Hello. Hold on...it's for you

Thanks

Speaking

Okay...okay....

I'll be there right after work

Anything else? Okay...okay

I'm sorry

I'm sorry

It's alright

Thanks

Someone has betrayed us

Good...five million!

Darling, the five million is all ours now

Now it's only big brother & I to share it all

Five million is a lot of money

You two are really tricky

You betrayed everyone once you got the money

Maiguang, I'm telling you

Don't be so heartless

Well, so what?

Don't say that

Honesty is a virtue

If your boss can betray them...

He can also betray you. Better think about it

Having five million all by yourself

is better than having to share it with someone else

That's right. It's good to have it all by yourself

What's wrong?

Go take a look, I think the car has a problem

I don't see anything wrong !

Bend a little to see if the water tank leaks

Everything okay?

Perfect

Big Brother, you're so smart

You asked a movie star

And a car racer to go robbing

No matter where they are hiding

They can easily be identified

Oh yeah

By the way, where's Lucy?

A while back she reminded me that...

To have 2.5 million all by oneself

Is Better than sharing it with someone else

So I got rid of her at seaside

Good!

So now the five million is shared

Only between me and you

Let me get you the money now

Good

Ladies and Gentlemen

About the 5 million bank robbery case of this morning

Police has now asked the retired singer Fangting

... to help with the investigation

Miss Fangting's boyfriend, the famous car racer

Huang Philip

is one of the five wanted suspects by the police

We'll soon interview Miss Fangting

Whatever we find out from her...

we will soon bring you a full report

Dad

Wait for me inside

Inspector, a few reporters want to meet with you

Ask them to wait for me

Why are you here?

Dad

Grandma asked if you will come home for dinner

Not tonight. The five million robbery case

...is killing me, you know

What's this?

Some worn out clothes from school, I'm taking it home

Good. Go home then!

Tell grandma I won't be home for dinner

Without you, grandma has no mood to eat

Bullshit. All she cares about is you

She won't eat if you're not there

Go home!

Okay!

I'm going. Bye.

Inspector, where's the five million?

How do I know?

It's not with me anyway

Bye

I'm going, bye

Inspector, what are you planning to do?

We will start with each suspect's family

And you boasted about how good your son is

Good! He's so good now he's taken to robbing

We're all affected by him

All you care about is your daily fix of cigarettes

If only you'll do your part

Does he need to do that?

Stop it, we are here for your son

Not to see you two argue

Aren't you here for my son?

Yes

Then you need only to ask her, it's her son

What time did your son go out this morning?

I don't know, I didn't even see him last night

Inspector wants you on the phone

Okay

Brother Long, what should we do now?

First let's see what's going on with Li Guochao

Go change the clothes

Do you know them?

Yes, this is Mr. Li, the brother of Mr. Li

Where are they now?

I don't know

This is our search warrant

Come on

Brother Long, the police are here

Let's go

Stop it

It's clear

I always doubted about Maiguang's reliability

Still we aren't sure if he has betrayed us

Who else?

There are only five of us on the television

Brother Long, come here

Chao, let me ask you this

Have you ever met with Maiguang's boss?

No, he always said his boss can't show himself

And he asked me to trust him

By that time I was too busy with settling

The huge debt of Guocheng

I didn't really have the time to think

I'd say we are too stupid. In this world

Even the left hand doesn't trust the right hand

It's millions of dollars we are talking about

And we've put all our trust in Maiguang

And someone we've never met before

Let's go deal with Maiguang once and for all

No. Hang on

We'll get caught if we go like this

Let's wait and see for a few more days

Maiguang is such an asshole

Take him away

Yes

Inspector, we heard that the deceased is your spy

And that he has given you all these information

Is it true?

That's right

He gave us information about those men

Inspector, about this case

What more can you tell us

Nothing for now

Inspector, I'm now watching Fangting's home

It all seems to be okay

Alright

Number 44...

How is it with your side?

Sir, it's very quiet here

Qing, how is it going on in Li Guochao's home?

Nothing is happening today

Wait

Looks like she's going out

Guochao

Is anyone following you?

Sister-in-law, why are you here?

What happened?

I've arranged with Guochao, if anything happened

He will hide in here, and I'll come to meet him.

How is it going on out there?

Have you met with Maiguang?

Have you met up with Maiguang?

He died last night

What about the money?

Not found yet

What about Lucy?

Haven't heard anything about her

So, Maiguang is dead

The only clue is to find Lucy

I guess the police didn't know she's involved

Maybe can you....

Zifen, you are the only one that can go out

Miss Chen

Miss Chen

Miss Chen

Quiet please

Who are you?

I'm the younger brother of Lucy

My sister asked me to contact you guys

Where are they now?

Are you really Lucy's brother?

Of course I'm her brother

How else would I wait for you here !

Please trust me

My sister has in her hand five million cash

And a big fishing boat

She is prepared to leave here tomorrow

Tell me quick, where are they hiding?

They are holed up inside Taian ship factory

How many of them?

Guochao, Guocheng, Mr. Ma

And also Jiuzai

That leaves one out. Okay, never mind

Go tell them to wait at the ship factory

At 11p.m. tomorrow night

My sister will be there for them

Mr. Chen, it's so good to see you

Otherwise I really didn't know what I should do

Don't mention it, we're all family

Huang Philip is missing !

Taxi

Miss Fangting

Li Guochao sent me to contact you

Don't get nervous

Because the police are behind us

Just act like you would when sitting in a taxi

And listen carefully to me

The five million is now with Li Guochao

Tomorrow night at 11p.m.

At Taian ship factory at the west side

There will be a ship to take them away

You try to inform Philip at once

Where did she go?

After she left the clinic, she came here

And was sitting there until now

Could it be a phone call from Huang Philip?

Go find out who the call was from

Li Guochao said to meet me

Tomorrow night at 11p.m.

Where?

Taian ship factory

Big brother, it's about time

Yes, almost time

Brother Long

We'll be rich, half a year later...

We'll take with us a few hundred thousand dollars

It's sister-in-law

Zifen, how come you're here again?

I came here to flee with you

What about our family...

There're only 3 of us in the family anyway

Wherever we are, our family will be there

Li Guochao

How come you are here?

It's you who asked Fangting to call me

Oh my god!

Run

Stop...stop

Stay there...

Stay there, don't move...

Over there...

Inspector, you see

Go...quickly

Go...jump into the water

Stay there...

Go

You can keep the change

Thank you

The car key

Keep quiet and drive to the New Territories, now

How come there's someone else too !

You robbed the bank today

I found your face very familiar...

The first time I saw you

Then I recalled seeing you on TV today

Then why didn't you scream earlier?

Why should I scream?

Ask someone to arrest me

I'm not the police

Don't you fear me?

Why should I fear you?

I'm the robber

So what?

Are you a robber by birth?

No

It's just that I'm fatherless by birth

I never knew who my father is

My mother brought me up and remarried a drunkard

Cry

You've cried all day long

You've cried all my fortune away

Cry again and I'll....

Okay, dad

They are hungry, they've nothing to eat

Of course they'll cry

The best cure for hunger is to die

No cigarette for me, who will care for me?

It's all your damn mom's fault

It's so late, yet she hasn't brought back a dime

I'll kill you

Okay, stop it

You can't beat them because you have no cigarette

What did you say?

I'm teaching my own kids, what's that to you?

Who are you to talk to me !

I'll kill you too

How come you like to beat people up

You...how dare you beat me....

So what?

How dare you beat your father?

You devil, you've crossed the line

You're not good enough to be my father

Mom

Jiuzai, why are you here?

Little brother and sister went without food today

Get a bowl of noodle for them

Mom

What?

Don't you want to see how they are doing?

I've to do business

Ever waited for your mom outside a cheap inn ;

Wait till she finished her business

And get some money to buy food for your siblings

I don't want to be rich

I just want some money

For mom to have a worry-free meal

For my brother and sister to go to school

And I don't need to get along with those people

To be looked down on before I can have a meal

Then why don't you get a job?

Get a job?!

Don't you know how many people in Hong Kong...

are unemployed despite being educated?

I'm illiterate

What can I do? Live on woman's money?

That's why you went to rob a bank

Personally I never did plan to rob

I'm a fan of the Kung Fu star Ma Rulong

When I was young

After he broke his leg, he became a car repairman

And I stayed with him

One day, he was in urgent need of money

He went to the billiard room to find a friend

Brother Long, what's up?

Look here

The Kung Fu star Ma Rulong

The crippled star Ma Rulong

Jiuzai...

Brother Long, stop it

How much sugar?

Leave it to me

You two are really something

You can handle several men at one time

Let me introduce myself. I'm Maiguang

Brother Long, I loved all of your movies

Oh, never mind

And I know what a great house you used to have

Forget it, it's already mortgaged

And the due date is anytime now

Actually, a man as good as you

Can easily earn a million to redeem your house

My boss has connections on both sides of the law

But he can't show himself

Now there's something big coming up

I can guarantee that you two...

Can earn over a million

Never imagined that I will come to this

Just for a few bucks

You must be from a rich family

Very rich. My father owns a bank and a jewelry shop

He was the President of Po Leung Kuk

You must have led a good life

Not really

For the sake of socializing

My family held party and ball almost every night

It was indeed glamorous

But all this isn't my cup of tea

Always been a loner

Smoking and drinking in the garden

Because mom has her lover

And dad also has his mistress

They never have time to care about me

So what's there for me?

I have my own way of enjoying life

It's your turn

Open the door

-Bye -Bye

But when the night is over

And when I went home all alone

I always wonder

Why should I pass everyday like this?

Why am I so lonesome?

In some way

Both of us are pitiful

Both of us have been left behind by this world

The only difference is...

You need money, I need love

But both of us need warmth badly

That's why every night you drive all by yourself

To look for fun

Or you can say that I'm looking for the love I want

I can handle it from here

I don't want to bother you that much

-Mom -mom

What are you doing in here?

Guocheng was said to take drugs here every night

I didn't believe that, I want to see for myself

Guocheng...Guocheng

I'll tell you what, if you can't repay me tomorrow

I'll kill you

Okay! Okay!

Mom

Doctor

Guochao, I know Guocheng is not a good boy

But throughout these twenty years

We have only each other to rely on

After I pass away

Don't care only for Zifen

But you should care for your brother too

Hold it

I'm the police, give me that book

Give it to me

Stay there, don't move

Damn it

You want to die?

It's a hundred grand we're talking about here

Bloody hell

Mai

What happened with Li Guocheng?

He lost the goods worth a hundred thousand

The boss thought he stole them

Here is this week's protection amount

Daiqiao

Take him out and give him a good thrashing

Hold on

Ah Cheng

If you can't repay the hundred thousand dollars

You'll be in big trouble

How about if you help me with some business

Then I'll take care of your debt

What business?

Your brother used to work in a security company

He must know the details of bank's cash delivery

Zifen, will you listen to me

If I don't help Guocheng

He will be killed by his loan-shark

Guocheng, Guocheng

You and your mom care only for Guocheng

Your mom doted on him when she's alive

And now you're doing the same after her death

Both of us have the same mom

Of course she loves both of us all the same

Mothers will care more for the weaker one

Guocheng is really pitiful

Ever since childhood he's been fond of studying

But our family couldn't afford his schooling

That's why he has become what he is now

But you know, what you did is unlawful

I know

After I get the money and settle Guocheng's debt

I'll surrender myself to the police

Only by doing so can I face my mom

But... this will let you down...

Let bygones be bygones

If you love your mom, love your brother

Then you should surrender yourself

Guocheng...Guocheng...

Where are you going?

I can't stand it any more, I need more drugs

Let me go

Guocheng, you can't go

You can't go

Guocheng...Guocheng...

Guocheng

You can't go, you can't !

Let me go

Guocheng

You can't go

Guocheng...Guocheng...

Guocheng, you can't go

Go surrender yourself!

That's for tomorrow

I need drugs now

Guocheng, you can't go

Guocheng

Oh...my eyes

Who is it?

It's me! Guocheng

Buy as much as there is

Guocheng is here

Get him

Don't run

Stay still...

Hurry up

Guocheng, Guocheng. Come up

Here...

Did you see him?

No

Let's go!

Do you know?

I've seen you at the Macau Grand Prix

You were the ruling champion that year

That was long ago

Back then

Those were the happiest days of my life

Wealth

Career

Love

I had everything

Then why did you rob the bank?

Because I needed money

I used to race for a living

Maybe you know that too

In the field of car racing

I've got myself some fame

My girlfriend is a famous singer

Her name is Fangting, I guess you've heard about her

We were very happy together

Until one day, during a race I had an accident

After that nothing was ever the same again

Not only was I hurt, but lost my job forever

Never mind! Forget about racing

You can do other kind of jobs

I'm still performing anyway

I can afford the rent

And we can lead a modest life

That means I've to depend on you

This is our life together

Does it matter who has to depend on who?

Fangting, you are so good to me

Tell me your wish

I'll do my best to realize it

I wish that we could go to see the world

We'll go to Europe, go to the States

Go to a place that belongs only to us

Everybody knows that

Life is full of irony

One day, when we were playing tennis

She fainted

Fangting

What?

She has cancer

My guess is she has only half a year to live

She still hopes to travel around the world with me

You only have half a year to realize this dream

For the sake of Fangting

I've only one wish

That's why I needed the money

I was thinking, after she died

I'll go to surrender myself

It's like buying a few months of happiness for Fangting

With the rest of my life

This is indeed very costly

What I didn't know is

Sometimes your life isn't your own to control

By the way, you are a big movie star

What makes you go to rob?

That was very long time ago

You needed money to buy happiness

I need money to buy a dream

To buy a dream?

Yes

To buy a dream of the past

Camera

Come on

Hurry up

CUT, it's okay

Okay...

Tidy up here

Brother Long, this kick of yours

Worths five million

Brother Long, where's our next shot?

The interior

The interior...

Brother Long, let's take a picture!

Smile

Everybody, a piece of good news

I've a piece of good news for everyone

What good news?

Ladies and gentlemen, I've checked the box office

Our film "The kick" by our Ma Rulong

Has broken the box office record of all films

Until 9:30p.m tonight

The film has earned seven million

Rulong, come take a look

You pick and bring home a few scripts over there

Take these to my study room

Yes

Rulong, do you need money for now?

What about the money from last film? Did they send...

Not yet, you know how the distributors are

They said wait till the Europe rights are sold

Before they paid us all at once

What about the money for the house...

I'll take care of that. To avoid paying tax

The company will act as the buyer of the house

Later on we'll change the contract under your name

How's that? This can save us a lot of money

Really?

Rulong, if you need money, just let me know

We're like brothers

A million or so is no problem

You can get it from me anytime you want

Ready?

Yes... yes...

Okay

Okay, standby...camera

Fanny

Boss

All the furniture here is paid by installments?

Of course, otherwise how can I pay for your furniture?

Didn't you say that the film has made a lot of money

...And I can get four million?

I've already counted that in

True, the film has earned seven million

But we also have a huge expenditure on publicity

After budgeting, you still owe me fifty thousand

You know that?

This is the list of receipts from the accountant

Go take a look

I'm telling you, this house is sold

Stay for one more night and move out tomorrow

Fanny, let's go

When you've lost your fortune

You lost also your friend

I can only find my memories

In that house

So I need the money no matter what

I need to redeem that house

So do I aspire to buy back my past dream

Don't go

Stay there

Get him

Hurry up

Ma Rulong

Don't come near

There's no turnaround here

Quickly...

Ma Rulong, you're surrounded

You have no where to turn to

No where to turn to....

As it is, I was at the end of the rope long ago

Open the door quickly

The President of Warner Bros. of the United States

...is here in his Rolls Royce to invite me for filming

Check it out

There are so many reporters here to take my picture

Quickly bring me my tuxedo

Hurry up

Wait, after I broke my leg

I don't even have friends

Who will invite me to filming?

Do you know?

What a cruel life it is for a star being forgotten

Ma Rulong

Fu Ziltong is here

I'm shooting a movie now

Are you ready?

The entire set has been prepared

I'm ready to jump

Ma Rulong

Quiet, filming is in progress

Standby

Camera

Hello? Inspector?

Huang Philip is back

He is going in the house, what should we do now?

Okay, got it

Keep watching him, we'll be there soon

Why have you come back?

There's a lot of police out there

I know

I just had to come back, to see you

Just now

Ma Rulong died from jumping off the roof

What about the others?

I'm afraid we are all in the same boat

We have no where to turn to

Everyone needs a goal for living

Whether or not it's a good life that we are having

We need a reason to go on

Say for Jiuzai, he did it for money

Li Guochao did it for his brother

Ma Rulong did it for his dream

And I did it for you

If we were to lose that goal in life

Then there's no difference between life and death

Fangting

I guess we will never have the chance

To travel around the world together

That's not true, not true at all

I've never agreed to your plan

Please surrender yourself!

I'll wait for you, even if it's ten years

Twenty or thirty years, I'll wait for you

We still have the chance to travel around the world

Thirty years are too long

Not really, as long as we are still living

Even when we are in our seventies or eighties

We can still go

Fangting, sometimes God is unfair

Do not trust him that much

How is it going?

He's still in the house

We've the front and back of the house all covered

Farewell

Philip

Philip

Philip, you can't go

You've promised to travel around the world with me

Fangting

There's no time left

The doctor said your cancer...

Has only left you six months to live

I got involved in the robbery just for...

Getting us some budget to travel together

But you know, 'Man proposes, God disposes'

We'll see each other again in a few months time

Hold on

Fangting

Why should we separate for a few months?

After him

This is close to the border

Let's find a place to hide

I can leave after dark

Jenny

When you go back

You have to take care of yourself

Where can I go back to?

Where will I be tonight?

And what will happen to me tomorrow morning?

Nothing is certain for me

But you don't have to suffer with me

Last night you said you love me

And you did love me

Yes, I do love you

But I'm afraid time isn't on our side anymore

I don't care, as long as I'm with you

Even if there's only 24 hours left, that's enough

Missus, Missus

Stop it, Niu

Niu, stop it

Niu, stop it

Stop it

Niu

Don't move

Stop it

Who are you? What do you want?

We want nothing

Don't move if you're smart

We just need a place to hide for a while

We'll leave after dark

I knew it from the radio

You are the bank robbers

Don't move

Mister, don't be afraid, we're not ruthless people

We'll surely leave at dusk

Guocheng

Guochao, I think he's getting worse

Let's take him to the hospital!

How is it?

I...I'm afraid I can't stand any longer

Guocheng

Brother, for the last twenty years

I've affected you so much

I forbid you to say that

But I believe this will be the last time

Brother, after I'm gone

Go surrender yourself without delay

Because you don't have a chance to get away

I will

Sister-in-law

Guocheng

Brother...is a good man

You two can actually live a good life

It's me who has ruined everything

I did a lot of bad things

But...I owe this world nothing

The world owes me...first

If I did owe someone

It's only you and sister-in-law

But I have no chance to repay your kindness

Guocheng, what are you doing?

Brother, sister-in-law, stand still

-Guocheng -Guocheng

Guocheng

Whatever I still owe you

I'll repay you in the next life

-Guocheng -Guocheng

My brother is dead

Zifen, you have to take care of yourself

Are you alright?

Jenny, we can go

Looks like she is in pain!

Miss, please go!

I beg you, please!

Release me! Just go!

No way. If he calls the police, we're done!

She's bleeding

Damn it, release me!

Ying is bleeding

Ying, how are you holding up?

It hurts...so much

Call the ambulance, quick!

You have a car, please go out and make a phone call

Hurry up, please

Please, I beg you, please

It's a matter of life and death ! Please

Let me go

Can I use your phone?

It's in there

It's a yellow racing car, license plate number AJ2634

Hello, Doctor Zhou

Sujian's wife is about to have a delivery

Please come at once!

You should've called earlier. Well, I'll be right there

Thank you

You're welcome

The doctor is coming

How is she ?

She...is in great pain

Mister, if you need to go

Then go quickly!

Otherwise if the doctor is here, then...

Ying

But you need help here

When the doctor comes

He can take care of her. Thanks for your help

Please go now!

Then...farewell

Mister...what is your name

I'm Jiuzai. Anything I can help with?

Thanks. If this is a boy...

I'll prefer to name him after you

So that he will remember you

So long then

Chen Jiuzai, listen to me

You're now surrounded by two hundred police

Come and surrender yourself

Don't even think of resisting

Sujian, your wife's doctor is here

But you're charged with aiding...

And abetting the suspect

If you want the doctor to go in

Then ask your friend to come out!

Jiuzai...don't go out

You'll face many years of jail

Any back door in here

No

Chen Jiuzai, you don't have a chance

You have ten minutes to come out

Otherwise we'll take action

Ying, how are you holding up?

I can't stand it any longer

Take off my pants quickly

Ying

Jiuzai, where are you going?

I'm going to call the doctor

You can't go out, I don't need the doctor anymore

I...I can handle it on my own

Just give me a hand

It's coming out, it's coming out

Chen Jiuzai

Listen

Your friend Li Guochao is here

He has a few words to tell you

Jiuzai, come out!

Guocheng, Huang Philip and Ma Rulong

They are all dead

You're now heavily surrounded by the police

There's no chance you can get away

Jiuzai, come out

Surrender yourself!

You're really going?

Jiuzai, you can't go!

You can't go, never

Brother Niu, if I don't go...

Your wife and the baby have no chance of survival

But if you surrender, I've wronged you too much

No way

Listen, I'm coming out

Let the doctor come in

Good, I'll send the doctor over

Raise up your hands and come to us slowly

Jiuzai

This morning you said...

To have twenty four hours with me

Is already good enough

I think it is about time now

When will you come back?

I don't know, maybe twenty, thirty years later

Jiuzai

Jiuzai, get into the car

Jiuzai

Jiuzai

Jiuzai....

You've killed wrongly...

They are good people....

Guochao...Guochao

Guochao, come here

How come you're here?

I came to know from the news

Why have you come?

I know who has betrayed you guys

That night Maiguang pushed me down the hill

It so happened that I fell onto a tree, so I didn't die

I tried so hard before I can climb back up

I got a taxi

And went to the place where they had arranged to meet

Surprisingly, when I got there

I heard a gun shot

Maiguang was killed

The killer is the son of the inspector

What? It's him

You don't have a younger brother?

No!

Inspector

It's him

He has pretended to be Miss Chen's brother

You...what did you say?

Where's the money?

Money?

What money?

I'll kill you, bastard

Bastard

Granny...

My boy...

Mom, everything's okay

Don't say a word

Mom, go back to your room! Everything's fine

Go in!

Nothing's the matter

Why it's so noisy?

Don't you dare keep anything from me, okay

Mom, just carry on with your prayers!

I'm telling you!

Don't let them beat up my grandson

He's my darling boy, you know that?

I know, don't worry!

What do you want? You...

Dad, give me the gun

I'll kill all four of them

Then no one in the world will know that I've robbed

We have five million

Dad, give me the gun

Give me the gun, give me

My dear

What do you intend to do?

You can't kill him !

He's our only male descendant for 3 generations

If you would kill him, kill me first

Dad, dad, you can't kill me

Cannot kill me

I'm the only male descendant for 3 generations

You can't kill me, dad

I'm not the only bad guy

The world is full of evil scoundrels

What's more, I did it all for you

Think about it ! How many friends of yours

Got themselves a big amount to enjoy life in the West

Only you, you've worked all your life

Without getting even a penny of easy money

Have you thought about what to do when you get old?

What are you going to live upon?

Dad, dad

Turn around, just turn around

Kill them all

In this world

No one again would know what I've done

After a year or two, I'll take grandma to the West

We can live like the others

We can enjoy ourselves for the rest of our lives

Dad, see how smart I am. I'm a genius

They are all stupid jerks

They are all manipulated by me

Played by a genius like me

They will become what I want them to become

Dad

They don't even know that...

We've earned five million, five million dollars!

Dad...

Dad...!
