we're not even halfway through the

season. We have to, like, focus on
sluicing and hit our 10 ,000 ounces this

year. Particularly because the price of
gold's really good, and nobody has a

clue how long it's going to stay that
way.

Mining mogul Parker Schnabel is on a
tear.

Ten weeks into the season, he's already
stacked $15 million in gold.

Now. He's shifting into overdrive, eager
to take advantage of the summer

weather. So we just have to make hay
while the sun shines and run four

Mitch and Brennan, now they're running
on the Indian River.

That's the next big pit for Roxanne.

Of course, we still have the two plants
at Dominion plugging away.

Tyson's doing really well this year.

He's doing a very good job of handling
things at Dominion.

But we just have to kick it in high
gear.

This year is definitely the most I've
ever taken on in my career.

Definitely pushing me to my limits,
seeing what I'm capable of.

Definitely keeping me busy. On average,
I'm working from 15 to 16 hours a day.

But man, am I tired.

I'm good. How are you doing? I'm pretty

A couple things.

I want to get another plant running in
the Golden Mile.

I have two wash plants set up there.

Bob is sluicing the bridge cut.

Two miles away, Sluicifer is finishing
off the first 11 acres of the Golden

Mile.

Now... Parker wants Tyson to move
Sluicifer 800 feet to a new pad to

sluice the next 15 -acre section.

To get through the pay as fast as
possible, Parker wants to resurrect his

plant, Big Red, and set it up next to
Sluicifer, doubling his golden mile

firepower.

The mechanics are not going to be happy.

The loose runs and the pre -wash need a
lot of work.

And that's pretty much what makes up a
wash plant.

And Parker wants it running by the end
of the week.

Yeah, this plant was in really bad
shape.

After last year and pieces flying off of
it, the thought of even rebuilding it

surprised me.

Last season, after 13 years hard mining,
Big Red suffered a catastrophic

breakdown.

Now, Parker's mechanics need to
resurrect her in just three days.

First up, attach Big Red's refurbished
hopper where gold -rich pay dirt is fed

into the plant.

The issue we're having is that right now
we have this pre -wash hung on these

And this arm, whole support arm, is

But when we do, this is floating free.

A lot of weight here.

So if we don't control it, the thing
could just shoot off into there.

running at their maximum capacity.

I'd like to have a double wash plant pad
for Sluicifer and Big Red done.

Sluicifer has a couple days of pay left.

It's going to be out here until 9, 10,
11 o 'clock at night tonight.

Wake up at 5 a .m. and we'll do it all
over again.

So we have a lot of work to do and not
much time to get it done in.

Ten miles south.

The corner cut is so big that it's going
to take us a while to get down to pay.

Not only that, a fair amount of it is
frozen.

So we got the river cut down there that
we cleaned up last year. So that's ready

to go. Start to buy this a little bit of
time so that we can get the corner cut

ready. You got to have ground to head.

You cannot shut down for 14 days because
you weren't ready. You got to be ready.

To get through all this ground, Tony's
dropped a million dollars on a new wash

plan.

The new spruce boxes arriving today, so
that'd be pretty exciting.

Because then we'll double production
right there.

And I mean, with the way gold prices
are, boy, what an opportunity it is.

Make some money, as they say.

Double the trouble, double the gold.

The faster we can get this thing going,
the better it is.

Tony has spent a lot of money this year
on new equipment that is way more

reliable and does a way better job of
catching the gold.

So I think we should lift up the front.

In the 22 -acre early bird cut.

His wash plant, Sluicelot, has nearly
finished chewing through its pay.

Once it's out, Tony wants to move it
upstream to run his piggy bank, the 17

-acre river cut.

Then he'll bring in his brand -new wash
plant to sit side by side.

Together, they could bring in upwards of
$16 ,000 in gold per hour.

There's just one problem.

The river cut is flooded.

We're going to take a hole for the pump.

We'll get rid of all the dirt.

So we're going to put the pump in.

Then we'll pump the water down. And then
it should be pretty much good until

we're completely finished with this cut.

I can put this side boom in place.

brings in their submersible pump,
capable of shifting 1 ,000 gallons of

hour. It'll take a day to drain this cut
by that time.

We hope to have the auto watch plant set
up.

to Vegas Valley.

I got to put my resources where I know
I'm going to get the most gold.

With the gold sitting here that we know
is here, we kind of got to jump on that.

You don't really care where the gold
comes from, do you?

As long as we get that gold in my
pocket.

It's been a roller coaster, if there
ever was one, of a year. We started the

season off with no water license, no
word of mine.

Ended up taking a huge gamble and a big
chunk of ground, Lightning Creek, and

going back in debt.

For the work that we've done there,
there really hasn't been much gold, and

that's a worry on everybody, especially
me. But now, out of the blue, we get a

water license here at Vegas Valley, and
we're not prepared for it, but hell

yeah, we're coming back to it.

We know the gold's there. We're going to
go get it.

To get Troy 100 ounces by the end of the
week, Rick plans to run a stockpile of

Vegas Valley pay left over from last
season.

We've got a pile of pay sitting there
ready to run.

But our wash plant's not ready.

Monster Red needs some work.

We just haven't gotten around to fixing
it because we didn't know if we'd even

be able to use it this year.

There's water pouring out from the
backside of the feeder.

Last season.

Water line.

Monster Red's main water line sprung a
massive leaf.

You're not going to like what you see.
It's big. It's like half the pipe.

It obviously got caught by the bucket.
The line should have never been there.

The water line is in a spot right behind
the feeder, right behind the grizzlies

where boulders the size of small cars
are coming off of.

Rick's tasked mechanic Ryan Kent and his
crew to cut out the damaged area of

pipe. pull both ends together, and clamp
it back in place.

Kyle will get his chainsaw. He'll chop
that up.

We'll be able to yank it, and we'll get
it close enough to put those together.

I hate doing that band -aid, but we're
out of time for this season, so we just

can't run the plant until it's done.

So, yeah, I'll get the 460 over and
let's hammer it out.

It just makes sense to come back here.

We've got a monster pile of hay right
there that would give us a boost through

the season.

The problem is we're short on time.

Gold's still owed to Troy, so it's going
to be a pass job.

Honestly, if we needed to run and pay,
be careful.

We are right on the edge of that feeder.

We don't want to take too much away from
this edge right here and weaken the

bank. Otherwise, we're going to end up
losing the feeder.

I just need to get this rack out.

Ryan's attempted quick fix has created a

Now, they need to dig up the entire 200
-foot -long pipe to make the repair.

It's only going down inches at a time
here. We've only got one clamp to make

this work.

The last thing we want to do is put
another hole in a piece of pipe.

See, once it's pulled out and exposed,
we'll pull it so we can get our new

connection put in.

That's it right there.

Ah, this mess.

That's how it was buried? Yeah.

So from the beginning, this was amateur
hour when it was put in.

Yeah. Yeah, it's bad.

It's not exactly tricky. You just got to
get it right.

I mean, the hardest part is getting the
two ends to line up.

That was close, right?

We're touching.

Once it's close enough, clamp it, and
it's good.

I'm not too happy about leaving the
water line where it is. That's why it

damaged in the first place. But
unfortunately, we just don't have the

move everything. So we're just going to
cut some corners, unfortunately, and

have to be extra careful to make it
work. And by doing that, we're going to

able to save a week's worth of flucid.

I think we're good.

That's mint. Yeah, it closed right up. I
want everybody to take pictures of

where it's at so they remember.

We got the water line fixed. A bit of a
pain in the ass, but we got it done.

The next step is to get the water pump
down to Lightning Creek because we don't

know if it's going to hold until we put
pressure on it. So we get that all

hooked up, and if it holds, we're in
good shape. We can run Monster Red.

This might be the last load of pay from
the pyramid cut.

Hey, Kevin, you got a copy? We just
dumped the last load of pay from the

cut there.

The pay pile looks big, but she won't
last that long. We've really got to

into that new ground and start hauling
pay as soon as possible.

So we got the pyramid cut open, and
we're running that pay, but that is

So right now I'm off to go look where
we're going to start stripping next.

While his dad, Tony, expands his empire,
Kevin Beetz is struggling to stay in

the game.

Nearly halfway through the season, the
sophomore mine boss is short on crew,

short on gold, and short on time.

Making me a little hesitant about a 2
,000 -ounce gold.

We're not hurting yet, but it's
definitely not great. So we're going to

speed up, be more efficient. And the new
cut, once we get into there, we're

going to have to open it up pretty
quick.

Otherwise, we're going to have no pay to
run, which means no gold in the box,

which means no money coming in, which
means no bills being paid.

So, better pick and write, I guess.

So we just have to figure out what is
going to be the quickest, easiest,

options. There's only so many of those
that we got to pick from, given what

claims we have.

Just over the years, I just kind of
picked up from Tony what to look for.

Because doing it for a quarter of a
century, you're just naturally going to

learn something.

Kevin has identified a block of ground
500 feet north of his wash plant setup.

Hmm. This spot would probably be it,
honestly.

It's in the valley, relatively flat,
really accessible because our plant is

down the way.

I did do some test holes last year, year
before, and I got 15 feet down a saw.

That's pretty good.

That's something we can work with.

This next cut is going to be a big
decision because I hope it's going to

to the end of the season.

So I really do hope that it's going to
pay out.

I think we're going to call it the
Sphinx Cut.

At Scribner Creek, Kevin has spent
nearly 10 weeks mining out the three

Pyramid Cut and now has just a stockpile
left to run.

500 feet up the valley is his new seven
-acre Sphinx Cut.

He needs it ripped, stripped, and down
to pay in the first section before his

stockpile runs out in a week time.

With no time to waste, Kevin sends in
operator Tyler Potter and his biggest

mover, the D10 dozer.
