It's a very interesting
relationship when your mom is

also your manager, and lines
do kind of get blurred.

I had to kinda like walk away,
because I had a lot

of personal stuff going on.

I can like look

at all different

I recently booked an audition
for this independent film

with Kelsey Grammer, and
I'm really excited.

But I'm also a little nervous.

So, I got the script yesterday.

comfortable there.

is a big deal,

because I'm newly back in town.

And all of these meetings that
I'm taking at the moment

have a lot of consequence.

you, I was 31 when I had you.

And 33 when I had Brody.

But my life circumstance
has been crazy.

I mean, you grow up in
Memphis in a poor household,

had nothing.

And then I met your dad,
married your dad.

I was so happily
married to Bruce Jenner.

I had this great normal life
here in this little house in

Malibu until that fateful day,
standing right over there,

where Bruce said to me, "I,
you know--I wanna transition."

- The public just found out
a few years ago

about Caitlyn
when she made her transition.

But my mom has known
for decades.

She never told me until
I was like--27 years old

is when she told me what he
was going through.

- My life just did,
you know, like a 180.

In my mind, I had lost
my normal, my family,

my wonderful husband that
I thought would be forever.

I had just lost my marriage
and the father of my kids.

I was devastated.

But that was just
a momentary reaction.

My greater sympathy
had to go out to Caitlyn.

- BRODY: Anybody that knows
my mom just knows

what an incredible lady she is.

The way she handled that
situation and waited to tell us

until, you know, we were old
enough to understand better was,

I thought,
the right thing to do.

She got a big heart.

- I don't give Bruce/Caitlyn
a pass, you know,

for not being a father.

I don't think there's any excuse
ever to not be there

for your children.

It's not what you would ever do.

It's not what
you would ever do.

To have a child and then not
call them on their birthday or,

you know--and be
a parent to them.

- Right before our wedding,
Brody's dad canceled on coming

to the wedding
like a week before.

Brody really just
kinda brushed it off.

But he has to have
felt something,

but he doesn't express it.

- You're not wrong to
have your feelings hurt.

You're not wrong to be
angry and to feel slighted.

But you just gotta let it go.

- It's just at what
point does it become your

responsibility that you're
allowing that person to continue

to disappoint you like that?

- That's where
expectation comes in.

- But if you can't have any
expectation from a person that

you're in a relationship with,
then what's even the point of

having a relationship with them?

- Not having my dad at
the wedding was--it was,

uh--it was a bummer.

Honestly, it really did hurt.

I would have loved to have
had her there, but, you know,

she had better things to do.

Apparently.

- I'm not excusing Caitlyn.

I'm just saying it's forgivable.

I think everything in
life is forgivable.

And it's not even
for the other person.

It's for your own self.

You have to forgive so that it
doesn't eat away inside you.

And it does remind me and make
me so thankful for the awesome

marriage that I'm so blessed
to have with Spencer.

you want around you,

your child.

he's changing

his whole demeanor toward me.
