When I'm not on set filming movies,

I'm pursuing a lifelong passion for carpentry

and home renovation, a skill that's been passed down

through my family.

It's giving me feels of my hometown.

- New Orleans.

- It's giving that vibe oa little bit..

I'm Luke. So nice to meet you.

- Nice to meet you.

- I can already tell you guys are a lot of fun.

- I am Simone.

- I am Erica, Simone's big sister.

And I love my baby sister.

- We're so different, but we're so much alike.

At the same time sometimes, we--"absolutely."

We say the same things in the same tone and laugh the same.

"Mm-hmm."

- We were born and raised in this house

- This was the house you spent your whole childhood in?

- Absolutely. - Wow.

- Yeah.

- It's so unique, especially for Georgia.

We were wondering, y'all can give us

a little bit of backstory especiaabout it.eorgia.

- Absolutely.

It was custom built in 1964.

- OK.

- A lot of people say that it looks

like a New Orleans style home.

- We were saying that as we were walking up.

Yeah, someone had a very strong idea of the way

they wanted it to feel. - Absolutely.

- Our parents bought it about 10 years after it was built.

- Yep.

We lived in this home until our parents

ended up getting a divorce.

And they sold it.

After we moved out, it changed hands a couple of times.

- One day, I called Erica and said,

I wonder what happened to the house

over the 25-year time span that we were away.

She rolled by it, and saw that an investor had

purchased the house and was intending to sell the home.

So I said, tell him I'm going to buy that house.d

- Wow. - Yep.

- And it was a matter of three months

from that initial conversation to closing.

- I can't wait to see it.

- Let's go inside.

Yes, absolutely.

- It's our childhood home.

It's where your core memories are created.

So we had to get that back in order to create new ones.

It' - It just needs new lifes to what once was.

- Mm-hmm. And more personality. - And more personality.

As if we needed more personality.

- Mm-hmm. And- Yes.personality. - And m[laughter]ality.

Let's go. I'll let Erica lead the way.

How about that? - Lead the way.

[laughter] Right into the lounge.

How about that? - Lea- Yay.way.

- OK! OK.] Right in- OK.e lounge.

So this is a testament to 1970s, kind of like fabulous,

- Absolutely, right. - Sort of big style.

When you were little girls playing on this floor,

was it carpet back in the day?

- It was white carpet on this floor.

- Oh, boy.

- That is risky--

- Yeah.

Growing up, this was the den.

This was our relaxation area.

Our mom would entertain Growi all of her friends.den.

The fireplace was our stage, so we would lip sync,

anything from rap to R&B.

- Yeah, yeah, yeah. - I will put on a show.

- [chuckles]

- And father played the piano, right in that corner.

- Did he have a song that you all remember him playing?

- It was all gospel.

- But he would jazz it up. you all rem- Yeah.im playing?

He had maybe some other influences, a little Motown,

a little blues that would--

- Yeah, absolutely.

- I'm a daddy's girl.

When we were kids, it's very lovey-dovey

to know that your father is there

and to support you, and be proud of you

and actually voice it.

It's important.

- My daddy is a real-life superhero.

I love my daddy. It- [chuckles].

- We have so many fond memories of living in this home.

- I especially loved the holidays.

- It was family. It was love.

It was just a time for us all to be together..

- So it was like a happy childhood.

It was very playful.

It was spending time together with the family a lot,

so very positive memories, so much so that

you decided that you wanted to purchase the house.

And now it's an opportunity to keep it in the family

and create new memories.

- Is there sort of like redefining the memories?

Because some of the stuff-- - Absolutely.

- The final years here weren't, you know, warm and fuzzy.

Because some of the stuff-- Our parents split.

So it was a closure that we didn't quite

get to have fully, and so just to be able to say

Sowe're back homere and put it back together.

We just want to create a space

that lends to us being able to congregate

with family and friends.

- So a space that people can share and be together

is a big part of it.

- But this needs completion.

I have so many projects going on in the house

and made some poor decisions.

- Tell me a little bit about this arch.

- Well, I haven't finished it yet.

It was a DIY project.

I wanted to make some type of entryway into the lounge,

and just add a little character instead of having

so many straight lines in the house.

When I saw it, it was a little crooked.

So I said, maybe I just need to stop.

- Step back for a second. - Yeah.

- Because we also have some lumps.

- Yeah, lots of lumps. [laughter]

- It was a very ambitious, dare I say, botched project.

Not many people would take that one on, so A for effort.

- I respect that. - Right. Thank you.

I am a DIY scatterbrain.

You see one project, you start it.

Sometimes it gets hard, so you have to take a break from it.

And then you see something else, you're like, well,

Somemaybe I'll start there you have toin the meantime.om it.

And- There's somethinghing elsehappening here.well,

- It is another one of my infamous unfinished projects.

- OK.

- There's a little bit of work that needs to be done here.

- Just a little bit.

- The floors were actually done.

And then it was a little flood down here

and water came down from the chimney.

And so we had to rip them up.

a- OK, but y'allown have to let me know

what is happening right here.

I see an art light. I see no art.

- There used to be what ia huge piece here.here.

I see an art light. - Right, growing up.

- It's a great focal point.

So we have to think about what we can put in here.

- But not dogs - It'and poker velvet.oint.

Yeah. [laughter]

- Also-- - The tarantula.

- The tarantula.

- There's been a lot of projects you've started.

- Mm-hmm. And haven't finished. - OK.

[laughter] - I love unique pieces.

- How would you describe your style?

Because it gives me retro vibes.

- I would say eclectic.

I love blues and greens. - OK.

- So colors that really pop. - Yes.

- And functionality.

- Yeah, we want to live in it.

I don't imagine having a room that we can't go in or touch.

- I was looking for this to be a conversation area.

I don't imagine having a room tYou know, let's enjoy music.

Let's have a little cocktail or whatever it is.

Design style, I would consider tmyself being the risk-taker.

- Yeah. - But--

- I'm the most opinionated.

- Erica's the most opinionated,

or the verbalizing her opinions.

- Yes. - [chuckles]

or the verbalizing - You picked this paint color.

- I didn't, actually.

It was that way when - Y I repurchased the house.r.

- I- Oh, really?ally.

- Actually, I have some pictures

over here I can show you.

So this is Erica and I I hon the stage.ures

- So the brick on the fireplace was like a cream color before.

Y'all have to tell us more about this picture.s

- So thWas this the '90s?eplace was like a c- Yeah.lor before.

- It's giving '90s pose.

- Absolutely. - Yes.

Every little girl had that '90s hair.

- Absolutely. Oh, yeah.

What other photos do we have in that stack?

- We had a little pool time.

- Yeah. This is with our little cousins.

- We would love to see the pool.

- This design is important to me because

we've always envisioned it to be our family home.

- No matter where life takes me or Erica,

it's going to always be ours, tobecause I learnedme.

what love truly is in this home.

- Come on. Welcome to the oasis.

- Whoo. - This is a party space.

- The pool. Welcome - Ooh. oasis.

- Whoo. - This is OK.rty space.

- Party central.

- How old is the pool? This is a--

both: --50-year-old pool!

- So how did y'all use the space?

- The cooking would happen over this way.

- Yep, a huge awning was on the back.

- Lots of trees.

My mom, she was big on flower beds.

- She did gardening. - Yep.

- Mom had a green thumb. bShe loved florals.

And you know what?

I think greenery represents life.

- Yes.

- So she would love it if we added a touch of color

and a touch of life to the backyard.

- And then there was artificial grass down here.

So even if we weren't in the pool, we would lounge.

- Right now, I see two opportunities

for people to sit down. - That's about it.

- And I noticed that the pool equipment is on full display.

- Full display for everyone to see.

- And also, I don't know if it was always this way,

but you got a straight shot into your neighbor's bedroom.

- It was none of that. No, no, no.

There was none of that.

- There was a fence and lots of trees.

- One thing we do need to bring back is some shade.

- Oh, yes. - Because this is Georgia.

We're in the South. The summer gets hot.

- The heat does not let up.

- I would imagine this concrete gets hot.

- The hea- It does. let up.

- The good news is, like, much like the downstairs,

the basement-- blank, clean space.

- That's a good way to put it.

- Whatever we do, we want you to know.

that we're going to take care.

of this place like it's our own.

- Awesome. - I trust you.

- You trust me. - I trust you.

My thing is, just have fun

-and come into. what the space means--

- To us. - To us. Right. Yeah.

- A place where we can all enjoy it.

- We have a lot - of fun to get to.h.

I think definitely takes a load off my sister

with all of the projects that she had taken on.

- Luke and Olivia, they've been so diligent

in learning about what this home means to us.

So I can't wait to see what happens.

- I love these ladies so much. - They're so much fun.

- Simone has repurchased a house

that her and her sister were raised in.

So I'm looking forward to seeing what we can do

to kind of update the house.

Now that Simone and Erica have given us a tour of their home,

we've decided to focus on their lounge

and the backyard pool area.

And the challenge is we need to create a design

that honors their childhood, and thbut is updatedl area.

to suit their present needs.

What's your thinking with this lounge?

What kind of aesthetic to sare we looking for?eeds.

- With the lounge, I would love to bring back the '70s.

- Mm.

- It's when the house was built.

And they love jazz and R&B,

and they spoke so endearingly

about their dad playing the piano.

And they would stand up on the hearth and dance.

- That's right.

- So I feel like we need to give them

a space that has that vibe. - Yeah.

- And they talk so much about

this used to be the house where their parents would

entertain the whole family. - Yeah.

- I want to bring that back for them.

- So I'm thinking we add some kind of funky '70s seating,

maybe some brown velvet with touches of fur

and some fun tassels.

Anything that speaks to the period and makes it inviting.

In terms of the color palette let's lean into green.

I mean, it is Simone's favorite color.

And maybe we go darker with it,

and add some mood to the ceiling too.

- Ooh, addressing the ceiling.

You know it's called the fifth wall.

People forget about it all the time,

You know it's called but it's just as important.

- Interesting you say that, too, because

that space was so open, it kind of echoed a lot.

- It did.

- I wonder if adding something to the ceiling

would also give it kind of a cozier, chiller kind of vibe.

Let's not forget, we have that big fireplace wall

that goes across the entire back.

- Yeah, we need to do something

to break up all that brick.

- So on either side of that brick fireplace,

I could build two bookcases, you know,

just a way to sort of of add some objects,ace,

personal memories to the space.

- And there is that bar.

- Simone sort of started some projects,

didn't really finish them off.

That bar was one of them.

We also have to finish off the flooring, the arch.

It's just sometimes, a DIY in reality

and what you think you can do don't always jive.

- Mm-hmm.

- OK, I want to talk about what's going on at that pool.

- I thought it could be fun to do some sort of garden oasis.

- Oh, absolutely.

It does feel really exposed. It feels really open.

So the first thing I want to do is

give them some kind of privacy by creating

a living wall of plants.

It makes the space a little more inviting.

It'd be actually really good to talk to them specifically

Iabout what plants a lthey respond to.ing.

- Oh, that'd be sweet. - Yeah.

Iabout what plants a - I like that idea.g.

And what about an al fresco outdoor dining area?

I'm thinking a large wooden table

with plenty of seating for the whole family to gather,

a grill station so they can prepare

some good old Southern barbeque,

and let's add some outdoor rugs to really cozy it up

and offer some protection from that hot cement,

because we both know it gets so hot out there.

Speaking of which, we need to add some shade too.

I'm not sure about that whole awning thing,

but maybe some umbrellas so they can get together

any time of day.t that whole awning thing,

It'll really be an entertaining spot for them

like it was before, but different.

Can I tell you what I'm a little nervous about?

Their personalities are so different.

They both have a strong connection to this house.

Their personalities are s- Yeah.rent.

- I'm nervous about being able to make both of them happy.

- Mm. - And it's Simone's house.

So I really want to make sure that it's functional for her,

that she loves the style -and the aesthetic of it..

But I also want Erica to feel comfortable coming over,

because it seems like she spends a lot of time

with her sister. - Yeah.

- She also has fond memories she sof the house.f time

- Absolutely. - We have to figure this out.

[upbeat music]

- Hey, hey, hey.

Measuring for our bookcases?

- Yeah.

What are you thinking, design-wise?

- I'm thinking something funky,

tall panels on the end that go from the hearth to the ceiling.

- Mm-hmm.

tall - Shelving in betweent go from the those panels. ceiling.

- All right.

- And then we have vertical panels

that run in between that create these

little asymmetrical cubbies.

And then we can do something really pretty--

a piece of artwork or accessory or whatever

right over the fireplace there.

- So as far as material, I'm thinking of making this out

of veneered plywood, right maybe a Baltic birchhere.

- or something like that I'm that will receive some stain.

We want to see the grain. - Absolutely.

- Because that gives us that '70s kind of vibe.

- That's right.

I was thinking to do something reflective--

- [groans] - --with the shelves

in the front-- what's the struggle?

- I'm sorry.

It's just that mirrors to me--

and I know we're going for a funky kind of vibe.

- I mean, think '70s. It's jThink disco ball.to me--

It plays into the design.

It helps to reflect the accessories

that we're going to put in here.

The light bounces off.

It gives you a little razzle-dazzle on this wall.

You're not feeling me there?

- I think of mirrors, and I think it's a little colder.

I want to create a cozy space.

- But it's fun. It's flashy.

That's what a '70s lounge is.

It's not cozy.

Like, nobody goes to a '70s lounge to sip tea.

- [laughs] OK, that is--.

- You're having cocktails. - That is a fair point.

OK, how about this?

I promise you, somewhere in this space,

we will have mirrors.

- Maybe at the bar?

- Oh. - That'd be kind of fun.

A little backsplash - action happening?

That would be a perfect place for my antique mirror.

All right, so that problem is solved.

- It's also kind of what I think about

a bar traditionally.

You know, you often see mirrors behind the bars.

That's a cool idea.

So Simone purchased this bar, kind of prefabricated thing,

which is nice.

You know, we're looking at some hardwood doors, red oak.

And we got this butcher block thing here,

and it's not even finished.

These don't have end panels on them at all.

- Oh, my goodness. OK. All right.

- How can we kind of dress this thing up?

Are we thinking paint? Are we thinking stain?

- We can stain. - Mm-hmm.

- But we have to figure out

what to do with those end panels,

because those are not stainable.

So food for thought. - OK.

- Another thing we could do is paint this entire base.

Wouldn't have to worry so much about those being unfinished.

- I feel like the only thing we are sure of right now

is that we're putting a mirror here.

- That makes me really happy. - All right.

I'm going to see how they're doing outside.

So Brad, I really want to do something special for Simone.

I mean, they talked about being around this pool

when they were kids and that it was

just this great hangout spot.

Right now, it kind of feels empty.

They got all this pool equipment and it's visible.

So we want to create a wall that can hide that equipment,

give them a little bit more privacy and create interest.

So what I want to do is create a long wall--about 30 feet.

give them a little bit more And what I thought we could do

to make this wall kind of interesting

give them a little bit more And is add plants to it--ld do

a living wall kind of situation,

because I want to create a design that tells a story

about family. It's our chance

to honor them as we pick plants and flowers

that reflect their personalities.

So I'm thinking we give them five 4x4 posts.

And we're going to run some ripped boards horizontally

So I'm thinking we give them all the way up,

building individual planter boxes of different sizes.

And all these different boxes will have different varieties

of plants in them. - OK.

- The other thing that I want to do for them is,

because there's this usable space,

let's put a door in here.

But kind of a hidden door in the wall

so that they can put their barbecue in there

when they're not using it, some pool toys back there,

so it's not out there on the deck for everybody to see.

- It's a great idea. - Definitely going to be heavy.

So we have to build this one very well,

very strong, very sturdy.

We're going to put bolts down into the concrete,

so it's not going to go anywhere.

- OK. - Let's get to work.

[tools whirring]

So that's two down.

- 60 to go. - 60 to go.

All right, let's get at it.

Now that the living wall is taking shape,

it's time to turn my attention to the lounge.

All right, is this kind of what you were

hoping and dreaming about? - Yeah, that's it.

That's really going to make a statement on the ceiling.

You know what it reminds me of?

TBack when I was growing up a stain my family home,ing.

we had that wood paneling on the walls because

TBack when I was growing up ait was built in the '70s..

And that was very indicative of '70s décor.

And I thought it would be fun to bring that feeling

back to the house, right?

- Yeah, it's definitely going to give us

that kind of funky sort of feeling.

But this is a much more contemporary, clean,

kind of crisp look.

And the nice thing about this material is,

if we put it on the ceiling, it's light enough.

It's not going to pull everything down.

iAnd it's going to give usg, some acoustic help as well.

Because this space is so open, we got these hard surfaces

everywhere, I think this was actually

originally designed and meant, weto be acoustic panel,ces

so it knocks off some of that sort of pingy sound

that we get, you know, in an empty space.

So how are you thinking of orientation?

Is it going to run this way or run this way?

- It's always so much easier to see it.

- Yeah.

- Ooh.

That already adds so much more personality to this space.

It helps to elongate the space.

It points your eye toward this phenomenal new fireplace.

- All right, so there's that, or--

- OK.

Well now, that's kind of nice too, because what it does

is it runs parallel with the lines in the brick

Well now, that's kind of nice with the mortar joints there.

is it runs parallel I kind of love that, y'all.

- Well, you have good taste, Olivia, because the truth is,

the joists in the ceiling actually run this way.

- Yeah?

- Which would make this easier.

- It just really helps with the install.

- I got you.

All right, well, I mean, that works out well

from a design standpoint, too.

- This is gorgeous, guys.

- Well, we wanted you to come here to take a look at flowers,

get a sense of what you like.

And because you're both really busy,

look at plants and flowers ge that are easy to maintain.

- Yeah.

- We know that you have colorful personalities.

- Right.

- Your fashion sense is very colorful.

But the outdoors?

- Just a little blank.

- And it sounded like there was so much life there before--

- Right. - With your mom's passion,

with gardening.

And we want to bring some of that back--some of that color,

some of that vibrancy, some of that joy.

So let's talk about color.

Do y'all have any favorite colors?

- I love green.

- Yeah, green is my favorite color.

- Y'all are in the right spot.

Green is definitely the color of nature,

of abundance, of life. - Yeah.

- We thought it'd be fun if you guys could look around

and tell us what flower you think best represents

- We thought it'd be fun your sister, and why that is.

- Also, try to look for a flower that you think

Mom loves color, especially when it comes from plants

and things like that.

Mom We are like our momlly in so many different ways.

She has a nurturing spirit. She's resilient.

- Without her, we wouldn't be this level of sass.

- Yeah. Yeah.

- I like the roses.

That's what we used to have.

Oh, look at that.

- The butterfly? - Yes.

I love the butterflies.

Hmm. This is so beautiful.

These actually remind me of my dad.

I want these in my yard for real.

- I really like this.

Boy, this is going to be a little bit

more challenging than I thought.

- Clearly, color is important to both of them.

- Yeah.

- And I think they both think very highly of each other.

- I feel like Erica is more fiery.

- Maybe she's the one that's a little

- I feel like Erica more focused and serious.

- And Simone brings the life and the fun to the party.

- I would give her golden thyme

because we may bicker a little bit as sisters,

but she is a great "time."

Erica, tell us what flower you thought best represented

your sister Simone.

- The autumn sage because I love the color

and it was a ground flower.

So she's so rooted and grounded.

- Oh, OK.

- I love the fact that she picked the autumn sage for me.

I was born in autumn.

[laughs] So I'm definitely a play on words type of girl.

[chuckles]

- Now we want to hear about what each of you

chose to represent your mom.

- Well, I went back to the traditional--

the Knock Out rose.

[laughter] - Absolutely.

It's sturdy and traditional. Love it.

- Well, ladies, this was so much fun.

- Yes. - And informative.

It's helping us to devise a plan

about what to do about the backyard.

- OK. - Love it.

- And I think we can interject a little bit of mom's

personality, along with a little bit of your personality,

so that we can have an ode to the past.

- Yes.

- And we're looking forward to the future.

- Absolutely. - Absolutely.

- I told you you're similar than you think.

- I know we originally talked about

trying to save this floor.

But we have another disaster.

- Oh, my gosh.

- Simone's had some water damage.

It came in, leaked all here.

But turns out she does not have enough material that matches.

- Yeah, and it looks like some of the boards are damaged, too.

- They're definitely damaged. - Yeah, see some warping.

- So it looks like it's going to be a new floor.

- New floors. - Mm-hmm.

And we can do a better job here.

Everything on the outside, the way the water came in

has all been taken care of.

So it's not going to happen again.

So we're going to take this out,

even up the floor as much as we can,

and put in a new floor for Simone.

- All right.

Now that I've had a chance to give the arch some love,

I need to check with Olivia about another detail.

Hey, Olivia. - Hey.

- I just wanted to make sure abthat this panelail.

is going to kind of work with that paint color.

- Well, I don't plan on keeping it that color.

- Oh, you're going to paint this.

- I want to paint that.

- OK, that makes life a lot easier,.

because these I made for the side

to cover up this kind of unfinished project

that Simone started.

So you're thinking this is going

to be the same color as that. - Yeah.

I like that it has the same texture as the ceiling.

- Yeah.

I - So we're bringing thate element down to the bar.

- Yeah. - But I want it to be painted.

I - I want this to lookhate elemlike one unit.e bar.

But then tell me, how do we prep this

to be able to receive this paint?

Because it feels like it's already finished

on the outside.

- It is.

I think if we spray it owith a primer,

the paint will attach pretty well.

- OK. Well, good.

And then, of course, we'll have roses for mom.

- I know you said you were envisioning

so we could do something like this.

- This is an ode to the sort of classic sounds of the 1970s?

- Yeah. - I'm into it.

- You know, I went to a lounge in Vegas once,

and the entire wall was filled with cassette tapes.

So I'm thinking we can do something similar,

but with records.

I'm thinking about maybe framing.

Or maybe we do something a little bit

more organic where we hang them on some fun hooks.

But it'll be a collection of records on this wall.

- Really nice idea.

these shelves staggered out.

These are all just floating around here right now.

- Part of the fun of this is we can

create that asymmetrical look.

that are personal to you.

You get to tell a story about who you are

This will give them a lot of opportunity

to showcase their personality--

I fear that if I go too dark, these bookcases

and ties everything together.

It fits in with our retro groovy design

that we want to do in this space.

I do want some mood in the space.

So something a little deeper in color is what I'm looking for.

This has a little bit more blue in it.

- And this is more of a dusty, sagier green

to the one that we like the best.

I just think that it'll play so nicely off of the warm wood.

- Yeah, absolutely. I feel really good about this.

- Well, remember how Simone and Erica

talked about once upon a time, this pool had turf around it?

- Well, remember how Sim- Yes.d Erica

- We all know that turf back from the day

was not quite as nice as they're able

to make it nowadays.

So we thought we could add a little bit.

There was discussion of maybe doing this whole thing in turf,

but that seems like overkill. - The whole thing?

Ther- Well, I don't know,aybe doingall around the pool. turf,

- It'll look like a dog park. - Yeah.

Ther- Wel[laughter] know,aybe doiThat's a very good point.rf,

- We've got a lot of concrete. And it's very bright.

I mean, the sun is just reflecting right off of it.

To me, would it makes sense to follow the shape of the pool?

- Yeah.

- So that it looks like it's natural grass

that could have been there?

- So do it on this side of the coping,

so we can still see the brick.

- I definitely like it on this side better than that side.

All of our furniture so weis going down there.rick.

We'll have really pretty decorative rugs

over on that side for our al fresco dining area.

- Yes.

- Would it makes sense to follow

one of these joints in the concrete for a cut-off spot?

- Yeah, so maybe

grass, grass, grass, grass, grass, grass, grass.

- Keep going.

- It's just got this natural cut line here.

We could use that.

- Yeah, because then you're not impeding on the sidewalk.

- Right. - You want to leave that clear.

- And I kind of like how the grass

ties back to the living wall. - Yeah.

- Now that I've toughed it out with the turf,

I'm going to take a moment to check in with Olivia.

Oh, wow.

- Well, I just started. - OK.

- So it probably looks like a big puddle of mud right now.

- Well, I just started. [laughs]

- S- What am I looking atke a big pudright here?right now.

- Do you remember when we were about to walk up the stairs,

and I noticed that hole on the wall with that picture light?

- Mm-hmm.

and - And I asked Simoneon the wallwhat was here before.ght?

And she said that they used to have a landscape.

- Yeah.

- And so I thought it would be fun to recreate that for them.

So it's going to be a traditional landscape scene,

- Anthrowing back to whatld be fun they had in the '70s them.

when they lived here, right?

- Hence, this kind of color palette.

- And also the colors in our furniture and our accessories.

And what I'm doing now is just called an underpainting.

So I did a rough sketch.

I shaded in areas where I wanted to see some shadows,

so I know that I need darker colors there.

And then once I get that done, then I'll come back on top

so I know that I need and do all the details.

- I'm so impressed you're taking the time

to give them something truly unique.

- Well, you know I love doing this stuff.

- And they're gettingg an original piece of artwork

by Olivia. - I'm excited.

- They're very lucky. - I hope they love it.

And once that happens, I can do my magic and accessorize.

into the décor, and the furniture as well,

that we added all those details that you talked to us about.,

And we created this space so that you can enjoy it

now and in the future. - Yes.

- So everything just blends together in this cozy--

- Cozy-- - Very cozy--

- So - --fun, retro blends vintage lounge space.-

- This is a cool room. Yes.

- It's the best. - Yes, yes, yes.

- Thi [laughter] room. Texture everywhere.

I never thought to put shelves--

- On top of the fireplace?

- And it still makes a statement.

- Right. - Absolutely.

- I think a beautiful set of bookshelves.

is always a nice thing to have as a focal point.

- The wall was so big, there was so much opportunity.

And this fireplace is stately.

- The wall was so big, It deserved a mantel, right?.

And it just needed a little bit more character,

- I like it.

- This is wonderful.

Everything ties in very well.

- That's our recognition of your dad's love for music,

and your love for music too,

because that's what you did in this space, right?

- So if you look up on the wall above the sofa,

the records that you all used to listen to,

it brings a bit of whimsy and fun,

but still a nod to your musical history.

- Y'all brought it back.

- This is wonderful, guys. m - Looks good..

- I don't know if you guys remember when

- This is wonderful, guys. we were first in this space.

It was, like, really echo-y.

- It was. - I know.

- And these ceiling panels kind of knock back the sound.

- Oh, the light's in!

This is great.

I'm so glad you all used the tarantula.

- Well, we also know that the flooring wasn't finished.

And so we actually found this new color,

which I think is really nice.

It's got a little more brown to it.

And it's a perfect color!.

- It needed a little TLC. You had a good start.

- But you needed help bringing it to the finish line.

So we gave it this really pretty coat of black paint

to bring the black from the fireplace

over to this side of the lounge.

- It's just beautiful.

- We kept your countertop because it had

that warm wood color, but then we pulled that

wood color onto the ceiling.

- Yep. This is perfect.

- On the other side, I know there's

a project that you started.

- [laughs] My lovely arch.

The arch. - You started. We finished.

- It's done. Completion. That feels so good.

- And there's something really important

that I want to point out. - Yes.

- My legitimately favorite thing in this space

tis something that Olivia did extra special.

And that is an original painting

that she actually made and painted.

and how special it was.

So I knew that was really important for us

to increase the amount of seating

that you had out here for all of your family members

that come over and have a good time.

- Right here at the end of the pool,

I built this wall for you. - Yes.

- This looks great.

- I built this wall for you for two reasons.

First, it covers up the view.

You can't see your neighbors. Your neighbors can't see you.

So that's always nice. - Awesome.

- And it also gives you the opportunity

to honor your family, because I know

your mother loved gardening.

And so I put some plants on the wall.
