as they claim?

Or soldiers as they appear?

What distinguishes them

PIKE:

take an oath.

First, a vow to obey the laws

of the United Federation
of Planets,

to defend its security,

and to abide to the principles
it stands for.

to obey Starfleet's orders
and responsibilities.

BETO:

to the ship.
