They know for some obscure reason that
the doctor can work 24 hours a day,

days a week, that he can whip epidemics
single -handed, perform major surgery on

a kitchen table, and is always kind,
generous, and considerate.

They believe, and some of us believe,
that the doctor is a miracle worker. No

wonder they get mad when some doctor
takes away their dream.

They go off to a lawyer hoping to get it
back. And if they fail to get the dream

back, they want the doctor's hide. So,
every one of you, watch out for your own

hides as well as your patient's hide.

Real negligence, real malpractice can be
solved not by lawsuits, but by

selecting and training better doctors
and driving the bad men out of medicine.

professionally obligated by everything
