How many of you began to doubt God as I was telling you this story?

How many of you was wondering, "Well, why would God ask Abraham to do such a thing?"

2 Corinthians, right? 2 Corinthians, 3:17, that's the whole ballgame.

...just like it was in the Babylonian Empire

when these words were written, is jacked up.

We believe that God has commanded us to separate ourselves from other races.

Not because we hate the other races or because we feel we're better or worse,

but because we believe God intended...

We need to keep... at length,

for the right reasons.

...the kinds of kids that are called super-predators.

No conscience, no empathy.

We can talk about why they ended up that way... - Are you fed up

with special privileges given to Blacks?

Please, please, tell me...

So I had a talk with, with the coaches over there,

and they are so excited about having Trey,

well, the potential about having him come out.

I think it will be a solid place.

I mean, it's a full ride,

and they think that he can slide into the rotation this freshman year.

At the very least, he'll get a spot in the bullpen.

And Bethel's set to compete next year.

That's the religious college, right?

Yeah. I mean, I, I think there's some affiliation,

but it's not a vacation Bible school or anything.

They got a solid program.

Weren't you sitting here a year ago, talking about, what, the...

...power conferences recruiting him.

Yeah, that was when he was hitting

the mid 90's, though. This year we clocked him in

at 89, 90, 91. He slipped a little bit.

Too many sliders?

Are we here to talk pitch selection, Mansa?

No, Coach. - Okay.

It was brought to my attention that a student reported

some inappropriate conduct in the locker room

that we feel could violate code 17.3, which states,

"It is improper for faculty or employee of any rank

to engage in any type of sexual conduct or conversation

that causes a student or colleague

to feel intimidated, embarrassed, or uncomfortable.

Who did they, who did they report?

You, Coach.

Me?

What do you mean, me? They reported me for what?

Who reported... - Hey, I'm gonna need you to relax.

There's a fair procedure that we follow for matters like this.

I'm just alerting you that I have multiple students

telling me that you discussed sexual acts with them,

specifically which acts they should

or should not partake in before game day.

Come on! Come on! That is just athlete banter.

Mansa, that is just banter. That's all it is.

These are young men. I'm trying to connect with these guys.

In fact, it's our job to be there for them...

It's our job to protect them. That's it.

Look, I just wanted to give you a heads up

before there's any official proceedings.

Um... Mansa,

this is a, this is a big waste of your time in my opinion.

All right? These kids can be, they can be overdramatic,

they can be sensitive, and...

look, I'm all about the process, and I have...

I wanted to say a few words about our next sermon series.

We are gonna hear from people in this very room

as they share with us how God has delivered them from their loss.

But the first story you're gonna hear from

...and we need You.

Lord...

...we ask that You be with Terry tonight.

Be with Lori. With their beautiful kids.

We thank you, Lord...

...for Your continual grace,

and Your constant forgiveness.

In Your name...

Hey, Lori, I gotta go. Um...

But when we get off the phone, I'll, I'll call and check in on him, okay?

Okay. Well, thank you, Past... - Okay.

Let's go.

Pastor.

Pastor, it's getting... - Right.

Terry's family deserves a chance to say goodbye.

It's too late for that.

Are you gonna be weak...

...or are you gonna be like King David?

Ready? One, two...

Hold...

Let's go, let's go. Come on.

One, two...

Take his leg first. Hold the legs.

Watch...

Take him.

That's it, Mansa.

Let's go. Come on, come on!

All right, stop here.

Right here, stop right here.

All right. Come on.

Get him up.

Pastor.

Don't!

Is... is your roommate here?

Reggie.

Fuck you want?

I was... I was here yesterday, right?

What?

If anyone asks, I was here.

You saw me yesterday afternoon at pastor's door.

Right?

Yeah, yeah, I saw you.

God will test you.

God will test your faith in Him.

Now, in Genesis 22,

God tested Abraham in the most unimaginable way.

God tells Abraham to sacrifice his son, his only son,

as a burnt offering.

Now...

...what do you think Abraham did?

I'll tell you what he did.

He takes his son Isaac to the mountaintop, just as God asked,

and his son, not knowing what's going on,

is looking for a lamb to sacrifice.

But little did he know he was that lamb.

Now, you're probably thinking.

"What kind of god is this?"

I'll tell you what kind.

Abraham was on that mountaintop looking at his son, Isaac.

He sees his eyes, he sees him smiling.

Abraham reaches in and he pulls out the knife.

And as he began to strike...

Wait.

Y'all sure y'all ready for this?

As he begins to strike, God sends an angel to stop him.

"Do not lay a hand on that boy," He said.

"Do not do anything to him.

Now, I know that you fear God

because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son."

And then God blesses him with a ram and many, many more children.

Now let that sit for a minute.

How many of you began to doubt God as I ask you this?

How many of you were wondering,

"Well, why would God ask Abraham to do such a thing?"

But you see...

...God will ask us all to do the unthinkable.

He will ask us all to give up something

to show how much we truly love Him.

Truly believe in Him.

And I ain't talking about alcohol or sweets. No.

I'm talking about something that's very precious to you.

I'm talking about something that you love with all your heart.

And no, it's not an easy task, but God blesses those

who are faithful to Him, to those who put no man

or no thing above Him.

To those who are willing to do whatever God asks

in order to preserve and expand His kingdom.

So I ask you...

...what are you willing to do to show your faith in God?

Everybody, please give it up for my main man, Mansa Harper.
