Hi, my name is Tamar Levine, and I'm the director for Very Important People.

I'm Alex Crone, and I was the makeup department head. Today we're going to

a little bit about behind the scenes on Anna Garcia's episode.

Super, super excited to start with this one. The transformation was amazing.

We were talking about having it be like a Gen Z unicorn raver, but we had...

so many prosthetics with the other characters, and we were doing three

a day.

There was no way that we could do prosthetics on every single character.

There was many evolutions, like we spoke about.

You know, it started as the raver girl, and we were trying to find a way to

transform her enough.

You know, you want to put something in there that they can play with. The hair

was something that we know she'd really work with, because that was a big

transformation on her to see herself with short hair, a completely different

hair color that she's never had.

I have a rapid -fire question. Do you like my hair? Oh, I do. Thank you.

watching these actors who... scene play themselves and then just seeing the

different ways they take it with a totally, totally out there look.

This was just so different from anything I've worked on because we couldn't talk

to the actor. They obviously couldn't know what they were and we couldn't have

any fittings. So something I did in this process to keep it unique to that

person was I would hunt them down on social media and see what kind of

characters they had played in the past so that we kept it even.

separate from that like it's something that's never played or never done so

was fun kind of seeing their personalities and trying to incorporate

the character i think she had one of my all -time favorite reactions

for you know the viewers at home watching this like we had All of

the mirrors completely covered. Even reflecting surfaces.

Yeah, we blacked out all the reflective windows. Like, we really did our due

diligence with making sure that these...

Actors had absolutely no idea what they were.

You know, having like that authentic reaction during the reveal was so

to us. It was such a fun part of each episode.

It was really challenging to try to keep from her what we were doing. As someone

can tell, there's prosthetics going on or a beauty makeup.

And so we really want to keep them in the dark. So when you're starting to add

glitter and texture, you know, they're feeling that.

Yeah, when I was going in there, you guys were doing so many fun misdirects.

would use our brushes. and slip to the other side and tap in different places.

Me and Gabby would whisper to each other like, oh, that's where the horn goes.

And so that they thought they were being turned into a creature or just trying

to throw them off to some degree.

We even went as far as making code names for all the characters.

Do you remember what Anna was like? She was a potato.

She was a potato.

She was a potato. It was a unique experience as a makeup artist to, you

hide it. I felt sneaky.

It was fun.
