On a typical sunny day in June,

the high school class
of 2012 had just graduated,

and their futures
looked brighter than ever.

to a series of events

that would shake
this community to its core.

The unexplained disappearance
of four local teenagers

would spark a massive search
across the region,

eventually leading

found at the scene would provide

but sadly failed to reveal

an official copy

of the memory card
found in Jake's camera,

and have assembled the footage
in the exact timeline of events

that occurred leading up to
their mysterious disappearance.

a dark and violent history

to the land
where the teens were last seen,

and careful analysis of the
footage has revealed evidence

of a paranormal entity present

amongst the teens
the night they went missing.

typical missing person's case.

You had four very popular,
intelligent young men

with promising futures,
and they just disappeared.

here in the Southland

for the four missing high school
students from Malibu.

They were last seen
getting into a white van

at the Saddle Peak Lodge

Police are asking
that if anyone out there

has any information at all about
these four missing teens,

Sheriff's Department.

were reported missing.

And still, hope remains here
in Malibu for their safe return.

investigators are continuing

to sift through clues as to

there was a huge break in

Police arrived on the scene
early this morning

after a local resident reported
that was parked at the end

of this secluded dirt road
here in Malibu Canyon.

Authorities say the resident,
who lives less than a mile away,

was out searching
for his lost dog

when he stumbled upon
the abandoned vehicle.

Coincidentally,
the property behind me,

which spans over 1,400 acres,

is actually owned by the family

of one of the missing teens,
Jake Torrance.

Moments ago,
Mr. and Mrs. Torrance

arrived here on the scene

to help assist authorities

with the search of the property.

our Malibu/Lost Hills station
received

a call from a resident

informing us
of the van's location.

and he believed
that he had found

what we estimate

to be a six-hour hike
into the mountains.

This massive estate
spans 1,422 acres

and is bordered
by nearly 13 square miles

of national forest.

For thousands of years,
these lands along the coast

were used as hunting
and fishing grounds

by the Native American tribes
in the region.

This particular area of land

held great
spiritual significance

for the local shaman.

It was used as both a place

for performing sacred rituals,

and as a mass
burial ground for their people.

In 1902, the local tribes were
driven out by wealth and greed

when much of the area
was forcibly annexed

from them under the Dawes Act

and sold to white settlers.

and the great-great-grandfather
