lured into its commission. Where a
defendant has a previously existing

intent... The fact that when solicited
by a decoy he commits a crime does not

show entrapment.

Morris Hood was an honest jurist with no
propensity for bribery until your agent

lured him into it.

Oh, really?

The life and times of your squeaky clean
jurist.

If you could prove any of these prior
allegations, you'd have brought him to

trial. Evidentiary problems.

And this one is every bit as tainted. He
took the money, didn't he? Fifty

thousand bucks worth.

You came after him three times before he
took it, raising the ante each time. Or

are you going to deny that, too?

No. Then you violated his rights yet
again. You turned his arrest into a

spectacle. Well, what are we supposed to
do? Nominate him for sainthood or maybe

chief justice? Is that what you want?

But I do think he's suffered enough.

Let him retire from the bench with his
pension intact.

You want a dismissal. And you want him
off the bench.

You want to avoid the public
embarrassment of losing your showboat

court.

This serves both our ends, Stan.

And truthfully, I don't see any good
purpose to be met by sending a sad,

man like Morris Hood to prison.

People versus Dolores Kirby.

Mother -in -law allegedly harassed the
ex -wife.

divorce cases.

And where do we stand on the Cromwell
suit?

We've already gotten two out of the
three causes of action dismissed.

if we'd be interested in becoming that

Why? Well, it was conditional on merging
with them.

I'd think they'd have their pick of
every firm in L .A.

It was a real coup that they won us.

Did Mr. Lloyd perchance mention any
figures?

Purely speculatively, he threw out
something in the nature of $300 ,000 to

,000 per partner.

And you didn't think that was worth
putting before the partnership?

I felt certain I spoke for us all.

No offense, Leland, but if somebody
wants to hand me close to a half a

bucks, I don't want anyone speaking for
me but me. I'd have to agree with

Arnold.

I took it as an article of faith that
the firm of Mackenzie Brackman would

cut into being franchised.

to is having our opinions preempted,

The DA's office has agreed to dismiss

year. If you behave, I'll dismiss the
complaint at that time.

But... If you continue to make these
calls, I will find you guilty on the

presented to me today.

I'll slap you with a big fine, and I'll
make you spend a week in jail.

Now, I know you don't want that to

Let me offer you these observations,
Miss Perkins, in the hope that you learn

something from them.

I found your irresponsible rejection of
a city attorney's offer coupled with a

defense strategy that all but assured
conviction and compounded by your

inability to control your own client to
be shamefully unprofessional.

Please be so kind to tell your firm that
the next time they look to send

inexperienced attorneys out to cut their
teeth, that they stay away from my

courtroom.
