(Episode 38)

What do you think you're doing?

I won't give you any more warnings.

If you step foot in the house again,

neither of you will live to regret it.

Do you know something?

Your daughter Gyung Hye...

killed a person.

Ms. Geum.

If you tell Chairman Eun whose daughter Gyung Hye is,

she'll go straight to jail.

Gyung Hye...

will go crazy and die if she goes to jail.

Having a child who killed a person versus a child who's dead...

Which would make you more miserable?

Isn't it better to have a murderer child?

At least you can continue to see her.

Shut it.

If my child was capable of murder,

neither of you would be alive today.

Why do you think Gyung Hye let me order her around,

enduring the insult and abuse?

You're shameless enough to lie to me to shut me up.

I wouldn't put it past you to fabricate evidence.

Believe what you want, but you'll regret it.

Come back anytime.

I'll show you...

proof that Gyung Hye killed a person.

Don't ask her directly though.

If she finds out that she's been found out,

she won't forgive you.

I can't make a daughter destroy her own mom.

Your daughter Gyung Hye...

killed a person.

Why do you think Gyung Hye let me order her around,

enduring the insult and abuse?

Should we hide it?

I think we should tell her the truth.

We can't.

Miss.

What is it?

It... It's nothing.

- Miss. - Wait.

Well...

I know you won't like it,

but can't we raise her?

When we got back from work,

she was crying in the garden.

- We can't. - I want to keep her.

The gardener said he saw her crying by a tree yesterday.

He thinks the mommy cat left her there.

I feel sorry for her.

Let's raise her.

There's no way my daughter killed someone.

About the kitten...

We can't raise it.

You're allergic to cat hair.

I can take my allergy medicine.

I want to raise it.

I want to have a pet now.

I'll tell the gardener to plant a lot of flowers too.

You like flowers.

Miss.

I need to ask you something.

You must tell me the entire truth.

What does Mr. Jang have...

on you?

I told you, I don't want to say.

Tell me what it is. Now!

What's wrong with you? Stop.

Did you kill someone?

Did you?

I did no such thing.

I did not.

Look me in the eye.

I...

did nothing wrong.

If you did nothing wrong,

why are you letting Mr. Jang abuse you?

Why are you keeping silent?

I don't want to say.

I need to know so that I can protect you.

I...

can protect myself.

I'm trying to make sure that the weakness...

he's holding against me becomes useless.

That's why I brought him back into the house.

Is it something...

that you can make useless?

I don't want you to know...

that I killed a person.

Sorry for lying to you.

You low-lives...

have been trapping my child with a disgusting lie.

I will...

make you pay.

I'll pick up your luggage tomorrow...

and unpack your things then.

Fine. Good thinking.

They say you're a sinner if you have a child.

That arrogant woman has been humbled.

What is this?

A cat?

Why do you keep doing things you never did before?

You acted docile and stabbed me in the back.

Don't think I'll fall for your "good wife" act.

I won't fall for it twice.

What do you think?

- Ms. Eun. - Yes?

- Are you worried? - About what?

Mr. Jang moved back in.

Let her sleep here.

"Soo Dal"?

Soo Dal.

Soo Dal!

- Soo Dal. - Is something wrong?

I'm looking for a kitten. She's this big...

She's a baby kitten.

Want me to help?

Yes, please. Help me.

What do I get if I find her?

I'll say your name.

When we're alone, I won't say, "Mr. Lee."

I'll call you, "Jae Joon" instead.

Okay.

Soo Dal.

- Soo Dal. - Soo Dal.

- Soo Dal. - Soo Dal.

- Soo Dal. - Soo Dal?

Soo Dal.

Soo Dal?

Soo Dal.

I found... Her.

My gosh. He's so bad, isn't he?

You deserve a punishment, rather than a reward.

I understand.

How long did you know?

What's the punishment?

You said you were in special forces, right?

What is it in the middle of the night?

I saw your text.

What is this?

What do you want me to learn here?

- Self-defense. - Self-defense?

Why?

What if Mr. Jang hurts you again?

You need to prepare yourself.

There he is.

Our former special forces solder instructor.

Instructor?

I'll teach you the most basic move first.

This is if someone grabs your wrist.

First, open your hand.

Then, lift your arm high.

Use the other hand to grab his wrist,

pull out your hand and step forward with your right foot.

Then, press down on his shoulder.

Okay.

We'll demonstrate a little faster now.

Would you like to try?

The person will overpower you if you move this slowly.

- Move quickly with more force. - Okay.

Like this?

Miss.

How did I do? Did I do well?

You did well. If you practice for 10 minutes a day,

it'll help if it happens in real life.

Should we try a few more times?

Pardon?

Thank you. Come again.

- Thank you. - Have a nice day.

(Winners Group Travel Look Model Application)

Ms. Hong. What have you been writing so intently?

The application to audition for a modeling gig.

Oh, my gosh. Are you blatantly applying for a new job?

My sister was a salesperson from after high school...

until she was 30.

But her real dream was to become a designer.

She worked hard and studied.

After all her hard work, she finally became a designer.

I won't give up my dream of becoming a model.

Oh, my. She sounds like the heroine of a movie.

Still, if you become a model,

what about my shop? Will you quit?

You know I'm loyal. If I become a model,

I'll publicize our cosmetics shop.

Publicize?

That sounds good.

Don't change your tune later. Pinky swear.

Seal. Copy.

I hope you make it.

That's why I was thinking... You'll sponsor me, right?

Sponsor?

I'll think it over.

Come now. I'll publicize our cosmetics.

For free, too.

- For free? - Yes.

You're so adorable. Goodness. You're so cute.

You didn't bring a recorder or anything, did you?

I wouldn't stoop to your level.

Show me...

the evidence that my daughter killed someone.

Did I just...

kill a person?

What do you think?

I know she's your daughter, but isn't she frightening?

She's a murderer, but she wears nice things...

and smiles and lives a good life.

Scumbags like Chairman Eun and Gyung Hye...

only reflect and repent...

about the things they did...

after eating well and sleeping well, when they have time left over.

What do you want?

Must I say it again?

Don't tell Chairman Eun...

that Gyung Hye is your child.

Let the poor old man remain clueless...

to what's going on before his very eyes and die.

(Police Department)

Did I just...

kill a person?

It was a trap.

I believe in my daughter.

(Eun Gyung Hye)

Gyung Hye started getting psychiatric treatment...

a year after getting married.

What brings you all the way here?

Shin Hyuk,

I have an important favor to ask you.

Sure. What is it?

You specialize in hit-and-runs.

You're the only one who can help me.

Go ahead.

Could you look into unsolved hit-and-run cases...

from between 2010 and 2013...

for which the drivers were never caught?

Why do you want to look into that?

Please don't ask why.

Can you help me?

Sure.

But it'll take some time.

Please move your right arm.

We are stimulating your right brain...

through hypnosis.

Your body will slowly...

become relaxed.

We will return to the day of the hit-and-run accident...

five years ago.

Do you hear something?

I hear firewood burning.

I hear popcorn popping.

Is it cold?

Yes.

Do you see anything?

I feel so much pressure on my chest.

I feel like there's a rock pressing down on my face.

It's okay, Kkot Nim.

I'm sorry, doctor.

Hypnosis must not work very well on me.

I've been coming to you for a month already, but...

Don't give up.

Hang in there.

Do you still have nightmares?

Yes.

Ever since I started hypnotherapy,

I have a nightmare every night.

People have nightmares when they have a pain...

that they cannot overcome.

Our brains illustrate our fears and pains...

with frightening images.

(Memory Erasing Treatment)

There's a treatment for erasing memories?

When you can't overcome it,

avoiding it may be the answer at times.

You'll want to erase those memories soon.

I'll erase every single memory...

you have of the hit-and-run accident.

I'll overcome it no matter how hard it is.

I'll remember the accident...

and find my family.

I'm having migraines and nightmares...

because of the trauma, right?

Someone I know offered to introduce me...

to a therapist that specializes in trauma.

Hello? This is Kkot Nim.

We met through Woong's aunt.

Yes. I'm very sorry,

but I don't think I should go to that clinic...

you recommended last time.

I've been...

getting hypnotherapy lately,

and the doctor said if I treat my trauma,

it'll hurt my chances at regaining my memory.

Thank you for your help, but sorry.

Okay.

I understand.

I found out why Se Yun introduced...

Gyung Hye's hit-and-run victim to Mr. Lee.

He said he'd introduce Kkot Nim to a doctor...

that specializes in trauma victims.

Se Yun is a nuisance in every way possible.

She's like cancer.

You said Gyung Hye is acting nice to you, right?

She's acting so sweet. It's laughable.

What does she take me for?

I have a good idea.

Tell me.

We can either get rid of the cancer Se Yun,

or make Gyung Hye confess to what she's up to.

It's a very fun game...

that will get us one or the other.

I ordered it rare for you.

I asked for your favorite sauce, too.

You remember that?

I'm trying to forget the bad...

and remember what I should remember.

I hope you're being sincere...

and that it isn't a trap, honey.

Prove it to me.

Get rid of Se Yun.

If you aren't being sincere and this is a trap,

you'd better be prepared.

Se Yun.

Mr. Jang told me to fire Se Yun.

If I don't do as he says,

he'll try to eat me alive.

What do you plan to do?

I can't do it. I won't.

I'd rather mess everything up than hurt her.

Grandpa.

I need to fire Se Yun.

I plan to have her move out of the house, too.

And the reason?

She'll hurt the brand image.

Before joining our company,

she was investigated by the police for trademark violation.

I think that will hurt the travel project.

There's a rumor among our competitors...

that a designer who was accused of copying designer goods...

is designing the main item for our travel project.

Sir.

Please fire Se Yun, as she desires.

This is a very important project for her.

I can't let her take the fall for something like that.

Se Yun was found...

not guilty.

- That is out of line. - Grandpa.

When I was very ill,

when people criticized and suspected me...

behind my back,

it was unbearable.

Once the rumors start,

people won't care to know the truth.

They simply want...

to confirm what they want to hear as the truth.

Se Yun doesn't want to burden the company...

for something she was caught up in either.

She agreed to accept her termination.

She said she'd move out of the house to make sure...

the travel project doesn't face obstacles because of her.

Se Yun really said that?

I will make sure...

the new brand is a success.

Se Yun and I are ready to accept...

and endure anything in order to make that happen.

So...

I'll relinquish my position as senior manager...

of the travel project to Mr. Jang.

- Honey. - Gyung Hye.

Everyone at the company knows that Se Yun and I...

have a very close relationship.

If Se Yun leaves,

I'll become the target of the rumors.

That will hurt us in launching the new brand.

That's why we should entrust Mr. Jang to run the project,

since everyone trusts and respects him.

Please let me help him by his side.

That is...

the only way to make sure the new brand...

will succeed.

Wait outside.

You and I need to talk.

Tell me why.

Why are you turning your back on Se Yun and relying on Mr. Jang?

This is frustrating and infuriating.

Success requires sacrifice.

We must make small sacrifices...

in order to obtain greater success.

Grandpa.

Have faith in me.

I'm sure you will be satisfied...

with the big picture I am drawing.

Did Gyung Hye really say that?

That she'd fire Se Yun and give you her position?

I expected her to say she'd fire Se Yun,

but I didn't know she'd give me the travel project.

Gyung Hye was being sincere.

Sincere? Why are you such a fool?

Do you actually trust her?

This is a trap to entrap both of us.

Must I explain it again?

A fool?

The look on your face and your tone of voice...

You're being like Gyung Hye from the past that I was sick of.

I have big news!

- What? - Se Yun...

is being cut from the trainee program.

- What? - What? Why?

Why is she being cut?

Brand image.

Remember how she was accused of copying designer goods before?

It's coming back to haunt her.

She already packed her things and left.

That's ridiculous.

That matter died so long ago. Why are they doing this now?

They can't treat her like that, just because she's a trainee.

What jerks.

I'm so angry. Se Yun was doing well.

Se Yun.

Poor Se Yun.

Finally, she's gone.

Se Yun, come near Chairman Eun's family again.

That's the only way you'll survive.

(Mysterious Personal Shopper)

We got rid of Se Yun, Chairman Eun's real grandchild.

Now, we just have to erase Kkot Nim's memories of the accident.

It can be small.

Let me know if there's anything I can help you with.

Here's everything on Dr. Kim Hyo Jung.

You ran a background check on me?

Remove Se Yun's designs from the travel project.

I'll have to ask Gyung Hye for help.

What is it? What's wrong?
