the beach sounds like fun.
We'll -- we'll get out of your hair.
It's just that, um...
When Brooke told me that you moved back in and why,
I just thought that, well, with Bill and me giving it
another go, maybe we might have some, um --
some hatchets to bury.
>> Bill: Preferably not in my skull.
[ Katie chuckles ] Even if I deserve it.
>> Katie: We're family.
Even if we do show up unannounced.

[ Katie laughs ] >> Liam: Uh, yeah.
So, speaking of breakfast, does anybody want some?
>> Bill: Um...
There's something I-I'd like to say.
I contributed to the, uh, breakup of your family.
The demise of your marriage.
Hell, I caused the breakup of my own family.
Now, that's not a full list of my misdeed.
Just a couple of the highlights.
>> Liam: Dad, I -- [ Sighs ] You -- you've apologized.
N-nobody is asking you to do it again.
>> Bill: Well, that's the thing, Liam.
What happened after the apologies.
The things I did wrong stayed wrong.
There was no fixing them.
But here I am today, with my Katie by my side,
putting my family back together.
Now, who would have believed this a year ago?
Nobody would have believed it, least of all me.
But it's happening.
And it looks like the two of you might be on the road to doing
the same.
So what I'm asking is that, if you two
find your way back to being a family again,
I'm hoping that you'll let me be part of it.
>> Katie: Us. Heh.
>> Bill: Yeah.
I'm hoping that you'll let us be part of it.
>> Ridge: And you don't think it's a little soon for Hope to
invite a new man into her life?
>> Thomas: Yeah, I'm not new, okay?
And I'm not insensitive, either.
The healing's going both directions between her and
Douglas.
And, look, she said she's grateful for Douglas and me
to be in her life.
She wants to see where it goes.
At some point, she's gonna turn to me.
It's the most natural thing in the world.
>> Ridge: And I think, at some point, you will be good for her.
>> Thomas: I want to move my generation forward the way you
did yours.
And that begins with Hope and me.
>> Hope: I hardly think Thomas is anyone I have to worry about.
>> Brooke: Maybe I misunderstood, then.
>> Hope: What?
>> Brooke: I came down here last night to say good night,
and you were in his arms.
>> Hope: I just -- I was having a bad night.
>> Brooke: Let me tell you something that you may not have
discovered yet -- Any man who's happy to be there
for your in your bad moments will more than likely reward you
with more of them.
>> Zoe: Oh.
Where did you come from?
>> Emma: I wasn't hiding.
I just, um...
We inventory everything we store here for the models' use.
>> Xander: Yeah.
Yeah, what, uh -- what -- what needs cleaning and what needs
repairing.
>> Emma: Right.
We used to work on that together.
I didn't hear anything you were saying.
I just recognized your voice, and wanted to let you know
I was here.

Some things just can't be fixed.
I mean, look at Bill.
Whatever he went through last year, whatever you want to call
that, none of us could have done anything about that.
He had to fix himself.
And somehow he was able to find his way back to his family.
He was able to...
fall back in love with me, and with our child.
>> Liam: Yeah, well, unfortunately, falling in love
with our child sent Hope and me in the opposite direction.
Apart.
>> Katie: But giving you back to your daughter was the only thing

And maybe someday you'll feel the same way.
>> Thomas: Dad, I love you, but there's got to be a better

than the way that we did.
>> Ridge: Because I wasn't there full time.
Thank you, Captain Obvious.
Got it.
>> Thomas: Look, Steffy's children now have their
father back.
And Douglas isn't gonna grow up without a mother.
Hope cares for him.
She cares for me.
A-and that's all I need.
I don't need to chase some impossible dream when life's
placed everything right in front of me.
>> Hope: Thomas is your stepson.
So...
What are you trying to say?
>> Brooke: I've known him longer than you have, and at closer
range.
>> Hope: Okay.
So what do you suspect him of, exactly?
>> Brooke: [ Scoffs ] You're not gonna play naive
with me, are you?
>> Hope: Okay, yes, Mom, Thomas has feelings for me,
and he cares about me, but I -- I can hardly hold that
against him.
>> Brooke: He loves to show up unannounced with Douglas.
He loves to make plans for you and Douglas.
Now, Douglas is innocent.
But his father?
>> Bill: That one's for Phoebe.
She'll grow into it.
>> Steffy: [ Laughs ] It's beautiful.
It's so sweet. Yeah.
>> Bill: [ Chuckles ] >> Liam: If only she had
more hair.
>> Bill: Oh, and, uh, those are for Kelly.
Those aren't just any chocolate-chip cookies.
They are Belgian chocolate-chip cookies.
>> Liam: Ahh.
>> Bill: Wyatt said she just got another tooth.
>> Steffy: Uh, yeah.
Yeah, number six.
>> Liam: Yeah.
You ever try eating with six teeth?
>> Bill: What, you think I couldn't?
>> Liam: You know what, actually, I believe you could.
Um, you have constantly done things that I never thought
anyone could -- or would -- do.
Like coming here today.
Facing the two of us.
Being willing to take your knocks, even after all the
knocks you've already had dealt to you.
You know we're probably gonna have a falling out like every
two years, right?
>> Bill: Oh, yeah. Sure.
Well, actually, I was hoping maybe every four to five years.
>> Liam: And another thing -- when you babysit, you do not get
to distract the girls with a shiny toy and then make business
calls all night.
You actually have to pay attention to them.
>> Bill: What?!
>> Liam: You know this, right?
>> Bill: Come on!
You gonna stand up for me, here?
>> Katie: He can do that.
He can do that.
>> Liam: Uh, okay.
Then allow me to say something I never thought I'd say.
Thank you for coming.
>> Bill: [ Sighs ] I love you, Liam.
It may be an aggravating kind of love...
>> Liam: [ Snorts, laughs ] >> Bill: ...but that's how you
know it's real.
And I promise that I -- >> Liam: Hey, no more
promises with expiration dates.
Just...
be honest even when it's inconvenient, and do what you
say you're gonna do, and we'll be good.
>> Bill: Fair enough.
>> Liam: I love you, Pop.
>> Hope: You're reading too much into this, okay?
Douglas comes here because he wants to.
>> Brooke: Honey, I'm not saying that he's not lonely.
>> Hope: Well, you should see him.
He brings me flowers and -- and draws these little pictures
and -- and writes little notes.
It's -- it's sweet.
It's not a conspiracy.
>> Brooke: Flowers and notes.
Those are not impulses of a child.
>> Hope: [ Huffs ] Okay, then, so what are you
suggesting?
>> Brooke: It would just be wise of you to be guarded.
You don't remember everything about Thomas.
He's not the most stable member of the family.
And this sudden attachment that he has to you out of nowhere,
it worries me.
>> Thomas: Too much sadness and sacrifice.
Douglas lost his mother.
And not to the same degree, but Kelly lost her father when
Steffy lost her husband.
Don't you see how easily this can all be mended?
>> Ridge: Hope lost her daughter.
Maybe that's beyond mending.
>> Thomas: You always talked about how destiny led you to
Brooke.
Now I understand, you know?
Destiny's something you can see, something you can taste.
>> Ridge: Hey, a little word of advice -- all those things that
we work for all our lives, they can be taken away
just like that.
[ Thomas sighs ] But destiny, that's there.
When you're ready to claim it.
>> Thomas: I've loved you since we weren't much more
than children.
And we had to go our separate ways, but now we found our
way back to each other, I can't let you go.
You're free now, Hope.
And so am I.
Say you'll marry me.
>> Hope: Be your wife?
Be Douglas' mother?
[ Giggles ] Yes! Yes.
I wanted it all along, I just didn't know
how to tell you.
And you have been so patient, waiting to hear those words
that I have always, always wanted to say.
I love you, Thomas.
I love you so much.
>> Thomas: It wont' be long now, Hope.
I've waited long enough.
