Hitchcock's name was synonymous with something that was going to be very

special.

Not the wedding ring.

No one does suspense like Hitchcock.

His ideas work.

They completely work.

Turn out the light, he says.

You really feel his personality in all the movies.

In this house, the most dire, horrible events took place.

He was sort of a family member. He sort of went to see his movie.

The shower sequence in Psycho is unforgettable.

It was just brilliant.

I don't think I saw an audience react that way.

In such excitement and such shock.

It marked me for life. It was terrifying.

All of Hitchcock's films are made with such craftsmanship that you get a sense

of how it's done at the very highest level.

Hitchcock was one of the most precise filmmakers that have ever lived.

He devolved to a certain style. It was very sharp and clean. You got the

There's a specificity that's almost unsurpassed. There's nothing sloppy at

Suspense doesn't necessarily mean crime or murder or a brutal scene. I think

there is just as much suspense.

The beauty of Hitchcock's work is that the more subtle moments are even more

powerful and more lasting.

The quiet contributes to the tension.

He understood the sense of what was unsettling, so he took the symbols of

You get a sense of that innocence being corrupted.

Being defiled.

They're alive. They're human beings.
