I've been doing absolutely awesome today.

Check this out. We got a really cool call today.

For an awesome job. Look.

We're working on an ambulance today. Isn't this great?

Oh, look.

It's even got blue and orange.

Two of my favorite colors.

That's great.

So, we had to come and work on its engine today.

We had to change its air filter.

The last few things we got to tighten up here.

Oh, yep.

Nice and snug there. Let's see.

Almost.

There it is.

Perfect.

Got our tools.

Working with our screwdriver today. And look at this.

We've got some wrenches too.

That's great.

We've got one last thing we've got to check.

And that's the oil.

Better reach down here and get this.

This is the dipstick.

Oh, wow.

Wow.

That's a long dipstick.

Let's look.

Oh, yes. I think it's great. Okay.

Let's put it back inside.

There we go.

Got to line it up perfectly.

Right. There we go.

Awesome.

Let's see if we can get this thing back in there.

Get in there nice and snug.

We don't want no oil to leak out.

Ambulances are really important.

They go all over the place. Like for a different emergency, they go to homes,

they go to schools.

They can go anywhere.

Yep. Of course, there is an emergency.

Of course, they got to get there really, really quick. They got their light,

their sirens.

Yep.

And they get us to the hospital really, really, really quick if we have to go to

the hospital.

Seems to be working good.

Oh, come on. Hop in. Let me show you how this thing works.

It's really, really cool.

Oh, yep.

Let me take off my seatbelt here.

I'm in the driver's seat.

It's a really cool driver, one of these things.

Look at this.

We've got some really cool controls here.

We've got these two controls right here that actually operate the lights. Have

you ever seen an ambulance go down the road with this flashing light?

That's cool. And then we've got this one right here.

Operates the air horn. Listen to this.

Wow. Isn't that awesome?

Oh, and then we've got this really cool button right here. This operates the

siren. Here we go.

Oh, wow.

That's awesome. It's really loud.

Then check this out.

This is a really cool iPad.

Look, you can see the ambulance on the screen.

They actually use this.

to communicate with the dispatch office.

Gives them all the information about the emergency and where it's located.

And it gives them a GPS signal like a map. It's really, really cool.

And then, of course, another way to communicate with dispatch is radios.

They've got two radios. They've got one and two. Let's see.

Dispatch, we have one of my friends that fell off his bike.

He's got a broken leg.

Send help.

That's great.

Put that back. Oh, it's really, really cool.

Really cool.

So what's in the back?

It's in the box. Come on. Let's go check it out. It's going to be great. Oh,

yeah.

This is the box.

It's on the back side of the ambulance.

It's got some really cool stuff.

It's got compartments all around it.

Let's look inside.

Oh, look.

This one's got oxygen.

And, oh, look. It's got...

Some stretchers.

Oh.

And even a stretcher for a child. That's really cool.

What's in that compartment?

Let's look in this one.

Let's see what's in here.

Oh, yes.

Look. We've got tools, toolbox.

Oh, and jumper cables.

Because we always need jumper cables for emergencies.

And we've even got flashlights.

This is really cool.

Yep. Those.

Come on.

This is the backside of the ambulance.

We've got two big doors to make it easier to get in and out of.

Come on, let's go inside.

This is going to be great.

Oh, wow.

There's someone back here.

Look, this is Rescue Randy.

Rescue Randy is the mannequin that they use to help train paramedics. It's

really cool.

Hey, Randy, how are you, sir?

Look, that's a really cool safety bar.

Of course, to help us if we have to walk around.

So whenever the ambulance is moving, we can hold on to it and be safe.

Look, this is the captain's chair.

This is awesome. He's got some really cool controls over here. Of course,

got the radio.

And this radio actually helps you communicate to the hospital.

That's right.

So we can call the hospital to let them know exactly what's going on with our

patient. Yep.

Let them know what an emergency is. Cool.

Oh, and look. We've got some other controls here that actually operate the

and the lights.

Of course, we want to make sure our patient is comfortable.

Oh, that's great.

Let's see. Oh, and look at some of these cool things that they get to use. We've

got this right here. Look.

This is a heart monitor.

And what this does, it actually monitors your heart, like your heart rate. Like

if it's beating really, really fast, or if it's beating really, really slow.

It actually tells the paramedic exactly what's going on with your heart. It's

really cool.

Oh, and look at these. These are cool.

This is a resuscitation bag.

This is really cool.

And what it does is it connects to the oxygen that's right there.

Yep. And it actually pumps it.

fresh oxygen into your lungs or helps to pump fresh oxygen into your lungs

that's really cool and then we got another one here this is an oxygen mask

and it hooks up to the oxygen oh maybe we should use rescue randy all right

we go check this out so we take the mask and we put it over the face just like

that and we just hook it up to the oxygen to help them breathe oh that's

thanks rescue randy it's really really really cool And all back here, they've

got all these really, really cool compartments.

Oh, look over here. We've got some over here, too. Look.

Got maybe some Band -Aids in there and some medicine.

Yep. We've got some there, too.

Let's see.

Oh, look.

We even got a thermometer.

Look at this.

Have your parents ever taken your temperature before?

Let's take rescue, Mandy.

All right. Let's see.

Wow, 132 degrees.

We might have to take him to the hospital.

That's awesome.

Put that back in there.

Oh, look.

These are really cool.

Do you know what this is right here?

This is a stethoscope.

Let's see.

Okay. Oh, hello.

Oh, let's use it.

Oh, yep.

His brain's working fine.

I'm kidding.

It's not for your brain. It's for your heart. Let's see.

Oh, yep.

His heart's working, too. I can hear it. Oh, can you hear it?

Oh, let me check your heart.

Oh, yep, your heart works, too.

That's great.

Those are amazing.

Oh, and look.

They've even got passenger seats so people can ride along.

And then they've got these really cool bags, right?

And inside these bags.

Or things like stethoscopes and bandages and all kinds of cool stuff just in

case they need to go into somebody's home.

They've got these bags with them.

They can take your time. It's really cool.

But the coolest thing about an ambulance is the stretcher. Let me show you how

this thing works. Come on.

This is going to be great. Of course, we've got to come out here to show you.

Let's lift up the step there.

Don't want to trip over that.

Check this out.

A really cool red button here. We're going to push it.

And look, we can pull the stretcher out.

All right, yep. Come on.

Come on, Randy.

All right, and then once we get out of here, I've got these really, really cool

red buttons right here. I've got a minus and a plus, and it actually lowers.

There we go.

Actually lowers the wheels like that right there.

Isn't that great?

That way we can pull them out just like that.

It's amazing.

Don't want him to go anywhere. I'm going to have to put down the brake.

There we go. So it doesn't go anywhere.

Check this out.

We've got some really cool bars, of course, to hold our patient in place.

we've got some straps, of course, so they don't fall off.

It's really, really important.

On the backside here, we've got some oxygen, right?

It's really, really cool. Really, really important.

Of course, if they have to take this inside someone's home, somewhere.

They've got oxygen with them.

Then, of course, we've seen this earlier.

Check it out. We can lift them up.

And we can lower them back down.

Cool. And look.

We can do it to the feet, too. Watch.

Look.

We can lift up their feet.

Looks pretty relaxed to me.

All right. Then lower it down.

Sweet. And, of course, put them right back in.

So we've got to line it up perfectly.

We've got to take off our brake.
