=Legend of The Female General=

=Episode 33=

Your Majesty,

Maningbu

is an envoy of Wutuo.

I suggest we

detain him

at the embassy

and write to the King of Wutuo,

stating his crimes.

His disposition rests solely

on the King of Wutuo's response.

Go.

Strip the He family

of their noble titles.

He Yuansheng

will be exiled to the border.

Marquis Wu'an.

Technically, you're from the He family.

Your family

disguised you as a son.

You've also committed

a capital crime.

Your Majesty,

He Yan never had

the right to choose.

She didn't mean to deceive

Your Majesty.

Your Majesty,

Commander Xiao is right.

Besides, Marquis Wu'an

is an exceptional talent

who has repeatedly

defeated Wutuo's armies

and defended the nation.

I implore Your Majesty's mercy.

But even so,

she wasn't entirely

ignorant about this matter.

Instead of behaving,

she chose to enlist.

Doesn't she know

this compounds her crimes?

Don't tell me

you joined the army

solely out of patriotism.

Not entirely.

Your Majesty.

One day,

I overheard my father

arranging a marriage for me.

So I fled home.

Meanwhile, becoming a great general

had always been my aspiration.

So I went straight to enlist

without hesitation.

Why did you enlist again

after you survived death?

Were you waiting for this day

to seek revenge?

Your Majesty,

she never intended that.

Let her speak for herself.

Your Majesty,

I do

resent their cruelty,

but after all,

they raised me for many years.

I'm no longer in debt

after what has happened to me.

I don't want revenge.

Besides,

what would revenge accomplish?

I only wanted

to reclaim my true identity.

That's why I rejoined the army.

If I hadn't

uncovered

the conspiracy

and decided

to seek justice for my deceased

fellow soldiers,

I would have remained

as He Yan of Yezhou Garrison,

who would

eventually die

as Female General He Yan of Wei.

Your Majesty,

He Yan's merits outweigh

her minor mistakes.

She defended our borders

and martial dignity

at the Fuyue Army.

At Yezhou Garrison,

she went around

to defend our territory.

It proves that

her military resolve has never wavered.

Her loyalty to Wei

remains steadfast.

Your Majesty,

given her unwavering loyalty to you

and her dedication

to serving Wei,

please show mercy.

Your Majesty,

Commander Xiao is right.

Marquis Wu'an

helped Your Majesty

purge corrupt officials

today in court.

Why not offset merits against faults

to demonstrate

your appreciation for talent

and your wisdom

in just rewards and punishments?

What do you say, my ministers?

Your Majesty,

I believe

that General Fengyun and Mr. Chu

make valid arguments.

Marquis Wu'an

is truly an exceptional general.

Now that the truth is revealed,

General He should be reinstated

to revive the Fuyue Army.

Moreover,

with the truth revealed,

I propose

rehabilitating the Xiao family

to stabilize military morale.

You've rushed

to say all the good things.

Rest assured.

I was merely jesting.

Of course,

I won't let my loyal ministers down.

Mr. Xiao,

I will draft an edict shortly

to rehabilitate the Xiao family and the Xiao Army.

Thank you, Your Majesty.

Marquis Wu'an,

you are no less capable than any man.

Resume your title as General Feihong.

I hope you

could uphold Wei's military honor,

guard our borders,

and protect our people.

Understood.

Thank you,

Your Majesty.

Chu Zhao,

you helped the generals

with Xu Jingfu's case.

You did a good job.

I hereby make you

Vice Director of the Secretariat.

Thank you, Your Majesty.

Let me go.

You can't arrest me.

Xu Jingfu's been thrown into prison,

and your property is confiscated.

Do you still think

you're the chancellor's daughter?

He used to

boss us around.

Meanwhile,

he conspired with enemies.

He deserves no chancellor title.

Nonsense.

My father will punish you.

Miss Xu,

if Mr. Chu hadn't been kind enough

to plead your case to His Majesty,

do you think

you'd still be bossing us around?

You would've been sent to a brothel.

Nonsense.

You...

Mr. Chu.

Mr. Chu, I apologize.

Please allow me

to visit the prison

To dine with General Feihong

and General Fengyun

would be the greatest honor.

The court assembly is about to start.

Let's hurry to the hall.

We're sending Maningbu away today.

Let's show him

the morale of us Wei officials.

I received

the alliance proposal of the King of Wutuo.

Since Wutuo shows such sincerity,

we won't

hold grudges against you.

I will discuss with my ministers

where to set up trade markets.

Meanwhile, profits

follow the agreed terms.

Wei takes 70 percent,

Wutuo 30.

You may

return assured, Envoy.

Thank you, Your Majesty.

Wutuo spared no expense

to save Maningbu.

His Majesty

did that to dampen

Wutuo's arrogance.

Courtesy before force.

As long as Wutuo doesn't invade,

our army and people can take a break.

Our people

can live peacefully.

But the Wutuo troops are cunning.

We mustn't relax

our military defenses.

Stay prepared for all changes.

Under war's shadow,

people always suffer the most.

If peace reigns,

I'd gladly retire.

But I intend to be a great general.

How about this?

I'll support you.
