Welcome to this video where I will talk about how you receive the Holy Spirit.

And this is very important.

It's going to be a little longer video where I will share many examples of people

how they received the Holy Spirit.

And I believe this video will help you, who are longing to receive the Holy Spirit.

A few days ago I did a video called

"Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed",

where I talked about out from the Bible that is possible to repent and believe

and be baptized without receiving the Holy Spirit.

And many have seen that video. If you have not seen it, you can see it

on a link, together with the description of this video.

I've got a lot of feedback. Many, many have written to me like:

Hey, I want the Holy Spirit. How do I receive the Holy Spirit?

Please help me to receive the Holy Spirit.

I hope this video will help you.

There was also a lot of people who responded and said, like:

No, no, no. You are wrong, Torben, because tongues is not for everyone.

And then they are quoting Scripture, like, 1 Corinthians 12:30

"Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? ..."

And this verse I'm going to explain later in another video,

because, the answer is: it's not everyone who have the gift of healing

and it's not everyone who speak in tongues, as we read here.

But you have to understand that you don't need the gift of healing to heal the sick.

I'm going to talk about that in another video because our Lord Jesus Himself is saying

that the one who believes and is baptized shall be saved

and these signs follow those who believe.

In my name they shall lay their hands on the sick and they shall get healed.

You also don't need the gift of tongues to speak in tongues. Why?

Because there are different kinds of tongues.

Instead, believe what our Lord Jesus is saying in Mark 16:17,

where He said that one who believes and is baptized shall be saved

and these signs follow those who believe.

In my name they shall speak in new tongues.

So you have to understand this verse correctly.

No, it's not everyone who has the gift of healing,

but everyone can heal the sick.

It's not everyone who has the gift of tongues.

Talking about the tongues with an interpretation,

talking about the tongues we see in Acts 2,

but that does not mean that the personal tongues is not for everyone.

Because if you go into Acts and look at the Book of Acts,

what do we see? We see that it was always everyone who got filled.

Always. Always.

Acts 2, 120 people was gathered and the Spirit came on each of them.

Acts 8, Philip came to Samaria. They repented, they got baptized,

they did not yet receive the Holy Spirit. First, when the apostles came

and laid hand on them they received.

Who received? Everyone they prayed for received.

Acts 10. Peter was in house of Cornelius and everyone who heard the Word

got filled with the Holy Spirit. Everyone.

Acts 19. Paul came to Ephesus and everyone he laid hands on

received the Spirit and spoke in tongues. Everyone.

That is 12 men, and he prayed for 12 and all received.

So don't listen to those people out there who are very fast to take a verse and say:

"No, no, no. This verse is saying something here."

When the rest of the Bible is saying something else.

So, in the next video I will address this verse alone and other verses

where we talked about: Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed or not?

Because I want to go deeper into that in the next video.

But for you out there now, who are not like...

First, be careful who you listen to.

You know, the Pharisees, the scribes at the time of Jesus,

they were blind leading the blind, and if a blind leads a blind

they will both fall into a pit.

And we also see in the Bible that Jesus said to those people,

that you hinder people from entering the Kingdom of God

and you do not enter yourselves.

The same is today. There is people today...

who are preaching the Word, but they are like the Pharisees at the time of Jesus.

What do you see with the Pharisees? They have a lot of words,

but they deny the power.

Before you listen to people, look at their life,

if they live the life themselves. Do they have testimonies?

Do they have testimonies in their life?

Do they have fruit in their life? Does God work in them?

So really be careful who you listen to.

And that is why I said in the last video:

Take the Book of Acts and read it for yourself.

Don't only believe in my words.

Read the Book of Acts for yourself and see what happened there.

And there what happened is that people every time, for everyone got filled

with the Holy Spirit.

They start to speak in tongues, they start to prophesy.

They start to speak in tongues and worship God.

They start to speak in tongues and experience a new life,

as you saw in one of the videos last time,

and I have many, many more videos like that.

Anybody here who love Jesus, who have not received the Holy Spirit,

who do not speak in tongues?

- Have you got baptized in water? - Yes.

The Bible says if we repent...

turn away from our sins...

get baptized in water...

God will give the Holy Spirit.

And this is the promise of God...

that He will give the Holy Spirit to everyone who asks Him.

So let's pray that God will give you the Spirit.

Close your eyes. We will pray together now. You just pray after me.

God, I come to You.

I repent.

I take my sin...

I lay it over to You.

And I ask You...

Come Jesus...

Come with Your Holy Spirit...

set me free...

right now.

(tongues)

Holy Spirit we thank You for Your life. We thank You for Your freedom.

God, we thank You for what You are doing. (tongues) Yeah!

How is it?

Amazing!

Jesus is alive! Jesus esta vivo!

This is what? This is what we read in the Bible.

Repent, get baptized. He wants to give the Holy Spirit.

The words just came out...

and I couldn't control. It was good. It was good to speak in tongues.

Hallelujah! This is what God is doing. She got baptized when she was 12,

but she haven't receive the Holy Spirit and now the Holy Spirit just came

in front of everybody and she speaks in tongues. Love it.

And I have many more videos like this.

And you can see the joy, the excitement when they start to speak in tongues.

But it's different from person to person. The importance is that you out there,

that you receive the Holy Spirit.

Never build theology on our experience.

I've said that so many times. Never build theology on experience,

because experience can change over night.

God's Word is forever the same.

When we talk about praying for people to receive the Holy Spirit,

where they speak in tongues, and you see they are full.

When do you know somebody is full? When the cup is running over.

When it's coming out of your mouth. (tongues)

Personal tongues, when it's coming out of you, and it's often

together with joy and excitement and worshiping God,

and even prophesying.

When I started to pray for people years ago, for the baptism of the Holy Spirit,

it was 1 out of 20 who received the Holy Spirit and started to speak in tongues.

1 out of 20. I did not know why that person did, and the 19 didn't.

But then I grew in it and I grew in my relationship with God,

and I grew in experience how to do it, and it became 5 out of 20,

it became 8 out of 20. It became 10 out of 20.

But I experienced sometimes a... It was like, I prayed and prayed and prayed

and they did not receive the Holy Spirit. I was in Boston some years ago

where God really opened my eyes even more.

Because in Boston I was doing a meeting and a woman came up to me and said:

Please pray for me. I want the Holy Spirit. I've been praying and seeking

Holy Spirit for three years. Please help me. Pray for me! Pray for me!

And I prayed for her and nothing happened. And I prayed again and nothing happened.

And I prayed the third time and nothing happened.

But I did not give up. I prayed the fourth time, but nothing happened still.

No, something actually happened the fourth time I prayed.

She started to cry. And she said: What is wrong with me?

Why can I not receive the Holy Spirit? So many people have prayed for me.

What is wrong with me?

And when that woman said that I stood there and looked at her.

And then I looked up at God. And I looked at her.

And I thought: God, what is happening here?

She really, really, really, really wants the Holy Spirit.

But You really, really, really, really want to give the Holy Spirit.

How much does God want to give the Holy Spirit?

So much that He sent His Son Jesus to die for us.

God, You really, really want to give her the Holy Spirit

and she really, really wants the Holy Spirit. What is wrong?

What is wrong here?

And then I said: God, I don't understand it because You have promised.

And then it hit me.

What has God promised?

God said, when Peter stood up on Pentecost, he said: Repent...

and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ

for the forgiveness of your sins and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

And then he said: This promise is for you, your children and everyone who's far off.

You and me. Everyone.

The promise of the Holy Spirit is for them, and their children and everyone,

including you and me.

But what was it Peter said there? What was God's promise?

He said: When you repent and you get baptized in the name of Jesus,

for the forgiveness of your sins, you shall receive the Holy Spirit.

This promise, the promise that when you repent, get baptized -

you shall receive.

And I looked at that woman and I said: Are you baptized in water?

She said: Yes. When?

Oh, in a Catholic church, when I was a baby.

When did you repent? Oh, when I was around 30 years old.

That was not what God said.

God did not say: Hey, get sprinkling of water on your head

and then later repent,

and you shall receive the Holy Spirit.

I cannot say: God, You have promised...

if we don't do what God said He has promised.

He did not promise: Hey, when you believe you receive the Holy Spirit.

Or, when you repent you receive the Holy Spirit.

Or, if you get baptized as a baby and later repent

you will receive the Holy Spirit.

No, He has promised that when we repent, turn away from our sins,

and then, afterwards get baptized, we shall receive the Holy Spirit.

So I looked at that woman who was Catholic and said:

This is what God promised. If you repent and then, after repentance

get baptized - you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

So, she looked at me and said: So, I need to get baptized again?

Not again. But yes, you need to get baptized, because the first thing

was not baptism. It was just sprinkling of water on your head.

It was not a real baptism. Babies cannot get baptized.

Because you have not repented. You are not seeing your sin.

And it was not with full immersion.

So, she understood it. We went out in water.

We baptized her. As soon as she came out of water I laid hands on her and ...

The Holy Spirit came and she spoke in tongues. And it was so beautiful.

And I learned something that day.

I learned I cannot take God's promise and say: God, You have promised,

if we are not willing to do what He said we should do to receive that promise.

And I learned something.

Later I went to another place. I had a meeting.

A week later I stood in the same case, another place but in the same example.

A girl came to me and said: I would like the Holy Spirit.

I prayed - nothing happened. I prayed - nothing happened.

And again she said: What is wrong with me?

I've been here, in this church, for a few years,

why I cannot receive the Holy Spirit?

But now I have learned. So I said: Have you repented?

Yeah, yeah, I have. Have you got baptized?

Yes, yes. I said: But you know, babies cannot get baptized.

Because I thought that she got baptized as a baby

in the Lutheran church, but she said: No, I didn't get baptized.

I got baptized when I was 14, with full immersion.

A I said: Tell me again, when did you repent?

Oh, when I was 30. But that was not what God said.

You cannot bury the old life if you have not crucified the old life.

You cannot bury the old life if you have not repented.

So I said to her: That baptism was not a baptism. That was just a pool party.

If you got baptized as a 14 year old and lived in sin before, under and after,

and it's first when you are 30 you really repent, come to a deep repentance

and get a new heart, that baptism you did many years ago was not a real baptism.

So she said: I need to get baptized again? I said: Yeah, you need to get baptized.

So we filled up the bathtub. It was in a home. And we baptized her.

As soon as she came out of water we prayed for her and the Holy Spirit

just came and she spoke in tongues...

Exactly as God has promised.

When I understood this, what God has promised,

it went from 10 out of 20 who received the Holy Spirit to 17, 18 out of 20.

And it's so beautiful. This is what God promised.

Why do some people then receive the Holy Spirit before,

and some people really receive the Holy Spirit before

they get baptized in water. I don't know. I don't know.

But I know what God has promised.

If we repent and get baptized He has promised the Holy Spirit.

Yes, sometimes He gives the Holy Spirit before, but in most cases

that is what we should do, like the Bible says.

So, I grew in it, and I understood the gospel.

And I saw so, so many more people receive the Holy Spirit.

And now it's 17, 18 out of 20 who receive the Holy Spirit.

Why? Because when we sit down with them and go through the gospel

some people said: I have never really repented.

And then, when they truly repent and get baptized - the Holy Spirit comes.

Or, some people have repented, the baptism was before,

so when they get baptized again, the Holy Spirit is coming. Why?

Because this is what God has promised to us.

But it was still 17, 18 out of 20. There was still a few more people.

And there I saw how religion is so dangerous.

To be honest, it's so much easier to lead a non-church person to Christ

and baptized them in water and Holy Spirit. It's so easy.

I've seen... I've been allowed to be a part of few thousands baptisms

and seen many hundreds people receive the Holy Spirit.

And it's beautiful. I love it. I love baptize people in water and Holy Spirit.

It's so much easier. It's just so much easier.

Like, if you have a non-church believer, who is not very religious,

you share the gospel, you say: are you ready to repent? Yes.

Are you ready to be baptized to Christ? Yes. Okay, I baptize you to Christ.

I lay hands on you and you will just speak in tongues

when the Holy Spirit comes over you. Yes sir.

And doo... up... and... (tongues) And they just speak in tongues.

Why? Because they don't have the lies from the church.

They are not filled up with lies and ideas.

And this is a big problem today.

Paul did not deal with that the same way.

He did not deal with second generation Christian,

or people who grew up in a Catholic church or Baptist church, being told things.

I have an example. I was in Canada, having a meeting some years ago.

A woman came to me. She wanted the Holy Spirit and I prayed for her.

And I felt the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit just came,

and I felt... came into her. And I could see it.

I could see it in her breathing. I could see the Holy Spirit came into her.

And I was very excited and I said: Open your mouth and speak in tongues.

Because she didn't want to open her mouth.

Sometimes it's just like... (tongues) and they just start by themselves.

And it's beautiful. I've seen that many times where it just come in

and blow out by itself, like this. I think maybe I have a video with that,

where you can see that here.

I want the Holy Spirit so badly.

I will pray for you. Close your eyes. You pray with me.

Just say: Jesus... Jesus... I come to You... I come to You...

I need You... I need You... I take my family... I take my family...

I lay them over to You... I give them over to You.

And I ask You... And I ask You... Set me free... Set me free...

Save me... Save me...

Come with Your Holy Spirit... Come with Your Holy Spirit...

Fill me up... Fill me up... Right now... Right now...

(tongues) Speak! (they both speak in tongues)

Holy Spirit come.

God, we thank You for this family. Thank You for everything You're doing, God.

I thank You for a new beginning, a new beginning, a new beginning,

in the name of Jesus. We thank You for freedom and healing, God.

A new beginning, God, in the name of Jesus.

Thank you so much.

Meet me down there afterwards. I will come and talk to you.

Thank you so much! It's amazing.

Hallelujah! It's amazing what God is doing. Just follow.

He was coming out of my stomach. That's amazing.

Out of your belly shall flow rivers of living water. That's where it came from.

And we love it like this. This was a man from Florida.

It was just like... (tongues) It just exploded.

But many people don't experience like that, especially sometimes not church people.

Because they need help. There is fear in them you need to break first.

And that's why sometimes when I baptize people with the Holy Spirit I say:

Open your mouth. Speak. Let it out. Let it out. Let the first word out.

Because some people are so afraid to open their mouth.

They stand like this.

And one example was a woman in Canada.

I prayed for her and the Holy Spirit came

and she just stood with her mouth closed like this.

I said: Hey, the Spirit is there. I see it. I feel it.

But I want to make sure. Can you open your mouth and speak in tongues?

Let it out. I want to know what is inside of you.

And I said: Okay, let's pray again. Now!

And she stood still like this.

I said: Why don't you open your mouth?

And then it came. She said: Many years ago my mom said that tongues is demonic.

And when she said that I knew: This is the problem for her.

And I've seen that. I've seen that in church before many times.

Maybe they don't say it's demonic, but say something else.

Be careful, you're getting the wrong spirit, and a lot of things.

You need to receive it in faith. You need to open up in faith.

And Jesus is actually saying this in Luke:

"So, I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find;

knock, and the door will be opened to you."

And then Jesus continue.

“Now suppose one of you fathers is asked by his son for a fish; he will not give him a snake instead of a fish, will he?

Or if he is asked for an egg, he will not give him a scorpion, will he?

If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children,

how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?”

Jesus said: You, people on earth, if our son come and ask for a fish,

we won't give him a snake.

Or if he asks for an egg we give him a scorpion.

No. We will not do that.

And the same way is with our Father who is in Heaven.

If we ask Him for the Holy Spirit He will not give us a wrong spirit.

But there is so many lies in the church today.

"Oh, tongues are demonic. It's not for everyone.

Be careful you don't get a wrong spirit."

Non-Christians don't have those lies,

so when they come in and we pray for them...

Holy Spirit comes like this and they speak in tongues and prophesy,

and live this life. But when we talk about church people, it's very different.

There is a lot of lies. There is a lot of wrong teachings.

We put the Word of God out of power because of our tradition and fear.

And that girl in Canada had a lot of fear.

She said that her mom one time told her that it's demonic - tongues.

So I explained the Scripture here and explained to her:

God will not give you a wrong spirit.

You asked for the Holy Spirit and He will give you the Holy Spirit.

But I want to make sure that you have the Holy Spirit now.

I'm not sure before you open your mouth. I will see what comes out of you.

That you have tongues.

So I said: Let's pray again. And we prayed again. I said: Speak now.

She didn't speak. She had fear. She had a stronghold in her mind, of fear.

So what did I do this time? I said: Okay, listen here.

When I say "now" you are going to shout in tongues,

as loud as possible, and I don't care if it's tongues or something else.

I just want something to come out of your mouth. Understand?

She said: Yes, yes, yes. I said: Now!

And I was shouting in tongues...

And I said "now" to her and she was doing like this... and it was not tongues.

But do you know what happened? After... we broke that fear

and she felt down, she got delivered and she spoke in tongues. Hallelujah!

And she got completely free there.

I've seen that again and again. I've seen again and again that

some people need help, because of the religious mindset.

You need to break it.

And that is some of those who don't get it right away,

but when we spend a little time with them they will receive.

Another example, where people need to understand that it's different

from person from person how they receive it.

Some people is like... And it just comes out.

But other people is more quiet, like me, when I started to speak in tongues.

They prayed for me: open your mouth and speak. I opened my mouth and spoke.

I didn't feel any kaboom. I didn't feel like the guy you saw in the video before,

or in some of those videos you have seen. I've never felt it myself.

I've never felt like... and it just explodes.

No. I just if faith started to speak and it just came.

Simple. How do you know it's tongues?

From your own innermost being will run out like living water.

It's not like you're thinking every word...

It's not like this. You open up and it's running out. It's coming out.

But when I speak in tongues today, I start with "shila".

I don't know where it comes from. And I say "shila". I don't know

if that is myself or Spirit, but when I start "shila bado..."

It's just running out of me like living water.

And it's building me up. (tongues)

And I can just continue and continue and continue. Why?

Because it's not my head. It's my spirit that's coming out from.

There are people who are thinkers and people who are doers.

There are people who are like engineers, who need to understand everything

with their head before they do it, and there's people who are more practical

and doers. I'm more a doer. I'm more practical.

And that is a benefit for me, when we talk about speaking in tongues,

healing the sick, casting out demons and do those things.

But there are other things I need to have good roots in,

but when we talk about being thinkers, you are good in the Scripture,

and you go deep in roots, but you are not so good when it comes to

have a child-like faith and be like a child and receive like a child,

without needing to understand everything.

So, when we talk about receiving the gift of tongues...

the gift of the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues,

your head is not helping you there.

And sometimes you just need to shut it off and receive in faith, like a child.

My wife was around 10, 11 years old.

Her parents got filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues, and she saw that.

And she was like: I want that also.

So my wife went in, closed the door, prayed to her Father who's in Heaven

and there she received the Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues,

and came out of that room completely changed.

Her parents could see a deep, deep change in her.

No one laid hands on her. She just prayed alone and received in faith

and spoke in tongues. She had faith like a child.

Not faith like somebody who has been on a seminary,

not faith like a religious leader, or Pharisee, or scribe,

one of the teachers of Law at that time.

She had simple faith as a child. And we need that.

We need to come to our Father in Heaven and believe that He will give the Spirit

to those who ask Him.

So, you can go into a room and you can pray yourself, and believe

that you will receive, and you can receive the Holy Spirit, as my wife.

But most times in the Bible we see that it was by the laying of hands.

To have people with you, who can lay hands on you.

And I will pray for you out there, and pray for you

where you can lay hands on yourself and I will pray through this video

that God will come with His Holy Spirit and fill you up, give you the Spirit.

And you will start to speak in new tongues.

It was just a little teaching about it and I just want to say:

Keep it simple. Look at the Book of Acts.

Look how it happened there and understand that this is for everyone.

God wants to give it to you.

If you have repented, turned away from your sins

and you got baptized in water afterwards, with full immersion,

God's promise is that He will give you the Holy Spirit.

I will pray for you for Him now, but if you don't receive Him here,

I will say: Find somebody who has the Spirit already

and let them put their hands on you and pray for you to receive the Holy Spirit.

You can also go in and seek God yourself like my wife did,

and pray, and keep praying, seek, and keep seeking,

knock, and keep knocking, until you receive, and you will receive.

And it is for everyone.

And it's a life. I was in cafe yesterday. It was so powerful, it was so powerful.

Very short testimony and then I'll pray for you.

A week ago I was in a cafe. I was sitting with my Bible.

And I heard somebody talk about Jesus on another table and I turned around.

And suddenly there was a men's group there.

I went and talked with them a week ago, and we had a good talk.

And I shared Jesus and shared testimony. And then I left.

And one of the leaders contacted me a few days later. He got my card.

He said: Let's meet. Let's meet. I need to talk to you.

And we met two days ago and yesterday he invited me to his men's group

and I was there yesterday.

And God came, like "whoa". One of the guys had a problem with his shoulder,

he could not lift something up and he was, actually, on his way to the hospital,

a few days before because he needed an operation in the shoulder,

but he had a car accident on the way, so he never came to the hospital.

There I prayed for him and he got completely healed, he could lift it up,

and he was sitting and tears came down. He was just quiet.

And he just met God. We prayed for a woman who worked there.

Then I prayed for another man who got healed,

I kickstarted a man in the shopping mall, he prayed for somebody else,

and we had a moment, a moment where we took over that coffee shop.

And people got healed and was crying, and was touched by the Holy Spirit,

and I left that place with "Hallelujah".

Do you want to live this life, led by the Holy Spirit?

Do you want to live this life, healing the sick, casting out demons?

Then you need the Holy Spirit. You need the Holy Spirit.

And tongues is so much more than what people make it sounds like.

Paul said: I speak more in tongues than anyone else.

And the personal tongues is for you. The Holy Spirit is for you.

And keep it simple.

Be careful who are you listening to because those people out there

who are mocking it, before you listen to their mockery,

before you listen to their Scripture out of context,

look at their life. Those people: Hey, it's not for everyone!

But, have you ever prayed for somebody who received the Holy Spirit?

No. It's not for everyone.

Have you ever healed the sick, cast out a demon?

No. But it's not for everyone.

They don't live this life themselves,

being in love with Jesus, live the life, bear fruit, be a disciple of Jesus,

who go out, led by the Holy Spirit, healing the sick, casting out demons.

And tongues is a sign that you have been filled with the Holy Spirit.

This is what I see in the Bible, and that is an amazing gift.

There is so much more to say. Let's pray for you all out there.

So, I hope this video makes sense. Again, I don't know where you are.

I said, I came to 17, 18 out of 20 who receive the Holy Spirit.

If I have a month to work with people it's 20 out of 20.

We see everyone receives the Holy Spirit. Why? Because it is for everyone.

One of the guys who came on our last school, he was struggling with it.

He was not free. He was one of those, the last 19 out of 20, who has difficulties.

I prayed for him a few times. But we kept discipling him,

kept teaching the Word, and then he came a week later:

Torben, I speak in tongues! I'm so excited!

He was out walking and suddenly it exploded out of him.

It is for everyone.

And that's why we are seeing 20 out of 20 who receive it. Why?

Because it is for everyone. This is the promise of God.

Let me pray for you out there.

You who have already repented, you who have baptized in water,

if not - contact us through TLRmap.com or through our website,

and we can put you in contact with somebody who can lead you

through repentance, who can baptize you in water and lay hands on you

to receive the Holy Spirit. But if you have already repented,

got baptized and really want the Holy Spirit, let's pray together.

Close your eyes and pray with me.

Just pray this after me and then I will pray for you.

Maybe put your hands here. And just pray:

God... I come to You... And I repent...

And I ask You... Come with Your Holy Spirit...

Fill me up... Right now... And I pray for you. Holy Spirit come.

(tongues) I pray for those people out there, come with Your Holy Spirit,

right now, where they are right now, fill them up right now.

Come with Your Holy Spirit.

I speak freedom to you. Freedom right now in the name of Jesus.

I speak healing right now, to your body, deliverance right now.

Every mindset, every lie, every lie you have got from the church,

every religious lie you have got. This is for you. This is for you.

This is for you. Come Holy Spirit. Come and fill them up right now.

In the name of Jesus I ask God come with Your Holy Spirit right now

and fill them up right now in the name of Jesus.

(tongues) And if you feel something

and something is coming up, if you feel just open your mouth
