of emotion surrounding you. I mean, the

women have had a lot of opinions about
you, and I know you all just watched the

last few episodes.

How's your head coming into the reunion?

My head is humble and, you know, I was
totally self -absorbed and I totally own

that. Wait, can you repeat that? You
said you were totally self -absorbed?

Did I hear you correctly? You know, and
then I was self -absorbed because I was

really trying to take care of myself the
best way I could. And I don't think you

girls realize that. To be around you all
the time and not drink is really

difficult for me. It's the wrong way.
And I went into self -protection mode

because I, and it may have come off that
I was. May I say something? We are

going to get into this heavily.

realize it, came to the last... Several.
Several reunions. I think three

reunions. He loved it. What did he love
about it? He liked minutia. He liked the

nonsense. What did Ramona say about

He's always on my mind. He's very
missable. Like every day there's

fresh by pulling up old roots and

replanting themselves in new ground.

I love the simplicity of the smaller
apartment. Each day I get up, I feel

fresh. I'm in the park every morning.

I feel so much lighter not living the
day -to -day bustle at the townhouse.

Look, I've never had a leak in this
house. Look at my beautiful baby!

In her new apartment, Shania shines when
you see her. And the minute I walked

into the townhouse, she's like manic.
I'm getting manic right now. Ashley, I'm

glad to see that you look so happy
because, you know, my apartment's going

the market and I'm really nervous.

And I need something new and fresh. You
know, I'm ready. That's nice.

I need a fresh start. It is so time to
sell my house. This past six months have

been all about this huge emotional
change. And the last part of it for me

moving. Well, so do I need help? I want
the department through my eyes and my

eyes only.

I wanted it to be all mine. First thing
in 25 years, that's all mine.

like, you know, people passing by were

looking in my windows. And I did have
photographers in the bushes. So I didn't

feel secure.

Upstate, I don't have that problem.

really pretty.

If anything would drive me to drink, it
would be to live up here. I really like

the way you decorated this. I think the
girls genuinely think the house is

great. Unless they're really good liars.

Last night you were saying, eh, this is
the poor neighborhood.

Well, I said Kingston isn't the best of
area, but this house is gorgeous.

Okay. So, Lou, what was your reaction
when you heard Ramona say that Kingston

a poor town?

That's what Ramona does.

I mean, we went to Marrakesh, and, you
know, do you remember that?

Yes, I do.

Yes, this is the wrong side of town.

Ramona. Because this doesn't look like a
really upscale area.

This looks okay.

Oh, right, we're going to see another
donkey. You're sleeping outside with a

donkey. You know, if you live on the
wrong side of the highway, you know,

is always kind of putting it down, which
is, you know, that's Ramona. Well,

Ramona. Is Kingston a poor town?

Basically, actually, a friend of mine is
in real estate, and he's not going to

even look at Kingston until like 15
years from now. So she's ahead of the

10, 15 years, take a look at Kingston.
It'll come back. All right. It's a very

beautiful town because of the history.
She said it would drive her to drink.

Right. Because it is so far a trip
anyway, right?

Exactly. I didn't think it was probably
going to drive me to drink.

Where's my drink? I'm glad you admit
that. No, but it was very quiet. I just

like a little more action in the town.
This was in her budget, and it's what

wanted. It's on the water. You got the
yacht.

I love it. That's all that matters.
Okay. You know, you talked a lot about

Hamptons being too much for you.

People were after you, and you're a high
-profile person that's lived in the

Hamptons. Do you have the same problem
that Lou was having there? Listen, I

to be constructive, and I want to be
positive.

I said it on the show. I do think that
you sometimes have a God complex and

delusions of grandeur. We've never seen
any of these pictures published that

these roving photographers jumping out
of bushes are in. Well, they're there. I

walk around the Hamptons in my pajamas.

They're there. And Kelly Ripa and Howard
Stern and Jimmy Fallon and Billy Joel

and Jerry Seinfeld are without incident,
but Luanda Lucep has to move to a...

bungalow in Kingston, it's a little bit
of another breach.

And respectfully, when I was at your
house during intervention week, you

going by in boats with cameras, and they
weren't. They were just going by in

boats. I was there, and you were
paranoid. I was paranoid. And I

believe that there were not people
jumping out of bushes because we would

seen those pictures. There's one of me
getting my mail. I'm in my flip -flops

and a yellow sundress. It doesn't seem
to be a problem for Madonna.

Madonna is my neighbor, and she has no
issues. You're friends with Madonna, and

so Luanda will step in and walk the
streets, but Madonna has no issue.

then he goes home. You gotta remember,
I've been living with someone else my

It's so self -satisfying to kind of own
your life, own your space.

It doesn't mean we're not having sex,
everyone.

And it kind of adds excitement.

You know, you have to see each other
every day. It makes it a little more

Ramona, what's happening with your
apartment?

It's still listed. You haven't sold it?
Until I get the contract signed, but I

have accepted offer.

Oh, yay.

Oh, great. It looks really good. You had
to drop the price a couple times on the

apartment. Absolutely. It's a tough
market. And you know what? I just

with Sonia and Dorinda, with them moving
on, I said, you know what?

I can sit there and hold out for an
extra whatever it is. Is that going to

hard to come back to the show.

Still grappling with the passing of her
soulmate Dennis, Bethany knew she had to

forge ahead in spite of her grief.

With business booming and court cases
looming, Bethany leaned into the

you start to feel normal?

It's going to take a while. Dennis
passed away three weeks ago in his

You guys have been amazing. I'm going to
start crying, so I don't want to say

end up together romantically or not, he

was still my person.

I loved him so much, and we were family,
and my daughter was so close to him,

and I knew him for so many years. Once
you have someone like a Dennis or a

Richard, it's a different love you're
looking for. There is no roadmap for

grief, and it's okay.

I haven't told anybody this. I had just
said I have to exit this dynamic.

I feel guilty that the only way that I
got off the ride is that he's dead.

Well, it actually sounds like you tried
to get off the ride before he died. I

hope that I didn't have anything to do
with him dying. I don't know what

happened that night.

And I will always have to live with
that. But I feel like he would want me

feel better and I try to make decisions
based on what he would want me to do.

And then, you know, am I supposed to be
dating?

Loving somebody else is a testament to
the love you had with Dennis.

Do I hear you have a boyfriend?

I kind of do. I'm just trying to be
relaxed about it because it's good.

It's evolving.

I'm happy.

But I still love and miss and am
mourning Dennis.

My divorce slash custody battle lives
on.

This is about seven years after my
breakup.

It's bad.

It's really bad.

Let's get that call with that guy.

I'm realizing I'm taking on too much,
Bert.

We need to take some air out of the
tires.

I have multiple offers to buy a skinny
girl. I'm open now to...

I want to take some pressure off. I

And Paul went to get a bend drill and he
came back and I was unconscious and I

was drooling.

I got to the ER and then I heard the guy
say that if no one was with me, I would

have been dead. That's what's freaking
me out. If I was alone and I don't want

to be alone now.

I'm taking it as a wake -up call. I'm
changing my life. I swear to God, I'm

changing my life.

When I was going to the emergency room,
I felt Dennis pulling at me. But now I'm

done with him.

Go be where you are, and I'm going to
stay here.

Right. Thank God. You're finally in a
good place.

Scary baby.

No, seriously. That was very sweet. That
was very sweet. No, seriously.

For almost being dead, you look really
good. Yeah, I know. You're on your

deathbed. That was very sweet.

Wow. Yes.

A lot of tears.

Yes. Yes.

It's been almost a year since Dennis
passed away.

How are you doing?

I'm doing well. I actually think I'm
doing well. It comes in waves. There are

delayed reactions. But I really have
moved away from it. As many of you have

probably pointed out, I shut down and
move on. And then it seeps in. It seeps

out of the pores. So you don't know
where you're supposed to be. But I can't

believe he's gone.

I loved him deeply.

And I don't know.

if I would have been able to be in the
place that I'm in now if he were still

here.

Interestingly enough, when he passed
away, you were broken up, yet he was

this large presence in your life, right?

So we had broken up many times.

He was always in my life. So we'd even,
he'd see Brynn sometimes, and he'd come

in and say, please, can we get married?
Please, can we, I love you, I'm gonna

change. So I'd get pulled back in. And
truthfully, when you're older, you don't

know. if you're going to get your big
fairy tale. You already have kids, so

you're not sure if you should be dating,
should be getting married. I'm sure we

all go through that. So because I had
this security presence in Dennis, where

it was a Thanksgiving and I was going to
be alone, I could always be with him or

be with his family.

So I wasn't giving myself what I
deserved in a relationship because I

maybe this is it. He loves my daughter.
He's a good person. He's wise.

And maybe I do the Dorinda and John
program.

Maybe I do the a la carte relationship,
the non -traditional. What was it

that... he needed to change to be in a
relationship with you?

Well, Dennis could not be present. We
would be together and so strong and very

in love, and then he would disappear.

So he wasn't dependable sometimes.

Something had happened on Mother's Day
where he was supposed to go with Brynn

and I to the plaza, and I ended up alone
for Mother's Day because he went to

sleep and did it. He stayed in bed all
day. He said, I'm going to give you the

best Mother's Day ever. You deserve it.
And then Brynn and I were alone. I was

always alone.

It was worse because I would say to him,
I'd rather be alone than be in a

relationship feeling alone. You want
stability and family.

Marlene from West Hollywood said,
Bethany, were you actually engaged to

when he passed?

I don't consider that we were really
engaged.

He proposed and I was saying, I guess it
happens in the movies, okay, I'm

accepting this ring and let's see if
you, exactly.

Dorinda, considering what you've been
through, you were the person that was

equipped to kind of.

Guide her through what she was going
through but ironically you were also the

one That knew that maybe she needed some
space

Because I think grief is so individual.
And I just think you've got to do

whatever you've got to do every day to
get through it. Period. Done. You told

that in the brochure.

I don't have family. I didn't know what
to do. I didn't know it was real. That

day it happened. It felt like I was in a
haze. I didn't know what was going on.

I was in shock. I was in shock for a
long time.

It was hard to come back to the show. I
felt more comfortable saying to her.

This is bad.

Right. And I needed to hear that. This
is bad. It's okay to say this is bad.

Right. And then trying to do, this is
what you do right. This is what you do

wrong. This is the manual. This is how
you feel. This is what you thought. It

helped. Luann, did Dennis' passing spark
any thoughts in you about your own

recovery? No.

But I was extremely saddened by it
because I thought the world of Dennis. I

really did. I liked him very much. I
didn't know him that well, obviously. I

know. You're honest about that.

but he really helped me.

Well, there were a lot of vague
references to how Dennis helped you. How

help you?

You know, there were a couple of things.
I can't talk a lot about it because I'm

still in it.

Let me see if I can say this.

Coming up... I was there constantly for
you the first time you went to jail.

What do you mean the first time? You
implied that she's been to jail more

once. This would make me feel like...

That's what you do.

There were a lot of vague references to
how Dennis helped you. How did he help

you?

Let me see if I can say this.

He got her a very powerful, very, very
powerful lawyer, one of the most

lawyers in the country. Dennis got for
her. And then we was able to find out

information about Luann's case and help
her very much. That nobody knew, that

even my own lawyer didn't know.

How else did he help you?

Financial. He offered to help you
financially. So you went to him?

And asked for $6 million?

Asked me to ask. Yes.

Basically, I asked Bethany to ask him.
Yeah, and she asked me to ask Bethany.

You're saying you didn't know him that
well. I know. Yet you're asking Bethany

to ask.

I'm going to accurately describe it.

Let her describe it because she knows.
And she knows the truth. He does have a

financial services company.

But truthfully, I remember I was in the
car.

The phone was blowing up. I pulled over
the car on the side of the road in

Bridgehampton. And she said, it's an
emergency.

She was in a manic state, and that's
fair to say. That's true. She was in a

manic state. She was obsessing over this
house. She was obsessing. She was

calling everyone.

Well, not everyone, but she was calling
some people. She was like, you have to

give me $6 million. I need $6 million.

I'm like, what do you mean? Dennis
helped you with your kid. I think that's

enough. And then she was moving on to
the next person she was asking. So

how we were part of the process. And
that's true. Alton from Queens said,

Bethany, were you seeing the hot
catering guy and your new guy in between

periods of dating Dennis? Good question.

I dated intermittently. What would
happen was we would break up for a month

two months, and then I'd be like, okay,
and I'd say to Dennis, I want to meet

someone. And I met the catering guy in
the Hamptons, and we dated for a couple,

six weeks, two months. I know. The
hottest guy on the planet. I know.

You ready to rock and roll?

Groovy.

We really very, very much into each
other. There's an age difference, and I

wasn't ready for that relationship, to
be honest.

He's ready. He's ready. He looks ready.

He was ready.

Well, that was a hard pill for Dennis to
swallow, seeing me in a picture with

him on the beach. That was a hard pill
for all of us to swallow.

Seeing you and him on the beach. And I
looked like shit on a cracker. Yeah, I

was like, oh. That was crazy. No, that
was too early.

So in the midst of grieving for Dennis,
You get hot and heavy

with your current boyfriend, Paul.

So last Christmas, I went out on a date.
I remember talking to Tinsley and being

like, I really like him. And I thought I
was an idiot because I was saying like,

I don't know, I feel like it could be
like the one or something. I was really

into him. And we went out a couple of
times and I just wasn't really ready.

I was too needy, if that makes any
sense. I wanted someone to give me a

guarantee. This is the guy because I
didn't want to get hurt.

So he comes back into your life after
Dennis passes.

He just came back and really courted me
and was like, it was great because I had

a history with him and I sort of trusted
him. And you're still together.

And we're still together. Have any of
the women met him?

I've spoken to him on the phone. He
sounds lovely. I met him briefly. I saw

for a second on the street. We were here
in Palm Beach, and we hung out and met

his parents.

They were amazing.

We had so much fun.

Loved him. So why don't we see him on
the show? He is a very private,

conservative, reserved person.

He is calm and balanced, and this is not
for him. And you know what?

Listen,

I've mentioned it all.

All right.

Gwyneth in Palm Springs said, Tinsley,
don't you think it's rich that Bethany

says you don't share anything about
Scott when talking about her boyfriends

always on her terms or off limits?

Well, hearing right now that you're
keeping that separate and Scott really

not want to be a part of it. I've
thought of that and I've thought of you.

that was a really challenging trying to
balance. But you met him on television.

I understand that. Out of curiosity. But
that's not my fault. Oh, hold on. He

didn't want to do it. No, this isn't an
argument between us because I have.

thought about that and I thought it
seems like a double standard.

Not only did you meet him, he agreed to
sign a release and be on television, but

did he send the Kentucky Derby
Secretariat flowers?

Hello, we got some flowers.

No. Oh my God. That's more John style.
Oh, he said 365 roses for 365 incredible

days. Oh my God.

Wow. Well, that was his way of being a
part of it without being a part of it.

Hold on. If Tinsley asked you to call
Paul on camera, would you do it? Maybe,

without him being on speaker.

I'd ask him ahead of time. Now that
we've had this conversation, I would ask

that. He definitely wouldn't want that
by any stretch of the imagination.

I met Scott on the show.

I wanted him to be on the show. I get
it. I wanted that. And I don't want him

to. So then she probably wouldn't ask.

Okay, have you sold your company?

I have not sold my company. I had
several offers and I got very nervous at

last minute because it hasn't really
reached its full potential.

So I let some very high salaried people
go and I have outsourced more. So I just

don't like managing that many people. I
don't want to run an operation.

You ended the season with a near death
experience.

It was fascinating hearing about your
time in the emergency room and you

like Dennis was trying to pull you in.

I swear. It wasn't something that I
intellectually thought. I wasn't even

conscious. I was sort of like, I thought
I was having a stroke and I thought I

was dying. I didn't understand what was
going on, but I was on the stretcher and

I swear on everything. Also, I felt him
pulling me. I felt it because that's

very him.

You know, as much as he said he wanted
me to be happy, he wanted me.

It's very Dennis to say, the second he
sees me in a picture with somebody, to

call me up and want to get engaged or go
take a trip and pull me back.

It was very metaphorical, but it's true.

Is there a part of you that has guilt
about being with Paul so soon after he

died? No, and I thought about what the
optics would be and all that. It's not.

He's such a loving person. He literally
saved my life. He saved my life

emotionally. He totally respects
boundaries.

He wanted in the beginning to sort of
make sure. sure that this wasn't some

transference, where I wasn't, you know,
falling for him because of my feeling. I

mean, he's just a very, very wise
person. Conscious guy. Very conscious

They say a door closes, another one
opens. I mean, how symbolic was that?

He freed your spirit, this guy. I feel
like that. I do.

Right, because you were sort of like on
this merry -go -round. You couldn't get

off it. I don't know that I would have
gotten off. I don't think you would

Yeah, I was worried. I really don't.
Well, I'm happy you're off. I'm happy

have. Me too. You're on a happier ride.
Me too, and that's why I was also

projecting onto Tinsley, because I was
seeing her on this ride, and I knew it

was a train to nowhere.
