And somebody came to me after the show
and they said, Tony Bennett would like

out of the place for you. I'm going to
say it again. He's the greatest singer

the world today.

That's the first time I ever saw her
perform.

The most profound entertainer I've ever
witnessed.

real nervous to meet Tony Bennett. Plus,
I looked crazy.

I had blonde in my hair and black in my
hair, red lipstick, four big velvet

moles on my face. I was doing my thing.

So I went into my trailer. I said, take
it all off and make me look like a lady.

And I went to meet Mr. Bennett.

And he said, would you make a record
with me?

And I said, Tony, thank you so much. You
only heard me sing two songs.

I realized what an artist he really is.
And then he said, Lady, you are a jazz

singer.

The minute we're together, something
very good happens between the two of us.

But then we made love for sale, and I
really knew how much.
