He has peed on my pillows and my

I've seen him attempt to mark, and then
I've tried to stop him, and then get him

out of the room, and he'll attack me.

I think something has to change because
it's become a physical safety issue.

Moose was literally attacking our
daughter, Kristen.

No. and she was bleeding from the face
on both sides. Literally blood was

running down here, and he went for her,
and he sunk his claws in both sides of

her head.

I don't want him to go.

I just need some hope that he'll be
better than it is now.

i literally had to take his claws off

my face throw him down onto the bed and
run out of the room and shut the door

I was horrified, and I started thinking,
man, it must be incredibly frustrating

and incredibly saddening to be this
child and to watch the cat that you just

raised turn on you and to know that he's
one paw out the door.

When it comes down to her safety, he
cannot be in her room.

Did that change the way you felt about
him?

It did make me a little fearful.

Why are you still fighting with your dad
about keeping him here?

But I still love him.

Now you're going to make me cry.

You can't help but feeling really sad
for this little girl when she's telling

you that this cat, who she adopted as a
little kitten, she's watching go away

from her. And I promised myself at that
moment, there was no way I was going to

let this cat leave this little girl or
this family.

Now, the first thing I want you to do is
take me around the house and show me

places that he's peed, places that he's
beached up, anything like that. I just

want to see it all, okay?

Okay. All right, where do we start?

Right in this room.

We didn't have to go far. All we have to
do is stand up. He's marked over there

on the wall.

And this living room has been doused by
moose. He has hit the back of the back

you about is the lizard. Yeah.

When cats are looking at their prey,
when they're focused on hunting that

they go through this switch where
they're just hunters.

That's all they are.

So in that moment that he was looking at
the lizard, you pick him up. And not

only do you pick him up, you hold him in

And at that moment, he's not thinking.

He was the hunter, not your pet.

here, not only was this one of the worst

spraying cases I'd ever seen, but Moose
was also really violent, especially to

their 12 -year -old daughter.

I'm going in there right now. All I can
hope for is there have been no more

attacks on their daughter.

vet is in the house.

So, guys, first things first. Have there
been any attacks?

No. That allows me to breathe a little

And then there's one in her room. Yeah,
then he used that one. You just keep

glossing over the good stuff.

Cats can definitely be particular to a
certain kind of litter. For one, smell

plays a part in it. Certain cats are
just offended by certain scents. Now, in

this case, Pat and Lori have found a
litter that works for moose, and we've

to build on that.

Kristen, tell me what your relationship
is now like with him after a couple

weeks. He'll come up, he'll rub against
my face, and then he'll fall asleep next

to me. But he goes up to your room to
sleep?

Yeah. Yeah. Most of the time. That's
amazing, guys. We took your suggestion

move the lizard out of there. Yeah. That
was a big help. That's so cool, guys.

That's a good feeling.

The last time I was here, I asked Pat
and Lori to just remove the lizard cage

from Kristen's room. Now there's nothing
in there to rile him up.

Now he's sleeping with her, and that's a
huge victory. But he's still marking,

and we have to figure out why, if we're
ever going to get to the bottom of this.

Let's take a look at your video homework
and see what you guys have collected

for me over the past couple weeks.

So we have a litter box over here in the
corner.

I saw them adding litter boxes all over
the house, and I know that's going to

pay off as well.

Moose has peed on this bag right here,
this one, and this one.

I got to see Kristen doing her true
detective work and putting those sticky

notes up all over the house, wherever
Moose peed. Now, of course, there's a

downside to that, and that is there was
a lot of sticky notes that had to go up.

So, Kristen, another part of your
detective homework was making

about Moose and his surroundings.

What do you notice?

Well, we figured out that the reason why
he might have got spooked is because

our next -door neighbor's cat went into
our garage over the weekend.

What? Kristen caught the neighbor's cat
in the garage. It gives us an indication

that Moose is not just paranoid. They
are after him. Okay, I had to go into

garage and check it out.

Take a look at this.

You see what's chewed up down here?

When there's a cat and it's cold outside
the way it is at night, if they want

in, they can literally go flat and get
in here, right?

That was an aha moment because we think
the garage is completely closed up and

there's really an access point.

Okay, guys, let's talk about different
types of litter. Tell me about the

changes you've made.

This is just a new litter that we tried,
and he uses that litter. Great. Look,

we got a litter that's working for you,
which I actually do like the non -smell

of. But look, anything that works in
this house, we got to throw a party

right? So, good. We put all kinds of
boxes around the house, but this litter

with this box worked well in the
bathroom and in Kristen's room. Great.

for Moose. I wanted him to have access

from him right now.

First of all, in terms of harness work,
I want the goal to be walking outside on

a leash so that he'll mark outside

an enclosed outdoor space where a cat

can mark their territory but still stay
safe.

Let's talk about the garage.

We noticed today there's ways to get in,
and the easiest thing to do is to fix

will Moose not feel threatened by

And up in Kristen's room, there's no
violence. They just hang around like

the way we would want them to be.

There's a lot of reasons why Moose isn't
aggressive towards Kristen anymore.

First of all, they're opening the door
to the bathroom so he doesn't feel

territorially confined.

They're letting him in Kristen's room to
sleep.

And third, I taught Kristen about when
not to approach Moose when he's feeling

all activated by the lizard. All those
things combined are a big reason why

Moose isn't attacking.

All the way around, pretty amazing
things I'm hearing right now. Now, of

shot since the last time I was here. So

On Pat and Lori's video homework, I got
to see, finally, Pat fixing the weather

stripping in the garage.

Kimba's behavior is Liz's fault because
he would do something bad, and instead

of, like, making it clear that it was
bad, she would pick him up and pet him

hug him. So, of course, Kimba thinks,
oh, that was great. I'll do that again.

Liz spent way too much time on Kimba and
not enough time on Remy or

me.

I would like my wife's attention and
affection again. This is going to be

biggest challenge because not only does
he have to fix Kimba's behavior, he has

to fix Liz's behavior as well.

Kimba's 10 months old, albino Siamese,
super hyper energetic. He just revs it

and he rips through here, knocking over

Kimba's pretty aggressive with them,
too, and that's really concerning

not only are cat bites dangerous, but
they're also one of the main reasons

And one time, Kimba broke his ankle.

ladder. Kimba wouldn't come near the

about is the racetrack. It's time for

Ow! Now, I watched their video homework,
and I saw both Remy and Kimba playing.

You just love that thing, don't you?

I saw Kimba panting after playtime,
which is great. That means he's tired.

But then I saw him attack both Remy and
Liz, and that tells me that he's not

tired out enough.

Ow! I also saw the blockers up on the
patio. That means Kimba can't get up on

the roof anymore.

Well, hey, guys. The last time I was
here, this couple was at their breaking

point over Kimba. Michael was even
looking for a new place to live.

Today, I'm just hoping things are
better.

So, what's going on? There's a lot of
things he still does. He still attacks

and still attacks Remy, but not to that
level as before.

Kimba has gone from an F5 to maybe down

add more toys to this racetrack, as

well as things like scratching posts and
cat trees.

The next thing I want to do is spend
some time with the cats. Let's get the

I need the attacks on Liz and Remy to
stop.

So to tire Kimba out, I wanted to teach
Liz and Michael this technique called

boil and simmer. Basically, we're just
going to take Kimba and play with him

hard until he pants. That's the boil.
And then let him rest or simmer for just

few minutes.

Now, here's the problem that you guys
might be facing is that you only do the

boil simmer once.

Am I right? You're exactly right. This
happens with a kitten.

Let him simmer for about five, ten
minutes, something like that. And once

literally this kitten car just starts to

sputter, and he just stalls out under a
table. Oh, look, look.

I know, I know. I got him. As a matter
of fact, Remy's on the table eating a

treat, and Kimba's underneath him.

And in the past, this would have been a
fight.

I got him. Don't worry about it.

I thought that that was going to be it
with Remy. I was like, here it comes.

Go ahead. You disappear around that
corner towards the patio.

Liz waves the toy just a little bit. Go
ahead. Go ahead. Come on. Engine starts

up. Bang. He's back in.

Good boy.

Good boy. And goes straight through
Michael's office. Good boy. Very nice.

I'm right behind him. I'm rooting him
on. Come on. Good boy.

And good.

There you go. And bang. He finishes.

Kimba crossed the finish line.

We all crossed this finish line. I was
really impressed with the amount of work

that Liz and Michael put in. I mean,
these guys finished the racetrack, and

committed to the activity of boiling,
simmering, and smurgling. And this took

Kimba's hurricane -like energy and
brought it down to a spring shower.
