The population aged, and when

It was so exciting.

He was gonna make a difference,

and give everybody
hope and reason to stay

in what I once thought
was the best place

in the world to grow up.

And he won!

It felt like a victory
for our whole family.

Everything that was
wrong in Echo Harbor

would get fixed,
thanks to my dad.

And life would be
even better now.

But the job of being Mayor,

trying to make everyone
happy consumed my dad.

Totally stressed him out,

which then stressed my mom out,

and then even me.

We became like so many
families today, broken.

It really made me sad.

Even sadder than
when my grandma died.

He told me it
wouldn't be forever,

he just had to figure
some things out.

So, dad moved in with grandpa,

which looking back, was probably
a nice thing for grandpa,

because of grandma.

But I was suffering.

Our family was suffering.

And I knew that something
needed to be done.

missing Sundays with all of you,

my favorite thing in the world,

because I'm off lecturing
and talking and preaching.

I gotta tell you, it felt good.

for everything it's worth.

I think so often, all of us,

we get lost in our
jobs and our work,

that we forget that life

to service our life

So, Evy collapsed in our
house just across the way,

for one of her wonderful meals.

She collapsed, and
I wasn't there.

I wasn't there to help her.

It was hours before
she was even found.

I've never been able to
forgive myself for that.

So, starting today,

in this very moment,
complete honesty.

And perhaps working
together with God's grace,

our sleepy hollow,

our great history
becomes our tomorrow,

Perhaps forgiveness should be

thought of every day.
