Now we're going to break up into our

upon the various topics that were
brought up this morning.

I'm a second -year law student at St.
John's. My interests in particular lie

television law, and I'm very excited by
what I see as the endless opportunities

that the television medium offers us.

For example, in 1950, which is around
the time television first became

to the public, there were about 4
million sets in this country.

Today, at the end of 1970, there are 88
.3 million sets, which means that 95 %

of all homes have at least one.

And this in only two decades.

Now, the people who own these sets, how
much are they watching them? Well, in

1960, the average amount of time spent
watching television per day, per person,

was five hours and three minutes.

whereas today that number has increased
to 5 hours 59 minutes.

So in the short span of 10 years, we've
witnessed an increase of about an hour

in viewing time.

Television now accounts for about 31 %
of our leisure time, making it by far

nation's number one leisure activity.

simplest things.

And today, I had a miraculous
revelation.

understand this in my soul.
