Why'd you pick this one?

"Eight Second Ride" by Jake Owen.

I chose this song because I love to work a crowd.

It gets me going, and it gets the crowd hyped up

and on their feet.

It's a country anthem.

Eight seconds is how long

that you would ride a bull for in a rodeo.

I wanted to be a bull rider ever since I was a little kid.

As soon as I got on that first ride, I was hooked.

Getting on the back of a 2,000-pound animal

that wants nothing more to get you off of them,

it is an adrenaline rush

like you couldn't get anywhere else.

So, this is a fast, upbeat song,

just like the sport of bull riding.

It's energetic and it's crazy.

When I first moved to North Georgia,

I was doing small little gig shows,

and there was a lot of people

telling me I should sing country music,

but I've always just wanted to be a rock star.

In the last couple years,

I've come to find that there's been nothing better

for me than trusting my own gut.

Being on Team Reba has been wonderful, and I feel

like I've progressed every round I've been with her.

I couldn't be more thankful to be on her team.

You know, sometimes onstage you think

that everybody's got a clipboard

and they're grading you. Peyton: Yeah.

This is all mind noise that you don't need.

And when I could stop all that mind noise,

you really start to play.

Growing up, every time I saw her onstage,

it made me feel like there was a place for me in this world.

Us touring musicians,

it's hard to make money on the road.

But I am very stubborn.

I chase my dreams almost psychotically.

I want to share that with the world.
