recruits until Norway was liberated.

The war ended on May 8, 1945.

Kurt Stage was sentenced to death
for war crimes and executed in 1947.

Marius Gr�nvoll
married Agnete Lanes.

They raised five children
at Gr�nvoll farm.

Gudrun eventually
married 20 years later.

Jan Baalsrud was honored with the
St. Olav's medal with oak branch

and appointed honorary member of the
order of the British Empire for his service.

Jan Baalsrud never
saw himself as a hero.

He believed the men and women who
kept him alive were the real heroes.

Jan died in 1988, and by his
own wishes was laid to rest

in Manndalen among those
who helped him.
