- Right here, this is gonna be your card.

Remember the card? You see it? Grab it.

- [Dean] Just remember what I'm seeing.

- Yep. - [Dean] Yes.

- Okay, I'm gonna try and shuffle the cards with one hand.

This is the hard part. Look at that.

We can just about do it. - I can't do that.

- I can. It's my job.

- All right, here we go.

I'm gonna try and find your card.

The nine of. - No, that's not it.

- Okay, how about the three of clubs?

- No, that's not it either.

- You know what?

I didn't say which hand because this hand

has been in my pocket the whole time.

- No, that's okay. Look, it's a thimble.

I would've also accepted

a miniature hat from the band, Devo,

or a little red solo cup

if you were a drunk college student.

But still, it remains a thimble.

It's a little red thimble that I can make disappear.

It comes back a thimble that if I take it

and I shove it into my elbow, it jumps to my finger.

It's a red thimble that changes like magic to yellow.

A yellow thimble that changes magically back to red,

from red to yellow, to red, to yellow, to red.

Ah, thank you, guys. (audience applauding)

Yeah, thank you for showing up.

Here's something, if I take the red thimble,

put it into my pocket, jumps back up here to my finger.

If I take the red one, put it into the fist,

give it a twist, it changes green.

The green one changes blue.

The blue one (blows) disappears completely.

It comes back (blows) rainbow.

you just have to pull down

from the top and push the little icon.

Now, lower and hide your light.

You can push it against your chest

to hide the light, or you can put it on your lap.

Now, let's find out

all the surprising things we have in common, shall we?

Raise your light in a moment.

when you had not yet called the Uber.

but so, that people outside would be sure you did.

in newspaper that you really saw on TikTok.

That's literally everybody. Wow, okay.

And raise your light,

if you have ever looked up at the night sky

and felt very, very small.

(calm light music)

Yes, I thought so too.

Put your lights down.

Tonight, we're going to go on a journey together

to prove how much we have in common.

We're gonna let all the directions be decided by fate.

So here, inside, these five little copper cups,

I have a couple of little dice.

Can you hold onto that for me?

You can see that dice

has different directions on every side.

(bright illuminating music)

Yes?

It's either left or right, diagonally,

or up or down in either a yellow or a blue star.

Yes? You can see that they're all like this.

Fantastic. You're gonna hold onto this one.

I'm gonna give you this cup.

This little cup of cup, this one, and this one.

Now, in a moment, you're going

to put one hand on top and shake it all up,

and we're gonna go wherever your cup says.

Sounds good?

We'll let fate decide this one. Are you ready?

All right.

Let's begin.

Shake up your dice.

I love that sound, don't you?

Stop. We're not gonna take a look just yet.

As you look up into the night sky,

some nights you notice that there's one particular star

that will stand out to you.

So everyone take a moment

and pick one star to be your beginning spot.

When you have your star in your mind,

if you are not holding a cup,

please hold up your light, so I know you've picked one.

Be anyone you like.

Fantastic.

Now, let's get a little gin, shall we?

Shake up your cup. (dice clinking)

Let's take a look.

Everyone, from where you are,

move diagonally to the nearest yellow star.

If there is not a star

that is yellow in a diagonal direction,

you can just stay where you are.

Lights down everyone.

Now, the reason is, is because I played a game

with my dad, actually, where we would try

to think of things around the house, in our backyard.

And in fact, take some of these for me, please.

These are some photographs from my childhood.

There you go. Take some of those.

And go ahead and look through them

and find one of the photographs that catches your eye.

You're just gonna think about one

of those memories from my childhood.

Anyways, this game that we would play,

we'd just try to sit and think

of what each other was thinking.

No props, nothing else, except two people in their minds.

Okay, I'm going to display a little piece

of my childhood here in form of photos.

You can tell I have a lot

of different things going on in my life, right?

Skateboarding, to different animals that I would have.

The scooter, the neighborhood cats, et cetera, et cetera.

Ohh, I loved pizza as a kid. Loved pizza and sushi.

Sushi was my favorite as well. Those are the two things.

You know, those things when they ask you

when you were a kid, they were foods?

It was those two.

Sports.

I would like to sit out

in the nighttime and look at the sky.

To me, looking at the sky and thinking about the universe

and how big it was, is sort of an inspiration

for what I try to do with magic.

Try to let your mind expand a little bit

beyond the world that you currently see.

So, hopefully, people are getting reminded

of some things from their childhood here

as we go along throughout this process.

And, hopefully, you get to see a little bit

of my life growing up as well.

Here we go.

As I'm putting these together here, I'm

actually reminded of something else that I usually see.

but you all are focused on a thought photograph

from my childhood and hopefully,

some of you were thinking of your childhood as well.

or things, different sort of things, all meshing into one.

Yeah, 52 different and well shopper cards as you can see.

So the idea for you is going to be very simple.

I just want you to remember the order

of the 52 cards in the, okay, no, no, no, no, no, no.

No, we're not going to do that. No.

I want you to do something very simple. I give you the deck.

I want you just to shuffle the cards.
