A month ago, Greg had a surgery to
remove all the cancer from his colon. So

that he's had a little time to heal, we
decided we want to visit MD Anderson

because obviously it's like we're
renowned for cancer. And we want to see

options Greg has.

There will be the baby.

That's wrapped up in the baby blanket.
Although we know the doctors will

probably recommend chemo. Chemo is not
something that Greg is...

Thinking about doing it at the moment.
Because obviously we hear all the

of people doing chemo and being very
sick.

So she feels like if there's any other
options that I can take, I'd rather take

those options and let chemo sit on the
back burner for now.

I got

to drink all of that?

The whole cup? Great.

But there's just too much of it. Greg,
stop complaining.

We're not here for you to complain.
Let's do this. You're doing a good job

already. So my next step is to start
your IV.

What IV?

The IV that I will need to support your
CP.

Greg is definitely on a roller coaster.

His emotions are, like, all over the
place. You know, he cries. He's short

-patient. He's frustrated.

I feel like because he is weak at this
moment, he needs someone that's going to

be strong. So I feel like I need to be
his rock, as he has been my rock for so

many years.

Greg was very excited to go to Houston.
But once we got here.

I just think the frustration of it all
and just, like, why the f*** is it me

walking down these hospital halls?

How the f*** did my life get here?

I don't even know why I'm here.

How are you feeling? I'm doing that
great.

My goals today were really to kind of
talk about what type of therapy that

be recommending and then to see what
questions you have.

The question I have is the type of
cancer that Greg has.

The stage that he's at, is it common,
that it's beatable?

Yeah, so it's a good question.

So the best that our imaging tests can
tell, there's no evidence that there's

cancer that remains in the body.

That's good news.

That is absolutely good news. But the
risk is, are there other areas of cancer

that may still be in the body that we
just don't know about?

that there's some microscopic cancer
cells floating around somewhere in the

body, that if we don't do anything
further, that those could grow back and

back up as cancer.

I would use chemotherapy at this point
to try to reduce that risk of the cancer

coming back.

What we do know is that chemotherapy can
probably reduce that risk of the cancer

coming back by about half.

What about alternative medicines?

The alternative medicines that have been
studied in a more rigorous way, we

haven't found that they're effective in
this setting.

Having said that, we're certainly
supportive of patients who want to think

how to integrate that.

But unfortunately, there's nothing that
we have that I could recommend in lieu

of the chemotherapy that we know could
help reduce that risk.

But I don't want to miss out on the big
picture, which is it's something we can

fight. Okay?

It's going to be fine.

It's a really big decision to say, hey,
I'm going to do chemo. This is something

that we have to think about as a couple.
But the decision, he has to make it for

himself. Mm -hmm.

That's a lot, but, you know, they say
that it's a fight, and it's a fight that

you, would you just tell me you were up
for it? You're going to do the fight,

right? Mm -hmm.

person that's trying to put on airs for

trying to get black back out there, so

been rehearsing. I am a member of R &B
platinum selling group Black.

We were discovered by Lisa Left Eye
Lopez from TLC in 1996.

So we are still on the map right along
with Xscape and BBD and everybody else.

back out there, and I see you and your

It's crazy, the response of people
wanting to see us on stage and stuff.

husband's group.

pregnant, the doctor told me that I

duration of my pregnancy.

But when God blessed me with twins, I
knew that I was built for it.

How did all that testing and stuff go?

I think we got excellent news.

His results are saying no cancer's there
right now.

Well, see, the proper protocol,
according to the doctors, is even after

remove it, you go into chemotherapy.

Okay. And I don't think that is, like,
what we're leaning towards right now.

Okay. If the cancer was more active, I
would entertain chemo a lot quicker. His

choice to not do chemo was a personal
choice.

I'm very much on the same page as Greg.
I'm not sure that I would have chemo. I

mean, we've watched chemo, like, destroy
people.

And so it's not something that he is
even interested in.

I'm deciding to really take my life and
use it as a mouthpiece for other men,

for other people.

Right. At the end of the day, it's
Greg's life. It's his body.

It's completely up to him to...

decide what he wants to do.

So I just have to respect and support
whatever he chooses.

So I just want to use my life in a way
to help someone to where I can say, hi,

I'm Greg Leaks and I have cancer, but I
will be a survivor.

That's powerful.

It really is.

You guys are already helping people just
by putting it out there, just making it

public.

By us putting it out there was the best
thing. First of all, it was a weight

lifted off our shoulders so everybody
could stop asking me, like, what's wrong

with Greg? So now, the outpouring of
love and support.

When I tell you I just could not believe
these people, it's been overwhelming.

So many people just texting us and
saying, do this, do that.

Sometimes some of the stuff people are
saying, just, it's not helpful.

This is the weirdest one, Cynthia.

I need to eat a snake.

We talked to a few holistic, you know,
wellness people, and sometimes they can

sound like, you know, the little bird
that flew over the cuckoo nest, you

We eat deep red clay dirt.

That will not be healthy for you. It
probably isn't. And it was country.
