working with BMWs, particularly software-wise.\h\h

A lot of you have asked me, "Hey Vladimir,\h
how do I install all the software properly?\h\h

Help me install ISTA, the software for diagnosing\h
BMWs. How do I install the E-SYS to work with the\h\h

F- or G-Series? How do I install NCS Expert for\h
the E-Series?" and so on. I've been asked that\h\h

question by you guys so many times, and I've\h
finally decided to make a video about it. So,\h\h

in today's video, I'll cover how to\h
install every single program you will\h\h

need to work with BMWs from E to G Series.\h
That will be very interesting. Let's go!

All right, before we proceed to the exact topic of\h
the video, guys, may I ask you a favor? Recently,\h\h

I was looking at my YouTube analytics and I\h
noticed that the majority of you who are watching\h\h

my channel and enjoying all the new BMW secrets\h
and how to work with BMW models properly are\h\h

liking it very much. However, two-thirds of you\h

I'll continue creating all those beautiful videos\h
for you. We have a new goal. Let's proceed.

First, let's agree on some rules for today's\h
video. Obviously, using illegal software is\h\h

not legal. That's why I always recommend\h
you to purchase only legal software from\h\h

the manufacturer, supporting the manufacturer.\h
But if you think differently and can find some\h\h

workarounds, looking through Google or other\h
means to get the software, it's absolutely up\h\h

to you. In this video, we will not show you from\h
where to download the software. I might leave some\h\h

links in the description to some software packs\h
I have created myself, but don't expect to find\h\h

all the needed software there. You'll have to\h
make your own research. But here's a small hint:\h\h

if during the video, you see the versions of the\h
software I'm installing and you Google those,\h\h

believe me, those will be the\h
best ones. Also, during the video,\h\h

I'll explain why I'm installing exactly\h
that version of a program or another.

When I was just beginning to deal with BMWs,\h
I was always chasing the newest software. But,\h\h

guys, this is a mistake. You don't need to use\h
the newest software available. You need to use the\h\h

most stable one. That's why in today's video, the\h
programs I'll be using are not the latest ones,\h\h

but those which I highly recommend you\h
to install. Of course, during the video,\h\h

I'll explain why that specific version is\h
better than another version of the software.

Installing the full package of the software\h
usually takes me around 45 to 60 minutes because\h\h

I've done it so many times. But I won't make\h
a one-hour-long video. Instead, I'll show you\h\h

the version of the software I'll be installing,\h
start the installation, skip the middle part,\h\h

and include the last part of the installation\h
when I'm configuring the current software,\h\h

because in some programs you need to make\h
some small tweaks, without which you'll be\h\h

unable to establish the connection. Also if some\h
configurations inside the computer will be needed,\h\h

I'll include those in the video as well. For\h
your convenience, I'll create a special time\h\h

code for the video, which will be in\h
the description and can also be seen\h\h

in the time bar. All the key moments will be\h
highlighted there. For example, the beginning\h\h

of the ISTA installation, or configuration\h
of the ISTA for F, G, or E series, and so on.

First, let's talk about the computer platform. At\h
the current moment, I recommend using the Windows\h\h

platform. While it is possible to install on a Mac\h
using Bootcamp or virtual machines like Parallels,\h\h

Desktop, I have found that working with BMWs on\h
Macs and Windows books can sometimes reach the\h\h

system's limitations. For example, you will be\h
able to work with the BMWs (coding, programming,\h\h

diagnostics) without any issues, but\h
if you want to go way more deeper,\h\h

working with certain programmers like VVDI or\h
CG Pro they may not work properly on a Mac.\h

For example, based on my experience, I\h
found that my Mac was unable to handle\h\h

certain programmers through a USB Type-C to USB\h
Type-A adapter. This limitation led me to switch\h\h

to the Windows platform. That's why I have two\h
laptops - I have a Mac for making videos and a\h\h

separate Windows machine to work with BMWs. So,\h
my recommendation is to go with a Windows machine.

Now, let's discuss the specifications your modern\h
laptop should meet. Firstly, the operating system\h\h

should be Windows 10. Windows 7 is not\h
supported anymore. As for Windows 11,\h\h

if you're working only with the F\h
or G Series, it should work fine,\h\h

but not all software supports Windows 11 yet.\h
So, sticking with Windows 10 is the safer choice.

In terms of storage space, forget the previous\h
recommendation of 500 gigabytes. You'll need\h\h

at least one terabyte of space because the\h
newest databases for working with BMWs alone\h\h

weigh around 300 gigabytes, not to mention\h
other files. So, one terabyte is a must.

As for the processor, if your computer is\h
not very old (produced around 2018 or newer),\h\h

you'll be fine. The software used for working\h
with BMWs doesn't have high system requirements,\h\h

so any modern processor will do. It's\h
recommended to have at least a 1 gigabyte\h\h

SSD drive for storage, as traditional hard disk\h
drives are slow in comparison. Regarding RAM,\h\h

16 gigabytes is recommended for a powerful\h
computer, but 8 gigs will suffice as well.

For the screen resolution, stick with full HD.\h
Avoid choosing a large screen size as not all\h\h

programs, like E-SYS, can handle high resolutions\h
like 4K. Full HD is the preferred choice.

Now, let's talk about the software. The best\h
source to obtain the software is through Google.\h\h

You can search for downloads or visit official\h
websites to purchase the official software.\h\h

Alternatively, you can wait and hope\h
for a special delivery at your doorstep.\h\h

I just have this inner feeling that there might\h
be something important that someone forgot.

It seems to be a couple of boxes left over\h
there. Ah, it looks like an external SSD.\h\h

I believe that all the required software for the\h
installation should be on that SSD. Specifically,\h\h

the original ICOM Next version is absolutely\h
necessary. Additionally, there's a\h\h

brand new Lenovo laptop that\h
we'll be using on Saturday.\h\h

I guess all the required software should be\h
on that two terabyte SSD Samsung drive. It's\h\h

like a treasure trove of software waiting\h
to be discovered. It's quite exciting!

Now, let's move on\hto the hardware. For example,\h
the ICOM Next is an essential tool. It is always\h\h

preferred to use original tools whenever\h
possible. If you're interested in a video\h\h

on how to configure the ICOM properly to\h
work with BMWs and update its software,\h\h

leave a comment, and I might make\h
an additional video about that.

Let's put that aside. And today's main item...

Oh, look what we have here! The original ICOM
NANA as well. We might play around with that too.

Let's fire up the computer and\h
prepare for the software installation.

The first software I'll be installing is ISTA.\h
This software is used to diagnose BMWs from the F\h\h

to G Series, covering both old and new models.\h
Well, maybe not the oldest ones like the E32,\h\h

but it supports BMWs produced from\h
around 1995 or 2000 onwards. ISTA\h\h

will be our focus, and we\h
won't cover the older DIS\h\h

software. To begin the installation of\h
ISTA, we need to go to the system settings.

Go to the Applications section and then\h
to Programs and Components. We'll need\h\h

to enable some additional Windows components,\h
including the .NET Framework. Allow everything\h\h

and let Windows download all the necessary\h
components for you from Windows Update.\h\h

This will happen in the background. If you've\h
done this, simply allow Windows Update to download\h\h

the components by selecting "Yes."\h
Through the official Windows Update,\h\h

you'll obtain all the required\h
software. This is a prerequisite.

Now, let's move on to the installation.\h
The recommended version of ISTA to install\h\h

is version 4.28. I'll explain why later. But\h
for now, let's prepare for the installation.\h\h

The preconditions for installing ISTA\h
include having the BMW Standard Tools.\h\h

These tools are quite old, so you won't\h
have any issues finding them. You can\h\h

find them everywhere, including inside my\h
software pack. Unpack the software pack,\h\h

which shouldn't take much time,\h
especially if you have a proper SSD\h\h

drive. If you have a hard drive, you\h
can take a break and enjoy a coffee.

Once the unpacking is done, open it up. The\h
first thing to do is to right-click on BMW\h\h

Standard Tools and select Properties. In the\h
Compatibility tab, check the box to run it as\h\h

Windows 7. This step is necessary to install the\h
software pack on Windows 10 or Windows 11. Choose\h\h

the English language, click Next, and accept all\h
the agreements. Proceed with the installation to\h\h

the standard directories as the software commands.\h
Click Next and continue following the prompts.

Do you want to install the drivers for the D-CAN\h
cable? Click Next. Choose the D-CAN COM Port 1 and\h\h

USB drivers from the previous screen. Click Next.\h
If you will be using only the ENET cable and ICOM,\h\h

you won't need the D-CAN cable drivers. However,\h
if you are using the D-CAN cable for the E-Series,\h\h

you will require the previous drivers. You\h
can still install them; it won't harm your\h\h

system. In this step, click No and do not\h
restart because a restart is not necessary.

The next software to install will be\h
the EDIABAS. This is additional software\h\h

required for ISTA to work properly. Click Next on\h
every prompt until you reach the Finish button.\h\h

Click Finish to complete the installation.

Before we can launch the installation of\h
ISTA, we need to install Java. I have already\h\h

downloaded both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of\h
Java. If you don't have Java installed, you can go\h\h

to the Java website. Choose English as\h
the language for better understanding,\h\h

and download the offline files for both 32-bit and\h
64-bit versions. Install one and then the other;\h\h

the sequence doesn't matter. Just press\h
Install, go through the installation process,\h\h

and click Done.

For the next version, the installation\h
process will be a bit different. Click\h\h

Install, and it will load up and show\h
you some kind of error. But it will ask\h\h

if you want to remove the previous version. Press\h\h

No to keep both versions installed. Now let's\h
proceed with installing ISTA itself. Remember,\h\h

go for the most stable version rather than\h
the newest one. I recommend ISTA version 4.28.

Depending on the files you obtained from\h
the internet or the licensed software,\h\h

the layout and installation process may\h
vary. The preconditions remain the same.\h\h

In the installation folder, you must have at least\h
the Global file in the SQLite databases folder and\h\h

the English language files. If\h
you have those, you can proceed.

In my installation, I'm installing ISTA version\h
4.28, and all the database files are from the\h\h

same location, named accordingly. You should also\h
have the BLP directory in your installation. The\h\h

ISTA directory should be packed in some way, and\h
the installer should be present. Double-click on\h\h

the installer. If there's something wrong\h
with the directories, it will inform you,\h\h

and you'll need to fix it. If everything\h
is correct, you'll see the next window.

I always prefer to install everything to the\h\h

C drive. Click Next. You can choose what to\h
install in this step. We'll add Russian as well,\h\h

but the other tools and languages\h
are optional. The essential\h\h

components that cannot be unchecked are ISTA\h
itself, BLP files, the Global directory, and the\h\h

English version. You cannot uncheck those. Click\h
Next and ensure the desktop shortcut is created.

The interface you'll be working with can be\h
either D-CAN, ENET or ICOM. It doesn't matter\h\h

because I'll show you the proper\h
configuration of ISTA later in the video.\h\h

Click Next and then Install. The\h
actual installation process will now be\h\h

executed, and it will take around 15 to 20\h
minutes, depending on the speed of your computer.\h

And nothing spectacular here, so just\h
stand by while it's being installed.\h\h

Meanwhile, we are still installing ISTA\h
in the background because time is the most\h\h

valuable resource. Let's continue installing\h
other files. Remember the Bimmerdoc Softpack\h\h

you unpacked to your desktop? Open it up.\h
I have pre-configured some files for you.\h\h

For example, if you go to your computer's C\h
drive and open the EdiaBas directory under the\h\h

ECU folder, you can see some PRG files. Those are\h
essential for EdiaBas to work properly. However,\h\h

we can see that we only have 32 of\h
those, which is definitely not enough.

That's why, in my Softpack, go to the EdiaBas\h
folder, highlight everything, and copy or cut it.\h\h

Then go to the EdiaBas folder in your installation\h
and paste it there, replacing everything.\h\h

Believe me, this pre-configured EdiaBas\h
folder will work amazingly with all the cars.\h\h

It took some time for me to configure\h
such a good setup, so enjoy.

Again, we can see the ECU folder, and\h
you can see how many PRG files are now\h\h

in there. This is the answer to why you\h
were able to connect to some cars with\h\h

certain software versions but unable to connect\h
with others. Feel free to use my configuration.

Next, you'll need INPA. Perform the\h
same action: select everything, cut\h\h

it, go to your computer's C drive, navigate to the\h
EC-APPS folder, and open the INPA folder. Paste\h\h

and replace my INPA version. It supports all the\h
E-Series and F-Series, so it's very convenient to\h\h

work with. Now INPA is already configured\h
to work with BMWs. Convenient, isn't it?

The next software is NCS Expert.\h
Again, perform the same action:\h\h

cut everything,\h\hgo to\hyour\hcomputer's C\h
drive, and paste it in the NCS Expert\hfolder,\h\h

replacing everything. NCS Expert\h
is the software needed to work with\h\h

coding E-Series, and it also needs to\h
be properly configured. I have already\h\h

pre-done that for you. Just cut and paste,\h
or copy and paste, and you'll be good to go.

We have made these basic preparations, and\h
meanwhile, as you can see, ISTA is still being\h\h

installed. Let's waste no more time and continue.\h
Again, go to my Softpack. In the Utils folder,\h\h

copy the Utilities folder to your desktop.\h\h

Open it up. There is an ITool Radar\h
folder. Let's rename that folder.\h\h

Cut it. This software is needed if you're working\h
with the ICOM to connect to BMWs and detect the\h\h

IP address of the ICOM. You have most likely\h
noticed that in many of my videos. Cut it.

Now go to your computer's C drive, and depending\h
on your file system, whether it's 32-bit or\h\h

64-bit, go to the respective x86 folder.\h
Paste the ITool Radar folder there. Only\h\h

after pasting the ITool Radar folder, go inside\h
it, right-click, and send it to the desktop.\h\h

Now, if you double-click it, it will show\h
some firewall issues. Just press "Allow,"\h\h

"Allow," and "Allow." Now, you can see\h
the ITool Radar is working perfectly. Many\h\h

people have problems installing the ITool
Radar, but here's how to do it properly.

To make everything perfect, go to the\h
properties of ITool Radar, and change the icon.\h\h

It's basic Windows stuff, nothing special.\h
Just select the right icon, press OK,\h\h

press Apply, and OK. Now it looks fancy\h
and fabulous. In the Utilities folder,\h\h

you also have NCS Dummy, which is already\h
pre-configured, Easy Connect, which is\h\h

also pre-configured, and EdiaBas, a\h
BMW coding tool. It's a handy tool to\h\h

enjoy. Additionally, you'll find the EdiaBas
Konfigurator 2.0.0, which is needed to change\h\h

the configuration files of the EdiaBas.\h
This tool is essential for connecting to\h\h

BMWs. It might be another topic for\h
a video, but it's crucial to have.

At the moment, we are still installing ISTA.\h
We have completed all the preconditions for\h\h

installing ISTA, and we have already installed\h
all the necessary software for E-Series coding.\h\h

However, we haven't done anything to program the\h
E-Series, such as ISTA-P, and we haven't installed\h\h

E-SYS yet. The ISTA installation is finished,\h
and we can press "Finish" to complete it.

Now, let's configure the ISTA software.\h
Double-click on it, and if you have\h\h

followed all the previous steps properly,\h
you should have no problem running it.\h\h

The first thing you need to\h
do is set up ISTA correctly.\h\h

You can choose the language by pressing a button.\h
In this case, the language is set to Russian.

Next, if you're working with BMWs, click on\h
"Print to File" and set up the subscription for 12\h\h

months. Also, select "Never" when it\h
asks you to set up the vehicle interface.

For E-Series vehicles using the D-CAN cable,\h
you need to configure the EdiaBas settings\h\h

and make sure EdiaBus is properly set up.

For F and G Series vehicles, choose "Dealer\h
Organization" or "ENET/ICOM," not a direct\h\h

connection but a local area network.\h
If one of these options doesn't work,\h\h

you can switch between them. In most cases,\h
either of these settings should work fine.

In the "Ethernet as preferred communication\h
via ICOM" leave it as "No." Then press "OK."

Since the language has been changed,\h\h

the software will ask for a restart.\h
Go ahead and restart the computer.

After the restart, you can\h
launch the software again.\h\h

Don't worry if the icon looks\h
fixed after the restart.\h\h

It will be fine. As mentioned before, we installed\h
version 4.28 of\hISTA because it's the most stable\h\h

version at the moment. This version has useful\h
features like the ability to select a vehicle\h\h

and view wiring diagrams without connecting to the\h
vehicle itself. Some newer versions of ISTA may\h\h

not have this option, which is why version 4.28\h
is recommended. Yes, that version of ISTA may be a\h\h

bit old, around 2018 or 2020. However,\h
I can assure you that I have worked with\h\h

newer BMWs like 2020 and 2021 models using that\h
version of ISTA, and it worked perfectly fine.\h\h

So, my recommendation is not to chase the newest\h
version but rather go for the most stable one.\h\h

In the version I mentioned, you can even choose\h
the engine and access various features, so\hit\h\h

works well for programming and diagnostics.

Now that ISTA is installed and configured.

The\h\h

next step will be installing ISTA-P, the\h
software used to program E-Series vehicles.\h\h

The installation process for ISTA-P is a bit\h
different from ISTA+. With ISTA-P, you'll need to\h\h

extract and use a launcher to start the program.
Over here, we have the ISTA-P installation.\h\h

Just unpack the file and choose the path.\h
It's recommended to unpack it directly to\h\h

the C drive without any subfolders. Depending on\h
the speed of your computer, it may take some time\h\h

to unpack. In this case, the computer being\h
used is a fast one, a new Lenovo with an AMD 7\h\h

series processor and a one terabyte SSD, so it's\h
quite powerful. You can check the task manager\h\h

to monitor the computer's performance during\h
the process. Actually, we can observe that\h\h

none of the parameters of the computer are\h
being used at 100%. The processor usage may\h\h

be slightly elevated, but overall, the computer\h
is handling the tasks quite well. The reason for\h\h

monitoring these parameters is to assess the\h
computer's capacity during the installation\h\h

process. By checking the usage levels, it can be\h
determined if additional software installations\h\h

can be performed simultaneously without causing\h
significant slowdowns. If the hard drive or CPU\h\h

is already operating at maximum capacity,\h
it's not advisable to initiate another\h\h

installation concurrently as it would only\h
result in decreased performance. However,\h\h

in this case, since\hthe computer is handling\hthe\h
current tasks with ease, there are no issues,\h\h

and the installation process can proceed smoothly.

Once the unpacking is complete,\h
you'll need a special launcher to\h\h

launch the ISTA-P software. Typically,\h
you can find the launcher in the tool\h\h

folder of the unpacked files. In\h
this case, it's called the "ISTA-P\h\h

Loader." It's recommended to use\h
the light version of the loader.

Copy the loader to the C drive\h\h

and unpack it into a folder. After unpacking,\h
you can delete the archive file. Once everything\h\h

is set up, launch the loader and\h
it will ask for the license key.\h\h

Copy and paste the license key.

It's recommended to create a desktop\h
shortcut for the ISTA-P loader.

You can manually search for the ISTA-P\h
or use the automatic search if you've\h\h

used the standard installation locations. Language\h\h

selection is important, as it can't be\h
changed later without resetting the loader.

Ensure the resolution\h\h

settings are appropriate for your screen. Adjust\h
the resolution and scale accordingly. If you have\h\h

a full HD resolution and a scale of 100,\h
choose the full HD option. Otherwise, choose\h\h

a slightly smaller resolution.\h
Press Continue - Continue.

Over here, press BMW, and the launcher\h
will start the ISTA-P. If you need\h\h

to reset the Launcher settings, over\h
here, for example, the separate tools,\h\h

you can use the IBAC to install all\h
the new stuff. And actually, over here,\h\h

you can see reset settings. So if you mischosen\h
the language, after hitting Reset the settings,\h\h

you'll be able to choose the language again.
The computer will ask you, "Do you\h\h

want to allow ISTA-P through the\h
firewall?" Everywhere, press Yes.

It takes a while to hit all the\h
"Yes's" because it's Windows.\h

And if you have done everything correctly, ISTA-P\h
will fire up. With the ISTA-P one precaution:\h

do not close ISTA-P with that cross over here.\h
It might cause the ISTA files to be corrupted\h\h

and it will not start again. That's why I\h
always choose that cross (it is important)\h\h

to close the ISTA and press Close. In that\h
sequence ISTA will be closed correctly,\h\h

no files will be corrupted, and you'll\h
be able to use that next time again.\h

So we have finished off the ISTA-P installation.\h
ISTA-P stands for Integrated Service Technical\h\h

Application Programming.
Let's finish with that.\h

So let's clean up our desktop\h
a bit. Let's rename some files.\h

So they'll be named properly.\h
Actually, that one should be called\h\h

"ISTA +." The icon will be fixed later, no\h
problem. That one, you don't need. Believe me,\h\h

just delete it safely. WinKFP is the part\h
of the BMW Standard Tools package, and it is\h\h

used to program the E-Series. Tool32 very powerful\h
software, also the part of the BMW Standard Tools.\h

NCS Expert is used to work with the E-Series, to\h
code those. INPA, the software to diagnose BMW\h\h

E and F-series. Unfortunately, it doesn't work\h
with the G-Series. It will be very-very handy.\h\h

What else do we have here? And actually,\h
rest of the utilities over here.\h\h

So let's sum up. We have installed the\h
ISTA+, software to diagnose the BMWs,\h\h

all the series. We have installed everything for\h
the E-Series to code and program those. We haven't\h\h

done anything to the F and G-Series to code and
program those. So, let's fix that. Now will be\h\h

the time for the E-SYS installation. A lot of\h
you asked me about how to install the E-SYS,\h\h

as well. So, have a look. In my software pack go\h
to the E-SYS, and over here, some E-SYS versions\h\h

that I can recommend you. So installed version\h
3.30. And actually, we'll need several versions\h\h

of the E-SYS installed on one computer, because\h
different versions of the E-SYS can treat your\h\h

car a bit differently. And for example, if with\h
one version of the E-SYS, your programming fails,\h\h

I highly recommend you to try another\h
version because it might save your ass.

A small trick over here to install several\h
versions of E-SYS to the same computer. Just\h\h

use the standard path and type the version\h
of the E-SYS and press next. Leave the\h\h

location of the databases as it is. See\h
data. Create a desktop icon, absolutely.

Installation of E-SYS takes just maybe one\h
minute. It's a very quick process. Press Finish.\h\h

On the desktop, an E-SYS icon is created, but you\h
don't see the version there. I highly recommend\h\h

you rename it to 3.30, because you have just\h
installed that E-SYS. So the right shortcut\h\h

will lead to the right version of the E-SYS.\h
The next one I recommend you install is 3.34.\h

Next, next...

And over here, change it to the 3.34 directory,\h\h

and it will be installed to another\h
directory. That's the trick to have\h\h

multiple E-SYS versions on your computer.\h
Create the desktop icon and install.\h\h

When asked to replace the sample files,\h
you can press Yes or No. It doesn't matter,\h\h

because those are just sample files. Press Finish.\h
And over here, the same thing with the E-SYS,\h\h

rename it 3.34. In my software pack,\h
you don't have any other E-SYS versions,\h\h

but if you do a small Google search,\h
you will find a lot of versions.\h\h

I also recommend installing versions like 3.36.2,\h
a very good version I use a lot for programming\h\h

BMWs up to Service Pack 15, basically up\h
to the G30 and G11. 3.36 is excellent for\h\h

programming as it chooses all the right files\h
and places. It's a must for\hprogramming.

The 3.30 E-SYS version has saved me\h
multiple times with head unit programming\h\h

because I didn't have a single\h
head unit fail with 3.30.\h\h

I didn't click to create the icon for 3.30,\h
let's fix that. Go to EC-Apps, EGS and 3.36,\h\h

and create a shortcut for that. I prefer\h
to have all the shortcuts on my desktop.\h\h

3.36 will open up the right files. Let's continue\h
installing the other versions of the E-SYS,\h\h

the old E-SYS. Actually, there is an even\h
newer version of the E-SYS available, 22.10,\h\h

created by another software company, not EGS. It\h
has a different naming convention and is a bit\h\h

more complicated. If you don't know why you need\h
it, don't install it. So, for now, three versions:\h\h

3.30, 3.34, and 3.36, and you're good to go.

Let's clean up the desktop to make it look\h
nicer. We have now installed the E-SYS\h\h

versions. However, we haven't done anything\h
about the databases that E-SYS requires\h\h

to work with. There are two versions: light\h
databases for coding BMWs and full databases\h\h

for programming BMWs. The main difference\h
is that coding is safe, while programming\h\h

is more dangerous and can potentially break\h
the ECU. It's important to configure the\h\h

E-SYS versions properly. Double-click on\h
each version and go to the Options, checking\h\h

everything related to updates. If you're\h
unsure why it's important to uncheck the\h\h

update-related options in the E-SYS versions,\h
refer to my "E-SYS for Dummies" manual.\h\h

It explains why this step is\h
crucial and how it can save you\h\h

from potential issues. As you click through\h
all the E-SYS versions, you may encounter\h\h

errors indicating that the databases are not\h
in the correct location. This is because we\h\h

haven't installed them yet. Simply uncheck\h
all the update-related options. This should\h\h

be the first thing you do after installing the\h
E-SYS. Don't delay it, or you might forget.\h

To work properly with F- and G-Series BMWs,\h
there are a few things we still need. First,\h\h

we need the full databases, which I'll\h
install overnight due to the time it\h\h

takes to unpack. We also need the\h
launcher for the E-SYS. There are\h\h

various launchers available online, such as E-SYS,\h
Launcher Pro from Token master, E-SYS+, E-SYS\h

Ultra, Bimmer Utilitiy, and more. It's hard to\h
recommend a specific one as the choice is vast.\h\h

In my videos, you've probably seen the launchers\h
I use. All the launchers are the paid one,\h\h

you just cannot get it for free. However,\h
today I'll show you the free version that\h\h

will suffice for working with F-Series. It's\h
version 2.8.1 or 2 or similar. You can find it in\h\h

my software pack.\hSimply navigate to the E-SYS\h
section and locate the Launcher Pro setup file.

Just install it to the default location.
In addition to the launcher, there should\h\h

be a crack included in my software pack.\h
However, Windows Defender may treat it as a\h\h

virus and delete it.\h

To prevent this, I recommend disabling your\h
antivirus temporarily before unpacking the\h\h

software pack, at\hleast for this specific process.\h
Keep in mind that this crack\his necessary for the\h\h

E-SYS\hinstallation. No other software\hrequires\h
disabling the\hantivirus.\hOnce you've disabled the\h\h

antivirus, you can delete the unpacked\h
software pack and unpack it again.\h\h

This time, the antivirus should not delete\h
Token Master. This is the crack used\h\h

to work with the E-SYS Launcher Pro,\h
version we have installed, Over here\h\h

you can see TokenBuster. Within the TokenBuster,\h
save the token file by assigning\ha PIN (e.g., 123)

and saving it to the desktop.
Next, cut the token file and navigate\h\h

to Drive C, where you can create\ha\hfolder\h
named "Token" and paste the file there.

Now, you can\hlaunch\hthe Launcher\h
Pro using the assigned icon.\h

Remember, this cracked free launcher is\h
compatible\hwith E-SYS versions up to 3.30,\h

that`s why we\hinstalled multiple\h
E-SYS versions. In the\hLauncher\hPro,\h\h

select the EST path, which is the\h
location of\hthe token file. Open\h\h

the token folder on Drive C and enter the\h
PIN (e.g., 1234) when prompted. Press\h"Launch\h\h

Now" and copy the code provided. Now,\h
switch back to the crack, paste the code,\h\h

and click "Activate." Once activated,\h
press\h\h"Launch Now"\hin the Launcher Pro,\h\h

and it will open E-SYS version 3.30\h
with the additional launcher. This\h\h

launcher enables us to access the ECU and make\h
modifications. For more detailed instructions,\h\h

refer to my E-SYS for "Dummies" manual. Please\h
note that this action is secured by Token Master.

You can now close the TokenBuster software\h
and reactivate your antivirus protection, as\h\h

it is no longer needed. Ensure that the activation\h
is successful, and now, the only remaining task is\h\h

to install the databases. Unpacking the light\h
databases should take about five minutes,\h\h

while unpacking the full databases\h
may take a significant amount\h\h

of time. On my two terabyte external drive,\h
I have pre-installed various databases.\h\h

The person who created the different\h
database options has done an incredible job.\h\h

Having various databases is advantageous\h
for different scenarios. For example,\h\h

if you're flashing an ECU using one version\h
of the database and something goes wrong, you\h\h

can switch to another version of E-SYS or\h
another database\hfor troubleshooting purposes.

Additionally, you\hmight need different\h\hdatabases\h
when you want to\hdowngrade or upgrade\hand\h\h

experiment with different ECU software.

If you're performing a fresh installation,\h\hit's\h\h

recommended to use the latest\hdatabase\h
version on your computer. Unpack\h\h

the databases to the desktop initially, and I\h
will guide you on where to move them afterwards.

Now everything depends on the power of the\h
computer. So, just some observations from my side:\h\h

the longest time I was unpacking the database, it\h
was maybe like 10 or 12 hours. It was a computer\h\h

slow as [__] - sorry for my French, but it was\h
very slow. The computer is kind of powerful,\h\h

but it has a hard drive. Unpacking the full\h
database will take you around four hours if\h\h

you have an SSD drive. A regular SSD drive\h
will take you around maybe 40 minutes. The\h\h

fastest SSD drives I have seen take from 20 to\h
30 minutes to unpack the full databases. As you\h\h

can see over here, the calculated time shows 28\h
minutes. So, that computer is kind of a beast.

I'll just leave the computer for\h
half an hour, so it will be unpacked,\h\h

and then I can show you where to put those\h
databases to finish our installation.\h\h

Meanwhile, our 7-Zip is unpacking the full\h
database, I'll tell you some more information.\h\h

Remember, I told you that there are different\h
launchers already available. At the moment,\h\h

we have installed the E-SYS Launcher Pro, version\h
2.8.1. It will be enough for you to work with all\h\h

the F series, but it will not be enough to work\h
properly with the G Series. Why is that? Remember,\h\h

we're installing the Launcher Pro, version 2.8.1,\h
and it was able to work only with the E-SYS of\h\h

version 3.30. E-SYS version 3.30 can handle all\h
the F series databases up to a certain level.\h\h

All the F series are old enough cars, so whatever\h
software will be installed in the F series,\h\h

E-SYS version 3.30 can handle those\h
databases, and that's why it can work\h\h

properly with the F series. But the G\h
Series, some ECUs have older software,\h\h

and others have already newer ones, and that's\h
why there will be a mismatch between different\h\h

versions of the software and databases. And\h
this is the answer why you will need a way\h\h

more powerful launcher to work properly with\h
the G Series. For example, on that computer,\h\h

there is actually already Launcher Pro 5.0\h
pre-installed. You can run it, but actually,\h\h

you'll be unable to log in over there because\h
you don't have the login information. I have no\h\h

idea about the login information of my client,\h
which is his. Yes, I have my own account, but I\h\h

will not log in my login data to that computer.\h
So, because that client already has purchased\h\h

the Launch Pro version from the E-SYS from the\h
Token master, he'll enter his login information,\h\h

and with the help of that Launcher Pro, he'll\h
be able to work with the G Series as well. But\h\h

as I already told you, different\h
launchers have different pros and cons.\h\h

Launcher Pro was one of the first launchers\h
available, and the Token master made a huge\h\h

effort to make it, and he contributed to the\h
BMW coding community enormously. But now,\h\h

some other companies are also working on the\h
launchers and making other products. For example,\h\h

personally, I do use E-SYS+ from the Chinese\h
company. It's a very good launcher. The best\h\h

feature about that is you can actually read\h
the errors of the car without launching ISTA.\h\h

You can read the errors straight from the E-SYS.\h
It is very convenient. Some other launchers also\h\h

include that. For example, recently, I have\h
used the BimmerUtility. I haven't purchased\h\h

that launcher for myself yet, but I think I'll\h
purchase that also to make some tests on that. So,\h\h

if you're interested in a comparison of different\h
launchers, because I actually have a lot of those,\h\h

I can without any problems make a comparison video\h
about the different launchers to tell you which\h\h

one to choose, which one is the best one, and the\h
different pros and cons of different launchers.\h\h

I have unpacked those databases, look how\h
huge they are, almost 300 gigabytes. It's\h\h

just a lot of space, that's why\h
a one terabyte drive is needed.

So, now let's place those databases in the\h
right place. I always recommend you to cut them,\h\h

not to copy, because cutting will be\h
way faster than just copying them.\h\h

Cut them to the right place, which will be Drive\h
C, Data folder. Now, here you can already see the\h\h

PSDZ data folder, just place it into the same directory.\h
Cutting and pasting those will not take a lot\h\h

of time, so it's a quick process. Just wait\h
for it, and as you can see, it's finished.

To check if the unpacked databases\h
are installed in the right place and\h\h

working properly, just launch the E-SYS.\h
E-SYS will tell you if it's okay or not.

E-SYS has fired up. Now, open the Connection\h
Manager. Over here, wait for a bit,\h\h

and if you can see the different\h
platforms of the BMWs to connect to,\h\h

then it means your databases are installed\h
properly. That's it. If you don't see them,\h\h

it means you have done something wrong.\h
Either in the E-SYS, the path is not set\h\h

up correctly. The correct path should be C\h
data, or you can choose another one, but my\h\h

recommendation is to choose the standard one.\h
In that case, you will see them. That's it.
