I'll protect you.

Nothing yet.

Hang in there. The plane will show.

anything what is coming in now

What are the numbers?

7 -8 -0 -6.

November. That's the one. Let's hit it.

Hold her eyes, sir. United States Customs. You're under arrest.

Get down.

Open up that hatch.

Now put your hands back up on the plane.

Spread them.

Hold it right there. Don't make a move.

The information was correct.

Just as I thought.

You know what to do now.

Make it clean.

Absolutely clean.

Done.

Everything all right?

Of course.

I hope so, Louie.

I really wouldn't want anything to interfere with our relationship.

After all these years, Sid, don't you trust my capabilities? It's not a matter

of trust, Louie.

We have a lot riding on this deal.

Relax. Sid, everything is going according to plan.

Well, for your sake, it better be.

Don't worry.

Peking, Peking, come in.

Peking here, over. Anything happening there?

Nothing much shaking here, boss.

A Chinese woman humped Rosen, then got a call that was too short to trace, over.

Let's... It's raining.

I wonder why they made those shipments in that private plane.

Well, that was a strange one.

They change a shipment while you're on delivery.

To what?

Who knows?

When you've been there as long as I have, you expect phallus.

Oh, come on. Hurry up and get out of this clothes.

Is there a phone here?

Are you all right?

Yeah, I'm fine. I just got a little phone call.

Oh.

No, it's good.

So, how's my favorite cop?

All right. Get that information for me?

No, my informant isn't here today, but... I need that information.

I said he wasn't here.

You can trust him.

Oh yeah.

I love it.

Ah!

This is Captain Parker.

Got a call for me?

Uh, yeah, I got the number.

Hiya,

Nancy. You called?

Calm down. Calm down.

Tell me what happened.

No,

no, no, no.

I don't want you to drive. You take a cab there. I'll meet you there.

Son of a bitch!

Are you ready?

Yeah.

That's him.

Lieutenant Mike Shaw.

Are you sure, Captain?

I'm sure.

Looks like he OD'd.

What?

No way, not Mike.

The facts don't lie.

He's got tracks on both arms.

The autopsy will probably show that he's been a heavy user for a long time.

My guess is that the girl that we brought him in with came upon some bad

How'd you get the call?

Phone tip.

No. Give me a minute.

Harry?

Harry, are you all right?

Oh, yeah.

I was just thinking about Mike and I and Nam.

Meeting up later at the police academy.

All the jobs we've done together.

You know, it hasn't been easy being Mike's wife.

All the undercover assignments, never knowing what he was doing.

We haven't had that great a marriage the last couple of years, but... I never

expected anything like this to happen.

Harry, what was he working for?

Why did he have to die?

I don't know.

They say we'll never prove he was murdered.

Damn it, we both know he never did any drugs.

Would you like me to make the funeral arrangements?

Oh, no, I'm fine, really. I'll just go home and call you later.

Find out what happened.

I don't care what you think, Harmon. The leak has to be at your end. Don't give

me that crap.

I know this is a joint operation between customs and the PD.

Bullshit!

Publicity for the department is the least of my concern.

Why wasn't I told Mike Shaw was made undercover man at Wong's Imports? Calm

down, Harry.

Customs asked for him. I should have been told!

Would it have made a difference?

I guess not.

Peking here.

Yeah, this is Wells, boss.

I ran a check on a Chinese woman. Her name's Lily Chang.

She left for a little over an hour, and I had enough time to put the bugs in her

house. The whole house is hot.

You want to stay with her?

Over.

That's a roger, Charlie.

How's the rookie doing?

She's a real pro, boss.

Hello? Listen, I could really use some more stuff.

Do you have the money?

No, I don't.

Well, why don't you come over to my house?

Okay, I'll be right over.

Okay, bye -bye.

It looks like we finally might be getting a visitor.

Maybe something will finally start happening.

Look, stewardess.

She must be the caller we just tapped.

She sure made it from the airport in record time.

Want me to call it in?

Might be a good idea.

Oh, Lily, I'm really sorry to bother you like this. It's fine.

Go ahead.

Take it.

Thanks. I needed that.

There's plenty more where that came from.

Yeah, but you know I can't afford it.

Yes, you can.

All you have to do is bring in a certain package for me.

What sort of package?

There's a mate to this vase.

And I want it.

Lily, he'll be scared.

Believe me, there's no reason to be.

Is that all I have to do?

For right now.

You want some more, don't you?

Hello? Hello, this is Parker.

Am I calling at a bad time?

Why don't you come over?

Thanks, but I'm on duty.

Hey, why don't I call you later?

And, uh, look, be sure you get that information the chief's starting to get

my back.

Okay. Bye.

Okay.

Thank you.

Chief Cook here.

Captain Parker, yes, he's right here.

Parker here.

Oh, hello, Nancy.

Yeah, I understand.

11 o 'clock?

All right, I'll be there.

Goodbye, Nancy.

Lieutenant Shadlock?

Yes, sir.

Decided to have him cremated.

Is that what Mike wanted?

Yes, sir, it is.

Jeff? I need to check your phone equipment. We've been having some

the neighborhood.

Well, there's nothing wrong with my line.

Oh, well, look, it's just routine. It'll take a few minutes tops.

Oh, are you sure?

I promise. Five, ten minutes tops.

Okay, all right. Come on in. The phone's upstairs.

Well,

come on. Follow me.

Okay, the phone's right here. Could you kind of make it quick, please? Sure.

Thanks. Mm -hmm.

Are you done yet? I mean, like, I'm late for work. I'm really kind of dragging

this morning.

Hey, relax.

Come on, just calm down.

Look, I've got something that might help you out.

Um, I'm not going to be able to pay you for any of this. I mean, I'm really

strapped for cash.

Um, thanks for sharing.

No problem.

But whoever said anything about paying?

I'm sure we can work something out.

Maybe.

Let's bulge this.

So much more personal than cash.

I haven't done pictures yet.

I want it.

Apology accepted.

Job comes first, right?

Yeah. My wife could never understand it.

That's why we broke up.

So what do we do now?

Sit tight and wait for the Chang woman to make contact.

Do you want me to call it in?

Yeah.

That's a roger. Keep us posted.

They're sitting on the stewards.

Shouldn't we inform customs?

I think we should go this one alone.

She was quiet in there.

I wonder what she's doing.

Who knows?

Charlie, can I tell you something?

What?

I, um, found myself getting turned on listening to you make love to her.

Did you hear what I said?

I heard.

Well, what do you have to say about it?

I'd say we could get into a lot of trouble.

Why?

Because I'd be worrying about you when I should.

How do you feel about children?

I love kids.

Hello, Sandy?

This is Lily.

Remember the favor I asked you to do for me?

Well, I'd like it done tomorrow.

I want you to come over here and pick up a package.

You are to deliver this package to Wong Imports.

The man there will exchange that package for another package.

Take the package on board the plane with you. Do not put it through baggage.

Is this clear?

How do I know he's the right guy?

He'll use the code word China, and you are to respond by saying Silk.

Do you understand?

Silk?

Yes, I'm sure. Is that all?

No. One more thing.

Before the man will release this package, you have to fuck him.

What? It's the only way he'll do business.

Don't worry, though.

I'll make it up to you.

It'll be worth it.

I promise.

It's me.

Oh, thank God. I was beginning to worry.

A woman will come by tomorrow with a package.

You are to exchange this package with the one in your possession.

You say China, and she'll identify herself by saying silk.

You know, this better work, Louie.

Our buyer's paying $3 million for this vase.

Don't worry about it. I've taken care of everything.

Who is this woman, anyway?

She's a stewardess friend of mine.

I'll be there anywhere to conclude the transaction and make sure there are no

follow -ups.

Great idea, Lily.

You should be here.

We are partners in this all the way.

Oh, hi.

Police. You're under arrest.

Oh, you've got to be kidding.

I'm afraid so, babe.

That's for me?

Fine.

Here's yours.

For anything else?

Still in the room with the stewardess.

Should I move in? Over.

Chief this is Wells the Chang woman hasn't showed Roger

hanging in there

Oh.

See, this is well. Something's wrong. I'm going in there.

Hold it, asshole.

You're under arrest.

What?

Drop that piece. You're under arrest.

Listen, what the hell's going on here?

I'm Ray Harmon, United States Customs.

Well, I'm Mandy Walker, LAPD.

You know about this? Put that thing away, will you?

Fortune cookies.

Protect you.

Harry?

Are you as happy as I am, Harry?

I have everything I want now.

Thank you.

Oh, yes.

Yes. Oh yes, now.

I like some.

Thank you, Harry. You're so sweet.

Why did Mike have to die?

No one was supposed to get hurt. Those were my plans.

Life is a game, my love, and there aren't any rules.

Except winning.

And we won.

We're rich, Harry. We could have anything that we could possibly want.

Oh, Harry, you didn't.

I ought to beat you to it, Lily.

After you killed Mike, I wanted to guarantee that I wouldn't be next.

It wasn't in my plan, Harry.

Gee, Lily.

I'm really sorry.

I thought you'd given me a better ending.

Are you sure we won't get stopped?

Who's going to stop a grieving widow traveling with her husband's ashes?

Chief

of

police, please.

Cook here. They're leaving on flight 12, Taiwan Airlines.

Nice job, Susie.

You're the best I've got.
