that we wrapped the RS 6 in
and the RS 5 before that.

NARRATOR: And Bert has a
client stop by for some tweaks

to his Aston Martin.

BERT: What are we thinking?

Just tints around the
windows, smoke the lights.

[upbeat music]

NARRATOR: But when the wrap
encounters a major problem--

Stop work on the car.

I'm actually very
embarrassed, pal.

Very sorry.

NARRATOR: --they have to
go back to square one.

This is really,
really frustrating.

NARRATOR: And the deadline
goes out the window.

Oh, what a great day.

NARRATOR: It's a new
day at the garage,

and an engine roar
signals the arrival

of an exciting sports coupe.

British portrait artist
Paul Oz travels the world

painting sports personalities.

He's had two cars
wrapped by Yianni before.

And today, he's back
with his new Audi RS 5.

YIANNI: Ooh.

This is nice.

How you doing, Paul?
- Really good, Yianni.

- Long time.

Awesome, absolutely awesome.

How's all the
painting going on?

It's crazy busy.

It's done a couple
of F1 trips back

to back, so, yeah, just
got back from Monaco,

live painting out
there, so all good.

Nice.

Who's your latest celebrity
that you've done now?

I'm working through
a series of F1 drivers

at the moment, so live
painting around Paddock

Club and all good fun.

Lewis Hamilton yet?

Yeah, I've painted Lewis
twice in the last few weeks.

So, yeah, and that's--

I've got a piece going
to Canada at the moment.

YIANNI: Really?
- A show out there for the--

YIANNI: Amazing.
You're killing it, as always.

Yeah, all good,

RS 5-- this is a great color.

Not only-- this is
like a special order.

I wrap a lot of
cars in this color,

and you're going to change it?

I just miss the
orange too much.

I got known for the orange,
and it's now become on brand

for what I do as a business.

So--

Listen, you're a painter.

I'm sure you know
what looks best.

I see colors all
day, every day.

I bet you do.

Gloss again, or are you going to
go, like, a matte or a satin--

flip it up, mix it
up a little bit?

I think it needs to be gloss.

I like-- what I like
about what you guys do

is it looks like a paint job.

So you want it
to look factory.

Exactly, exactly.

And, yeah, same
gloss, bright orange.

So orange for the car
and then, on the roof,

some splats coming out from it.

What, paint splats?

Yeah, exactly.

I'll knock something
up and send you a file.

OK.

You've got a lot of chrome
on the car, as well.

Is that staying?

Some of it.

I like the chrome
around the windows.

I'm not a fan of it on the front
and on the rear underneath--

YIANNI: Oh, the diffuser.
PAUL OZ: Yeah.

YIANNI: OK.

So you want to do the front
and the rear diffuser?

PAUL OZ: Yes.
- In what, a gloss black?

PAUL OZ: Yes, gloss black.

OK, so the whole
car in orange.

Inside the door shuts, as
well, so everything's done?

PAUL OZ: Perfect.

YIANNI: So it looks
straight out the dealer.

PAUL OZ: Perfect.

YIANNI: Your front and
rear in gloss black,

and everything else
stays the same.

Perfect.

OK, you got the key?
PAUL OZ: I have.

YIANNI: Brilliant.

Paul wants his car to stand
out, like his artwork.

Yianni has given the team three
days to make it picture-perfect.

Lovely car.

This is an old custom of ours.

It's Paul Oz.

We wrapped his RS 5,
the old-school one,

originally in orange.
- Yep.

RS 6?

And then he got an R6 that
we wrapped in orange again.

Yeah.

It's more its
signature color now.

Yeah.

YIANNI: Exactly that--
his signature color.

So he's like, yeah,
here's my brand-new RS 5.

Let's wrap it orange again.

So full wrap, shuts
and returns in orange.

All the chromes and the silver
bits are going gloss black.

Yeah.

We're leaving the
carbon roof, though?

YIANNI: Leave the carbon roof.

But you know he's an artist.

He wants a big paint
splat on the roof.

Who's doing that, him?

YIANNI: Amelia.

Yeah, we're definitely not going
to paint it on that carbon roof.

I was going to say, do
you want me to actually

splat some paint on there?

Hell, no.

Paint splat with vinyl,
so you can obviously

make that on the plotter--
- Cool.

--and then stick it on there.

You'll get, obviously,
the design and style.

Yep.

You're going to be
stripping this car down, Mike.

Yeah, it's going to be a big
strip because, obviously, it's

shuts and returns, so
front bumper, I mean,

wing mirrors, handles.

And we're going to be taking
the doors off of this, as well.

OK, so that is the car.

Mike, if you can get
to stripping this car,

and if you two start wrapping.

NARRATOR: Mike makes
a start stripping

the first of over 30 parts.

MIKE: We're starting
on the rear.

I'm going to take the
lights out of the vehicle

and off of the
boot lid, as well.

So this is the best
place to start.

Keeps me out of the
way of the wrappers

so they can do their thing.

[upbeat music]

NARRATOR: At the
front of the car,

the first panel is being
wrapped in the new orange vinyl.

Gloss vinyl is designed to give
a finish which looks like paint.

Wow.

NARRATOR: The shine
shows any flaws.

[upbeat music]

The wrap is looking good,
and under the bonnet is

something really special, too.

Designed as a grand tourer,
the RS 5 has a lightweight,

biturbo 2.9-liter V6.

All-wheel drive and
a lower suspension

mean the car has remarkable
grip and handling.

From the bonnet
to the boot, Terry

continues to strip the badges.

It's a delicate process.

The team have devised a special
system to avoid any mistakes.

So we're just
templating the badge.

So when it's removed, and
we wrap this boot lid,

we put this template
back on, and the badge

will go back on this boot
exactly where it come back off.

So now anyone that
wants to put this on,

they know exactly where-- what
car it's for and what panel

it's going to go on.

[upbeat music]

NARRATOR: Meanwhile, Mike
is freeing off the door,

and it's heavy.

Well, go on.

Try it.

That's it.

[groaning]

Lovely, boys.

NARRATOR: It needs to come
off the car so the shuts

and returns can be done.

The client wants the car to
be seamless, all in one color.

With the door
stripped, the wrap team

can also access the front wing.

from the car, the huge
carbon-filled front panel.

The front wheels
have been removed,

as the panel fixings are tucked
away in the inner wheel arch.

James, quick, jump on this
corner-- here, here, over here.

That's it.

Let me jump around
the other side.

All right, you ready?

NARRATOR: The panel needs
to be stripped down further

to give the wrappers access.

High-performance cars often
come with optional carbon fiber

upgrades.

It's a super
lightweight material,

but it's 20 times more
expensive than steel.

OK, so here's one
of the carbon pieces--

not damaged in any way.

No clips broken or
anything like that.

So hopefully this goes
all nice and smoothly.

[upbeat music]

NARRATOR: The workshop is full.

NARRATOR: And Yianni is
keeping an eye on progress.

Wrong color.

How's that even possible, Bert?

NARRATOR: Paul Oz
has been in touch.

He's seen Yianni's post and
is worried they've picked

the wrong shade of orange.

Bert, downstairs now--

Stop work on the car.

It's the wrong color.

It's not even close.

Look at the difference, man.
It's massive.

What, it's supposed

It's supposed

and we've done it that color.

Look how much we've wrapped--

But can you imagine
doing hand-over

on the car fully wrapped and
fully fitted and him turning up,

because he lives miles

a costly mistake.

Four people's
labor, half a car's

worth of vinyl,
thousands, not hundreds

of pounds down the drain.

The new vinyl has been ordered
to arrive special delivery

tomorrow morning.

[suspenseful music]

NARRATOR: Paul was due
to collect his car today,

but it's still half
wrapped in the wrong color.

All the team can do
now is strip the car

and wait for the
new vinyl to arrive.

This is really,
really frustrating,

after we spent all those
hours on it, because I was

very happy with what I've done.

NARRATOR: Not only does the
vinyl have to be stripped,

the whole car
needs to be cleaned

to remove any glue traces.

Outside, there's a
welcome delivery.

YIANNI: Vinyl's here, guys.

[cheering]

Right.

OK, everyone, let's get
cracking on this car.

Need to get it down quick time.

NARRATOR: Missing deadline
is a huge embarrassment.

The garage is full, but
Yianni wants all six

of his wrappers to
focus on Paul's car.

Everyone jump in.

NARRATOR: Wrappers
usually work in pairs.

It's extremely rare for Yianni
to put everyone on the same job.

It will take at least a
day to finish the wrap,

and it will also have a knock-on
effect on the other jobs

in the garage.

ANDREW: Boys, Paul Oz is giving
us a bit more time on the car.

No?

[cheering]

I was going to say, I thought
you'd be happy with that.

Amazing.

NARRATOR: The collection is
now booked in for tomorrow.

[upbeat music]

Jobs are booked in weeks
in advance of the workshop.

Paul is an Aston
Martin enthusiast.

Bert booked him in for
an on-the-spot job,

and now he has to
put on a brave face.

a couple of little touches

on the car for you.

smoke the lights.

And I assume

for this as well, aren't you?

Yeah, I'm going to
go for a little walk.

So you're putting my
boys under pressure.

Yeah.

Mikey has been pulled off

the Audi to work on the DB11.

So what we're
going to do is going

to start with the back
screen, which is the hardest

window on this car, just because
it doesn't open with the boot.

So I'm going to have
to get in the car

with the tint on my hands.

And I'm a tall guy.

I'm, like, 6' 5", so that's--

that don't make
it easy, as well.

NARRATOR: Tinting windows
is time-consuming.

This job has taken
Mikey a good half a day.

The tint film will take 48 hours
to fully adhere to the glass.

Smoking the lights
is the final touch.

[upbeat music]

Yeah.

[upbeat music]

You all right?

PAUL LOCK: Very well.
- Timing is impeccable.

- Yeah?
- Just pulled it out.

PAUL LOCK: Beautiful.

but at least one

The team have worked flat
out, and the car is finally

wrapped in the right color.

While Mike begins
fitting up, Amelia

is working on the roof design.

So the customer is
an artist, so he wants

some paint splats on the roof.

Here, you can see the
design that he's got.

The black background will
be the carbon fiber roof,

and then the white
paint splats are going

to be orange to match the car.

So I've taken this image,
vectorized it, traced it,

and then put it into,
like-- sort of squished it

down and put it
into a software so I

can cut it out on the plotter.

[upbeat music]

NARRATOR: Terry uses
the template he made,

and the badge is in
the perfect position.

[upbeat music]

Paul finishes each
of his artworks

with a splatter of paint.

Amelia needs to carefully line
up the design with the roof edge

to make sure it gives the
artist's trademark effect.

[upbeat music]

It's taken a huge effort
from the whole team

to get Paul's car wrapped
in his signature orange.

After the color
disaster, Yianni knows he

cannot afford another mistake.

[upbeat music]

We did get the orange
wrong, but we have

now rectified that mistake.

I love the personal touch
with the splats on the roof.

He is an artist, so
it is personal to him.
