Since this is an all
volunteer unit,

I know that every one of you
wants to be here

and nobody's been dragged in

Statistics are generally dry
and uninspiring,

but I'm gonna

and 110 horses.

And some of us ride desks.

We have our own radio band

and each member is issued
a walkie-talkie.

And since I've assumed command,
we have two nine-horse vans

that can get to any part of
the city in a matter of minutes.

We also have two-horse vans

and station wagons to pull them.

These wagons are equipped
with radios and sirens.

Just like the real cops have.

Now, that's a bad joke.

Not because it isn't funny,

but because a lot of people
in the department

don't think of us
as real cops.

They think we're only good
for writing traffic tickets

and leading
the St. Patrick's Day parade.

But I wanna tell you, we have
something that no other cop has

and that's high visibility.

Now, there must be something
in that concept

because we get
a lot of policemen

from all over the country
observing our program.

As a matter of fact,
we have a visitor today

from Tempe, Arizona.
