While I monitored
the investigation

into the horrific murders

of the University of Idaho
students,

I did not imagine
the investigation

would lead to the Commonwealth
of Pennsylvania.

In the early-morning hours
of Friday, December 30th,

warrants were executed
at the location.

Mr. Kohberger was
then turned over

to the Monroe County Prison,

where he has remained
in their custody since.

- The families of the victims
might have found a little bit

of comfort in knowing the
person who had allegedly come

for their children at night
was apprehended in the dark,

when he was most vulnerable.

- The tactical team
burst in to arrest

the Idaho murder suspect.

He was in pajamas
and latex gloves,

stuffing trash
into Ziploc bags.

- They went in there
like a SWAT team,

kicking open the door.

They had a helicopter
above the home.

- They watched his ass
like a fucking hawk.

And then they went in
for the big kill, bitch.

- How they got
Bryan Kohberger,

I am still wondering.

- It almost seems
like he did this

as some sort of experiment.

- I don't think
he was by himself.

I have heard this a lot.

- You don't listen to
the mainstream media.

And you got to be careful
who your sources are.

You want to know the truth,

you got to go find it
yourself.

- After 19,000 tips
in a quadruple-murder case

that drew
nationwide attention...

- Last night, detectives
arrested 28-year-old

Bryan Christopher Kohberger.

- The 28-year-old is
a PhD criminology student

at Washington State
University,

just a 10-minute drive
to the Idaho campus.

- There he is, right
there in custody.

[grunts]

- It's been several hours.

This is fresh and
new information.

And it's shocking.

The reason why
it's so shocking, guys,

is because he had a background
in criminology.

He studied the mind
of criminals.

Just think about
that for a second.

- He's a PhD student studying
criminology,

studying
how to get away with murder.

- The alleged killer is
also a true-crime obsessive.

I mean, you have to
be in order to devote

your life to studying
criminology, right?

It just blew people's minds,
you know?

crime like this?

And then come to find out,
it's this criminology guy.

He seems so smart.

- The fact that
they tracked him

down in Pennsylvania,
that means that someone

was on top of their job.

Last night, in conjunction

with the Pennsylvania
State Police,

Federal Bureau
of Investigation,

detectives arrested 28-year-old
Bryan Christopher Kohberger

in Albrightsville,
Pennsylvania.

I recognize the frustration

with the lack of information
that's been released.

However, providing any details
in this criminal investigation

might have tainted the
upcoming criminal prosecution

or alerted the suspect
of our progress.

However, I do want to thank our
media partners for the help.

You kept this in the news.

You helped us with tips.
You kept things going.

And we truly appreciate that.

And you are the product
of those 19,000 tips

that we received, which
is an impressive number.

My name's Bill Thompson.

I'm the Latah County
Prosecutor.

of this investigation.

the person who's been charged

with these offenses.

Please get that
information out there.

Please ask the public,

anyone who knows about this
individual

to come forward to help
the investigators

understand what
happened and why.

public has already played

working to their advantage.

a fine line

Bryan Kohberger's home.

As you see behind me,
all the yellow tape--

the crime scene tape
that was here yesterday

has been removed.

We're following this case.

We're going to be out here
hitting the pavement.

And we're gonna be
finding out as much as we can

about Bryan Kohberger.

- Authorities
have not disclosed a motive

or if he had a connection
to the students.

But we are learning more

about just who
Bryan Kohberger is.

- This case, people
want to know more

because of this mysteriousness
of, why did he do this?

Were they targeted, and,
like, why were they targeted?

And all these things.

So people want to know as
much information as possible.

And I provide this to them.

And TikTok is so different
than other platforms

because you get it
all in 30 seconds.

We're living
in a generation now where

we have short attention spans.

To watch something
on the news,

you might have to sit
through five minutes.

TikTok, it's like, boom,

in 30 seconds, I just
told you everything.

Bryan Kohberger was
studying for his PhD

in criminal justice at
Washington State University.

Before coming to Wazzu, he was
taught by a famous professor

named Dr. Katherine Ramsland

at DeSales University
of Pennsylvania.

She is the author
that published

"How to Catch a Killer"
and "The Mind of a Murderer."

And I remember a few hours
after he was arrested,

on Reddit, the survey
that he had created.

- In a post that was
removed on Reddit,

Bryan Kohberger
sought participation

in a research project...

- That seeks to
understand how emotions

and psychological traits
influence decision making

when committing a crime.

And this was back in April
that he made this public post.

- He really wanted to
know how people felt

when they were committing
a crime.

And it just didn't
feel scientific.

It felt personal.

It felt like he
was trying to live

vicariously through these
other people's stories.

- How relevant or
irrelevant that is

is still a big question.

You cannot suddenly
think that somebody

is a suspect because
they're fascinated by crime,

because that would mean

that every single web sleuth
out there,

every person consuming
true crime,

every student of criminology,
every attorney,

every journalist,
every investigator

has the potential
of being a criminal.

[cell phone rings]

- The following
is an interview

with someone who used to be
friends with Bryan Kohberger.

They went to high school
together.

- He liked to,
like, analyze why

people have certain emotions.

He didn't always understand

why people would react
to things

the way that they do, almost
like he didn't understand

human emotion properly.

I know for a time he struggled
with something

that he called
visual migraines.

- So everyone's favorite creep

had an old
social-media account

talking about his visual snow

and how he has no empathy
and losing his mind.

- In his digital footprints,
they said,

even though these
were written years ago,

not being able to feel
emotions

and observing his own life
as if it were a video game.

He said, "Whatever
I want with little remorse."

- It was such a strange detail.

And if it's true,
it really gives...

unique insight
into how his mind works.

- They apparently found
this guy across the country,

across the literal country
in Pennsylvania.

How the fuck did he get all
the way across the country?

- The public defender
representing Kohberger

in the extradition says about
a month after the murders,

his client went on
a road trip home

to Pennsylvania
with his father

that was planned at
the beginning of the semester.

They were in a white
Hyundai Elantra.

It's the same make and model
of the vehicle spotted

near the scene of the murders.

- "'Idaho murder
suspect pulled over

'twice on cross-country
race home

with dad,' lawyer claims."

I believe once for speeding

and once for following
too closely

to a car in front of them.

- Hello.
- How you doing?

- How y'all doing today?

- Do you think it was
a coinkydink that they

were stopped twice
in Indiana?

- Oh, okay.

- At that point, I believe
Bryan Kohberger thought,

whoa, I am being looked at.

There's no way in the world

this was just some
sort of fortuitous,

you know, pulling me over.

- I 100% agree with you.

I think he looks like he has
been caught in this photo.

This is just my opinion.

But I think it looks like he
is about to crap his pants.

- They said he was
following too close.

Now, that's usually something
that's very nebulous

that can be used
for an officer to say,

this is why we're pulling
you over.

They were able to get
close and identify them.

And they gave their story.

And they let them move on.

- There's this
thing called NCIC.

It connects all
the police departments--

a computer system, and you can
put a warrant in there.

And every police
department knows

the person is wanted, okay?

So I assume they did not have
a warrant for his arrest yet.

Maybe they were
waiting for something,

like the DNA to come back.

And when the DNA came back,

that's when they hit
the house.

- Fox News is reporting that
an FBI surveillance team

were tracking Kohberger
on his cross-country road trip

from Washington State
to Pennsylvania.

And they asked the Indiana
police to pull him over.

And the reasoning
was because they were

seeking images of his hands.

When you zoom in,
this is what you get.

You can see what
appears to be maybe some cuts

around his knuckle
and then on his wrist.

I turned the brightness all
the way down on this photo,

and you can see
it a lot better.

- When I first saw the film, it
looked like there was a cut--

a very significant
cut on his hand.

And so I kept looking at,
where was that first scene,

that first footage?

And I tell you what, there is
no footage without that cut.

None.

- This is State of Idaho
versus Bryan C. Kohberger.

Mr. Kohberger is
present in court.

He's in custody.

He's appearing with his
attorney, Ms. Taylor.

- Let's talk about a lady
by the name of Anne Taylor.

- The whole Internet is saying
that the prosecutor is not

nearly as qualified
as Anne Taylor.

- Anne Taylor used to
work for his office.

You didn't know that, did you?

Because nobody
vetted Anne Taylor.

[laughs]

Anne Taylor used to work

for the Latah County
Prosecutor's Office years ago.

She's a smart
lawyer, great person.

I have no problems with her.

Wouldn't you
want the best lawyer

if you were sitting in jail?

Even though it's a public
defender, she's a good lawyer.

She'll do a good job.

- So, with that,
then, Mr. Kohberger,

you will be remanded
in custody and remain

in custody on the "no bail,"
pending further proceedings

in this matter.

- Oh, my God.
So think about this.

Anne Taylor is
going to know all

of the tricks on how
the prosecutor

already lawyers, right?

So she might be
the only one that

could get Bryan Kohberger off.

If there is anybody that can
do it, it'll be Anne Taylor.

- A judge in Moscow, Idaho,

has just dealt a huge, huge
blow to the general public.

- The judge who will be
hearing this case in Idaho

has placed a gag order on any
person involved with the case.

- So what's that mean?

- You need to shut
the [no audio] up.

- Basically, it's
ordering investigators,

law enforcement personnel,
attorneys and agents

are prohibited from making
extrajudicial statements,

written or oral,
concerning the case.

They are not allowed
to talk to reporters.

- The gag order
is so frustrating.

- It sucks.
I hate gag orders.

- And it's actually crazy,

because you never
see a gag order.

When do we hear about that?

- And the judge did say,
don't call it a gag order.

- It's not called that.

- That's offensive.

- So I will appreciate
not using that term.

- That's cool.
Call it whatever you want.

But it hurts everyone.

- I don't know, you guys.

This is getting weirder
and weirder by the minute.

- I thought the gag order
was appropriate.

Keeping the case on a gag order
prevents the suspect

from getting an unfair trial.

- I can't find any
case in this modern era

where a defendant got off

because the Internet or media
has been talking about a case.

I think if you're gonna
be open and transparent

and ask the public for help...

- Help us.
- Help.

- Help us solve this case.

- We should have the
right to know everything

going through the process.

So it's almost like, this
is your reward for helping.

You get nothing.

- I think transparency,
access to information,

access to the evidence, people
being able to see and hear

what is being said
helps justice.

The fact that people in social
media are gonna speculate,

they're gonna speculate more
in the absence of facts.

- Y'all, Bryan goes to court.
The judge issues a gag order.

And they release the PCA,
all in the same goddamn day.

- Breaking news--

the affidavit was just
released to the public.

It's basically going to
summarize why they believe

that he is
the suspect responsible

and how it links him to this.

Now, these details
are very disturbing,

and they're surfacing quickly.

- The probable-cause affidavit

was like none
that I've ever written

and none that I've ever read.

It was so long.

- There's a lot.

- It was so detailed.

- People want answers.
People want details.

- We'll give you an
inside look into why

Kohberger is being
charged on four counts

of first-degree murder.

For them to come out,
make an arrest,

and show that that is what
he's being charged of,

they have to have some
pretty good, solid evidence.

- The good guys
catch the bad guy,

they're guilty and
in jail, right?

They committed the crime,
because the cops caught 'em.

We make mistakes.

So do doctors, so...

- I really do feel there's
something much bigger

going on here.

I feel like a lot
is being covered up.

- We are going
to literally dig

through this entire affidavit.

- The affidavit
talked about 12 times

that his phone had pinged
near the general location

of 1122 King Road.

- So let's talk
about cell phones.

- So, in the affidavit, they
talk about the phone data--

phone calls, text messages,

and real-time location

of a cell phone
within a few meters.

That is a very small area.

- The night of the murders,
there was a period of time

where he had turned
the cell phone off

'cause it stopped responding
to the towers.

But when it was on,

it was basically catching him
leaving from Pullman heading

towards Moscow,
then again leaving Moscow

heading back towards Pullman
once everything was done.

- That's how close
he was to a bitch.

How does this happen?

- Washington State University
cameras catch that car

leaving campus at 2:44 a.m.

His cell phone pings also
show him leaving his house.

He turns his phone off.

- They start to discuss
sightings of a white sedan.

They label it as "suspect
vehicle number one."

I want to note that it is seen
without a front license plate

at 3:26 and 3:28 a.m.
on Styner Ave, okay?

So they're implying they saw
the same vehicle on King Road

at 3:29 a.m.

Here's my problem.

How do you go from Styner Ave
to King Road in one minute?

My point is,
I think we're dealing

with two different
white sedans here.

- They can't both
be Bryan Kohberger.

- But then why would the cops
put that in the affidavit

like that to create
this weird narrative

that nobody can grasp

because it makes
no fucking sense?

- So on November 13th,
in the middle of the night,

they see video
footage of Hyundai Elantra

pinging around
the King Road residence.

- A white Elantra with
no front license plate

is seen driving by the
neighbor's Ring Cam

three times, fourth
time at 4:04 a.m.

- They claim suspect
vehicle number one

is seen on King Road
at 3:29 a.m.

It makes three passes past
the King Road residence.

And then it is seen
exiting the area.

They claim that that
same vehicle enters

King Road again at 4:04 a.m.

And then it's seen going
back down Queen towards King,

doing a three-point turn
again, trying to park.

They don't really know.

And the last time this
vehicle is spotted

is seen speeding
away at 4:20 a.m.

Whew!

- Now, at 4:48 a.m., the phone
returns to the network.

The phone continues to
move south of Moscow

down in kind of a U-shape form
back to Pullman, Washington.

- They then use cameras

to basically track the car
all the way back to Pullman.

- The affidavit says that
suspect vehicle number one

went straight up
this road and got

caught on every single
camera on the way back.

- 5:30 a.m., the
phone is utilizing

cell towers for Pullman,

consistent
with where he lives.

Now, what's troubling is that
he didn't stay in Pullman.

- Bryan's cell phone was
tracked back to the house

after the murders.

Between 9:12 and 9:21 a.m.,

the phone was near
the house again.

And this was on November 13th.

- Oh, my God.

After reading the affidavit
a million fucking times,

I think I know why Bryan went

back to the house
at 9:00-something

the next morning.

He had to have realized,

where the fuck is the holster

that I was holding
my weapon in?

The knife sheath.

* *

- Bryan Kohberger, he
thought he could get away

with the perfect crime.

But it turns out
he left a part

of the murder weapon behind.

The officer that wrote
the affidavit said...

- The athleticism that it took

to hold these victims down

and stab them mercilessly,

I think the sheath dislodged

without him even being
aware of it.

Remember, the adrenaline,
the hyperfocus

that he would have had,

even I'll call
it tunnel vision.

I think it was only when
he got into his vehicle

that he realized,

oh, my gosh,
where is that sheath?

- Supposedly, it's a Kabar.
That's what the affidavit said.

- He got it on Amazon.

But what I thought was really
interesting is, you know,

here, basically, I just
have the sheath itself.

And it says, "Kabar" and
"United States Marine Corps."

I mean, the truth is
it is a huge knife.

- To draw a knife,
especially a Kabar knife,

out of this sheath--
it fits in there tight.

This isn't loosey-goosey.

And if you snap it, it
takes a lot of force

to unsnap that
and draw that out.

And that's why I believe we
have the friction...

pull off the skin cells

from his fingers...

and not only skin cells but
also the oils and other parts,

and lodge onto that snap.

- Agents in Pennsylvania

do a trash pull
at the parents' house.

Trash is abandoned property.
You don't need a warrant.

They get a DNA sample
from the dad.

They get a sample that's this
much of a match to the DNA

that was found on the sheath.

- So guilty!

He left the sheath of
the knife on the bed.

And the DNA from
the sheath matched

garbage outside of his house.

Oh, my God!

- The discovery of
that knife sheath

is the only reason, really,

that Bryan Kohberger

sits right now accused.

- CBS News legal analyst,
Rikki Klieman,

says, if that link
is proved in court...

- The knife sheath
places him physically

in the house
at some point in time

but not necessarily
on the night of the killings.

- First responders
on the scene said

it was the most gruesome scene
they have ever witnessed.

It was very messy.

Even blood was dripping down
the outside of the house.

So there must have been
DNA everywhere, right?

But in two bedrooms
full of carnage,

they only found one piece of
touch DNA on a movable object.

Nothing on the bodies.

- Why isn't there a ton more?

And a lot of people will say,
well, there is probably more.

We just don't have it.

I highly doubt it.

And that's all I'll say.
I just--I highly doubt it.

But the touch DNA...
[stammers]

That's even gonna be really
hard to hold up in court.

It just is.

- People talk about touch DNA
as if it's not DNA.

It's ridiculous.

that Bryan might walk.

That's my biggest

chance he's gonna walk,

'cause they don't have
anything

other than this, you know,
touch DNA

that's on a button
snap on a knife sheath

that, in my opinion, I think
he didn't even own

because he's a vegan

and he wouldn't own something
like that,

I don't understand
what else they have.

This is just my opinion.

- You know, we're talking
about the Internet.

And we're talking about
all the sleuths out there.

And everybody's got an opinion.

And everybody's building
their own cases.

When the case is solved,
someone's gonna say,

I was right, and, I was right,
and, you were wrong.

The police work
is a profession.

We spend a lot of time,
a lot of training.

All these people think
they can do our job.

So this sheath, right?

I would assume there would
have been more DNA on the item

than just one small
molecule of DNA

left on the button
of the sheath.

But my questions
always came down

to whether Bryan Kohberger
intentionally

left the sheath
at the residence

to taunt law enforcement.

- Everyone described Kohberger

as being really smart, as
being a brilliant student.

And everything about this
crime was just sloppy.

And this is what he studies.

And so it worries me that
maybe he really is smart

and this is all part
of the plan.

- Was it there because he
accidentally dropped it,

or did he
intentionally leave it?

- I've waited to speak on
this sheath of a knife

being left at the crime scene.

Now, the reason I held
off on talking about this

is because an
account commenting

during the investigation
mentioned the sheath first.

- Pappa Rodgers posted
a lot of things.

- Most people thought
this Pappa Rodgers

was this pompous jerk...

- That had a lot
of inside intel.

- But the one that
stuck out to everybody

is he said it's a
fixed-blade knife.

And from that, Pappa Rodgers
posted that he thought

they had the knife sheath.

And that was before it became
public knowledge that they

have the knife sheath.

- Bryan Kohberger's arrested
on December 30th.

And we never hear from
Pappa Rodgers again.

- His account went down
completely after the arrest.

Crickets.

- So if he was
under some alias--

And, oh, my God,
the profile picture...

looks exactly like Kohberger.

- With him in that hat and
that side of his face, that--

And he's had that
from the beginning.

- But why would he leave
a digital footprint

that blatant and obvious?

That's what I say, like, yeah,
it kind of looks like him.

Like, I see what you're
saying, but--

- Other criminals have done
this in the past,

where they use social media to
kind of throw off the people

looking into the case.

It does happen.

- Do you understand
the implication?

- He was watching
all of our stuff.

- We're down there
with boots on the ground.

He could have been
getting information from us

that helped him.

And that's not what
I'd like to do.

- Bryan Kohberger today
made his second appearance

in an Idaho courtroom.

- Are you waiving your right to
a speedy preliminary hearing?

- Yes.

- The preliminary hearing
is now set for June 26th

to give his defense team
more time to prepare.

- Berger Boy is waiving his
right to a speedy trial.

And he will not have
to be seen

for his preliminary hearing
until June.

June?

- A judge will decide
at the June hearing

if there is enough evidence
for the case to move forward.

In the meantime,
Kohberger remains

behind bars without bail.

- Now that they have
the evidence from his car

and his computer
and his apartment,

I'm pretty sure they have
an airtight case, allegedly.

Keep in mind that less
than 5% of criminal cases

actually go to trial.

Most people plead out.

However, this guy
is a narcissist

and a sadist, allegedly.

And he is enjoying
the spotlight right now.

So I think he could push it
to trial,

even though it's against his
best interests, allegedly,

because he wants to squeeze as
much pain out of the survivors

and the victims' family as
humanly possible,

allegedly.

- Let's see.

One of the roommates
said that at 4:00 a.m.,

she heard what sounded like
Kaylee playing with her dog.

And then she thought she
heard her say something

like, "There's someone here."

She did at that time
look out of her door.

But she didn't see anybody.

She then looked out
of her door again

when she heard what sounded
like a male voice saying,

"It's okay.
I'm going to help you."

- Now, at 4:17 a.m.,
a security camera

picked up distorted audio
of what sounded like voices

or a whimper followed
by a loud thud.

A dog can also be heard
barking on this footage.

And note that this
camera was less than 50 feet

from Xana's bedroom wall.

- Then the roommate opened
her door for a third time

after she heard crying.

And she saw a figure
clad in black clothing

with a mask covering
the person's mouth and nose

walking towards her.

- She froze in shock.

And this person
walked past her

and towards the sliding door.

- People accepted that both
roommates had been asleep

at the time of the murders

and that they probably
had heard nothing

and that that was why.

And as soon as these
things became public,

people went after her hard.

- Everyone's got a lot of
questions about the roommates,

and rightfully so.

Even when we thought they were
living on the bottom floor,

the question was, why
were they not attacked?

- That's what bothered me,

because they were in the
home, left untouched.

You told us that they were
sleeping, to begin with,

on the first floor.

They came out and said that.

Why lie about that?

And then there was a lot that
I think is missing, right?

Which, in my opinion, the
rest of those eight hours.

- That gap in
between calling 911.

[telephone ringing]

Locking herself in her room,
totally understandable.

But not calling 911 for hours?

- Maybe her phone
wasn't in her room.

Maybe the suspect
threatened her.

Maybe she fainted
and knocked herself out.

- For those of you guys who
are saying I'm victim blaming,

this, that, and the third,

look, I need you to use both
sides of your brains here.

Her story doesn't add up.

- It has come out now that
these girls were texting

with each other during the
murders, which looks really,

really, really, really bad.

- Why in the affidavit
did it say

that their texts
show what times

the murders started and ended?

What the fuck was
on their phones?

What were their text messages?

What the hell was
on their fucking phones?

- We're only here
for a noise complaint.

Come to the damn door.

Who lives here?

- Everyone wants to know

what were the roommates
texting about,

and why did they take so long
to call the cops?

Back in December, I spoke
with a mother named Kim,

who claimed that her daughter
and a group of students

were privy to the murders
before the police.

But no one really believes
her story because she

has remained anonymous.

I've been in touch with Kim.

And, luckily, I convinced her
to meet up with me in person

and answer some questions.

I'm going to Idaho to meet
this woman face-to-face.

Maybe if other moms
had come forward

and said the same thing,

then people wouldn't think
she's lying.

But all we have is just Kim.

I feel like once I see her,

I will know
and have a better idea of,

okay, is she telling the truth
or not?

I'm pretty good at telling
people's, like, vibe

just from my gut instincts.

- Yeah, it's on autofocus,
but it's--

- Oh, what I do is,
I do, like--

So today I'm going
to be meeting with Kim.

And this is the first time that
she will be seen on camera.

- Where do you want me to sit?
- Right here.

- Okay.
- And I'm just going to...

You're brave for coming
forward, and no other--

- I don't think it's brave.
I think I'm just a mom.

And here's the other thing.
My kids are alive.

There's four children
who aren't.

- To recap,
your daughter claims

that in the hours before
the police were called,

she and a group
of other students

were in a Snapchat group

is relevant to the case.

Maybe the FBI know the reason
why the roommates

didn't immediately call

reading the affidavit
until I finally started

to actually understand
parts of it.

- I've read the affidavit
probably more times

than what
I would have liked to.

- Every time I reread it,
I see something kind of new.

- In most
probable-cause affidavits,

you don't need all that detail,

because you don't
want to give the public

all this information.

I would have put the sheath,
and I would have put the DNA.

But I wouldn't have put

all that other information
in there,

which now has caused sleuths
to put all this

"evidence" out there
to social media,

to millions and millions
of viewers

and just really caused
so much doubt.

- There was so much
speculation in this case,

because there wasn't a great
deal of DNA evidence,

given the nature
of the crime scene.

They really needed to present
a deeper, stronger case

with other kind of evidence
to justify that arrest.

- It was a lot of information
to release in the affidavit.

And it did lead to a lot of
harassment of the survivors.

But, I mean,

that's how the criminal justice
system works, right?

These are public
prosecutorial findings.

They had to release
this information

at some point in order
to justify the arrest.

- But, please, let me remind
you, this is not a "CSI" show.

This is not
a Netflix documentary.

This is real life.

In real life,
the professionals,

such as the FBI, which
are involved, by the way--

62 agents, to be exact,
they just beefed it up.

They're professionals.
There are processes.

- But...

on the other aspect,

you are gonna get mad
about social media

going into a frenzy,
but you're fueling it.

still on her phone on TikTok

at 4:12 a.m.

At 4:20 a.m., the fucking
car is seen speeding away.

And he killed four people
in that short of time?

psycho, or he had help.

think there's

Kohberger's defense
just announced

that one of the roommates
has evidence

that could exonerate Bryan.

- Newly unveiled
court filings assert

that a surviving housemate
has exculpatory evidence.

She allegedly heard
or saw something

that could clear Kohberger.

- Bryan Kohberger's
attorneys argue

that the housemate's testimony
is key to the trial

and could clear
the murder charges

levied against
their client, Bryan.

- The two surviving roommates,

they have
some explaining to do.

She was there.

that very few people have.

arrested--apprehended

about sticking to,

it was one person
that did this,

there was nobody else involved,

he did it all alone?

Like, how could you say
that it was just him?

were found within the home.

And the other one
was found outside.
