every day to feed and medicate her,

because the staff can't cope.

She is violent and lashes out at them,

out of terror, I think.

There's nearly a million
old people with dementia

and to give them the treatment
they need costs serious money.

And why spend serious money on the old?

as you can see, that my mother's
answered A's and B's for,

nothing critical whatsoever.

So this woman who the
consultant described as

"unable to understand
and difficult to communicate with"

has answered every single answer
on this form.

a form, she'd eat it.

My mum has been in hospital
just twice before.

When she had me and when she had Claire.

Apart from that, she has not
cost the NHS a penny,

yet she's contributed to it
her whole working life.

She needs 24-hour nursing care.

She needs a doctor, a counsellor,
a gastroenterologist,

a physiotherapist,
my mother deserves these things.

She deserves a place
that meets her needs.
