with very different visions.

NARRATOR: Yianni steps in
with one-of-a-kind wrap to try

and keep both sides happy.

[sighs] I don't
even know if I want

to say this because my
staff are going to kill me.

NARRATOR: Inside the garage,
Amelia faces her biggest

design challenge ever.

AMELIA: This hopefully will
be my first major success.

NARRATOR: But making this
concept a reality is tough.

I really, really
don't like it.

NARRATOR: Can the team
regroup to produce

a finish that both clients
will be happy with?

[sighs] Under
pressure, Charlie

and Jay are on their way.

And they're still
working on the roof.

NARRATOR: It's a
new day at the unit.

And outside, there's
a modded Transporter

heading Yianni's way.

Charlie and Jay own a
car detailing company.

They've spent over $10,000
customizing this one-off show

vehicle, which they take around
the country to motoring events.

[air hissing]

YIANNI: He's got it on
air-- of course he has.

NARRATOR: And now they've come
to Yianni for their first wrap

to complete the look.

You're a boy, isn't you?

How are we doing, fam?

Have you got air
right on this van?

- I do.
- You good?

Hey, Jay.

You?

Mate, this is lovely.

We've just had
it literally done.

So it's going to become
our show vehicle--

got to have a van,
thought we'd make

it look a little bit different,
step our game up a bit.

Brand new wheels coming

CHARLIE: There you go.
YIANNI: It is different.

I think it looks great in white.

I like it in white.

But we want to go
for the camo look.

So we'll have a bit
of satin and matte.

NARRATOR: The Transporter has
been around for over 60 years

and is a cult classic.

The Sportline is the top spec,
coming with 18-inch wheels

and exclusive exterior trims.

But Charlie and Jay have taken
this van to the next level,

adding hydraulics, a
top-of-the-range sound system,

and a complete interior retrim
with bespoke leather seats.

[sighs]

[music playing]

Here's what we're going to do.

You can have one.

You can have the other.

And I'm going to sit
back and enjoy my coffee.

Charlie and Jay have agreed
to meet in the middle.

Now Yianni has to brief the team
on his unorthodox design idea.

YIANNI: Morning, guys.

TOGETHER: Morning.

So we've got a VW Transporter.

- This is bad.
- Yeah, bad.

This is real bad.

They want something
a little bit special.

So the van is white.

They had a full-blown
argument upstairs with me.

One of them wanted it black.

The other one wanted it white.

And then they decided to go
white and black camo separately.

[groaning]
MIKE: Oh, man.

No.

- Yes.

Solid color, man.

I've got Mike--

I've got Amelia
like, yes, yes, yes.

That's because she
likes all that stuff.

So first of all, you guys
are going to strip this down.

At the moment,
the front bumper--

it looks like there's a little
body kit on there or something.

So we're going to have
to look into that.

YIANNI: Amelia, you're
up for the camo.

I'm so excited.

I can't wait-- besides the
fact that it's a massive van.

So this will be my biggest job.

get fit to wrap it.

NARRATOR: Mike gets straight to
work stripping the door cards.

Mike, what's going on, bro?

Just the man.

What's happening?

I know you've worked
one of these before.

My main issue is
that front bumper.

NARRATOR: Every body
kit is different.

And for the strippers, it's
always a case of searching

to see how it's attached.

How is it getting
on underneath?

We've got 1, 2, 3, 4, 5--

MIKE: But then these come out.

When we were taking bumpers
off, the main things

that we have to get
off is this inner wheel

arch, this bit of plastic here.

NARRATOR: But even with
the arch covers loosened,

the bumper still isn't shifting.

I've got a bit of play, but it
just doesn't seem to be budging.

Mate, it's not going anywhere.
Do you know what?

Give me that torch.

I've found it.

MIKE: What have you found?
- T30.

Look at this.

What, through the grille?

Through the grille.

NARRATOR: Pav's discovery
unlocks the puzzle.

Lovely.

NARRATOR: Amelia is in charge of
the bespoke black-and-white camo

design.

She's been wrapping
for two years now

and started off teaching
herself at home.

AMELIA: To be honest with
you, it was my brother.

He said something about
"wrapping my car."

And I was like,
what is wrapping?

Like, what even is that?

So he showed me this company.

I sort of fell in love
with it from there.

I literally just bought
some vinyl off the internet

and took over my mom's
garage, bless her.

NARRATOR: She's been
with the company

for nearly a year now,
starting off as work experience

after she contacted Yainni
showcasing the warps

she'd done on her own cars.

AMELIA: What we've
got from the customer

is a picture of a
completely different car but

with a camouflage design on it.

And I'm trying to take the
design that they've given us,

and put it into this, and sort
of conform it, and stretch it,

and make it work on this.

NARRATOR: She uses the
plotter to cut the design.

AMELIA: So it's going
to have to be sort

of my interpretation of what
the customer has given us,

basically.

And this is definitely the
biggest thing I've done.

So the pressure's on.

The thing is, I know
I've done it right.

It's just so nerve-wracking.

[music playing]

NARRATOR: Back in the
garage, Nicco and Mark

are prepping the van
for the wrap, which

will take 10 meters of vinyl.

So me and Nicco is about
to wrap this Transporter.

Luckily, we can leave that
other side in gloss white.

So wrap-wise, me and
Nicco is going to do it.

And then we're going
to leave it to Amelia.

[music playing]

NARRATOR: This van is
nearly two meters tall.

The brothers have to work
together to manipulate

the giant pieces of material.

It takes them almost four hours.

But by the end of the day, the
two-tone look is taking shape.

[music playing]

Early morning.

Today is the day for Amelia.

She needs to start
laying the camo design

on the white side of the van.

The unusual pattern mixes both
satin and matte vinyl finishes.

And it's all about getting
the placement right.

Now is the moment of truth. .

NARRATOR: And this
is a one-shot deal.

It's impossible
for Amelia to get

an idea of how the
final design looks

until all the patches are laid.

Upstairs, Yianni is monitoring
Amelia's progress on CCTV.

But he wants a closer look
at this tricky design.

YIANNI: Milli.

Yianni.

How are you getting on?

Yeah, getting there.

[tense music playing]

I don't like it.

I think the rear quarter
looks quite good.

But I'm not feeling this.

It looks a bit too--

too close together.

I really, really don't like it.

[tense music playing]

NARRATOR: The camo patches
are too close together.

And there's not enough
contrast between the satin

and the matte vinyl.

It just doesn't work.

It looks more of a design
rather than just a--

AMELIA: OK.
Fair enough.

That we can sort out.

NARRATOR: Amelia will have
to strip out the sections

which don't work for a rewrap.

And Yianni's reaction
has come as a real blow.

Such a horrible feeling to
be peeling off something I've,

uh, spent time laying down.

But it has to be done sometimes.

NARRATOR: Yianni has
his hands full, too.

Jay has unexpectedly
arrived with the new wheels.

- Jay.
- How are you doing?

How you doing, mate?
You well?

Stressed, but good.

Let me see the--

The one-off wheels
are here, my man.

Let me see these puppies.

[inhales] Woo, hoo, hoo.

Let's have a look at this wheel.

Oh, man.

Like it?

That's nice-- satin face and
gloss black on the rim, yeah?

me the wheels.

YIANNI: Now that you're here,
I need to show you something.

I've got a little problem.

Let me just quickly show you.

NARRATOR: It's not often a
customer gets a sneak peak

at their car before
it's finished,

but Yianni needs Jay's opinion.

So what I wanted to show you
is, if you look at the satin

and matte together over
there, they're so close.

Right.

Do you like that?

Do you not like that?

Because literally, we've
done your side of the van.

There's not too much different
between those two, is there?

No.

What would you guys advise?

My idea was to actually
use a gloss white.

Because a gloss white
works with the satin white.

You've got three good contrasts
rather than the satin and matte

so close together.

OK.

Do it.
- Are you OK with that?

Yeah.

We'll lay a few more panels
where we think it looks good.

I'll throw something
up on social media.

we'll finalize our decision.

Yianni to deliver.

But that means all the
pressure is now on Amelia.

This time, she'll cut
the design by hand,

allowing her to be creative
and really show her skill.

She hopes that, by
using a gloss vinyl,

the difference between
the shades of white

should be much more obvious.

And the design
should really pop.

I'm happy with the
way it looks now.

It looks much better
than it did before.

Obviously, we've broken
up the bottom bit here,

put gloss on top.

And it does break it up a lot.

So I'm much happier now.

NARRATOR: Yianni has been
keeping an eye on the CCTV,

but he needs to sign off
the new design in person.

YIANNI: Ameles.

I think it looks so
much better now-- so

gloss, matte, satin, obviously.

No, I think it
looks really good.

What I'll do is, let
me take a picture.

And I'll send it to
him, even though he

said we can do what we want.

Perfect.

Mark, and all the crew--

we always clean our cars.

Yeah, this is, like, a little
bonding as well for the staff.

NARRATOR: Whether their
car is wrapped or not,

washing and detailing is
hugely important to everyone

at the unit.

NICCO: This is my car.

It's Mark's old Type R.
He gave this car to me

because he bought a new car.

That's how much he loves me.

NARRATOR: Upstairs, Yianni
can hear what's going on.

Yo, are you going
to wash my car?

Absolutely not.

YIANNI: No?

No.

[laughs] They said no.

[laughter]

NARRATOR: From hot
hatches to cool coupes,

the crew's fleet is washed
and polished up to perfection.

[music playing]

Deadline day.

The morning starts with
some good news for Yianni.

[ding]

Charlie.

"Looks OK," capital "LOL.

But Jay loves it.

[laughs]

NARRATOR: Downstairs, Amelia
has gone from light to dark,

laying the black camo patches
on the other side of the van.

[blowing]

And Yianni has had a last-minute
idea to help unify the design.

Mark and Nicco have
to make it work.

We got to find the proper
straight line on this one.

So we're just going
to straight-- like,

stick it straight bang on.

Cool.

Let's do that then.

Mark's at the top looking down
to make sure it's 100% straight.

And Nicco is trying
to line it up.

It's taken a lot longer
than I thought it would.

[sighs] Under pressure--
and I know Charlie

and Jake are on their way.

And they're still
working on the roof.

ties the black and white

together and gives
a burst of color.

Now Mike has to refit the van
before the clients arrive.

I'm fitting up
the Transporter.

We're under a lot
of pressure on time.

NARRATOR: These custom wheels
were designed by the client

and are totally unique.

The wheels complete the look.

And the job is ready for
Yianni's final inspection.

This van has been an
incredible design challenge.

Yianni needs to have one
final check over both sides

of the camo pattern to make sure
he's happy with the finished

product.

I think the stripe works.

Amelia has really done
well with this vehicle.

It's the first time I've asked
her to do something like this.

I'm really happy with
the quality of work.
