- I feel lately I have been quite down.

Working in Hong Kong, there's so much stress.

There's just so much constant pressure
and everything and sometimes it just gets me down.

I don't know.
Have you ever felt that way as well?

Or not really?

Well, yeah, Hong Kong is such
a cutthroat, competitive place.

Every time I'm in Hong Kong, I can't sleep well,

- like, literally, every night.
- I know, me too.

And when I go back to L.A.,
I sleep like a baby, right?

Because I feel like it's so competitive.

You feel like you constantly have to do something.

Constantly.

Otherwise, if you're not performing
then you get replaced or something.

- You get that, right?
- It’s exactly how I feel.

Right now, with my clients, they are always
keep pushing and pushing for more, right?

I feel like that's always the Hong Kong
mentality where you always have to be

performing at your best, doing your best,

and they kind of squeeze as much as they can from you.

And it's super stressful.

I know.

And so I don't know, it's really nice
to sometimes just get out here

and get away from the hustle and bustle
and just be in this moment.

Yeah, I think it's important sometimes, we're so busy.

Sometimes we forget to relax
and treat ourselves well.

There's something that I've been learning,

no matter how busy, the self-love
is kind of important.

But I rarely have it.

- I rarely take care of myself, which is so bad.
- No, it's very important.

And I think people always think that

physical health is so important,

but also mental health is such an important thing

that we need to worry about
and take care of. Right?

Are you feeling okay, though?

Because I can sense from your energy
that you're kind of down, low.

- I'm always super happy.
- But you’re always, yeah...

usually quite happy.

Yeah, I don't know, I feel that lately it's just been

weighing me down a lot and brings me back
to when I first moved to Hong Kong.

I don't know if many people know about this,

but when I first moved to Hong Kong,
I had a bit of depression.

- You? You are always so happy though.
- Yeah, ten years ago.

I feel, like, I've learned to kind of

go with emotion and be more positive
in the midst of all the business

and the hustle and bustle.

But for me, it's been really tough.

I think, when I first moved here,
I worked in the agency

- and it was really tough to...
- Oh, they work you to death...

Literally. I worked till 1 - 2 a.m. in the morning.

Almost every night and start over again.

It kind of drains you.

It's really draining. Yeah.

And I think, back then, I didn't really even
know who I was, who Tim was.

And I think in Hong Kong,
you really have to be very self-assured

in knowing who you are or else

people kind of can kind of just knock
you left, right and center.

I totally understand you,
because in Hong Kong, it's just

you always feel like, everybody is pushing you

- to do something, or sometimes, I even
- I know.

Feel ashamed to say it, because in
Hong Kong, you always have to be working.

But then, when you’re not doing anything at all,

you feel like you have to beat yourself up for it.

Asking, why am I sitting at home?

- I should be working and stuff like that.
- Exactly.

Having this is a FOMO Yeah, I definitely have FOMO.

I don't know what it is.

I feel it's the Hong Kong kind of
the speed or what not that we're moving in.

It's like whenever you're here you always
feel like you need to be doing something.

You're not doing something means

you're not moving with the city
or with the pace of the city.

Just like for us, even for us to decompress at home.

We don’t just kind of turn on the TV and sit there.
We always need something to do.

Yeah, It's that kind of pressure.

Yeah, exactly.

Do you ever feel that way? Do you?

Oh yeah. Are you kidding me?
I feel FOMO.

Even when sitting at home,

there are so many things that are happening.

Because I do entertainment,
events and all that stuff.

So there's always something happening and
you feel like you just can't sit at home.

Or even if you sit at home, you feel lonely.

So it's kind of just like that contradiction thing.

And I think lately, because of all
the work demands, it's been tough.

Especially because of getting a lot of pressure.

- Yeah.

In Hong Kong you just need
really good friends to stick by your side.

It's good that you have us as good friends,
even though we might have arguments

But then I want to know too, how do you find ways of

decompressing or kind of get out of that
negative headspace?

- Meditation. Yeah.
- You do meditation?

- No, you don't seem like you do meditation.

I've been learning a lot more. Wow.

- I just kind of talk it out with friends.
- Yeah.

I sleep a lot.

Drink a bit, party a bit.

And I feel every day is a fresh start.

I just feel gratitude.
I have gratitude over what we already have.

Feel lucky to have a lot of things.

Absolutely, I think a lot of the time
is having gratitude

and being grateful for what you have
and counting the blessings, right?

Yeah. I think a lot of time, being
in the Hong Kong culture, you're

kind of taught that there's
never such a thing as having enough.

You always want more.
Once you achieve something

- You want something else.
- Exactly.

That’s why I feel the city is driving people nuts

because once you get there, you think,

what to do next, and then you just keep adding it on.

Exactly.

It's just never ending.

- Yes. The whole the hustle culture.
- Yeah.

We're taught that,
you need to hustle and you need to do more,

make more money.
And it's never ending.

Yeah. Constantly hustling, damn it.

- Well, I think that's what we're all doing, right?

We’ll just find us, party together.

- I think partying is a good way to reduce stress.

Just to forget everything for a night,

it's especially difficult.

It was very emotional because

to the rest of the family?”.

To explain to her that this wasn't
what was happening, I told her

how much I would cherish her support.

I told mom, do you trust me to be

honest and good, you know, to the people around me,

to my family.

And she said,

“yes”.

It's just everybody is searching for love these days,

and it's so hard to find somebody

you really love and then to get
your family support as well.

Marriage is the ultimate symbol of acceptance.

And as society evolves and more people

accept the LGBTIQ, more importantly,

how can we express harmony

and diversity and embrace every sector of society?
