Reinhard came back from South America
a sick man.

Montezuma's revenge,
the doctor called the bug...

that infested his intestines.

He'd been back in Munich for 11 hours.

For a year, he'd looked at the world
with a fiImmaker's eyes.’

Brazil, Peru, El Salvador, Mexico...

countries that grew the cotton
he'd been sent to document.

With Rob's help, he'd captured on film...

everything the German chemical company
wanted.’

history, economy, technology,
climate, culture.

An understandable world.

Reinhard knew how much
his film left unsaid.

If only he could see his friends again.

For weeks he'd tell them
of the mysteries he'd seen.

He was laden with the immensity
of the world...

and had no one to share his burden.
